Chevys Fresh Mex - Arlington

We went there for happy hour. Drink prices were good. We had the queao and been dip. They were both good. Service was okay. I would recommend this place. UPDATE: We went back for happy hour again. Service was great. Street tacos and salsa were really good. Tableside guacamole was okay. I probably would not order again for $12. Dessert was delicious.

Second time here, second time great meal and great experience which was why I decided to write a review. First time was a date with my wife and we had a wonderful time just the two of us sharing the fajitas. From what I can remember the food was awesome and we liked the atmosphere so when we were back in the area my wife and I brought my mother in law back because she was looking for some good fajitas and that was what we had last time we were there. The pics were from our most recent visit and the restaurant is empty I know but it was around lunch time and with the still continuing COVID restrictions I think those may be some of the reasons because the last time we were here it was really busy. I don't want anyone to think its not a good place due to that because it couldn't be further from the truth. Our server Jose was very attentive, polite and got our orders correct without even writing them down, impressive. Once again this whole experience was appreciated because my mother in law has been having a hard time with her health lately and it was great to get her out to a nice lunch to take her mind off things a little. Thanks Chevys we will be back in the future.

Stopped by here after walking around the mall, expecting this to me another rip off. I was shocked by how affordable the prices are and how great the service is. Plus their happy hour deals are too good to pass up.

I had the taste for a salad. I ordered a Cobb Salad to go from Chevys Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia location. I chose the apple-vinaigrette dressing, which paired perfectly with my salad. It was sweet and tangy. Heck it was all around the delicious. My salad consisted of chicken, avocado, roasted corn, roasted red peppers, bacon,blue cheese, and iceberg lettuce. It was a nice size portion. My order also came with complimentary chips, salsa and utensils. I love the flavor combinations and will definitely go back.

Service was great and our server Cassandra was excellent. It was super busy because of Mother’s Day but she made sure to check on us frequently. Cassandra, thank you for your awesome service and kindness. Food was also very good and great quality.

My favorite chill, eat out spot!🥰🤗…simply because my Husband and I went to the Chevy’s in Brandywine (before it was closed 😔) for our first date and after he proposed a couple months later, we decided to have a pre-wedding dinner there because it was so special to us, being the spot where our love was kindled. We’d go there all the time before it was closed down. So, biases and all, Chevy’s gets a straight 5!❤️💪🏾 but let me tell you why they actually deserve it though😂😉…#1: consistency, they won’t let you down. You’ll receive consistently good food with flavor, tipsy drinks, service and atmosphere…it’s always great here. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of the food at any location and/or the servers. Crispy cantina style chips and herb popping salsa! (I love when I can easily taste the fresh cilantro in my salsa)…they’re the only place where I can get a half-half margarita made the way I like it…that’s half frozen/half on the rocks…so good! Gives me a nice buzz off of one, if I’m feeling a lil plucky I’ll go back a lil more maybe for two, lol! This time we were helped by Delia and she was awesome! But like I said, good service every time. You never wait long and it’s never brought out wrong! (I already coined that phrase so no stealing, 🤦🏾‍♀️😂) I tried the crab and shrimp enchiladas and it was delish. (Had an entire meal left over too😏)…I love when I actually muster up the strength to try a different dish at my favorite restaurant and actually like it…and not be mad that I didn’t get my regular! 😂🤣😂 Also, they DID NOT raise prices to a point where it’s gouging consumers like other businesses did after Covid…very reasonably priced menu and actually, it’s almost the same as before the pandemic hit. I really appreciate that and have to give a shout out to all the business who aren’t taking advantage of American consumers right now. Definitely go to Chevy’s! I hope you have a wonderful time. We still have the sombreros from our Pre-Wedding Dinner and make sure to stop in once every few months simply because!😍🙏🏾

We ordered the Flamed Mix Grill and another combo of chicken, beef and shrimp bbq with refried beans, and a portion of rice annd sweet corn tomalito. I’d just have liked more hot pepper with the meat. Otherwise it was excellent!

I always try new restaurants, but keep coming back to Chevy's for my favorite Mexican food. The meal starts with hot, freshly made chips served with a thick salsa. I get the Three Item Combo ($18.50) with Chicken Flautas and two Enchiladas. The portions are generous and everything is made from scratch. Great food and service at reasonable prices.

The food was amazing and the portions was great. Loved their margaritas. I tried the single combo and it was goood. I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was also good and the vibe was nice.

The drinks were delicious! Never tried Cointreau noir shot before!! Definitely very happy for trying and thankfully for the place to “show” me haha! we were 10/10 served, costumer service impeccable!!! overall really happy for the experience even tho the tamale wasn’t what I was expecting (the ones I tried in Guadalajara were different… could be because regional different way to make it). It was super cool to have courtesy nacho chips and tomato dip! The taco, chicken flautes and sweetcorn tamalilo was fenomenal! Definitely would come back another time!!!

Have been here twice for lunch with friends. Staff service was great, extremely friendly and most importantly food was delicious and abundant. It's an obligatory pit-stop if you go to Pentagon City shopping center. We loved this place!

I live nearby and finally visited this place for my birthday. I ordered their mixed fajitas and it was good. Worth the money!! Since I try to avoid eat rice they’re kind enough to replace mine with fries. Also ordered mango margaritas and it was perfect. The server is so kind and can’t wait to come back again!

Excellent service, aromatic and flavourful Tex-Mex. I heard the table beside me come in and state that Chevy’s margaritas were the best! Great tasting!

My favorite hang out spot!! Always a great experience, especially when Delia and Donis are bartending, they are always so attentive and accommodating and never cease to go the extra mile for great customer service! Will definitely continue to be my favorite HH go to!

I’ve been coming here for almost 25 years and have never had a single complaint! The food is always super fresh and consistent, the staff over the years has been very friendly, and the current manager especially is on top of everything. Chevy’s has become a Pentagon City staple for my family!

We were visiting from out of town…grabbed a bite to eat…amazing service! We left a bag of souvenirs and the amazing server tracked us down into the Metro station to make sure we didn’t lose our souvenirs!!! Above and beyond in taking care of us!

lena is absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. Her attention to detail was incredible — she remembered everyone’s order perfectly, kept our drinks full without us even asking, and checked in just the right amount of times. Selena has that rare combination of professionalism and personality that makes dining out a true pleasure. She clearly loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction. If every restaurant had a Selena, eating out would always be a five-star experience!

We recently moved to the neighborhood and absolutely love this Chevys location. The food has been consistently top notch, the drinks excellent, and the happy hour brings it all together for a perfect date night. One thing that really stands out at a time where customer service is so.etimes lacking, is the incredible team working hard to make your visit special and impressive. One employee that really stands out is the bartender, Selene. She is a real treasure and makes customers feel welcome and cared for. My husband and I both commented on each of our visits about how her drinks are delicious, her service polite, energetic, and professional. Chevys will now be on our regular rotation.

We were here for a school field trip and cannot say enough what an easy and fun experience it was! The manager, Kris, was so efficient and helpful with the kids and the staff was friendly and helpful as well. Great experience!

Best meal on our trip to Washington DC. The Tostado Salad was delicious and fresh - a wonderful break from the fast food options we had been consuming most of this trip. The service was delightful. The location is very close to the Pentagon City Metro stop, so convenient that we didn’t even need to cross the road. Don’t miss this affordable family-friendly restaurant that easily accommodate large or small groups.

I had a wonderful experience at Chevys Fresh Mex! From the start, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh ingredients, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The Root beer ribs was my favorite, but honestly, everything we tried was excellent. What really stood out, though, was the service. Not only was our server attentive and kind, but the manager Marvin also came by our table to check in. That small gesture made the experience feel personal and showed how much they truly care about their guests. The manager was professional, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect, which speaks volumes about the way this place is run. It’s rare to find a restaurant where both the food and hospitality shine equally, but [Restaurant Name] delivers on both fronts. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.

Service is wonderful. Food is great. I would definitely visit again. The chips and salsa were so good we had 2 servings before entrees arrived.

Stopped by here for Sunday brunch. Food was good. Tomas, our waiter, was very attentive and provided excellent service! It was nice to watch staff make churro Pancakes and tortillas fresh on the grill. The place was a bit empty for midday though. Gotta remember to stop by here for happy hours - their menu offering looks really good.

Excellent happy hour food and drinks in the bar area. It's the best bang for the buck I have found in the DC area, and a few steps from the Pentagon City metro stop. This is now my go to at least a few times a month!

First visit with a large group We were served a taco buffet for about 60 people. The food was ok. Choice of protein,beans and rice. I think the majority enjoyed their meal. If we needed anything it was hard to find someone to help after being served.

Went for Taco Tuesday, great deal for street tacos. Disappointed that I could not get the Maragita special as well because I was seated in the dining area instead of cantina. Other than that food was good and service was great. Update everyday Happy Hour was good too!

Some of the best home made salsa out there. The food was good. However, the service was very good. Try the raspberry tea. It too was delicious. This is our 2nd time here due to the convenience, location, service and the food.

Big space, bright interior, a bit loud. Not sure if a romantic date would be good here. But overall it’s lively there, the staff is very attentive. My salad was SUPER big and very delicious.

Pretty Good Food and Service. Solid 4 for me, only things that would have made it better if my Flamed Grill Mix was actually set on fire like the picture and service was a bit more attentive at the end.

Immaculate service Stopped by this location for happy hour. Our server Mr D was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave his honest opinion on certain menu options. I ordered a salad that’s was phenomenal. Street parking is limited. The service was excellent, establishment was clean. I will be back soon.

The food was good the service was subpar. The wait time to get the food took a long time. While waiting for the food we asked for refills. The server said ok. But never came back. Another server eventually came over to the table and asked if we need anything. We asked for refills. Thay server went to get our server. Who we had to ask for refills again. This time the drinks were brought to us.

The food was a bit underwhelming. I ordered the sampler plate, and while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t stand out either. For a restaurant that identifies as Mexican, I was a little disappointed to see no traditional aguas frescas—no horchata, tamarindo, or Jamaica, just soda and alcoholic drinks. It would’ve been a nice cultural touch to include those, though I understand they may be tailoring the menu to their primary customer base. That said, the chips and guacamole were excellent—I really enjoyed them! Service was definitely a highlight. Our waiters were attentive and kind, and I appreciated how well we were taken care of. The atmosphere was decent. I personally expected a bit more of a traditional vibe, maybe some Spanish music or culturally distinct decor, but that might just be my own preference. All in all, it was an okay visit. I might come back, but next time I’ll probably ask the staff for recommendations—I think I just picked the wrong dish this time.

Our server Jamil provided great service. However, the food was just ok. The chips & taco shell were cold. Overall, the food lacked flavor and had a soap like aftertaste.

Had an awful experience, trying to enjoy the advertised all day happy hour deals at Chevy’s on Cinco de Mayo. Their email indicated you could come in and they had all day happy hour specials as well as two dollar street tacos, but they never once indicated it was in the bar or outdoors only. So we were stuck having to purchase some items at our table. But then after 45 minutes, we were told the manager has changed the policy and they were going to have to close our check and we could open a new check to take advantage of the deals. They should have retroactively applied the deals to the things we ordered, but that’s not what they offered. Additionally, you will see pictured here what it shows in their menu for a flight of margaritas to try and then how they actually came out to the table. It was very embarrassing to say the least. Also, there was a miscommunication by our server about the street tacos and that when we made our order, he came by and put a receipt of some kind on the table but said nothing. 20 minutes went by and I tried to flag our server down to find out when the tacos would be showing up and he indicated that I needed to take it to go get them elsewhere… Luckily, he threw in a free taco for the wait, but the lack of communication and chaos was just unfortunate overall. The tacos tasted OK not great, and with the amount of competition in the area this will never be another option again.

This is the most disgusting taco I have ever eaten in my life. The steak tastes as if it were rotten. I am not exaggerating when I say that I left my meal mostly untouched. Furthermore, this is not a Mexican restaurant; the dishes do not even come close to having authentic Mexican flavors or ingredients.

House margaritas tasted like pure sugar and couldn't get decent chips for salsa. Had to ask for chips when ordering guacamole in hopes for whole pieces. It looked like someone sat on them. Slow service and very disinterested in actually providing quality service. Left without furthering our order.
