Jaleo Crystal City

Everything that we had there was delicious! Very tasty spicy shrimp, very tender duck breast, the sausage with white beans was similarly flavorful and delicious! Definitely a place to come back to!

Great experience, great staff and clearly great food. As a family who are fans of Jose Andre and his many restaurants we came in w other of his locations under our culinary belt. We thoroughly enjoy the plates (we did find one or two we didn't care for as well!). Overall it was a giod experience. We did have a moment for pause that the staff should consider aboiding ...when a manager(?)or server almost pushed us to order the specials as the kitchen wanted him to push it. It made us feel like they just wanted to push leftovers on us,but luckily i know how to order for myself...otherwise a great time !

Their $35 restaurant week menu was so delicious! The bacon dates and rice pudding were my 2 favorites. Definitely will be back to try more of their menu.

My wife celebrated her promotion at Jaleo and I was so happy she chose it!! The food was brilliant!! Flavor upon flavor, creativity, and fantastic service. Jose Andres is just amazing. This place is well worth the trip and the calories.

Tapas Central, yes all the wonderful selections and delicious delights you could desire in small plates. In my surprise there is a $20 dollar pre-fixe menu, for lunch. Yes $20 for a 4 + course menu, with a nice selection. Unfortunately I ordered my old favorites before I had the opportunity to see the new specials.

I have been going to Jaleo for many years. It's been a favorite of mine for the good service and great food and drinks. It's a great place to go for groups, couples, or by yourself. They have an extensive Spanish wine selection and amazing sangria.

Love the lamb paella. The other dishes were just as good. Our server was excellent. Will miss this location.

Really dug it. I think they would benefit from radically altering the menu to embrace the tebel cook lifestyle they began 20+ years ago...as the food is great, but not really inspired anymore. I give it 5 stars as IF you've never been, then you will truly enjoy the food and drinks..but for me, I'd love to suprsied again and see a resurgence of the pioneering spirit they once had.

I went there for restaurant week and there were 5 courses. I sat at the bar and the staff was nice but not overbearing, offered help if I had questions, etc. As I hadn't been there before, I needed help choosing dishes, and the bartender/waiter was more than helpful and patient. The decor and ambiance was lively and fun. Great experience, fun and flavorful dishes. I got the mushroom soup, chicken croquettes, garlic shrimp, salmon with stewed veggies, and pan with chocolate (photo included). All were good, and the chicken croquettes made me realize I've been missing out on this amazing dish for my entire life! Garlic shrimp is apparently their most popular dish, and it was fun and served nicely. The pan (bread) with chocolate was an interesting dish with fun combinations. The bread was toasted and slightly caramelized and sweet, the chocolate ice cream was coated in cocoa so slightly bitter, and the other ice cream balanced it with sweetness. Would definitely go again! Thanks.

Great atmosphere! And pretty setting. The staff is very attentive. And constantly checks up. I didn’t personally like what I ordered. But over all I would recommend going. The open bar is the best.

First time, but not the last. Everything was delicious and well presented. Price was also reasonable. There's a parking garage down the street that was free on this Saturday afternoon!

Divine Knowledgeable wait staff made great recommendations for the five of us. A pre-fix lunch menue provided four delicious small plates for $22 and included the best Flan. The Gazpacho was the te best I've ever tasted. Gluten free options. No problem getting separate checks. Loved the colorful decor, too.

Grab yourself an outdoor seat and enjoy the sounds of Crystal City as you eat some of the finest tapas in the US. The only thing they do that I'm torn about is they require proof of COVID vaccination to sit inside...if you don't have proof, or don't want to share that personal medical information, you can sit outside.

Yum! This place made me miss Spain. With two people we did 6 different plates, plus dessert. Our favorites: The Croquetas, Patatas bravas, Carne Asada and we were pleasantly surprised with how much we loved the Crispy Japanese Egg Plant! The flan was delicious. We still talk about it. Next time, we are going for the paella!

Exceptional service, delicious food, large outdoor dining area. I recommend the Flauta de jamón ibérico de bellota!

Spanish tapas at its best. Between Jamon Iberico and Iberico skirt steak, I've gone all the way to Spain and back again. Menu changes often, and they don't always offer paella depending on other specials. They also don't hand carve the Jamon Iberico at the table like they do at Disney Springs.

Had a lovely four course lunch with a lovely leak soup, saute spinich with pine nuts and raisins as a salad, a main course of sausage and white bean, and an extremely light flan for dessert. That with a cava sangria for $26 seems quite reasonable. I will head back!

Very tasty food. Patatas bravas was particularly good. Cordoned off area on sidewalk for outdoor seating.

Delicious meal. I had the Ensalada de remolacha con citricos (beet and.citrua salad) and the Butifarra casera con mongetes (pork.sausage and white beans with garlic butter!) which was such a simple and yet wonderfully delightful plate. Wrapped it up with a cheese flight and a solid cup-o-joe. And that bartender was pretty awesome too. I'd recommend it to my friends.

Celebrated my birthday here and it was an amazing experience and delicious food! The eggplant was surprisingly my favorite! The sangria is delicious as well.

we stopped in Arlington just to have Date night at Jaleo. we knew it was going to be good but never expected it to be off the charts amazing. we had the tasting experience meal. source after course it just got more amazing. The liquidfied olives were one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten. after the food the service was impeccable... our server was super friendly, knew every ingredient in every dish. tables bussed whenever there was an empty dish. drinks always full. no one was ever intrusive on our meal. the restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere. 5 stars! I can't wait to go back again...

Big restaurant, convenient location. You can tell that they use large amount of olive oil on pretty much every dish. I like the decor. Most of staffs are friendly. Few of them has no facial expression. The presentation of the soup was very pretty. However it was refrigerated cold soup. I didn’t like it at all. Sautéed button mushrooms were without sautéed flavor.

Our server, Mark, was informative and friendly. The food runners were also rather informative. We chose the Classic Experience from their tasting menu options: gazpacho, Gambas al ajillo, sautéed mushrooms, Catalan spinach (with pine nuts, fresh apples and very large raisins), chicken croquettes, grilled chicken thighs, chorizo with mashed potatoes, patatas bravado, endive (with oranges, goat cheese and sliced almonds). (Pretty sure I missed something… There was so much food!) My personal favorites: the endives, spinach, chorizo and dessert! Dessert was a fantastic flan and a rum-soaked 1/4 of fresh pineapple. I knocked off 1 star for their shortfalls: a weak pitcher of the sangria rosada and the reach of the food runners. The manager was very responsive about that feedback. (I really would give them 4.5 stars if I could.) I also took advantage of the option to pre-load our tab. For $250 they gave a $50 bonus which was a nice surprise for our group of 4. We left Jaleo Crystal City full and happy.

The food was phenomenal! Must try! I am giving a four star as the menu mentioned lunch in an hour and it took more than an hour to serve all the selections.

Good place for a nice dinner out. We had the restaurant week menu, which was 35 dollars for 5 courses. The servers were very nice and attentive. Cocktails were nice, but not too special. Wasn't a fan of the chicken croquettes (pictured), but the grilled oranges with goat cheese were interesting. We also had pork loin, mushrooms, and some other dishes... flan, chocolate cake,... Overall, food was good.

Had a fabulous dinner. I would not recommend visiting this place without trying the jamon iberico. The flavor is memorable, and I would only place it second on my pork list behind Benton’s smoked bacon. I marked down a star because while delicious, I have got similar experience for a little less$$$

The food here is good. The servers are really nice but seem overwhelmed. The highlight of my meal was the asparagus. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned delicious. I also ordered the mussels which came with a delicious Sherry tasting. Very nicely paired. I also highly recommend the red sangria. Very nicely flavored, not too sweet and perfectly boozed. Get a carafe though because it's so good you'll want more than one glass.

Didn’t tell me that the bread had egg in it and so got only half the aubergine dish sans bread which was awful by itself The endive tapas and pork chorizo tapas is magical Pricy but v gourmet

Wonderful for happy hour. Fabulous deals on snacks and drinks! The bar staff is wonderful and very attentive.

Delicious food and drinks! However, the amount of food you get for the price is ridiculous. I love tapas and small dishes, but you'll have to spend a lot of money here to be full. Highly recommend though.

Some very interesting combinations and excellent presentation. Priced at between $15-20 a plate this can get quite expensive quickly so be careful. Very limited wine list but a few gems can be found. Service is attentive and the place has some bright interesting decor. Sadly the obligatory TV screen sits over the bar blaring sports or such. So not a romantic date night place. Outdoor seating is fun in summer and not a busy road so good for chatting. Worth a visit.

Depends on why you're here. If you're take on Tapas is something like "hang out, have a few beers, and an occasional munchy", then hey, this is the place for you. There is an excellent wine/beer list, the cocktails aren't bad (not great, but not bad either), and as long as you play safe on the tapas, you're pretty much guaranteed to have a fun time - the place is large, airy, there is an outdoors, and, well, nobody rushes you. The downside - the tapas can add up very *very* quickly. Pay attention to the prices - and ignore anything that is over $15. If you don't, you'll rapidly nuke your wallet! So yeah, go, chill, go easy on the tapas, and have a good time...

With such high hopes due to all these 5 star reviews... I was very underwhelmed with the food flavor. They went the cheap route on most dishes that we recieved. Using chicken thigh when breast tenderloins should have been used. Flank steak when a more fine cut should be used. The squid was extremely bland, the list goes on. With so many amazing restaurants all around I would not put this on the list of must-go.
