Early new years eve celebration for 2. Food was great, lobster bisque to start, was ver flavorful and very creamy, beef wellington was done to perfection. The wagu steak was seasoned and just perfect, put the peppercorn sauce to top it off. Roasted broccoli and veggies along with the cheesy augratin very enjoyable dinner, staff was very attentive never went without freshened water or requests if we needed anything.

Absolutely incredible experience at The Chop House. From start to finish, everything we ordered was delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked, the flavors were rich, one of the best I’ve ever had. The service was amazing and very attentive without being overbearing. The cheese plate was phenomenal beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The Au-Grain potatoes were a tad bit on the salty side for my preference. Overall a fantastic meal.

It was our first visit and we had the best experience dining here. Leo was our phenomenal server- friendly & caring and we never had to ask for anything. We tried so many different foods and they were all fantastic. For my main course I had the pork chop which is not something I would typically go for on a menu but it was 100% the best pork chop I’ve ever had in my life. The sauce was impeccable and the meat was cooked to perfection. The lamb chop lollipops also stood out, the meat was tender, the sauce was out of this world, and the salad was light and crisp. We weren’t really celebrating anything but a small anniversary but Leo still made us feel special by bringing out a fun chocolate plate. We also tried the lemon sorbet and it was the perfect refresher after all the delicious savory. Overall for the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere it was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at and was worth the price.

We had a family post-Christmas dinner and it was fantastic. Yes, it was pricey, but as they say, you get what you pay for. It has been some years since I've eaten here and my past experience was not great. This time however was a much better experience. The service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. We really could not have asked for a better meal. If you are looking for that special dining experience I would highly recommend the Chop House.

💥🎉👉This is definitely as "special event" place. It is priced high but the quality of food and the service was worth it. I loved their bread which comes at every meal. Servers come promptly to give you more bread once you are out. I ordered a lobster gnocchi and it was divine! The sauce flavorful and the gnocchi was perfect. I had the French onion soup. I wanted to be open-minded, but I'm just not a French onion person. Lol. I think I'd try the Maine lobster bisque next time, as well as the beef wellington. Looking forward to another special event for me to go there again. 😊

amazing experience! seriously couldn’t rave enough, we had 2 separate people helping table us, and these ladies were great. we sadly don’t remember their names but they were so kind and helpful. were we were seated was a sit alone able for 2, and we kept saying how it was a perfect area! felt like we had a whole section to our self. our main waitress, incredibly helpful with any questions and honestly made us feel like real people who would frequent a place like this… (we never go out) any questions we had she helped but also just chatted with us lightly she was a great personality and waitress. the second waitress helping also so kind and she brought out our desserts and checked in a few times. again made us feel like we belonged. we raved about the amazing blondie for dessert. these ladies definitely made our experience special, but we also wanna just shout out how phenomenal the food was. 10/10 for everything, the mashed potatoes were the best we’ve ever had. mock tails were amazing as well! will definitely be back.

Wow, first time here. The staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful. Made us feel like we were the only couple there. The food was excellent. I had Beef Wellington. That’s a huge WOW! My wife likes her steaks well done, no pink. To me that usually means tough and no flavor, but it was so tender and juicy (even cooked very well done). The accompaniments were great. The desserts were so delicious. Words cannot describe how great our experience was.

Phenomenal food and outstanding service ! Went here on my birthday and got the beef wellington. It was amazing and the service was top notch. Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends. 10☆

Service and atmosphere was great! The food was good. Had to send back my steak when they overcooked it. But the new one came back perfect. Got an aggatto for dessert, which was delicious! Ask for a wet towel. They will come put with a lemon and towel bowl hand wash for you! Reminded me of being back in India. Unfortunately, it still does not beat my favorite steakhouse in michigan. Boudies Chop House.

I’ve reserved the private room at Chop House Ann Arbor multiple times for business gatherings and social events, and I continue to be incredibly impressed. From start to finish, the experience is top-notch, and the team goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs seamlessly. Lindsay has been our host on both occasions, facilitating every detail with professionalism and care. My groups have ranged from 10 to 15 people, and each time, the service, ambiance, and food have exceeded expectations. I always strive to create a first-class experience for my guests, and Chop House Ann Arbor delivers every time. If you’re looking for an upscale, well-executed dining experience—especially for private events—this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Went here recently for the first time and we truly enjoyed the entire experience and the quantity prepared food. Service was absolutely on par with this quality and we had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere. Great experience just be aware it's pricey. My amazing Cowboy steak was $80 and no sides but I'm not angry, it was the best beef I've had that I can remember. Plus, when you do add sides they can definitely be shared plates. We loved it. Can't wait to go again.

Amazing experience. Celebrating my birthday here was a great choice . Food was amazing and the service was excellent. For appetizers we ordered the shrimp cocktail and french Onion soup. The shrimp was fresh and delicious and the soup was the perfect example of what a good French onion soup should be. For my main entree I ordered the 45 day dry aged NY strip. The steak was bursting with flavor, seasoned to perfection and cooked exactly how I wanted it. My girlfriend ordered the Filet mignon with lobster tail and she said it was the best filet she's ever had . (we've been to a lot of steak houses so that's saying a lot) Our server Celin was very informative and recommended the perfect wine to pair with our steaks. We also ordered the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus for sides , both were very good. For dessert I had the affogato. Highly recommend this steakhouse for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. Overall this place gets a 5/5. The atmosphere was beautiful. Upscale but very welcoming. All of the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Make no mistake about it. This is the real deal. There are world-class restaurants in every big city, mostly on the East and West Coast (and Vegas). But you rarely find a place this excellent in a small city like Ann Arbor... no matter how sophisticated it might be. The Chop House is one of those restaurants. From its complete and interesting wine list to its clever desserts the careful attention to the little things separates this place from the rest. Like, when was the last time you were able to check your coat? It isn't cheap but I have rarely gotten more value for the money. If you want superb service and an excellent meal this is the place to come.

I brought a friend of mine here for dinner tonight. Great experience! We started with two drinks, I believe they were called something like a berry no-jito and a tropic twist. Both were amazing and were finished very quickly. We ordered a cheese board which was presented well and had a wide variety of crackers, bread crisps, meats, grapes, etc. it was delicious. For our entrées, my guest ordered salmon and I ordered a filet. We split crusted mac & cheese. Good things to say only amongst everything we ate! For dessert we got the mudslide cheesecake which was delightful. The atmosphere is very traditional steakhouse vibes. They have outdoor seating, a nice fireplace and a cigar lounge downstairs! Our server, Cami, was super personal and professional! She was so sweet and helped by giving us a few suggestions off the menu. Definitely intend to return!

Delicious food and great service by the staff. The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive to our table ensuring we never ran out of drinks or anything. The steak was cooked very well, definitely get the wet aged New York strip. The restaurant is also very well decorated. Not cheap by any means but worth the price.

The food, the staff, the service, the cleanliness of the bathrooms…all excellent, here! We came here for my dad’s birthday dinner, and we are so glad that we did. Emily, along with support from Brendan, were excellent in making sure we had everything we needed, and were so friendly in making the evening a special event. We all left saying we would come back here every time, it was hands down a lovely evening. Highly recommend for a special event, date night, or a night out in general!

Been here a number of times for dinner plus there's a cigar lounge down stairs. Food and service is top tier.

Beautiful place to have meetings and dinning. Excellent staff, providing a truly exceptional 5 star experience. I'm allergic to caffeine and shellfish, FML, and they were able to accommodate me very well. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for an amazing job of accommodating our large group of around 25 people.

Nestled on Main Street in Ann Arbor, The Chop House offers a pinnacle of fine dining experiences. As with many smaller cities, parking can be a challenge, so it's advisable to seek out the nearby structure, just a block away, to ensure a hassle-free arrival. Upon entering, the restaurant's grandeur becomes immediately apparent, with its expansive layout and a sophisticated cigar lounge nestled in the lower level. The establishment boasts ample space, including sizable rooms in the lower level suitable for hosting events. During our visit on a serene Tuesday evening, despite having made reservations, the bustling ambiance made it evident that they weren't necessary. Opting to forgo starters, we delved straight into our entrées. Each dish, whether it was the sumptuous salmon or the delectable beef selection, impressed with its quality and flavor. Service was impeccable, exemplified by the synchronized arrival of our meals, each attended to by a dedicated server. The extensive wine selection complemented the meal perfectly, and the elegance of the white tablecloths added an extra touch of refinement to the dining experience. The side dishes, particularly the potatoes, proved to be indulgent delights, with a single serving easily satisfying the entire party. For groups of four, it's advisable to limit side orders to no more than two, especially if foregoing starters. Though tempted by dessert, we found ourselves pleasantly satiated from the generous portions and flavorsome dishes, making it an optional addition. Departing with contented palates and full stomachs, the consensus was unanimous—a visit to The Chop House is an experience worth savoring. While the bill may reflect the upscale nature of the establishment, our $400 expenditure before gratuity was deemed well worth it for the exceptional quality of food and service received. For those seeking an unparalleled fine dining experience in Ann Arbor, I wholeheartedly recommend The Chop House!

I cannot say enough about our dining experience. Drake out Server was top notch. From drinks, appetizers, to main course, everything was absolutely incredible. Don't get me started on the bread!!!! We will most definitely be going back, and so should you.

From the moment we walked in I knew that our experience was going to be magical. Like our server was knowledgeable and fun. For the most part the food was exceptional. Only draw back was the au gratin potatoes, really wish we had not ordered that! Otherwise I wish we could go back again. Compliments to the kitchen!

We had reservations for our 21st wedding anniversary. It was our first time going to the Chophouse in Ann Arbor. We had the loveliest time. The service was great. The food was amazing.

Our server Emily was fantastic. The food was perfectly cooked. The open sidewalk accommodations made social distancing easy. Overall, a great experience best reserved for a special occasion.

If money is no issue, this place is incredible. I'd be surprised if you managed to find something not delicious here and the service is spectacular. Youre going to spend around 100 per person though so keep that in mind but for an occasion it's a fantastic place to go The Australian Wagyu is great, and the creamed corn and bread they bring out is incredibly yummy

S
Stan Rifken

This is a special place, with superb service worthy of its 5-star rating. After the raw oyster plater, they did not just bring a finger bowl and napkin, but brought a lemon, to squeeze over my fingers, as they handed me a napkin. This is, as they say, a classy joint! The table, well set, the utensils sparkling, the glasses spotless. The margarita I ordered was strong and adequate. The bread they brought to the table, tasted exactly like Brazilian Pão de Queijo! A cheese bread of distinctive flavor. Their menu includes excellent beefy steaks of several cuts and sizes with an assortment of sauces offered, if you like your steak that way. They have great lobster, raw osters, crab cakes as well, if you are not there for the chops. It is truly a special place, to take someone for dinner and impress them with your sophisticated good taste. The menu has no prices listed, but plan on spending about $300, for the two of you, by the time you're done. (You can not impress anyone with your sophisticated good taste, on the cheap) It may be said, that a good time was had by all in attendance

Sat at the bar. This place is classic and top notch. The bartender was AWESOME. I forget her name but she gave some awesome recommendations. Definitely get the bread. I don’t know what the hell they do to it, but it is out of control Good. Caesar salad was classic but fantastic. And the dry aged New York strip steak was cooked to perfection.

Every meal I've had here is phenomenal! The staff is just as amazing as the food! The crab cakes and lobster bisque are a must! Came for my birthday and my husband dropped off flowers, a cake and my gift earlier in the day before and when we got there the staff had beautifully arranged the table with it all. Plus they put us at the table right next to the window and it was snowing. such a nice gesture from the staff. Doesn't hurt that dining here on your birthday means a discount!! Everything I've had is tasty!

Superp consistently great service and food. Awesome potions for the price. Dinner for 2 with no alcohol was 189.67. 40.00 tip. This was a special occasion so well worth it. Staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We will definitely be back. Thank you A-Squared chop house for making this a special night.

The Chop House of Ann Arbor never fails. I went here for my birthday and everything was excellent from start to finish. The steak was cooked perfectly, the food across the board was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. You really can’t go wrong with this place — consistently great quality and a perfect spot for a special occasion.

Exquisite. My best dining experience in AA. Food is amazing. Had three steaks presliced and shared between the three of us, which was a great way to share. Lobster gnocchi is creamy deliciousness. Service is attentive but not overbearing.

I believe there was a miscommunication when we first arrived as to who would be serving us & we waited quite a bite of time before one came over but they handled it very professionally! We had a nice dinner and attentive service and they went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Well be back again. Thanks. :)

Xiao our server was one of the best servers that I have had. The food was excellent. I am from Las Vegas and accustomed to fine dining. This was comparable to a fine steak house in Las Vegas.

This is clearly a great restaurant. It’s expensive but the food and service justify it the bread service was very great the lobster gnocchi was incredible and next time I plan to try the lobster bisque and beef Wellington.

I had an amazing experience at the Chop House in Ann Arbor. My NY strip steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Old Fashioned was honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Service was unbelievable from start to finish — every person we interacted with was professional and on point. And don’t skip the cheese-filled rolls… legit addicting. The cigar bar in the basement is a hidden gem and made the whole night feel even more special. Highly recommend this place for a great dinner and a unique experience.

I came a couple of days ago for my anniversary and we had an amazing time. Definitely come looking to spend money though, because the bill can rack up really quickly. Our server, Ray, was one of the best we've ever had. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was able to guide us through the menu, helped us choose our meal, and helped us pair wine from extremely long wine list. At the end of the meal, he even gave us recommended places to get a nightcap, and places to see in the city while we were visiting. The food was outstanding, but leans a bit salty. The lobster bisque was a standout, my wife really enjoyed the Caesar Salad. The steaks were amazing. Ex emotionally tender and juicy. The New York strip come with a delicious rosemary butter that makes everything so savory. The Au Gratin potatoes were a bit salty, but there were cooked well, but the brussel sprouts were incredible. Sweet and savory, paired well with our steaks. The desserts are a must here. Our server recommended the amaretto creme brulee, and it was everything we needed. Creamy sweet amaretto was a perfect finish to our great meal. We'll be back for sure!

D

The food at Chop House is absolutely top-notch — every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and worth the price. The ambiance is beautiful and makes for a great dining experience, whether it's a special occasion or a night out. That said, the front counter staff could use a reminder that the lobby and surrounding area are part of the guest experience too. It’s hard to fully enjoy the upscale atmosphere when loud personal conversations (especially inappropriate ones) can be overheard from nearby tables. When you're paying premium prices, you expect the focus to be on the guests — not on who’s dating who behind the scenes. Would definitely return for the food and setting, but I hope management steps in to fine-tune the professionalism out front.

D

Best place in Ann Arbor to celebrate a special occasion. We've been here many, many times. The highlights for us are the beef wellington, cowboy steak, and filet mignon. Service can be hit or miss. Steaks don't always come out as ordered.

N
Nate Rock

Starting out with what was described as a bite sized popover filled with cheese, moving on to some delicious validation and finished off with a pair of thick cut Berkshire pork chops cooked to perfection! Definitely a great place to stop in for old-timely ambiance and delicious food.

I went to the Chop House with a group of colleagues and have mixed feelings at the end. The wait for food was longer than I expected, and when my Australian Rib Lamb Chops (ordered medium) finally arrived, the cooking was all over the place. First chop was medium-rare and closer to the bone was rare, another was medium-welldone, and the last was rare. I sent the rare one back, and it came back better! I appreciate that. The flavors were decent, but the inconsistency and long wait kept the experience mixed. The waiters did a great job keeping our drinks filled while we wait for our food.

C
Chris Calovini

I was there for a wedding. The food was excellent however the Fillet Mignon was cooked medium well which is a crime. Fillet should never be cooked beyond medium rare.

C

Have been really excited to go to the chophouse franchise for a while now, we went to the Zach Bryan concert and really the only place that wasn’t packed in a line out the door was the chophouse so we finally thought it was the perfect opportunity since the place wasn’t busy and everywhere else was. We got in right away without a reservation, which was very nice which we also would be able to tell that it was a possibility because nobody was really in there yet. I think they also just opened. My boyfriend and I order a Bottle of wine to split after that order, she came over and refilled our waters and took our food order which at this time we still did not have any wine that we ordered. At this time, the woman behind us just sat down with her husband, and they ordered some margaritas. The margaritas behind us came out before our wine. My boyfriend soup came out before our wine. And the woman behind us second margarita came before our wine actually did. I’m assuming it’s because the waitress was nervous to open a bottle of wine in front of the her guest Because she did not seem Confident in doing so at all, and it showed. About two minutes later, our Steaks came out. The presentation was beautiful, but the flavor just was lacking. I even got blue cheese on mine to put a little extra flair on it, but it was cooked medium well when I ordered medium, which is very disappointing when you’re at a steakhouse and spend so much. Our server was extremely polite. It was just a little frustrating that the place was so empty even during such a big event in the quality of service just wasn’t there like how is my boyfriend eating a soup and hasn’t even got his wine yet? I wasn’t able to even drink a half a glass of wine before my food was in front of me. I also got a side of the mashed potatoes. I think they were garlic. They were pretty good. They were a little chilly not like extremely hot. Just kind of like medium temp very edible. No need to send back to warm up or anything, but they could’ve definitely been hotter. Just kind of a disappointing experience after such a long time of waiting to go to someplace like this. And like I said, maybe I would have more sympathy if they were busy, but they just were not at the time that we were there.

Dave Kogowski

Came for a beef wellington left with disappointment Go out to treat yourself to a nice meal for your birthday. Scallops app was meh. Beef wellington suppose to be medium rare. Came rare rare as in the steak was still ice cold. I haven't had a wellington since 2018 in Vegas cause not my places make em. Only reason why I chose the Chop House. They reheat the wellington and bring it back on plate without the sauce. Lack of detail to attention and care. I didn't stay for dessert cause who could handle all 3 courses to be a disappointment. 4-5 star wannabe with a 2-3 star mentality and attitude. First time and only time. Thanks for wasting my money.

I came to dinner at The Chop House since it was recommended by others. I started with the oysters, lobster bites and crab stuffed shrimp. The oysters were very good and fresh and I thought the sauce that came with them were very good. The lobster bites and crab stuffed shrimp were ok but I have had better. I also had the lobster bisque which was average and the Cesar salad which was not good at all in my opinion. As a main dish I got the beef Wellington which was very average compared to other places I have had it. I was excited about the desserts because they had such a big selection online. I tried 2 different ones an apple pie one and then another one that had pretzels on top. The one with the pretzel on top was pretty good but the apple pie one was below average. They did have a nice wine selection and I thought the iPads instead of menus was cool and also the hot towel service. Overall I was not impressed by this place at all and I don’t plan on coming back.

My son and I had a reservation for a NYE dinner at the Chop House-Ann Arbor. When we arrived we were sat in a room by ourselves right next to the exit door (pictured below). This totally ruined the NYE experience. It was like we were on the outside looking into the restaurant. My son asked me not to complain because he didn’t want to cause a scene. So we made due. We ordered appetizers which were good. However, when our entree’s arrived they were cold and the food was subpar. We ordered the surf & turf and salmon oscar with a side of cheddar au gratin potatoes (pictured below). The steak was cold and undercook yet rough, the potatoes were so over cooked we couldn’t eat them. The salmon Oscar had no flavor. Even the rolls they brought us were burnt. My son had the salmon and was sick for two days after eating here. This was not what we expected for $250+ tip. I will say the wait staff was nice but our NYE dinner experience was ruined. We won’t be back.
