Our first visit to Dave’s Hot Chicken in Apple Valley, MN was impressive. The lobby was spotless, and the staff were super friendly, taking time to explain the menu to us newbies. One thing to note: their chicken portions are not small. Don’t let the word “slider” fool you; one sandwich easily fills you up. As for the heat levels, tread carefully. If you usually like it hot, go one level below your normal choice. I ordered “Very Hot,” and it was HOT. I can usually handle that level, but their seasoning packs extra fire. The flavor was fantastic, and the spice had real depth without just being burn. Highly recommend trying it out. Hopefully, they expand into central Minnesota soon, it’d be a welcome addition.

We stopped at McDonalds and ordered through there app. It went to a different store, so we canceled the order and said “let’s give Dave a try” we have had Canes many times, but this was our first time at Dave’s, and let me tell you, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! The food was absolutely amazing and way better than Canes. We will definitely be coming back.

We ate lunch here at noon on a Sunday in July 2025. This is a small place with counter service. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. I got an order of the hot bites which was 10 small boneless white meat nuggets, a slice of white bread, French fries and dill pickles. They also offer 7 levels of spice and I chose HOT which was very good. I would like to try very hot next time but I think the reaper level would be too much for me. The fries were crinkle cut, crisp outside and fluffy inside, with a light sprinkle of spice mix on them. They were great! The chicken was hot and juicy and I really enjoyed them. This was a very enjoyable experience.

This was Excellent Hot Chix!!! Had the #2 Dave’s deal in medium spice and the taste, texture and juiciness of the Chix was spectacular!!! The Lovely gals recommended I try the pure honey with the sandwich and it was Perfect!!! Sweet and spicy simultaneously and I liked it. This sandwich blows Hattie B’s away! Thank You for the fast and friendly service with delicious recommendations.

The extra hot is actually hot which I greatly appreciate. Mac n cheese is nice and creamy, just small for the price. Dave’s sauce tastes like Canes sauce but more tangy. Great customer service. Had to sign a waiver to try the Reaper chicken. Glad I found this place! Better than Popeyes and KFC in my opinion. I like heat!

Try the hottest one past. Please remind me of the early 90s. And the music playlist was awesome. The people really nice too I've been in fast food places. All my life and this one Man me smile Something I haven't done for a long time. Also the rocket drink is awesome.

We loved our first visit to Dave's Hot Chicken! We've heard his things from others and were excited to give it a try. We ordered the #2, which came with two sliders and fries. We ordered one of the sliders as the medium heat (which was just a pleasant chicken sandwich) and the other with the hot (a nice spice level, very good). The fries were seasoned perfectly. The chicken was really good quality, and the buns were great too. Nice sour pickles. So, definitely check this place out. My hubby and I have made it a goal to rank our favorite spicy chicken sandwiches over the years, and I'm happy to report that Dave's is now the reigning champ on my list!

I ate here for the first time and had the loaded fries. Overall very tasty but they should have more toppings (kale slaw/sauce) for that amount of fries, the chicken was a good portion (6 bites ) for the regular. I will come back to try the different heats the medium was good. The dining area and restroom were clean. Helpful and friendly staff.

One of my favorite spot for spicy fried chicken. It is the only spot where I can feel the heat. Thank you! Only complaint is that this location does not put much slaw on the sliders.

First time here. Menu is plain & easy. Got sliders and tenders on bread w seasoned fries. Drinks refillable. Wait is 5 minutes. Not bad. We both liked our sliders. Comes w kale slaw. Good. Pickles on side good ones. Heat of chicken. We got med. Both like med hot. Took one chicken home each & half the fries. Price for 2 w drinks. $ 34. Chicken was crunchy outside n tender inside. Give em a try.

Having 5 employees in the back it still took 20+ minutes for my food to be ready. Ordered extra slaw and it was not in the bag, apparently ranch is extra. No napkins in the dispenser for half the time I was waiting. The hot levels are "Minnesota hot" mild was nothing, medium was almost noticable, order accordingly. The chicken strip was good.but the slider was better. The amount of sauce is insufficient, don't be stingy with your "famous" sauce

It was decent. The breading on the chicken is very thin. Tastes healthier than most chicken places, but I'm not eating out to go healthy. Again quality ingrediants, and service. Just not what I'm looking for when I need a cheat day.

The chicken was good, the fries were good. In my opinion this placed is very overhyped. For myself I got a #2 and a drink and it was $20. The drinks are purchased separately 🤦🏽‍♂️. Also 2 strips at the place and fries are $12, so if you coming with the family make sure you are prepared to spend money. The inside decor is nice, bathrooms were clean, staff was super friendly. But the price is a turn off for me. Welcome to America. I would come back if I am in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place.

Chicken tenders were mediocre; they were a bit too heavily breaded and a bit mushy. I ordered the medium hot spiciness. Good heat but sauce was cloying. I did enjoy the crispy and flavorful fries. The dining area is bland; just a big space with tables and chairs.

I loveeeeee Dave’s! But this experience at this Dave’s was pretty sub par. Customer service was not great. They were distracted and all over the place. I order the saucy bites and I just would not waste your time on them. They are not worth the price and the staff didn’t fully sauce them either. I will be back because I love the sliders and tenders but I learned to not stray away from what works.

I like Dave’s Hot Chicken as a brand and I like the food on the menu. The quality of the food at this location is up to my expectation, when I get it. At this locations specifically I have had to double check and correct my order every single time. Either missing side upgrades or missing items or whole meals missing; this location has never gotten my order correct on the first try. The service is quite poor as well, as I frequently have to flag someone down from behind the counter to ask for my online order. I’ll continue to eat here, as it’s the only Dave’s location reasonably close, but I’ll continue to have to be aggressive to ask for my food and detailed to check that I get all my food.

Rude staff. Ordered well ahead of time, food “not ready yet” then the heavyset mexican guy put a bag in the warmer. Thirty minutes go buy, and we ask about our order. Turned out that original bag of food was ours. We were lied to and it seemed personal. I will not be back. If your gonna be petty what else will you do to my meal?

Come here if you want to wait 30+ minutes for your food. We ordered our food at 5:00PM and waited over 30+ minutes for our order, aka just one meal. The wait time here always takes longer than needed while the people up front aren’t doing anything and giving everyone attitude. I don’t know if they’re low staff or if the workers just have zero time management but management needs to start getting on top of it because this is absolutely ridiculous. It’s every single time we come here.

Overly loud. And when I order at the counter, pick up my own food and bus my own table, don’t ask for a tip. Bathrooms were out of both toilet paper and paper towels. Food was ok but falling apart. Overpriced for sure. First and last time here.

First and likely last time going there. I ordered the two piece tender meal hot, but I'm almost certain I got extra hot or reaper because it was borderline inedible. I thought maybe I was being a baby about the spice level so I had someone who eats spicy food (and habaneros as a snack) try them and he agreed it was definitely way above a hot spice level and said it burned his taste buds. Also, I'm not a huge mayo fan, but the amount of mayo was laughable.

This place has great food but the drive thru takes FOREVER. I’ve gone 3 times and it’s not busy, my husband went and waited 16 minutes in the drive thru despite being the only person there. How long does it take to make chicken…?
