Great food, ambiance, and friendliness. I came here because I read it was dog friendly, and it didn’t disappoint. I highly recommend for anyone taking a trip to the area with their pets. The staff were super accommodating and sweet.
Wow, absolutely delicious tasting good. The starters were delicious. Had the chorizo cheese dip and artichoke hearts. Then for my entree had the half baked chicken with this amazing sauce on top of it, with mashed potatoes and veggies. Very unique taste.
Server noticed I had a bandage on my finger and gave us some extra supplies which was very nice. Food was good, had a hideout burger. It was good atmosphere was rustic, but polished.
Locals love this place. We have tried just about everything on the menu. All good. They even have HOMEMADE potatoe chips!!!!that's a BIG plus❤️you can not go wrong.
Been going to Watsonville area for years & I recently found this "Hideout". Honestly everything about the place was phenomenal. From the customer service to the food. Everything exceeded my expectations. My group ordered the chicken wings & mac & cheese & I must say it was the best appetizers I've ever had. I ordered the Chipotle prawns & they were extraordinary! A must visit if you are ever in the area!🔥
I have lived about 5 minutes away for over 30 years. My husband and I are good cooks ,we think, so don’t eat out a lot. This is one of the 3-4 restaurants we always recommend to visitors and meet up with friends. Well prepared dishes, lovely waitstaff, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices considering the quality. I just ate here twice in the last week with visiting friends and it was great!
For our first time at The Hideout, it certainly did not disappoint! The vibe was energetic for a Saturday night. We sat at the bar while we waited for a table outside. The 3 staff members behind the bar were awesome. Attentive and focused on their craft - my husband gave the old fashioned a 9/10. Once we sat for dinner, our waiter was friendly and observant; checking in on us frequently and ensuring an enjoyable meal. I had the short ribs (whoa - so, so, tasty!). Portions were plentiful and the cost was more than reasonable. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place to eat in Aptos.
Great service and good portion size. We had chorizo queso dip with freshly made tortilla chips for a starter which was very good. My brother-in-law had the pastrami Reuben with sweet potato fries and I had the Cuban sandwich with fries. Plenty of leftovers. Service was excellent.
This place was chosen by my bestie as I hadn't been there since the fire. Atmosphere was friendly and perfect for us two. Service was spectacular and prompt. We didn't feel rushed and food was delicious. I had the chicken fettuccine. With one drink each and two dinners it came to a little over 100.00. A little pricey but i feel its worth it for a special occasion.
Head this way now! Casual eatery with delicious food and drinks. We sat on the patio and it was shaded just enough to keep the sun away. The truffle fries were devoured a millisecond after that photo was taken. The BLAT was flavorful and the burger was juicy. We highly recommend and my apologies for not catching the servers name. He had dark hair and was an Uncle. Fantastic service and food!
We had a great meal and service in a relaxed setting at The Hideout in Soquel. We tried the hamburgers and the seafood cioppino, and both were excellent. The burgers were cooked just right juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. The seafood cioppino was a standout: hearty and packed with fresh seafood, with a light, beautifully seasoned broth that let the flavors of the seafood shine without being overly rich. It was comforting, balanced, and delicious.
Let me tell you guys, first of all, I found this place only because my daughter played soccer in the high school near this amazing restaurant and I was hungry so I decided to find a place to eat and what a surprise it is really hidden place and it is limited on parking space but it is worth it to wait or manage to find a parking space. This restaurant has a beautiful outdoor fire pit with a sitting area if you want to relax and enjoy your drink or cocktail. The hostesses are so friendly, and you feel welcome. The servers are so helpful and knowledgeable about the specials and the rest of the menu. The food is just perfect. So if you want to have a great time, I highly recommend this amazing restaurant. I'll come back again and again and again. Actually, I'm on my way there, see ya.
Lunch with a friend on a lovely Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was contemporary and inviting. We were seated inside the restaurant by a very friendly host. I had Seared Tuna Salad which was delicious. Had the just the right amount of dressing and the tuna was seared perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly. This was my first visit to Hideout and really enjoyed it. I can't wait to come back with my husband. Revision... Took my husband for lunch. We shared a Cuban sandwich and a Caesar salad. Both excellent. Cuban sandwich served on sliced sourdough bread was surprisingly good. It was crispy outside, grilled in butter? and soft inside. Not at all soggy. Dijon aioli really helped with the pulled pork, which seemed to be a tad dry. The sliced pickles really made the sandwich. Caesar salad was very good with shaved parmesan cheese on top with freshly ground pepper. The dressing had all the main ingredients I like, such as garlic, anchovies, salt and acid. Yum! Although Bloody Mary was not on the menu, I was able to order it. Thank you! It wasn't the best I've had, but I enjoyed it.
Locally owned and delicious. We called ahead for a large table for a weekday lunch and truly appreciated the accommodations! Table was ready with waters, and the welcome was warm and genuine. Service was superb! Everyone enjoyed their meal! From salads to sandwiches to appetizer meals, we cleaned off the plates— great size portion and full of flavor. Great for small or big groups. Also known to be a great place in the evening. (They also generously support local schools.)
The Hideout is just like it's name implies - a restaurant nestled in Aptos off Highway 1 that features a great selection of American bites. I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a great experience. We sat in their outdoor patio, which was a really nice ambiance especially with the heat lamps on a chilly winter evening. There are quite a few people that will hover around but I'd argue it's still the best area in the house. I had the Hideout Salad (minus cheese and croutons on the side to make it fully vegan and plant-based) which was nice and refreshing. Loved the inclusion of pickled onions and chickpeas for protein. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries and those were also a great hit for the table. Everyone at my table really enjoyed their salads too so I'd recommend that if you're looking for something lighter and fresh. Limited parking outside the restaurant but you can park on the streets for free like we did. Watch out for cars when crossing over to the restaurant.
This is a high-end restaurant. The foods was good, but I wouldn't rave over it. The services was really good. Space is limited, and they have only a small parking lot.
We had a lovely time at The Hideout. The vibes were perfect, and the service was excellent and friendly. The truffle fries were seriously amazing, and the fried chicken sandwich was solid as well. The mac and cheese didn't quite do it for us (overall a wee bit bland/heavy), so I'm not sure I'd get that again. Overall would return!
For the price and image this place gives off, I was expecting a bit more. A few things to note: almost all of their mains come with the same sides. They are bland and boring. The linguine and clams comes with no bread, you have to spend 6$ extra for it. The spaghetti and meatballs should be called "spaghetti and meatball" as they only give you one meatball per order, this was almost funny, but ridiculous. The affogato was embarrassing. It was essentially a martini glass full of coffee with a tiny dollop of ice cream in the middle, covered in whip cream. you had to search for the ice cream, and it was almost completely melted by the time it reached our table, we ended up with a glass full of coffee. It was light colored, if it was espresso, they don't know how to pull a shot properly. It fet like a root beer float with coffee instead of root beer. The price of everything was insane. 50$ for a plate with a spoon full of steamed spinach, a small portion of scalloped potatoes and a 1/4 lb piece of meat. The scalloped potatoes were my favorite part. The spinach felt like rabbit food, steamed, unseasoned, boring but ungodly expensive. The arancini were alright but had a boring marinara sauce that didn't do much for the dish, and the arancini themselves were lacking flavor.
The place has a weird vibe, with no aloha at the bar. Obviously a locals joint where they come to try and impress each other. Expect to get slow and mediocre service if your from out of town, they cater to the grim Apsnobtos crowd ☹️ Our sandwiches were just ok, but the French fries tasted like the bagged frozen kind the restaurant supply trucks deliver….
