Enjoyed the appetizers & Goat Biryani. Very well made. Restaurant is spacious & accomodated our business group lunch of 10. Highly recommend.
Went for lunch with co-workers. Service was great, food was DELICIOUS and fast. Will definitely be back soon!
Superlative food, exemplary service and wonderful atmosphere, a must for anyone who really enjoys food 🥳 On the side is Hara Bhara Kabob, meals that are made for me are catered and are not part of the main menu in portion size. Open and closing it doesn't matter, consistency is everything, consistently fabulous here 💝🙏 Don't know what to do for the holidays, they've got you covered, from single meals to full catering! 😁
Their Goat Fry Biryani is a must try! Everyone in my family loves it. The meat is tender and flavorful, rice is fragrant, and spiciness is just perfect, we always order it with medium spice. We’re also big fans of their Dosa. Always satisfying!
Ordered this a few times for lunch at work, tried the 555 chicken biryani, the 65 chicken biryani and goat fry biryani and all of them were delicious, good portion. The rice is floral and lovely, and each of the proteins I tried were full of flavor and spice. The medium level is perfect for me. Will order more. Edit: drove 2 hours for this place for a spicy chicken 65 biryani, the spice level is perfect and it is an amazing and flavorful dish balanced between fragrant rice and delicious spicy chicken. The red onions and naan are great for this. 10/10.
Love this beautiful spot serving really good south indian food. It speacializes more towards Andhra/Telangana side. So expect spicy food. My 1 year old gobbles up their idlies and chapathis. Biryanis are awesome. Love their speciality curries.
Stopped in for a lunch dish to-go. Service was great, meal was ready quickly. The food is fantastic. Great value and awesome flavor.
Went along with family and friends family. Went in for unlimited dosa.. Good place if you are in for a dosa lover...
Food was DELICIOUS! Staff was super friendly. Loved it here. Will come again in a heartbeat.
Fantastic food and service. My favorites are the pepper corn fry, dosas, mutter paneer and the biriyanis! One of the best Indian places in Hillsboro, strongly recommend
Authentic south india cusine and spice. Friendly staff. Huge portion sizes. Dindugal and ambur biryani available over the weekend
Definitely one of the best Indian places around! Delicious!!!
Recently had been to Biriyani Express and had an absolute great experience. Had ordered baby corn appetizer which was very tasty. From the main dishes had ordered Chana masala, Kofta curry, guthi Venkaya and loved all the 3 dishes. Full justice was given to flavor and quality. Would highly recommend this place. Also to add the place was very neat and the staff were very cordial and kind.
I LOVE IT. I went there for desert and left with supreme intellect. Thank you Biriyani Express. :)
This review is only for dosas and nothing else. Not because rest are bad, it is just that I don't eat anything else. I travel a lot, and sometimes just for dosas. I have had my fair share of dosas across the country, and in popular, hidden, upcoming and new places. Dosas from this place will certainly give a tough fight to some of best in US. The batter is perfectly fermented, dosas have the right level of crispness, masala is tasty and plentiful. Masala spreads be it Madurai mall, Mysore masala, karaikudi are delectable. Sides are decent. Coconut chutney standout with generous green chillies which is how South Indians like it. Sambar is ok, there is room for improvement but by no means bad. Lastly, the size of dosa is pretty big. I tend to be get slower towards the end which rarely happens in other places. Overall, a great dosa place, certainly the best in Portland as a self certified Dosa inspector.
Wanted to try out Biriyani Express on our visit to Beaverton from Bay Area.. We were a party of 10 went for dinner. All of us enjoyed the whole experience, well maintained, clean restaurant with loads of choices.. menu had many favorites for everyone in the family. Very quick to take order and to bring the food. No complaints about the quantity.. Biriyani quantity would probably be enough for 2. Fresh food. Really liked the spice level. Finished off with a filler coffee.. would highly recommend this restaurant!! Hoping to go once more before we return to Bay Area.
How is this not 5 stars?!😡 Easily the best Indian food I have ever had. ❤️🇮🇳😋 Goat 🐐lamb 🥩lovers paradise! 🙌🏻 The samosas were also exceptional. I suspect everything on the menu is. I will definitely be back before I leave town. Big portions, big flavors reasonable prices.
Went to Biryani Express to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint! I’ve tried many Indian restaurants in the Portland metro area and in all honesty this has been by far my favorite! Raj and his team welcomed my family and I and were very personable and attentive. The food was excellent and I will definitely be coming here for my Indian food cravings☺️ We had ordered a fried fish dish (don’t remember the name), Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, samosas, raita and bread. Let me tell ya their food is as authentic as it could get! I can’t wait to try their full menu! You’ll definitely want to try it and trust me you won’t regret it!☺️
I am so happy that I stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for places to eat nearby! Thank goodness that many people had given great reviews for this new restaurant, reading those we decided to give it a try. When we went here for the first time, we tried their Vijaywada Biryani and Paratha with Chicken curry, both the items were delicious. I had the urge of trying a dosa but I was skeptical to give it a try. The food that we tried was authentic and met all our expectations. To try their dosas we visited this restaurant again and this time I had Mysore Masala Dosa with filter coffee (love of my life;)) and my husband had Onion Rava Dosa with some appetizers, all the items were made to perfection. I just loved the dosa with all the chutneys, filter coffee was good too. I am so happy to have this place around!! Service is good and people here are very sweet! Overall, great experience! I hope and pray that this restaurant stays here for a long time!!🙂
Excellent place for authentic Indian food. Amazing crew, ambiance, and of course the food. Must try restaurants in Hillsboro. Try the spicy pepper corn appetizer. It's out of the world. The Sunday's thalapakatti mutton biryani, it's the best. Its their signature dish.Don't miss it. Gets sold out soon!
Saw this new Indian restaurant and decided to stop in and try it out. The customer service was great and I felt like Raj and his staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was so flavorful and authentic I couldn’t get enough of it! I had ordered the tandoori chicken and the chicken was very moist and had a lot of really good flavors. I will be coming back to try more from the menu!
By now, I have tried several dishes during multiple visits and they are all very delicious. Right now, this is the only and best South Indian restaurant offering an authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine. Weekend specials are a must-try for their flavorful and unique "seeraga samba rice" biryanis (dindigul thalappakatti or Ambur). This is a unique experience as the rice is of flavorful short-grain variety opposed to the popular Biryanis made with Basmati long-grain rice. My go-to favorites are just simple Parotta and Salna (vegetarian). Chicken and Mutton salnas are great as well. Chicken or lamb sukka was delicious and is a must to pair with any of the Parotta-Salna combo. Vegetarian dishes were equally fantastic. Tried Gobi Manchurian which was crispy and delicious (my personal scale to review an Indian restaurant - you get Gobi Manchurian right, u get everything else right). Paneer Masakili and Paneer Tikka masala were good. Dosas and other tiffin items were good. Coconut chutney was delicious. Highly recommended!
Today we went for dinner and ordered shrimp 65, Tandoori fish and chicken 65 biryani. Food was so yummy and delicious, especially tandoori fish and biryani was so good. I would highly recommend to try all options in their menu
Finally, an authentic Indian restaurant in Hillsboro to taste proper South Indian food. Tried Thalapakattu Goat Biriyani and Filter coffee for Sunday lunch. The best Biriyani I had in a while in Portland. Tried couple of Chicken starters as well, taste is as authentic it can get in US. Thanks to the hotel staff for making my lunch such a memorable one. My go to place for Indian food in Hillsboro 😊
Food is excellent, got to taste Chicken 65 Biriyani and Mughalai Chicken Biriyani. Overall food, service, staff and ambience are great. Definitely a must try place.
Menu has new items to try. Restaurants is good and food is good too. There are options for vegetarian as well. Service is bit slow but food is tasty ☺️
I ordered the Masala Paper Roast Dosa, which was super delicious and huge! I like that the paper roast dosa was bigger, thinner, crispier, and not as tangy as the regular dosa. It also came with potato masala, three chutneys, and sambar (not pictured because I ate it first).

Food is authentic and filled with flavor and spices! They have a large menu. If you aren’t familiar with Indian cuisine, the menu might be confusing to understand. I personally had bad cell service, so googling the menu items was hard. I suggest looking at the menu online before going in.

Food were selectively good. Ordered Biriyani which was excellent but very spicy. The chicken mandagani ordered was disappointing, the chicken was not cooked in the gravy and tasted different, bland. Dosa was not the best that could be found in the area, overall an average experience
Hours were a little confusing, they don't serve biryani until noon. We ordered the lamb rogan josh and the lamb kurma with garlic naan, the server was very helpful explaining the dishes. The food was incredible.
Clean and bright space serving delicious Indian dishes. The service was a bit cold and slow. There were only 2-3 tables with guests, but it took them a while to take our orders and deliver the food. Hopefully we won't have to wait long when we visit again
Pretty good tasty food, but lots of miscommunication and confusion over whether a dish comes in mild or not. Different staff gave us different answers.

Very tasty food, I've had chicken curry and Singapore noodles so far, both lean towards the better versions I've had of each. Friendly service for my Togo orders. I was given ketchup to go with my noodles, which confused me...am I not in the know with this or is it cuz I'm a gringo? 4 stars is a solid rating for me, I only go 5 for wow or friend status.

Food is good, but service is very slow and disorganized. They advertise their dosa buffet with unlimited smaller dosas, but simply don't have the capacity to bring them out in a reasonable time. We had just 2 dosas per person (party of 4) and that took total 2 hours, with most of the time spent waiting. Service also suffered, with mistakes in taking orders and no water refills.
Disappointing Service Experience While the food quality was good, the service was absolutely frustrating. It felt like we had to beg for every dish. The staff responsible for attending tables seemed disorganized and overwhelmed. One server was running around trying his best, but clearly lacked support from his teammate. We had to wait endlessly — first for the dosa, and then again for the sambar and chutney. There was zero coordination, and worse, no eye contact or acknowledgment from the staff, as if they expected us to shout or call them by name to get attention. Though the food itself was decent, the poor service completely ruined the experience. If this continues, I doubt this place can sustain for long.
Food is great and delicious! Portion size is good. But how in the world you do not have iced water or ice for drinks? ALL of the restaurants in america service ice or iced water. It was a surprise and spoils the dining experience.
New place. Still trying to understand and run a business. Restrooms did not have supplies and well staffed in the front.
We went for a Fri dinner. There was ample dine in space. The TV was running really loudly and it forced me to request to reduce the volume but even then it was loud for us as we were seated close to the TV. The food was very average. We ordered chilli paneer which was served like a paneer gravy instead. Then came goat vindaloo and onion kulcha. The kulcha was half burnt on the sides and very dry and difficult to eat. The goat curry was ok but there were hardly any good meat pieces, mostly bones and a lot of gravy. The rice that came was undercooked as well. I'm not sure if I'll ever come back to this place. My partner ordered the chicken chowmein which was ok.
The paneer gutiyaki had a lot of masala in the gravy and is a recommended dish for people fond of eating spicy food. Overall the ambiance is good.

I placed a pickup order for Lamb Vindaloo. Second time ordering. First time was a few months ago. Food was good but not great. Service was excellent. This time I couldn't find anyone when I went to pickup my order but found it bagged and waiting with other orders on a table. Just walked out with it. This dish was disappointing. Hardly any lamb, mostly potatoes and sauce with ALOT of grease. Their other reviews show appetizing photos. Maybe it was an off night.
I tried the lunch special. You get a choice to select from veg lunch special, chicken or goat. I tried a chicken lunch special. I get 2/4 tandoori roti, chicken curry, chicken appetizer, daal, sweet, biryani and rice. The food was decent and it was in total $12-15. Good place for lunch if you want to grab a quick bite

We have been to this restaurant 3 times, mostly for their Dosas, which are fine, however the service is almost nonexistent, they don’t seem to have a system to bring the food to the correct table, don’t know how to serve the food without reaching over other people seated at the table, take forever to serve the food even when there were just 4 other customers at the restaurant. Staff are polite and friendly but could benefit from a little training.
Don’t ever try Vijaywada Chicken Biryani. It’s like colored rice with chicken curry. Didn’t even taste like Biryani. Worst biryani I have ever heard. If the same continues they will be out of business for sure.
I recently visited this restaurant on Saturday for the lunch buffet, before coming to restaurant i called the place and inquired about buffet is available or not and the answer is yes. And confirmed with staff after reaching there and they too said yes. I left extremely disappointed. There was no actual buffet, and after a lot of back-and-forth bluffing from the staff, I was eventually served a regular meal, which was not worth the money at all. It felt like I was misled and robbed ! I was fully disappointed and dissatisfied with the quality of food. The chicken curry and mutton curry were particularly terrible – both lacked flavor, and the meat was overcooked and dry. The service was slow, and it seemed like the staff didn’t care at all about customer satisfaction. If you're expecting a proper buffet with good food, I would strongly suggest avoiding this place. Definitely not worth the hype or the price! Very disappointed and won't be returning.
Terrible experience and the staff did not even care enough to apologise. We gave a pickup order at the restaurant on NYE and we were told it will take 1.5hrs. When we called them 1.5hrs later they asked us to come in 15 mins. We reached there 30 mins later and the order was still not ready. Looks like they accepted too many orders and were not able to commit. Instead of giving us a realistic expectation they kept telling us to wait 10 more minutes, with the excuse that “people who placed their order a week ago also had to wait 45 mins”. We finally received the food 3hrs after we placed the order, after waiting at the restaurant for more than an hour and being told “10 more minutes” every few minutes. I understand it’s NYE, but had they told us when we placed the order that it would take this long or even when we were ready to pick up we could have reduced the number of items.
