First of all, the associates are super friendly and passionate. Ramen is delicious and affordable. Its broth is definitely worth to stop by and give it a try. I personally highly recommend the original king and choose chef recommendation. Absolutely will come back soon and have the ramen again.

Very tasty ramen. Great and FAST service. Only minor complaints were that we had strangers share a table with us because we had an odd party size (5) and the table uses tissues instead of napkins (I prefer using napkins). Soooo first time coming here. Our friend hyped this place up so the expectations were high. It delivered. The red king ramen was the right level of spice (2) and not overpowering. The extra noodles were plentiful and I tasted the friend chicken. The friend chicken was really good. Our whole party found the food and service to be great. Worth checking out if you’re in the area. Again only minor complaints were that we had a group of strangers share a table with us and that they use tissues instead of napkins at the table. I prefer the feel of napkins. Other than that amazing place and worth dropping by if you’re craving ramen or in the area!

Very delicious ramen soup. The staff was very friendly. Nice location. A little bit loud though

I had heard really great things about Ramen Nagi and they did not disappoint! Unless you come right when they open, you will probably be waiting in line for a little bit to get a seat. No worries. Take that time to fill out your custom Ramen form. You can decide what kind of broth, how spicy, how much garlic, etc. Or you can let the chef decide. Also, make sure you get the Karaage fried chicken. There is enough to share for two! If you like Ramen, this place is a must visit! Highly recommended!

Very consistent in their quality and service. Love when a restaurant takes pride in what they serve and trains their staff well. There is only a few items on their menu... 2 types of ramen noodles and 4 types of broth. But what can I say? It was excellent. I tried both the Black and Green King. Both were surprising in their deliciousness. I've taken my family here and I've recommended it.

I got the red king (tonkatsu pork broth) light on salt and oil and regular thin noodles with the pork belly. This ramen spot is my new fave. Recommending this spot to my friends and family. Service was excellent, we got our food like minutes after we ordered and our waitress checked on us from time to time. Parking: was a mess since it’s in the mall so that’s the biggest challenge

I have heard the noise and hype of this place. All good feedbacks so I came a couple of weeks ago and had a good experience here. Highly recommended! The place is located inside Arcadia mall next to the south west entrance. Extremely easy to find this place especially its near the entrance and parking lot. We were greeted by a host before entering the store and she introduced the me u to us. Her information is clear and easy to understand but however she never introduced and tell us anything about the "black king" squid ink ramen which that was one of the options caught my attention. My fiancée and I ordered the original king along with the Gyoza. The Gyoza size is perfect, not too big and one bite size. The ramen noodles are good and you can adjust the thickness, noodle type and all others on the paper they give you when you order them. Their soup is delicious and rich and i was able to finished the whole bowl including the soup. Love this place!

Everything is really good, the ramen is so Japanese to the backbone and before have a seat, you will be requested for customizing your own flavor of soup and the texture of noodles. I like it and definitely will revisit.

Awesome place to get some great tasting ramen! The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff extremely friendly and of course, the food tasted great. We had the veggie king ramen with an egg add on and spice level 3. Very good. I would definitely add a higher spice next time I go. They have a cool custom menu that you fill out while waiting in line to stream line the process. Big fan of the organization! Highly recommend.

Ramen Nagi has officially become my favorite ramen spot in the states! I've indulged in both the Original and Black King flavors, and if you're craving a ramen bursting with richness, I highly recommend the Original. As for the Black King, it's a bit more subdued in my opinion, but still delicious in its own right. I haven't had the chance to try the Red King yet, but once I do, I'll make sure to update my review. However, my friends rave about it, so I'm already intrigued. When I visited on a weekday, the wait was non-existent, but be prepared for some craziness during the weekends. You get to customize your ramen with a little form once your at the front of the line. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere only added to the overall experience. This location is located inside the mall, right next to Wushiland.

Ordered Original King following the waiter's recommendation to order light if I wanted to drink the broth. So I checked Light Strength of Tare, Light Oil, and Light Garlic. I chose the Chashu, Green Onions, Level 1 Spicy, and Thin noodles normal. We also ordered a Karaage Chicken. The Ramen was very good, make sure to mix first so the spice mixes thoroughly. The broth definitely has a noticeable amount of fish base along with the usual pork base notes. I would say even though I ordered Light Strength of Tare, it is still a bit salty to consume all the broth so be careful of that. The Chashu sliced pork loin were wide pieces and very flavorful. The wood ear mushrooms were notable for being quite long slices which I'm not used to seeing at other places and I liked that there was a good amount of them. Noodles that I picked were very good, not very chewy but very smooth to eat. The Karaage chicken was served immediately, and they were still very hot from frying. The frying was sweet and crisp and the mayo-based sauce was really good too. Ambiance is very loud and busy, partly due to the size of the seating area too. be prepared to wait a bit in line, even near the end of the lunch rush on a Sunday.

I had a great experience at this ramen shop. The service was efficient, and the food was delivered very fast. On top of that, the ramen tasted really good. I ordered the Red King Ramen, and it was flavorful and satisfying. I’d definitely come back again.

Tucked away in Santa Anita Arcadia mall, Ramen Nagi isn't just a restaurant, it's a whirlwind of energy and umami. A friendly waiter greeted us even before we stepped inside, offering a menu breakdown that made even ramen newbies feel like pros. The moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a lively atmosphere. We'd made our selections: the Black King, the Red King, and a side of crispy karaage and an extra helping of the springy thin noodles. Our ramen arrived promptly. The signature tonkotsu broth, simmer for 24 hours, was a revelation. Rich, creamy, and deeply savory. The karaage had a delightful crunch, while the extra noodles were thin and springy. Ramen Nagi isn't just about food but an experience. It's about the efficient service that makes you feel valued, and the lively atmosphere is contagious.

Came here for lunch. It was very good, reminds me of Ichiran Ramen chain in Tokyo. The broth is rich and creamy. It's nice to be able to customize your ramen from the amount of oil to the firmness of your noodles. The karaage was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Nice to have a variety of free condiments on the table. I especially like the marinated bean sprouts. I saw people ordering the gyoza, but it'll have to be next time. All in all a great experience. A bit of Japan in SoCal.

Went during the week at opening for dinner as a party of 2. Staff were very friendly and thoroughly explained the menu and offer help when ordering. We made our selections and then were seated, all within 5 minutes. Water cups and a pitcher were waiting at the table for us along with a tissue box, condiments and chopsticks. The ramen came out within minutes and was delicious! Season bean sprouts were on the table along with peppercorn, sesame seeds, oil and soy - all could be added as need for flavor. Staff checked on us every 15 minutes or so and overall we had a great experience. You pay as you exit which is convenient. I hope to return again.

Went here afternoon and young lady handed out limited special menu that comes with soft shell crab. I personally love soft shell crab so why not. I got to choose level of spiciness and type of noodles. It was delightfully delicious. One bowl was very fulfilling but I was too hungry so I ordered some karaage chicken. It was very tasty. It was glazed with some sweet and salty sauce but not overpowering chicken flavor. Service was good and fast. I will be visiting here again whenever I’m in the area.

We tried it since it wasn’t busy. Service was attentive and the ambiance was nice. I got the black garlic ramen. It was delicious and full of garlic flavor. The line formed outside the restaurant when we left. I’m glad we got to try it without waiting in the long line.

Phenomenal all around. The food is fantastic. Everything was perfectly cooked, packed with flavour, and honestly reasonably priced for just how high quality it all tasted. The Red King was so damn good. Spicy, savory, and perfectly put together. You can customize your bowl to your liking including picking noodles, spice level, oil level, and pork belly (melt in your mouth delicious). We also had the chicken karaage, which was generously sized, crispy, and delicious. The seasonal beer was also a perfect compliment to the food. Everyone was really happy with the top notch service and fantastic food. 100% I will be back.

This place is legit. We came to Ramen Nagi at the Santa Anita Mall and had an amazing experience. I ordered the spicy ramen, and it was absolutely delicious packed with flavor and just the right level of heat. You get a lot of customization options, too like choosing between pork belly or pork loin slices (I went with pork belly, and it did not disappoint). We also ordered the gyoza and some fried chicken (can’t remember the exact name, but it was crispy, juicy, and addictive). Everyone in our group loved their meal, and we all said we would definitely come back again. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming. Just a heads-up: the place gets busy, so come early or be prepared to wait in line. They are open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and it is located right inside the Santa Anita Mall. Highly recommend this spot if you are craving solid, flavorful ramen and great service.

I haven’t ate here for about 2 years since I moved back to California, & everything was so on point! My server Fabricio was very kind & helpful with refreshing my memory on how to order. All the other servers were very attentive in making sure I was taken care of. The quality of the food was amazing as always, definitely my favorite ramen spot in California! I had the spicy king ramen with pork belly, chicken karaage, & the pork gyoza 😮‍💨🔥 just a reminder if they are busy please be patient with the staff, because the food & service is definitely worth the wait!

Their ordering system reminded me of the ramen shops in Japan like ichiran ramen where you can customize your ramen order. We had wait in small line when we went for dinner. Not too bad of wait. I ordered tonkotsu ramen, karage chicken and gyoza. The gyoza is made how I like with a crispy shell. Chicken was crispy and delicious. Enjoyed the thin noodles, and rich broth. Reminded of ichiran ramen. Over very good. I'll be coming back.

Kyle intercepted us at the entrance (it was me and my parents visiting the mall on a Wednesday afternoon), showed us the omotenashi sheet, explained to us how ordering works and gladly took us in. We ordered three regular original tonkotsu ramen, two with eggs. The whole service was amazing and fast, the karaage chicken was exceptionally good, the portions were generous and the price was reasonable. There is always an insane line outside of this restaurant in the evening, but today I came in the early afternoon and got lucky. 10/10 place. Highly recommended.

Solid ramen spot, got the classic ramen recommended by chef as well as their limited time curry ramen. Both options were filling and delicious. We’ve been to Nagi a number of times. It’s quite a busy place. We’ve found the best time to visit is weekday lunch. Otherwise, you could be waiting for 30+ minutes. They do have a system where you make your order selection while waiting in line. The server works very systematically for order taking, serving and payment process.

Ramen is pricey but it is consistent vs other ramen shops. All you can eat bean sprouts as part of assorted condiment station neatly stocked at each seating area. Speaking of seating if you partake in counter seating it is just like Japan style. You eat facing the wall in solitude . Try it . It's different experience if you never done before and perfect to totally being one with the ramen and savoring the tastes and slurping goodness. Vs talking with someone or doom scrolling on your phone . Sitting facing a wall 🧱 does this to you . Like sort of eating meditation . Oh Google that too! There is cue line but they are very efficient. Don't be turned off because there's a line they are efficient operation and you place order while in line and marker to order items on a paper so when you are seated by the time then short moment your order is delivered to you. At end of meal they hand you check and you walk up to front cashier to pay. If you had Ramen outside of the US namely Japan then this probably won't be the best tasting ramen you ever had. But if you are only experienced in US Ramen then I would say you won't be disappointed either. It's pretty good yes it is.

The food was good, but if you are party of more than 2 and there is a big line, better skip this place. Most of the tables seat 2, they optimize for table turnover. So party of 2 would get seated much earlier than a party of 3 or more.

A
Andrew S

The spicy ramen is excellent although I cannot recommend the regular tonkotsu because the broth does not compare to the other tonkotsu places like HiroNori, however the Spicy is a different story, the broth admittedly doesn’t suit my preferences but it’s a great choice for Spicy ramen lovers.

S
Sarah Sun

There was a line to get seated but you fill out the order form while waiting. I got the Original King with regular salt and garlic, thin noodles, and pork chasu. The broth was really good but noodle portion is a bit small and little meat. The chasu is also not marinated enough so not flavorful.

E
Eddie Martinez

I would recommend this spot. The ramen was tasty and the chicken karaage was fire. I got a level 2 and didn't find it spicy at all and neither did my son. Next time I go I'll skip the edamame as it was just ok and the gyozas were on the small side. FYI you can get the hot sauce on the side and the meat on the side just write it down on your paper when you order. Just keep in mind that they close 2:30-5PM everyday. We went on the weekend and there was a line to get in.

J
Jason Zhang

I ordered Red King, spicy lv2. Mince pork soup base, with added chili sauce (NOT powder) Overall a decent bowl of ramen, but I think the quality control could be better when they mixed up “ふつう” and “かたい”between my bowl of noodle and the kaetama. As for the pre-order-sheet-non-existence, but actually on the menu: Karaage, the breading is on the sweet and hard side, I will recommend to eat all of it soon as it arrives the table Overall, I will recommend trying this place.

C

Heard lots of good things about the place so I tried it out with friends for my bday. The wait was a while, but not terribly miserable. They do come around the line and pass out the ramen selection sheet so you can make up your mind on how you want your ramen so by the time you're in the restaurant all of that is ready to be turned in. Once we got in the ramen shop it is a bit small, but efficient. Food was served pretty quickly! I got level 1 spicy just because I've never had it before and to my surprise it is quite on the warm side which I enjoyed but could see that being a problem for some. I like that you could choose how firm you want your noodles cooked and I have to say these were the best noodles I've had. I pretty much chose everything on the chef's recommendation, but definitely lowering the salt and oil choices next time! Would recommend getting in line early because it's usually a long line and by the time it's your turn, you'll probably be hungry. If you go when you're already hungry.... welp, good luck and hope you dont get hangry!

Experience here is pretty authentic. I will definitely give it that! The line can be pretty long, but the staff make sure that it goes smoothly and that you have a menu before you enter, so you know what you're getting. I like when ramen shops have a limited menu and are good at making those specific items, I think this shop nails that. Ramens are pretty customizable via the order form. Broth was good but maybe slightly too oily for my taste, and the thin noodles weren't my favorite. Will definitely try the regular yellow noodles next time. Karaage is AMAZING, highly recommend. The gyoza and its sauce I wasn't a huge fan of despite it looking pretty unique. Overall I can recommend coming here but it doesn't make the top of my list of ramen shops in SoCal.

J
Julius Marzuki

Truly one of the best ramen I have eaten. Flavorful broth, I ordered with Black King with light salt and oil, normal garlic, chashu, green onion, level 8 spicy, thick firm noodles, and tamago. It was so good. Nothing much else to say about the ramen. I do recommend going during odd hours, because the line during lunch hours is very long.

b

Tried out this place for ramen noodles and it was pretty decent. Was never a fan or over priced ramen noodles when there are wide selections of ramen noodles in any Asian grocery store for a praction of the price. But this place was good. See the order menu to pick and choose your choices and they are many. I tried the black ink with 2 degrees of spiciness. We picked the broth to light so it’s not too salty! The protein of choice is char shiu(Japanese style) or pork belly. If you want more meat, order the char Shiu as the pork belly orde has only 2 pieces. Can order additional noodles if needed. When the noodle bowl is served, don’t forget to add the seasoning powder to enhance the flavor.

We waited a while before trying Ramen Nagi, hoping that the lines might have died down. There were still a lengthy line at 7 pm on a weekday, but the wait wasn't too bad -- about 15-20 minutes. We used the time in line to think and finalize what we wanted to order on the paper form, marking it with the pink marker given to us by the employees. We ordered the Original King with normal for all the options, with chashu, cabbage, and thin noodles. We added the $2 extra noodles order for that one (extra noodles are thin noodles only). We also got the Black King with normal for all options, along with chashu, cabbage, and thick noodles. We added the Japan style egg to that order. Not on the menu but mentioned by the restaurant is their karaage chicken, which we prompted added to our meal. The verdict is: 1. Karaage chicken is very delicious! Comes with six large pieces of battered white meat, with a slight sweet pepper glaze and a dipping sauce with chopped up egg whites. 2. We were confused at the size of the ramen in both our orders as they appeared to be the same size, even though we ordered one with thick noodles and one with thin noodles. We even took some from each bowl to compare the size lol. Turns out they messed up and put thick noodles for both our bowls. We realized this when we got the extra noodles order and that noodles was a lot thinner. After trying both, we both agreed we liked the thick noodles better. The thinner one is more al dente and requires a bit more chewing. 3. The Black King comes with a meatball that's made with black sesame, so we were warned not to mix it with the rest of the bowl, but rather grab a bit of it at a time as we eat our ramen. It did make the overall ramen dish taste sweeter, and BF and I both preferred the Original King instead. 4. Chashu was pretty lean from both orders and the broth in the Original King wasn't too thick nor too watery. A pretty satisfying bowl of noodles. 5. Make sure to add some freshly grated sesame seeds into your noodles for an extra oomph. They have that available with some other condiments on your table. 6. I'm happy that they didn't use any single-use, disposable plastic item. The bowls, plates, utensils, and water cups were all the reusable kind. That alone would make me a repeat customer. 7. Awesome music selection. We were both having such a good meal and then the music made it even better. Both BF and I perked up when we heard some songs from Bleach playing from their playlist and then it was over when several Mario songs came on! 8. Pretty good service, from the time we were waiting in line to when we were leaving. They even took the time after we paid to check in and ask how our meal went. Parking by the east side of Macy's will get you closest to Ramen Nagi. Plenty of other options around the spots near Macy's and the Promenade if you want shade or the east side parking is full.

:( Really sad about this experience, so let me start off with the positives. The staff were very friendly and explained everything, super cool! Then we were seated and they did this thing where they greet every customer joining the restaurant. They had a water pitcher at the table for you so that you don't have to call them over to re-fill, and they also had some toppings/seasonings readily available in containers also on the table! Now here's where the bad part kicks in. I was really excited because I was really trying to like ramen, maybe it's just not my thing, but this was the hardest ramen I've had to eat. The soup was waaaay too thick for my liking, it freaked me out a little bit because it felt gelatinous, which I heavily disliked. I ate the noodles but I really did not enjoy it at all, and I left feeling very sad. Like I said, it might not necessarily be the restaurant's fault for this, it might just be my taste buds? Considering they said their ramen is award winning overseas. Regardless, despite my review, I encourage everyone to give it their own try because it might be good to others!

sometimes i find a bone or fat in the chasu pork, the karage chicken can taste kinda odd at times. but none the less delicious broth and good flavor. Service is fast and efficient, workers always on it, sometimes can be neither friendly or rude just neutral. Atmosphere can get crowded at times and loud but overall clean and larger than most ramen nagis.

Ramen shop next to wushiland! You’ll see a line so you won’t miss it! When you wait in line, someone will hand you the paper to fill out. Once you enter, they’ll pick it up and within 10 min, your food will come out. Their condiments are pretty nice they have small veggies inside too! One is bean sprouts and the other is spicy, not too sure what it was. I was told if you like the soup, you should go with light light light, on the menu. And no you won’t lose that salty flavor by young light. The flavor is still there. Their ramen was good! The noodles were perfect for me. You can choose how firm you want your noodles. I liked their soup. It wasn’t too thick or thin. I eat my noodles with soup every bite. Chashu was not my favorite because it was difficult to chew. I’d want to try the pork belly next time I go. Special karaage. It was okay. The batter was too thick in my opinion. There was also a lot of fatty parts and not enough meat. As for the price, it was okay. The karaage was more expensive than I thought. It was their special for that day I believed. Parking: this spot is inside the mall, so it won’t be difficult to find parking. If you want to park closer, go towards Macy!

Ramen: soup is piping hot and we loved it. It is yet too oily and salty to our tastes. The service is prompt and standard. After they took your order and served you the food, no service after that. We won’t go back again though because after we came home, my stomach was growling hard and I felt that the stomach was working hard to digest the food. Not a good feeling. It lasted until the next morning. My husband felt the same way and he had to run to the toilet a few times. I don’t think it’s the sanitary problem. It is the greasiness that we couldn’t take.

The food looks delicious, but the taste is just okay (a little too oily to me). Red ramen is good one. The service was good, but I felt the server was a bit pushy.

We didn’t think it was extraordinary, just the average. The good thing is the choices you can make for your ramen. The atmosphere was horrible. The music was extremely loud and fast. Everything you expect for eating a peaceful meal. The staffs were ok.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - DISCRIMINATION AND UNFAIR TREATMENT! Located in the Arcadia mall, I’ve always seen a long line here, so we decided to finally give it a try today. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly disappointing. When it was our turn in line, the host completely skipped us, asked the party behind us for their headcount, and handed them an order sheet. We initially thought it was just a misunderstanding, so we politely spoke up, letting them know we were a party of four and were ahead of them in line. Only then did they hand us our order sheet. However, it didn't stop there. The host came back out and skipped us again to explain the menu and signature dishes to the party behind us. The final straw was when they completely bypassed us and seated that party first! We confronted the staff about this unacceptable behavior and immediately left the restaurant. No matter how good the food might be, it is absolutely not worth being treated differently and facing this kind of blatant discrimination. Terrible experience.

⭐⭐ Man... It's with a heavy heart that I have to knock down so many stars from this place! 😩 In between my last review, and this latest recent visit, they messed up our order, and charged us $2 more. Fine. I'll still tip them. But this latest go around, our food took extra longer than usual. We didn't get any cups to drink water while we waited for the noodles. Worst yet, I asked for extra slices of chashu pork, and that came out before the noodles, meaning I had to shoo away flies constantly, while the meat was sitting out in room temperature for a long time. The extra meat should have came out at the same time with the noodles, so that you could immediately dump it in the hot broth! Instead, it was just sitting out there to let it sit out there in room temperature so that foodborne illnesses grow exponentially! This is most likely what caused my stomach issues later that evening, and into the next morning. That's not including how they messed up my girlfriend's order and forgot the egg. I hope I'm wrong, but it feels like this place is going downhill. Can management please treat their staff better, and improve the process so this doesn't happen again? ===UPDATE 1 month ago=== ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The last time I came here and tried their chicken karaage, wasn't perfect like the first time. Still crispy skin, which was good, but I did feel the meat inside was a bit on the overcooked side. Otherwise though, not much has changed about this place. I'd still come back [as long as I can beat the crowds]. ===Previous review from 2 years prior=== ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good Ramen! Rich flavor! Most places skimp on the pork slice portions, but I felt like the meat & noodle ratio was great with this place. I didn't run out of pork before finishing off the noodles. And they stayed springy throughout! I do hate them for mentioning their Chicken Karaage. Ended up eating more than I planned! It was the perfect crunch on the outside, with plenty of juice on the in, and the honey + soy sauce glaze was EXCELLENT! Totally better than that other place that has to come up with a gimmick like "lobster broth" to attract unsuspecting fools.
