The whole place was really nice. The food was good but needed a little more seasoning in some cases but outside of that the service was great, attentive and we were even checked in by a manage or possibly the owner. The server was sweet as can be.

First time visit first impressions were that it's a very nice restaurant and very clean. Staff was very friendly and I had a great time. I ordered the chicken fajitas for lunch. I like that they added the tomatoes. Nice char on the veggies. One thing to note is that the chicken that comes with the fajitas is cut fairly thick, I checked and you can request that it be cut thinner. Flavor was very good. I would definitely order it again. Looking forward to my next visit. Just need to decide what I'm going to try next

This was our very first time at this Mexican restaurant. Free parking outside the restaurant. There’s bar seating, outdoor seating & standard seating. Service & staffs were good. Restroom was fairly modernized & clean. Restaurant is also modernized & well-lit. Utensils were clean. We ordered the Trio taco varieties 🌮 (crispy shrimp 🍤, fish, & chicken), all 3 were amazing flavors, but our favorite was the Crispy Shrimp amongst the 3. We also got the 16 Spice Chicken Fajita & our daughters loved it! The chips & guacamole 🥑 were refreshing! We love trying out different Mexican restaurant’s in-house spicy sauces. This one had one of the better ones we’ve tried. Lots of different ingredients and spices in it, complements well with our tacos! We’ll be back to try out other things on their menu. 🥰👍😋

Amazing Mexican spot here in Wilmington and honestly my new favorite. The staff are so friendly and the restaurant itself is so clean. The portions are moderately big so you do get the most for what you pay. We had Laura P. as our server and she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Gave us some good suggestions to try out on the menu. The food itself was delicious and tasted so fresh. A must try is the Mex street corn if you’re here. Will definitely be back soon!

I’ve been here a few times, and every visit has been a great experience. The restaurant has a bright, vibrant, and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. Kara recommended one of their new drinks on the menu, and it did not disappoint. She presented it beautifully, and it tasted just as amazing as it looked.

Quite a nice Mexican restaurant. The food was well prepared and presented, flavors spot on, and the menu selection broad enough to appeal to any taste. Our server for a party of 11 was attentive and efficient and never missed a beat. Meals arrived quickly. Overall quite a nice experience and a place we are certain to revisit.

Love this place! Fabulous selection of margaritas & the food! The guacamole is top notch. Service was on point. The chicken and cheese stuffed jalapeños and the street corn are a must order. Everything was fresh and bursting with flavor.

Awesome bar atmosphere, great service, with a great selection of tequila. Great happy hour choices and the entrees are always excellent. Chicken fajitas are a must, good portion of chicken and fresh tortillas. We tried the papa locas app it was pretty good. Chips & salsa is always fresh and endless. The desserts can be a little pricey, but the chocolate tres leches is worth it.

Beautiful ambiance. The food was amazing. Displayed well. I loved the birria. The street corn was the best I ever had. The guacamole, queso, and salsa were delicious. Very flavorful. Our waiter, Bella, was very nice, attentive, and informative. Loved everything about the place.

Delicious food served in a sophisticated atmosphere with attentive service. The margarita was amazing, and every dish we tried was full of flavor.

Good restaurant with great drinks. Food wasn't what I'd expected from other people recommendations. Jalapeño corn bread was soggy. It's not an authentic Mexican taste but still good food. The wait staff was exceptional, especially with a small child.

Just the perfect place for an afterwork impromptu hang out. The food is amazing, flavors really make you feel like you are at a sidewalk cafe in Mexico. So many great options to choose from. There is not a wrong choice on the menu. The staff is great, and really makes you feel welcome. Will definitely come back with friends to try a few more items on the menu. Stop in and enjoy some great food with your friends, family, or your coworkers.

Came here after a movie date with my boyfriend. Awesome first impression as you pull up to the place, nice contemporary look, then you walk inside and the atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking! What a beautiful place, so fun and textured. Was greeted with a smile from the host and quickly seated. Didn’t take long for our server to grab us drink, and complimentary chips and salsa! That is always a plus! We ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeño's, they were absolutely delicious even the creama was awesome. Definitely wouldn’t recommend if you are sensitive to spicy foods because, damn my tongue was on fire lol but i love the heat. For entrees we both went with tacos i got the al pastor tacos (meat was so tender and flavorful) and my man got the crispy shrimp tacos, both were very tasty i mean this place is great for flavor everything takes you on a flavor roller coasters! Rice and beans we’re our sides and they were great as well i seriously don’t have anything bad to say about this place, nothing! Anther plus is management seems to be very great and attentive in this place, seemed to be at least two managers on the shift that we attended. Always a good sign when you can tell a place is well managed. Overall amazing place well deserving on 5 starts. Clean, stylish and delicious! Would recommend stopping by if your near the joint! Shout out to our server Hannah thank you for such a pleasant experience!

We had a fantastic lunch at El Camino! We started off with an order of their fresh and chunky guacamole, along with the vibrant salsa and enjoyed both. Each of us ordered something different, they made it easy to accommodate special requests and we all really found them flavorful and delicious. I picked the short rib enchiladas, which were fantastic with tender beef, featuring a nicely spiced and zippy sauce. Generous portions, with a creative menu with a nice variety of choices. The service was attentive and friendly, with a relaxed yet cheerful atmosphere. The decor is elegant, yet playful. I'd definitely recommend coming here, all in all a very pleasant and tasty experience.

Great chips and salsa and el pastor tacos. I also had the fajitas which were good - but the add-ons like cheese and salsa for them were pretty small. Would recommend coming here for.tacos and chips & salsa 100%.

Visited this place this past weekend for the first time. I had lunch and a couple cocktails. I highly recommend their pineapple mojito. It’s absolutely amazing. The guacamole is one of the best I’ve ever had, by far! The chimichanga was ok. The queso on top is really good, perfect touch to compliment it. And don’t leave without trying their fries!! Ah-mazing. Our waiter was extremely nice and personable. I’ll recommend this place over and over. Fun atmosphere and amazing staff and food!

Really enjoyed this place after trying a few restaurants that were not up to par. We found this food to have fresh, authentic ingredients. Both times we have got the short rib burrito and asked for the French fries inside the burrito. It’s awesome! We can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I came here last night and had an exceptional experience. The service was great and the food reminded us I really knew Jose Garces restaurant DiStrito in Philly. This is our new go to Mexican place in this area.

This was my first time there and everything was a 10.The aesthetic of the place made me smile as soon as I walked in. The food was amazing. Had the barrio, street corn, queso dip, and churros. Our server was on point with everything that we needed. There's free onsite parking if anyone has parking concerns.

First time there and really impressed. Love the vibe ..... pretty big bar area and outdoor dining. Very open and spacious and bright! Food was very good....loved the black bean empanadas, Camino cornbread is 💯, chicken tacos were delicious, they offer a kids menu, and an additional extensive drink menu and daily specials!! Highly recommend, I was just passing through from New York and was happy I found this place!!!

From the minute we walked into the restaurant until we left, we were greeted and treated handsomely. Our server, Colin, was engaging and attentive. Great personality! Our party of 4 all enjoyed our meals. Colin recommended the chef's special which was an interesting twist on chicken parmesan with a Tex-Mex twist. Absolutely delicious! Two different managers stopped by our booth to see how we were doing. Simply the epitome of good customer service! Would highly recommend this place!

My wife and I stopped in here last week for an early dinner and from the moment we walked in, we felt nothing but welcome. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was hot and and came out timely. The bartender knocked the drinks out of the park. Best margarita I've had in quite some time. All around a great experience from start to finish. We can't wait to come back again. Until next time!

Kara at the bar during happy hour was amazing. Made exquisite drinks, very knowledgeable about the menu. Offered great recommendations & the food was superb. This was my 3/4th time here but my 1st time at the bar for happy hour. Highly recommend. Ask for Kara! Thanks Kara 😊

Great Cinco de Mayo vibe! No tables were available and you couldn’t be added to any waitlist. I guess there were no time limits and people were just squatting all day. We were lucky enough to snag something at the bar where we immediately got their tasty 52oz Titan Margarita, yummy churros and the most flavorless Mushroom Tacos I’ve ever hand. Bartenders were great! Food was…

Parking was easy, plenty of parking in front of the building. This is a large restaurant in the front of what looks like a fairly new apt/condo community. This is part of the Platinum Dining Group, and they have a Taverna location right beside them. Pretty smooth move right there if you ask me. The restaurant is beautiful inside. Both Alex and I were pretty blown away by how aesthetically pleasing this place truly is. They have a small patio outside for dining as well. The service in here is top notch. We sat at the bar, and our bartender took good care of us throughout our stay. Let's get this going! I ordered a Tradicional Marg. It was good, a little on the tart side, but tolerable. I fixed it by dropping the coffee straws, and sipping from the glass using the salt to balance the tart. This got me where I was going. I also ordered a Modelo draft which was cold and refreshing. They have an excellent tequila selection with decent price points. After lunch we did shots of Julio 1942 at $18 a piece. Not great, not terrible. Chips & Salsa!!!!!!! Chips...house made, warm, little touch of oil on some, solid chip. Salsa...OMG! This is what I'm talking about right here. It was fantastic! Pureed hard with a perfect blend of fresh ingredients. It had a strong cilantro presence that I always love. I could drink this stuff. The only complaint is that the ratio wasn't good to the chips. We had alot of left over chips. I ordered ELC Street Corn: chipotle mayo, cotija cheese, cilantro. $10. This comes out in 4 small grilled ears. This street corn mix is out of control delicious. Alex doesn't even like corn and this changed his life forever. There is a reason that it's the current cover photo right now. Even the corn that was blackened was fabulous. I ate one the next day without heating it and it was still amazing. Do yourself a favor, and stab one of the ends with a fork. Tips and tricks folks! I ordered Fish Tacos: crispy sea bass, cabbage slaw, chipotle mayo, pickled chilis. $12 for 2 or $17 for 3. This is just delicious with the flavors going on here. The fish was cooked perfect, crispy, and the batter was on point. The slaw, mayo, and chilis took it to the next level. My only gripe is the fish could have a better ratio to the tortilla. My end bites were tortilla and slaw. Tortillas are fresh and taste good. Black beans and rice were uninspired and boring. Nothing about them stood out to make them more than just basic. I ordered Pastor Tacos: slow roasted pork, grilled pineapple, avocado crema, radish. $11 for 2 or $16 for 3. Meat was marinaded/seasoned to perfection. I had a hard time putting these down. Some of the best pastor tacos I've had out here in the 302. The tacos here are pricey, but I'd still get them again. Quality chef work going on over here at the ELC. Alex ordered the carnitas enchiladas and will explain how they were below in the comments. I tried a bite and thought they had some excellent flavors mixing in there.

Really nice place. I had the vegan fajitas and they were pretty good, although covered in oil and not very flavorful. Service was great. But I wish I knew my request to swap sour cream and cheese for guacamole would incur a $5 upcharge.

H
Heather Pierson

It was a bit expensive and we had to wait a while which is unusual I hear. The water tasted like straight tap water unfiltered and like chlorine. Ick. Food was on point though. We got their chicken spice and it's not spicy but it is tasty! Beer was cold and smooth. Staff was tentative and kind.

I love the atmosphere of this place, great tequila menu and my margarita was quite good. The food was your average chain type Mexican food. I expected a little more wow in the food based on the vibe and atmosphere.

Cheesesteak Tacos. When at El Camino do what El Camino do......very tasty. My cousin thinks it is short rib and not steak. Either way they were tasty and it was happy hour prices!!

During Covid - food was all good but not as flavorful as earlier experience. Mexican Meatball appetizer was not much different than a Crock pot Meatball at a party. Interesting but just once. Al pastor tacos needed some sauce but the meat had good barbecue flavor and the pineapple was nice. I'd like to see thicker shells or an option for two as they easily broke and leaked contents. The Sea bass was pretty good. Tres Leche cake tasted like it had just been thawed. Sweet but not memorable. Coffee was very good. Service was slower than normal but not horribly so.

We loved the modern Mexican vibe and extremely friendly service, but the food didn’t live up to our expectations. We ordered Nachos as an appetizer (the regular size was more than enough for 4 of us) which were the highlight of the meal—a must eat. They had the perfect ratio of toppings to chips, so highly recommend. For the main course, we ordered the chicken fajita, chicken enchilada, taco salad (which they graciously still gave us even though it was on the lunch menu) and the chicken tacos. While the food was all good, nothing was spectacular. It’s a cute place to come to with friends, but I won’t be remembering anything in particular!

This is based on the experience. Location and decor 3 star. Food taste 2 stars. 5 stars for the cornbread. 5 star for the nice genuine service. The ambient is a bit dull. A bit more of Mexican Flare. The outside patio outstanding set up. The jalapeño did a number on me. The enchilada short ribs all I tasted was the sauce. The corn bread. Excellent!!!!

I will give 5 stars for ambiance, friendly staffs and managers. The tacos: 1. Fish tacos tasted great and it was not dry. I found 5 fish bones. It was a good thing in a way cause you know it was sliced in the kitchen a little problem, people who are very sensitive and melodramatic can use this against El caminos. We support local restaurant. 2. Cheesesteak tacos is good 3. Carnitas meat is dry. In addition, tuna ceviche’s is alright. I had better tuna ceviche. Ribs were moist and fantastic. Lastly, their complimentary tortilla chips and salsa were fresh.

Love the atmosphere and the margaritas are SO good. Our family of four (two adults and two small children) ate lunch here for $100. I literally got an app and margarita, my husband had tacos and my kids had tacos & chicken tenders. The kids drinks were $8 a piece and I just don’t think that our meal should have been this expensive. We left feeling like we overpaid for lunch.

This was our first time. The wings had NO favor. They were just hot. My strawberry mojito was just okay.

Keep your expectations low when you visit this restaurant. Atmosphere is decent and clean but the food and service leave much to be desired. You are better off going ANYWHERE else for Mexican food.

K

I always came here for the fish tacos, but I’m very disappointed with how much the quality has gone down. They used to serve a nice-sized piece of fish on each taco, but now the portions are extremely small. I ordered two takeout orders of fish tacos, and each taco only had a couple of tiny, tough, shriveled-up pieces of fish — barely enough to equal one small fillet total. The fish was thin, overcooked, and not worth the price. Really disappointing, especially from a place that used to be one of my favorites.
