The pizzas we had were great. Spinach pesto and one of their specialties. The crust is really unique and has a great crunch.

Very unique pizza crust made with corn meal. I love it. Multiple types of cheese and fresh garlic make this one of my favorite pizzas! Only got 2 pieces, next time I will order a whole pizza for myself.

The food here is fresh and delicious. I have enjoyed their beet salad for years. Also good quality! The penne with fresh sauce is delicious! The waiter is very personable and makes you feel at home immediately.

My first time visiting Zelo. Family operated...Best pizza I've had in Forever! They make a speciality crust with Corn Meal and it is excellent! Crispy, yet substantial, and it never gets soggy. Try the Corn pizza, with goat cheese, grilled onions,corn, and a sweet and sour sauce. Sounds weird, I know, but it's mighty tasty! Bon appetit!

Some of the best deep-dish style pizza around! Seriously, go here now. Go. Do it. I especially love the sausage pizza (because it's amazing) -- but do yourself a favor, if there's two of you, get half sausage, half something else they're having on special. As for the salads, I still dream about the beet salad -- yes, it's that good. Even though I live in The Valley, it's always worth coming here. ProTip: You can get the pizzas "half baked." That means you can take it home, crank up your oven and cook it yourself that night for dinner. Open up a cold one or two, maybe some wine instead, and yes, you're in for a fantastic night.

We love this place. Weve taken several out of towners there and they love it too. Just took my nephew and nieces from Austin Texas and they agreed it was in top 5 restaurants theyve been to. The corn meal pizzas are so great, the beet salad excellent, and the penne fresh pasta has the best sauce ever.

I have enjoyed every slice of pizza and beet salad since it first opened its doors. Sadly, I live far away from Zelos these days. Still, this is always my go to spot when I'm in the Pasadena area. Always a treat, and a wonderful place to meet up with friends and fam.

Went here on a whim and it DID NOT disappoint. Pizza is good and doesn't leave you in a food coma. Pasta and the fresh sauce was AMAZING. Wish they bottled and sold it. Will be returning.

Pizzas, salads, and veg lasagne are always tasty & wonderful. Ask about the pizza & salad of the week, as they have seasonal options. Pizzas are 1 size only, on gluten-free cornmeal crust. Beet salad, asparagus salad, & corn pizza are winners every time. Lettuce pieces in the salad can be a bit big. Vinaigrettes are made in-house. You can always ask about ingredients, and they can accommodate most folks with food allergies. Garlic bread isn't anything special. Go for the pastas, pizzas, and salads. Anything with carmelized onions, mushrooms, or their house-made sausage is delicious and satisfying.

I was on my lunch driving around looking for a pizza spot and I came across Zelo Pizza. Ordered a slice over the phone and was ready and fresh out the oven right when I walked in. One of my favorite pizza joints. Their cornmeal deep dish crust offers a unique, hearty and satisfying experience. Can order by the slice so you can try a few of their options. The corn pizza is a must try. If you don't come in with expecting a NY slice, Chicago deep dish or Neapolitan taste and texture, you won't be disappointed.

This is the best pizza anywhere. We drive in a lot of traffic to get it. It’s heaven! We always take it to go as the eating ambiance isn’t great. It travels well and heats up nicely the next day. Love this food!

Zelo's pizza is unique in the region. Deep dish, on a cornmeal crust, with well thought out combinations of toppings. Unlike your typical fast delivery pizza, you don't get to pick and choose, but they will add their house sausage on request. They sell by the slice, half, or whole pie. We find that two slices per person is a reasonably filling dinner, especially if we include one of their seasonal salads. They recently expanded their seating, so it is easier to get a table at busy times. We strongly recommend giving Mike's interesting pizzas a try!

A group of us went to enjoy a meat free evening. Started with an asparagus salad, veggie pizza, and vegetarian lasagna. Our appetites were craving more so we ordered another pizza but went with a special that had several kinds of mushrooms, basil, and sun dried tomatoes. EVERYTHING WAS FABULOUS! The staff was knowledgeable and personable...great customer service.

OMG! My first time but certainly not my last. I went with my cousin. She has been going there for a number of years and also a good friend of mine. Where do I start? The staff are warm and friendly. Then you get to the good stuff. We split a large Beet salad. Zelo is very generous with their portions. I had a slice of the Pesto Pizza with fresh Basil on top. We split the one and only desert they serve, which again is very generous size. I will be back soon,

I love the cornmeal crust of the pizza and rotating specials. Delicious food and a friendly staff always makes for a great meal. Update: Just went back for a family birthday, same great service and delicious pizza. Enjoyed the beet salad this time too. I wanted to get the lady fingers cake, but we already had a birthday cake at home. Hopefully next time.

What a gem. I now wish every place had corn crust. I was VERY wary of it but it just tasted great and all the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. Tried the pesto, peperoni and sausage and they were all great but the Sausage (made by them) one is amazing and I usually don't like sausage or pepperoni (wife does) but this was just so tasty. Service was also A+. AND Budget friendly, 4 big slices and 2 beers under $30

This is such a cool place; it totally gives you that rocker vibe. My friend took me to this home style restaurant as I was in town. We had pizzas and the veggies lasagna - a very enjoyable afternoon.

I moved away from the area several years ago and had not gotten to go to Zelo and all those years. Tonight I went there with my son and it was absolutely fantastic. It was just as good as I remembered and it was fun. it's Unique pizza because the crust is made with cornmeal and they use unusual toppings. There was lots of cheese which was simply scrumptious. They have a nice selection of craft beers as well. Don't miss it

First time here and I’ll definitely be coming back. I was greeted warmly and explained this was my first visit so I wasn’t sure what to get. The guy at the counter patiently talked about how their pizzas are made with cornmeal, and everything was really good, a nice little hole in the wall spot here in Arcadia. I asked what slices they had available thinking of those pizza places that make a couple pies each day and just heat it up, but everything was made fresh to order including the single slices! He told me what the specials were and that the salami toscano was really good. I went with a slice of that. He rung me up and said it’ll take about 8 mins or so. After about 7 mins things started to smell really good in there! The chef handed me my slice, nicely wrapped in wax paper and into a paper bag and told me to enjoy and to come back again. 😊 though we forgot the napkins, whoops When I got home 20 mins later, I was again surprised to find that the crust was still crunchy! It was so good! The blue cheese was a little funky and rich, so maybe a little marinara sauce would’ve helped cut the richness. There’s plenty of seating inside and some tables outside. And I loved the music they’d had playing. As I was leaving a group came in for a birthday I think. The workers quickly got them seated and situated with water, plates and utensils. And put the cake in the fridge. Everyone who worked there seemed really friendly and I appreciate the care and attention they had, even into my single slice of pizza. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying all of the other pizzas! Thank you :)

Zelo’s serves up yummy corn crust pizza that never disappoints! staff is friendly and down to earth. seems like they like working there well enough. pizza is HEARTY! with a salad i was able to get 2-3 meals out of one pie. we got the sausage and the veggie. the pesto and corn are other favorites. highly recommend treating yourself here. can order by the slice, as halves or a whole. call ahead if you are in a rush.

The cornmeal crust is incredibly unique and tasty, and honestly lends itself to a pizza category of its own. It has a crunch to the outside, while remaining soft on the inside, and holds the pizza toppings better than any crust I've had. Not only the crust tho, the toppings were well put together and obviously fresh, this is truly gourmet pizza lover's pizza. My wife is a pasta fanatic and had to try the pasta. We agree the components made by the resto (meatballs/sauce) were good, with the meatballs especially a standout. Tho the pasta noodles themselves were really average. She enjoyed it but prolly wouldn't get it again. Lastly the homemade Zucotto cake was out of this world, definitely worth checking out 🤤 Can't wait to stop by again when passing through LA! Also made for great leftovers!

Great food, excellent service and a nice hometown atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Seemed to be a popular spot for local families as well. I will definitely be returning. Also, gotta mention that I really liked whatever music playlist they had going during our visit. Fun mix of what I think was postpunk deep cuts. Worked for me!

Technically this is in N Arcadia but that’s not the point. When I walked in I was kindly greeted by Rob. Immediately I was brought water which was appreciated after my hike this morning. The beer selection was appropriate, the service was perfect and the best part; the pizza was amazing. I had a half veggie (3 slices) and ate it all, they say 1-2 fills ya up though. One of our favorites for lunch! I love their beet salad, we find every thing to be done well. Service has always been tip-top, and this visit was no exception!

Great tasting pizza, great cormeal crusts. Pesto pizza is amazing but a tad too oily. Corn and caramelized red onion pizza is amazing. Beet and gorgonzola and walnut salad is delicious. I was not a huge fan of the not-too-flavorful/acidic tomato sauce. Service was slow and innatentive for our party of 11 despite being less than busy. A few improvements and 5 stars all day!

Zelos has been consistently great for years and I have yet to have a bad pizza there. Love the cracker-like crust and gourmet quality toppings! My faves are the Roasted Corn and Caramelized Onion pizza, Potato Pancetta Rosemary pizza (when on the specials board) and their lovely Beet Salad. Toppings are generous and pizza is cooked to perfection.

The pizza is amazing. Salads are OK. The wait staff is young... and often more interested in socializing with each other than taking care of customers. On my last visit our waiter forgot a number of things. Including to put our order in with the kitchen. We ended up being there for almost two hours. And no one apologized.

I will definitely be back for the works penne pasta! So good. There isn't much of an atmosphere, waiters are chill, they come around every now and then. But food is served hot. I wish they had a bigger wine selection, but they don't mind if you bring your own bottle. I'm not sure they have a cork fee. We did try the pizza. It was good, but the pasta was better.

I upped my review because; It seems they are really trying with customers, I sat outside a few times and it was wonderful. They really made sure we were comfortable. Also, one night we came and it was rainy and cold, close to closing time too. They sat us right away and asked us if we knew what we wanted right then, as the kitchen was closing. Nice. The cornmeal crust pizza is absolutely to die for. And their lasagna is drool worthy. We call in orders and come get them, for now.

So, I am a native New Yorker raised on oily sloppy slices of thin crust pizza made with NY water. I gotta say that Zelo pie is dense and different. The corn meal crust tastes better than the great bagel dough of Abbot Kinney. One slice will accomplish what it used to take a whole pie to do. Tables outside too plus the staff is very sweet. I would give it 5 stars, except I can't give any pizza the full five...now if it was Cioppino, that would be diff.

It's deep-dish style, and the cornmeal flavor and texture are so unique and sets it apart in my opinion from other pizza joints. It's crispy, crunchy, and meal-y. Two slices are super filling. I tasted fresh ingredients for the sausage pizza, and just perfect marinated peppers, eggplant, onions, and mushrooms on each slice. Our party also tried appetizer meatballs and garlic bread, and they were good for the meat-eaters in our dining party. Our only mistake - we need leave room for dessert next time! Everyone was nice and offered to take our group picture after dinner. What a special space, with a neat mix of Americana and music and pop culture memorabilia adorning the walls. The friendly and responsive staff really put up with our (many) questions. Whoever was playing DJ that night for ambiance— you have incredible music taste. I heard songs that made me bust out my music ID app a few times!

The pizza is amazing. Salads are OK. The wait staff is young... and often more interested in socializing with each other than taking care of customers. On my last visit our waiter forgot a number of things. Including to put our order in with the kitchen. We ended up being there for almost two hours. And no one apologized.

I absolutely love their pizza! The reason I gave it 3 stars is that the restaurant is in desperate need to be renovated or at a minimum a deep cleaning and new paint. Dirty tables, seats and filthy walls. Kitchen floor is also really dirty…I would think after this pandemic most restaurants would be on top of their cleaning game.

I've been here a few times, they have great deep dish cornmeal crusted pizza and a mean beet salad. We were completely forgotten the last time we came here. They apparently lost our ticket, so we weren't served any food for about 45 minutes, even though there maybe three other groups total in the restaurant. They gave us some snacks to nosh on when they realized, but it took a really long time. A two/two and a half hour pizza dinner was not what we originally planned.

It's well made, but for a New Yorker that spent college in Chicago... This isn't a pizza, it's a cornmeal crust cheese casserole. Their ingredients are good and the flavors are good too. But for me, it's not quite as good as good deep dish. Other than the novelty, it's not worth for me. The search for decent pizza in So Cal continues.

It was a big turn off to see two employees smoking weed on their break behind the restaurant. Is working at a pizza place that stressful your fix can't wait until you get home? The pizza was good the price was high.

We heard something good about this place so we went to eat at Zelo after a hard day at packing for a moving. The waiter was very friendly; salad we ordered wasn't fresh. Forks were not exactly clean. We requested a new salad & found dish was re shuffled & regenerated was oily. However the corn crusted pazza was something different and was good taste

Too thick and too expensive! 36 dollars for one large pizza which was pretty much a medium in diameter. The toppings were good and the pizza was dense with the cornmeal crust. If that’s your favorite style of pizza this might be for you, but it’s not for me.

I asked them to add tomato sauce to pizza in a delivery. They didn't do it. When I called in to ask about it the guy who answered the phone made fun of me, refused to talk to me, and handed the phone to someone else. The first guy then mocked me to the other employees while I could hear him. They have a lot to learn about customer service.

Good food when they get it rite. The dudes look high/drunk, friendly but talk too much and mess up the orders quite a bit. It's like the King of The Hill crew workin on your food.

I'm so disappointed. This place has raving reviews, so I don't quite understand the tasteless disc of cornmeal crust covered in soggy warm ingredients and no sauce sitting on my table. I bought a slice of their cake too! $50 flipping dollars. For disappointment. I wish I could give zero stars.

Terrible customer service. I wanted pizza and their hours indicate that they are open until 9pm. So I drove all the way there. Arrived 8:30 p.m. and was told by a lady at the register that they shut their pizza oven off 30 minutes before closing, but I can order any pasta or salad. Ok. I ordered lasagna. Then she came back and said all of the pastas use the oven, too, so all I can order is salad. I asked to speak to the supervisor and two gentlemen who didn't appear bathed (which made me happy they weren't preparing my food), walked up to me. I told them I had driven there for pizza and I understood if they wanted to stop seating people at 8:30pm, but it's ridiculous that they don't serve anything hot for a half hour before closing - and that their website should state that. They both told me, "We can do whatever we want to." Me too, hence this review. Based upon poor customer service and, shall we say, staff presentation, I won't be back and I would recommend others choose another pizza place that actually sells pizza.

Brought my six-year-old here to try their pizza after school. The pizza was hard and burnt. I would not come back on a sidenote their service was good and friendly..

I will not eat here ever again, and I strongly suggest no one else does either. I witnessed the cooks not wearing gloves and handling all the food. In the time that I was noticing this, I had not seen one single person wash their hands. The place looks like it hasnt been properly cleaned in decades. Just when I thought that place couldnt get any worse, I went to the bathroom. The cleanliness of the bathrooms in a restaurant tell you how clean the kitchen is. 🤢🤮 To make matters worse, on my way out of the bathroom, I noticed a few rat traps in the sink area of the kitchen. Does anyone clean in there ever? What about having a food handlers? Seems like no one is aware of these things or they just dont care? The food was talked up only for it to be subpar. The dough of the pizza was terrible. Its a shame because years ago this place was so good. And the dough was to die for. Though I had never actually dined in until recently. Had always gotten my food to go. Should have stuck to that. Oh, and get this, my server was drunk and openly drinking beers in the kitchen. Such a shame seeing places be ruined. Thought about not leaving this review but a friend of mine changed my mind and convinced me to inform others. Stay safe out there everyone. Dont go get yourself sick from Zelo.
