Fancy Q Sushi & Thai Apopka

My wife and I found this place via a google search one night in a less-than-savory area of Apopka, and it is a hidden gem. My wife and I like to sit at the sushi bar. The sushi chef always makes us a little sampler out of leftovers. We started with some beef tataki and dragon rolls. The tataki was so tender and full of flavor and the dragon roll’s presentation was pristine. My wife had a cucumber roll which she always enjoys and I had the chicken hibachi with soup and salad with ginger dressing. Everything we’ve ever eaten there has been amazing. If you are anywhere near this area of central Florida and want fresh, delicious sushi and hibachi, stop in!!!

Let me just say this was a hidden treasure we lived a few miles away from it and did not realize it even existed. This place had the most delicious sushi! Flavorful soup! Amazing five star hibachi! We will be back!

We just found this place, and we are so glad we did. Excellent service and amazing quality of food! We had sushi, hibachi, and curry. It was all amazing. They brought us a complementary appetizer also. This is our new favorite sushi and Thai place.

Never tried sushi before, walking on the wild side, thought I'd try it. Noooo, bad idea. Did not like the smoked salmon a la carte sushi. Just not my thing. On the other hand the grilled hibachi steak and chicken was deliciously delightful. Will return.

Great food, good price, friendly servers, our server went above and beyond to make my 4 year old feel comfortable, we were given one appetizer for free on the house, great clean and inviting environment. I highly recommend...7/27/23..We have been coming here for years..It never disappoint us..I wanted to add and video from yesterday.👏👏

The sushi was awesome!!! The krab appetizer they brought out was cold and not good (it was free but it would have been better to not have gotten it). It was very loud in the restaurant. But the sushi was very good, definitely worth it.

Fancy Q is my favorite spot for Japanese and Thai in the area. Food is always great — fish is fresh, presentation is beautiful, and portions are generous. Service is always amazing and I look forward to coming back every time!

The food is very good, service is always excellent. Lunch during week is much cheaper and great pricing on hibachi lunch entrees during week. King almon hibachi is my favorite . Chicken hibachi and salmon hibachi salad is excellent. Also love the salmon kobachi salad with avacado and salmon lover entre

We’ve been coming here since they opened and we can’t get enough of their food! Their sushi is delicious with a range of meat to vegan options. Delicious Thai tea 🫖 and kids meals similar to hibachi with veggies and rice with noodles. My kids love their food and we come here frequently when we want a nice evening out together with yummy food and a clean and friendly atmosphere. The bathroom is never dirty the tables and silverware are clean and polished. My kids love their Ramune sodas which are a Japanese drink made with lychee or strawberry and sometimes blueberry. Their miso soup is fresh and the perfect umami starter. Our favorite rolls are the volcano roll and Eddie’s special. Highly recommend you visiting if you haven’t already!

First time here. I had a great pleasant experience. My food came out quickly. My server was very attentive and the food was delicious. I will be coming back and totally recommend! 🍣🍣

My friend and I tried this place for the first time today. The menu was full of variety. She had the red chicken curry, and I had the steak udon. We both started with a clear soup. We both loved the lightness and strong onion flavor. I also had a small salad. The lettuce was so fresh and crisp, and the dressing was to die for. We also had a tempura roll filled with imitation crabmeat (on the house!). The breading was so light, and the yum-yum sauce served with it lived up to its name. Our meals were beautifully presented and of excellent quality. The steak was cooked exactly as I asked, and the vegetables tasted very fresh. The noodles and sauce were very good, as well. We finished the meal with their Red Bean Ice Cream, which was a wonderful treat. The server constantly checked on us to make sure we had enough to drink and to make sure we were enjoying our food. An overall great experience, and we'll definitely be going back!

What a great place for a lunch date. We ate the hibachi grill, which tasted 😋 amazing. The service is great and the staff is very attentive. I will for sure be going back, new favorite place.

We’ve tried food from here a few times. It is always fresh and delicious 😋. Never dined in but the inside of the restaurant looks great and friendly atmosphere. Last order places was King Salmon Rice, Sweet Potato Sushi Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice and Steak Fried Rice. Another time we’ve ordered Pad Thai Chicken with Noodles and Chicken Fried Rice. I would have loved a bit more seasoning on the steak. I didn’t know how it would turn out being my first time trying this dish. Other than that that, great place to eat for dine in, take out or delivery.

Sushi, crab Rangoon, and soup was very good. The waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere was very nice. Would recommend. Great experience.

I had the Chicken and Vegetable Tempura with Miso soup and fried rice. It is very good. The light tempura was excellent and large portions. Also the Salmon kouachi which us excellent, and king salmon hibachi is my favorite .

From the outside the restaurant looked closed with the blackout windows but inside the ambiance was amazing. The restaurant got very busy after we arrived which slowed down service so they gave us a complementary sampler while our meals arrived. We ordered the Phai Thai and Hibachi as pictured. Both meals were great, the seasoning was perfect and ingredients tasted fresh. We would definitely return and recommend the Fancy Q Sushi & Thai restaurant.

This is a very warm and welcoming restaurant. My family and I love coming here. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, everyone is friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderful.

It's a small restaurant with that modern Asian fusion style decor. The place is clean. The servers are always friendly. And the food has always been good quality and fresh, what more could you want. The prices here aren't bad either. Large menu. Very straightforward. It's super basic but sometimes that's all you are looking for and it's perfect.

My daughter and I ordered the sushi boat. Three others had 2 rolls each, and two guests had chicken dishes (they were large portions). We rarely go out for sushi. Just on special occasions. The spicy salmon was top notch as were all the other sushi we had including, yellow tail, Philly and california. All of the servers were kind and were excellent at getting what was asked. To top off the experience, the atomosphere was perfect (loved the lights). Pricing was solid as well. Will certainly be back!

Always excellent food. We had gotten takeout from Fancy-Q for years because it is convenient and so good. But after we ate in the restaurant once it became one of our favorite spots in Apopka. The food is great but the servers are phenomenal. We go a couple times a month and they remember our last order. And comment when we try new things. They are attentive and have an amazing memory for details. Can't say enough great things about this restaurant. *just tried the cowboy roll. New favorite!*

Ordered from this restaurant via Doordash and so glad I did! Food was delicious and super tasty and flavorful! Quality ingredients, fresh, good portions, packaged well and they added a special touch and sent me the Eddie special for free! It sure was a nice gesture! We had the spicy tuna sushi, fancy q sushi,, eel sushi, seaweed salad and the tempura crab special. Definitely will keep them as my go to place.

I knew I had to come back! I came in for lunch today and had a great experience. The food was delicious, the servers were so nice and the ambience was so peaceful. I got the lunch bento box and was not disappointed! Great price point and great quality. I will definitely be returning!

The food here was surprisingly good, and I mean that with utmost respect. As a sushi snob it’s hard to find good places to get sushi but the selection here was great. We’ve only ordered takeout here, but the front waiting area can be a bit crowded. Seating layout seemed a little crowded as well, but there were customers and the sushi was fresh.

Always on the hunt for good Japanese/Bento-type places. I'm strictly a California roll-type sushi guy (so not really a sushi guy), but I love me some great hibachi!! Found this place through a Google search while passing through the area about 30 mins from where we live. At first, I thought they were closed... it's located in a strip mall off a large parking lot, and if it weren't for the LED "open" sign, I'd have thought they were all locked up due to the literally black-out tinting on their parking lot-facing windows. To be fair, many FL businesses use tinting to help control temps inside, but this was SO dark I would've completely missed it being open if I hadn't tried the door. Upon entering, it was pretty small, but had a family feeling, and quite welcoming. I was seated immediately, and it was pretty crowded. There were a lot of nice looking sushi dishes being served as I passed by some of the tables! Nice background music, and easy to talk. I decided to go with a CA roll, and the hibachi scallops/shrimp dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that the scallops were the large sea scallops, and not the tiny bay scallops so many places serve. And the shrimp were nice-sized too! I started with the included bowl of Miso soup (very tasty) and the included ice cold crisp green salad with traditional ginger dressing... also tasty. They also brought me a complimentary 4-piece sampler fried/cooked sushi roll with a very savory sauce - excellent! The people next to me said they always serve that... wish I'd known, it was very good, and I had way too much food! Plus the CA roll, although, while I often order CA roll, and am quite accustomed to both imitation krab, and real crab options (this place only serve the imitation krab, but also points that out on their menu, which is nice, so you don't have to ask)... the CA roll left something to be desired. It was freshly made, but... can't quite place my finger on it... the quality of the imitation crab, and the other ingredients just didn't have the right fresh texture and taste... it was good, but... I've had far better. The dinner was served with mixed veggies and fried rice, PLUS noodles, in addition to the very generous portion of hibachi scallops and shrimp (5 large of each!). SO much food! The hibachi sauce was basically teriyaki, and nothing special, and the noodles weren't quite warm enough, but overall, the food was quite good. Really a nice meal. Not something I'd travel 30 mins for, but definitely would stop in again if I am in the area.

The food was okay, but the chicken didn’t taste fresh. The service was very poor. This was my first time here, and I didn’t feel welcomed. I asked the server what was good to eat, and she didn’t seem to know anything. The restaurant itself feels nice inside, but the service really needs improvement.

The shrimp and chicken pad thai was too sweet. They messed up my son’s sushi order. We ordered the Apopka roll but instead got what looked like a California roll/ avocado roll. This was a too go order

Ordered online and it said 10 minutes until ready. I arrive at restraunt 10 minutes later and then when I give them my name and phone number they say 10 minutes…. And during lunch you want your food quickly and at an accurate time. Haven’t tried the food yet but most likely won’t be back solely off of the timing.
