What a great place. Love their breakfast, they are open 24hrs and they can do enough to make you happy. The New West Chester Diner just keeps hitting homeruns everytime I go.
This is probably my favorite diner for breakfast in York, PA. They serve you pretty quick and they have good quality food. Their coffee is always piping hot. For that alone I'd go there. They have these cinnamon swirl pancakes topped with cream cheese frosting swirls. That, is to die for. They serve them nice and hot and I slather it with profuse amounts of butter that melts into the pancakes making them soft. I then drown them in syrup and go to town. I usually get the pancakes with an order of soft scrambled eggs, sourdough toast and home fries. The waitress is constantly checking on me to top up my coffee. They keep you pretty comfortable at your table. A huge shout out to those wonderful waitresses. Nice familiarity feel atmosphere happens here.
We’ve now been to the New West Chester Diner three times, once for breakfast and twice for dinner - and every visit has been really good. The food has always been delicious and the service truly top-notch. We went again tonight and I was glad to see it was more crowded than our last dinner visit, but there was no wait at all for our party of five. A few of us even opted for breakfast for dinner. As we were packing up a leftover pancake (they’re huge!), some egg yolk accidentally got on it. The manager noticed and immediately brought us a fresh pancake without hesitation. Such a thoughtful gesture and great customer service. We’ll definitely be back.
My expectations for food were set very low, especially after reading all the reviews. My group chose to have dinner here, so I thought I'd just have some appetizer and eat at home later. But I was immediately intrigued by the salad bar by the entrance. I chose a meal that comes with the salad bar and soup, and it was absolutely delicious. Chicken parm was fresh and melt in your mouth kind of good. The soup of the day, chicken noodle, was AMAZING. Absolutely perfect broth. Our waiter, Martin, was super attentive and friendly, he patiently put up with our big loud grip for 2 hours I would go back here for meal in a heartbeat.
On my way out to Exton I stopped in for a late lunch. I was very impressed with the food and service. The salad bar was excellent . Sue was very sweet and took good care of me. Jen also was very welcoming and checked on me throughout my meal. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend
Took my daughter here after a hockey game and the food was excellent. Really hit the spot. If you’re a fan of diner coffee & food, they hit it on the head. Martin was our server and he was awesome to both me and my kid.
It provides an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. We went on a Friday afternoon around 5 pm and were seated quickly by a smiling, friendly server. The three of us had omelets for our meal. We were served quality food for a reasonable price. If you're in the West Chester, PA area on West Chester Pike, I'd recommend making this a meal stop.
I had a great experience at the new diner. Our server was kind with a sociable personality. They also have gluten free alternatives for anyone with Celiac or gluten intolerance! Options were GF English muffins, toast, bagels and French toast. So happy to have a diner that has gluten free alternatives that actually taste good 😁
This is a diner with typical diner atmosphere. Booths and tables. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Being from the midwest I was looking for an authentic, traditional Philly Cheese Steak. While I didn't see this on the menu when I asked they were quick to reassure me that yes they could prepare one for me. It was excellent. I am so glad I asked. Staff was friendly, with several of them stopping by the table to ask how I enjoyed my sandwich. Normally the sandwich would have come with fries, which they were able to delete at my request.
west Chester Diner is wonderful! I always try to make it a point to eat here whenever I'm in town. This is maybe the third or fourth time I've been here and each time I've been here I've encountered THE NICEST employees not only turning out great food but GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND to be kind, inclusive, and nice ALWAYS. I want to single out Colleen, Donna and Elaine today. They're so attentive, observant, following up with everyone dining here and making sure we're happy and everything is JUST how we want it, even when almost every table is full as it was when I arrived here . Elaine was my server and she could not have been nicer!
Finally I get to eat breakfast items after a while. And I must say I’m impressed. I ate the blueberry pancakes, it’s everything I remember, so good, and hash brown patties. They were so tasty, I love the crunch, and it has a right amount of flavor. Keep up the great work 👍😉! I even found my favorite soda which is orange soda. I’m really thrilled of what this place has to offer.
Upholstery has seen better days, the salad bar and desert display seem to be after thoughts for their placements make little sense and it all contributes to making this place is absolutely wonderful. Tables, silverware, chairs, and facilities are clean. We really enjoyed our experience here. Good value for tasty food. Good service. A definite gem to find on a road trip.

Stopped here while working and needed to review some work via laptop. Free WiFi available. The salad bar is good. Very few places offer a full salad bar anymore. Everything on the salad bar was fresh. The chicken parm was really good. Noodles weren't overdone and the sauce was savory sweet. The food was hot! Which is awesome for how cold its been. So much food that I asked for a take home box when the food came out. Tables and floors were very clean. The restroom was well stocked and clean. As diners sometimes are--a bit outdated. Darker colors. The decor doesn't feel dirty, just a little outdated. I would definitely come back. Food for thought for the owners: What is your best dish? What would your customers say makes you stand out? What do you want to stand out for? Diner aside--the food is really solid. Find 1 thing and do it the absolute best than everyone else around here. The people will come.
Pancakes were dry. My kids weren't too impressed by them so they ate some of our food. Their hash browns looked and tasted delicious!!! Actually shredded potatoes opposed to the sliced ones. We were visiting from out of town for a tournament. I would recommend this place!! Just not the pancakes. The staff was great!

The experience we had was okay. Nothing terrible or great. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good. We had the Spicy Cajun Benedict that was cooked fine, but nothing was very Cajun or Spicy about it. We ordered the short stack combo and got two pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. The pancakes were good. The bathrooms smelled fresh, but the toilets needed some cleaning attention, and the women's hand dryer didn't work. The food was really just not what we were expecting. You'd expect paying 40 dollars for a panini, a wrap, and mozarella sticks you'd be getting a good amount of sticks and good cooked food. Unfortunately, 5 moz sticks for $10 and very underwhelming food for their price is what we got. I'd just save my time and go somewhere with better food. Also, way too many menu items. Was there this past Sunday for breakfast n the worst experience. Food is way too overpriced and my service was horrible we were sited against the wall by the desert case I don’t what was going on with the server but she seemed in a really bad mood. Had a mixed experience here. To start, the waitress I had was absolutely amazing. Friendly, efficient, and frequently checked in to see how things are going. I don’t remember her name but she was from like mexico or ecuador or one of those types of countries. But the food really wasn’t great. Great food and service but I have a bone to pick! They told our large networking group that has been coming there for a while that there is now some sort of minimum so we no longer meet there. Makes no sense the place was dead on Thursday mornings when we met there. I guess myself and 20+ others that attended this network group will no longer support a local businuess that Dosent support a local network group. This is the worst diner I’ve ever eaten at and as you can see for yourself the customer service isn’t very friendly as you can literally watch the new owner trying to aggressively argue/ rebuttal every negative review that someone leaves. If you’re looking for a good meal do not come here, the food is extremely over priced for the quality that you get. I ate here last week and was very disappointed with a skimpy bland cheesesteak and dry cake . I’ve tried this place several times and every time ends in disappointment.
When I heard this place was under new management I was excited to try it. Especially since this night wasn't going great and needed some cheering up. Walking in greeter was kind of awkward and made my boyfriend and I feel a bit uneasy. We ordered hot tea to start, and unfortunately my bf got a dirty glass and got bits of dirt in his mouth from drinking the tea. We inspected it, it wasn't a burst teabag or tea leaves.. he ordered a buffalo chicken cheese steak which was some how dry, and also dripping wet.. the blue cheese he got on the side for it was sour. I decided to play it safe and got breakfast. The eggs were good, cooked to order, sausages on the other hand were pretty bad, and tiny. I was excited when I saw they had waffles here, so I ordered them with fresh strawberries. However, when they came out they had glazed strawberries and blueberries?... Which was another option. Now normally I wouldn't care, but when I mentioned that I asked for the fresh strawberries not the glazed she admitted she knew, and that they were out of fresh so decided to give me the glazed without asking.. unfortunately I am allergic to high fructose corn syrup, which was obviously in the glaze. I admit I shouldn't have eaten it but I was hungry, so I suffered. I think they need to go though there kitchen and clean. Sadly this place made me feel sick and uncomfortable on a night I really needed something nice. Quite a shame. 😕
COME ON… How hard is it to make an omelette??? Walked in, Julie was our server and was super pleasant & very friendly OJ & a decaf with ice My partner had a Mexican omelette & home fries well done with onions I wanted a spinach & onion omelette & in diners i always ask if the spinach is frozen (& if the mushrooms are canned) i was informed that the spinach is frozen… so i ordered the meat lovers special omelette, a side of scrapple & home fries well done with onions & a side of hollandaise Food came out in about 20 mins, home fries weren’t home fries (they are hashbrowns even though states home fries on the menu) My partner’s omelette was “the top 3 worst items she’s ordered in a restaurant” My omelette was overcooked & dried out, an omelette should be fluffy & moist, it’s as if they added a drying agent to the eggs, or some sort of additive to bulk up the eggs. My Hollandaise was broken (meaning the fat had separated from the solid, this can be expected from a homemade Hollandaise that was held incorrectly, but this was a packaged Hollandaise that had separated as if it was microwaved) Best part of the meal was Julie & the scrapple… a thick cut as opposed to the 2 thin cuts you get elsewhere OWNERS Limit your menu, GET A BETTER QUALITY OF FOOD, this is a horrible example of a diner quality food. My expectations are already lowered when entering a diner, but this was a subpar meal with zero attempt for technique or a standard of quality
The waitress was nice. The food was horrible. Chicken quesadilla was nothing but grease and had raw onions in it. Roast beef dinner was like roast beef deli meat and barely mashed potatoes. French fries tasted like seafood because they probably haven't changed the fryer oil in weeks. We didn't finish any of our food. Absolutely terrible. Haven't been to this place in over a decade and it has declined. Do not eat here. Surprised I didn't get sick.
