Small, yet cozy and delish! This is a one of a kind coffee places you will ever enjoy a macademia decaf latte with almond milk with a waffle. The waffles are certainly the best. At the time of visiting, they were out of fruit but I requested to just get a plain waffle and to just make it look cute. Which they did and I was thrilled. Just look at it for yourself, a waffle with peanut butter, Nutella and ice cream! Oh plus the macaroons and some chicken Alfredo pasta which you will not want to stop indulging yourself in. You must check this place out! Let's not forget the warm customer service and the cleanliness this place holds. Everything about Cafe Maji is amazing, I will be back to try the waffle tiramisu!

I was recommended this spot by a local. Truly THE BEST SPOT for your coffee run. Stop going to those overrated big company coffee places. Really! I loved their passion fruit lemonade and lavender latte, and oddly enough their quesadillas were delicious. Will definitely stop by next time I'm in Cali.

It's very spacious and great for studying. They had the wifi on the back of the receipt. The lavender lemonade was too sweet, but they were nice and gave me and my friends free cream puffs while we worked and studied

Go to spot for studying, relaxing, and get togethers. Owner makes the cutest atmosphere. Been here since pre COVID.

Red bean green tea shake was a bomb 👍🏻 Oreo latte was not so sweet in a positive way. I could still taste latte. Bulgogi quesadillas were full of mozarella cheese and good amount of beef. Yummy.

I love this place. I love the atmosphere, the music and the food. The price is a bit more in the expensive side but well worth it. I got the angry bear which is a wagyu burger that was spicy, meaty and delicious. Their sweet potato fries are sweet and crisp. My husband order shrimp pasta which was absolutely delicious. Very creamy. Shrimp was great. The presentation is also Instagram worthy.

The owner is extremely generous and kind! I used to work here almost daily when I started my startup alone in 2021 and 2022. Today I came back and he recognized me immediately. If you need a place to do work, there are plenty of plugs, quiet space, good drinks and food. Highly recommend this place.

I found this place fairly recently. I take my electric scooter about 30-40mins to get here. It's a lovely environment to sit down & study. Students are much of the clientele. The menu is quite large, so it might seem a little overwhelming at first. However, I've liked all the drinks I've tried so far, & the food has been delicious. The owner(?) is also incredibly friendly & polite. Quick to serve & tend to customers. I love the fried chicken dumplings, they're hard to resist every time I go. The interior is very homey; you won't find the usual chic or modern furnishings common in many cafes. However, the furnishings serve their purpose, & the calm, pleasant energy + music more than make up for it. The small figures & artworks on display are also cute. Overall, I've been very happy with my experiences at the cafe so far.

This is one of the best optimized cafe's for working/studying. Plenty of seating, calm music, large, wide selection of drinks and some food offerings. I wasn't sure looking at the photos, but in person the cafe has a nice charm despite its utilitarian layout. There was one guy behind the counter serving everyone which I guess could get hectic, but it wasn't a problem when I was here. Even if it had been, I'm so thankful a place like this exists that I wouldn't mind. Finally, the coconut latte w/o coffee was good.

The atmosphere was nice and relaxing! Service was great quick, and the coffee and food were delicious! We tried the rose and the Irish cream latte and for food, we tried the chicken pesto with fries on the side. It's a nice spot for people who would like to study, draw, read, write, or even just chat.

Great atmosphere, very clean cafe with calm background music played. We ordered a cold and hot mocha latte, and both were delicious. The art on the hot latte was also super cute, which is a plus. The owner of the store is very kind, and I believe is the definition of great customer service.

Amazing pasta, amazing tteokbokki, and amazing waffles. A million stars to the two running the shop and their generosity. Food was cooked perfectly, waffles were delishious and crispy. I wish I lived in the area so I could come all the time

If there's one word I would describe this place, it's cute. 💕 And in my book, that's a good thing. It's a typical Korean cafe in Cerritos, bordering Artesia and Norwalk. Every platter comes in an amazing presentation (as you've seen in my photos). Ambiance makes you pretty happy too [with chill Kpop music in the background]. If there's a negative thing I can say, there's a bit of a wait for the food to come, but nothing too cray. My Andes shake was bomb and so was the passion fruit lemonade. I've been here a couple times before and I would say this time won't be the last.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, and I really enjoyed my time here. The banana vanilla mocha is super delicious whether hot or iced (I prefer hot) and the food is really good. The owner is super sweet and puts a lot of care into the lattes. I got to practice my Korean with him and he was very nice about it. I really recommend this place :) They like to rotate their menu every now and then to switch up the drinks! I really recommend their lemon cake as well! The tiramisu is good as well, but I would share it with about 3 people as the sweetness can be a little much for one or two people! 정말 감사합니다!

Awesome customer service! I didn’t like my first drink and I asked if they could add more syrup since I couldn’t taste the toffee but they didn’t have anymore so they offered me a different drink instead. The second drink was definitely more flavorful. They bring the drinks and food to your table, which I am not used when it comes to coffee shops so that’s definitely a nice touch. Beware, the bathroom towel dispenser is a little loud. Not sure if that’s fixed or not but it sounded like someone was screaming 🤣. I found it funny personally so that’s doesn’t affect my rating but if you’re sensitive to loud sounds - it might be overwhelming. If I’m not mistaken - the back of the receipt has the wifi info so you don’t need to ask about it. I didn’t test it out though so I could be mistaken.

Was looking for a coffee shop that was opened late and found this place. Was a little skeptical because it was described as a place to go study and well I just wanted coffee and a dessert. I was surprised how comfy this place was. Yes people where there doing "laptop work" but there were also people just having coffee and a bite to eat. I got the tiramisu matcha mocha latte and it was good. My husband got the cookie butter iced latte and he also liked it. I also ordered a slice of red velvet cake and was pleasantly surprised at how big the "slice" was. The man that served us also brought us some complimentary creme puffs and my husband was enamored by them, they didn't stand a chance. The service was phenomenal and the ambiance was great. Can't wait to be back.

A quiet cafe in Cerritos found in the same compound as Bruster's Ice Cream, Cafe Maji offers a serene escape from the bustling city. This Korean-owned cafe boasts a cozy, library-like atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a quiet study spot or a tranquil retreat. The menu features a variety of drinks and snacks, including their delightful macha coffee, refreshing jollypong shake, and savory grilled cheese. The portions are generous, exceeding those found in nearby establishments, without breaking the bank. The friendly staff, particularly the patient counter attendant who helped us navigate their coffee menu, added to the overall positive experience. As an added bonus, we were surprised with a complimentary cream puff, a sweet gesture that further enhanced our visit. Cafe Maji is a highly recommended destination for students looking for a conducive study environment or anyone seeking a peaceful respite from the city's noise.

Honestly one of the best cafes I’ve ever been too. 10/10. As a fellow barista, I have to say that the lattes are so good and the latte art is the cutest! I recommend the hot vanilla lavender white latte. Best customer service I’ve seen in so long. The place is big with alot of seating and it’s an amazing place to study. It gives lofi vibes for sure! I love this place! Not only is everything adorable, but it all actually tastes really good too. The servers are friendly and the baristas are super talented. The menu is pretty large, meaning it's good to go with friends so you can order a lot of items. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but we still got seated right away. Also, the decor inside is super cute. My only complaint is that is so far away. They should open in Koreatown because I'd be there each week!

Protect this place at all costs, will be devastated if it ever shuts down 😩 I ordered the s’mores latte and it was absolutely fantastic. Such a sweet treat. Prices are so good and the area is great for working (there are tables with chargers already plugged in) Huge fan of the latte art as well!

The burger is very juicy and flavorful! I love how the bun is crunchy on the surface and soft and fluffy on the inside. The taro latte is not too sweet and does not have that overly artificial taste like other taro drinks from other places have. The serving is pretty generous and thought the pricing is fair. I was afraid that it might be one of those instagram places that are overpriced and the servings would be small but it turned out better than I expected! The ambiance of the place is peaceful and cute as well!

Drinks are on point. The matcha latte and strawberry drink I got previously were just the right amount of sweet. Great place for studying or chatting with friends - enough room, chairs, wifi, and wall sockets. Pleasant atmosphere but can get busy and crowded. Parking can be annoying but it's worth it. Friendly owner who always remembers you and your orders! :)

Came w my sibling who goes to school nearby and found the atmosphere to be really calming! There's plenty of tables and places to sit and study or just chill w your friends. The tiramasu I got was super delicious and sweet and my strawberry Nutella shake was to die for. The food is so cute and really adorable, I didn't know until I got my drink, but there are cute drawings on the hot drinks. This is such a perfect place for a study date. Great options for drinks and food, all fairly affordable. The man who works here is super sweet and attentive. It has a very cozy atmosphere with cozy music. The bathroom is very clean, which I always appreciate. They also open late, underrated place for sure. :)))))

I go here to study and work often because they are open until 12am. Other cafes usually close too early to actually get much work done. He'll probably yell at you if you seem like you're not going to order anything because the tables are for customers only. It also gets hot in the cafe with low AC. But he's given me free cream puffs multiple times probably for being a regular. The wifi has been stable for me and there are many outlets 감사합니다 for opening late~

A gorgeous location to take a first date or impress a colleague. However, it's a bit overpriced in my eyes. It seems The high price tag is to account for all the cute presentation of the food. The passion fruit tea lemonade was mostly sour with food coloring. The burger patty was a bit too overdone for my taste but the quality of the meat is high. I'll definitely be back to try the coffee/desserts.

The gentleman taking our order was very nice, friendly, and helpful; him alone deserves five stars for service. The waffle was a little bit hard but it's acceptable considering the fact it had 3 scoops of ice cream on top. The quesadilla was a safe predictable bet and it came with sour cream and jalapenos. The drinks were good but very lightly flavored. It was difficult to tell my latte had lavender. The environment itself is so cute it's one of those little coffee shops with cute decorations and mismatching chairs. I love that the walls are white because it gives it a clean feeling. Overall will go back again.

We stumbled upon this place on a completely random need for grub on a long weekend. This is an adorable place, decked up with a zillion baubles, each fitting perfectly into the theme. It's a chic high school party theme executed nicely with a tonne of tiny moving parts. The service is friendly. The edibles look very promising. I can't say since we only got a lavender hot chocolate. I was feeling adventurous, but this adventure didn't pay off. Lavender and hot chocolate simply didn't gel to my taste buds. It tasted like stale flower had plopped into my beverage from a tree overhead, while I was enjoying a lazy afternoon on a park bench! But all glory to the little pillowy vanilla eclair that came complimentary with the coffee. The highly marketed matcha tiramisu, I'd wanna try if I were to go again. The ONLY thief of a star is th misleading dollar signage on yelp. This is most definitely a $$ coffee place. Don't do a double take like we did! We were in no mood to spend since we were just looking for a pick-me-up. So we were turn between spending a bit without being able to enjoy the place.

Met some friends here after work. This place is the cutest thing! I felt like Zooney Dechanel should of been signing in the corner! LOL The staff was super awesome and sweet. We were a big group and they were very accommodating to splitting our tabs. I will definitely come back for more hot chocolates!

I've been to my fair share of Korean cafes in Ktown and this one is pretty similar to the ones there, minus the drive. It's a cute place that is obviously pretty busy during the weekend, so I'd come early if you can. The coffee is good and they give you quite a bit (you are definitely paying a premium for the cuteness of your latte or cappuccino). I haven't tried out the food yet, but don't get too shocked at the prices... They are similar to cafes in Ktown. I saw other people ordering some of the food and they did look quite good. My wife ordered the chocolate mousse cake and she said it was pretty good. Overall, a good place to come and grab some coffee, eat dessert, and get some work done.

Café Maji is like an Internet Café from back in the days. Just nowadays everybody brings their own laptop. You can find many Students here working on assignments or chilling. The café has a big selection of teas and coffees including some organic varieties. I did not try any of the big selection of food varieties as I just came from dinner. Cozy space to work on the laptop with plenty of tables and seating.

My buddy took me to this kind of un-assuming Cafe. From the outside it didn't look like much. As I stepped in the door, the decor and ambiance was reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland-esque. (The new one with Johnny Depp) It's a great spot for an after dinner dessert and coffee. It seems to be a great study joint with plenty of space, tables and chairs. I ordered and hazelnut affogato (iced coffee with ice cream). It was a perfect after dinner dessert drink. It had the richness of ice cream but half the sweetness combined with the taste of coffee. Amazing! My buddy ordered a strawberry nutella waffle topped with whip cream and a side of Bear ensignia'd latte. The waffle was perfect with a slight crispiness on the outside and chewiness on the inside; topped over with fresh strawberries. Exactly how waffles should be. The service here is nothing short of attentive, quick and courteous. I'd recommend this place if you're in the mood just to hang out after dinner or grab a quick bite to eat. There are other savory goodies here to munch on as well. However, the later it is in the evening, the less parking spaces there are. The parking lot is front of the Cafe and spots get taken up quickly!

This place is very nice for late studying since they close later than most coffee shops. The photos need updating because the place did NOT look like the photos whatsoever. You can very much tell students love coming here due to the more quite atmosphere with many outlets, as well as spacious place. To a result, students stay here for many hours. However, I don't intend to come here again. For the interior of the cafe, it has very clean bathrooms and plenty of tables and chairs. All the tables near the wall had many outlets, which is hard to find in coffee shops. Wifi is ok, sometimes it stops working which can be a little annoying at times. There is NO AC, which makes it more hotter and humid inside. I would recommend coming here only during the winter. For the summer, I can not even imagine how that would be. The menu is quite overwhelming and confusing, so it makes it intensely difficult to order. On top of that, drinks are outrageously expensive. While I love supporting small businesses and finding places to study, the drinks were NOT THAT GOOD to be that expensive. For the most part, I was paying for my time being spent at the cafe, as well as the seat I was occupying. The cafe did not have THE cafe vibe you long for when studying. There was foldable chairs at most tables, as well as regular wooden ones. Yes they are somewhat comfortable, but they did not exert the type of feel you get at coffee shops. The owner was friendly when I came in but, it definitely feels like a one man operation since drinks did take a little longer to make, which I don't mind. If you love supporting small businesses and finding quite places to study, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is peaceful and delightful to get work done. There was even a little sign outside that said Good luck to everyone on exams, which was so cute. This place is very much intended for high school and college students to do assignments. I just would not come back since the menu isn't THAT good to come back again.

J

The main pictures of this place are not accurate to what the cafe currently looks like. The vibe and atmosphere are not cozy and well decorated like the pictures. The drinks for here are served in plastic and paper cups, not glass or ceramic. The tables and chairs vary between plastic white ones and wooden ones, it’s not cohesive. However, there were several people there working on laptops so the environment is definitely conducive to studying or quietly chatting with friends. Each drink is about $8.75 and up. There is free WiFi and a restroom for customers. They play nice relaxing classical and lofi music. The cashier seemed nice, but a little brash.

Was in the area and decided to try this cafe. Plenty of free parking. Upon entering there are lots of tables with seats but it's seems more like an old school Internet cafe with lots of young students in their laptops. The barista is friendly. I wanted hot tea but they only offer warm tea. It was super sweet. I wish he would've asked what level of sweetness I wanted. It tasted like pure syrup. Overpriced in my opinion especially since I took my drink to go. They should offer two different prices. A higher price for customers who are seated for hours and using their Internet and a lesser price for take out/to-go Looks like there they offer food/snack items and specialize in other drinks. It appears they cater to young college kids with less discerning taste for tea or coffee. Just a place for them to hang out and study.

I was so excited to visit this place but make sure to check the times, closed Sundays and they open at noon. Dine in available out front and is limited. The cute drinks we really wanted to try like those in the pictures are no longer available because apparently the person who did those no longer works there. This place was not entirely what I had expected. The Tiramisu tasted like it was previously frozen and the macaroons were very hard. We also had a latte that did not taste like coffee at all & the ice teas tasted more like ginger ale than actual tea. If anyone has a recommendation on what is good from here I'd love to know.

Cafe Maji's attempt at being unique feels more like a jumbled mess. Nestled awkwardly between a late-night Korean fried chicken joint, an ice cream shop, and a Filipino bakery, its eccentric decorations and mismatched furniture miss the mark. The caramel latte I ordered was overwhelmingly sweet, drowning out any coffee flavor. The menu was a challenge to decipher, and even recommendations didn't salvage the experience. I won't be returning.

I’ve been to this place five or six times. The coffee is usually great—especially the hot pistachio latte—but the service has consistently been disappointing, and my experiences have only gotten worse over time. I don’t usually take things personally, and I’ve never left a bad review before, but this owner has given me too many reasons to speak up. On a previous visit, I came in to take an online class. I was almost late so as my friend and I were quickly setting up the owner interrupted and asked what I was ordering. I told him I’d order in a bit, but he seemed frustrated and said I had to order to stay. I did—no big deal. This most recent visit, I brought friends. Knowing how things usually go, I went to the counter right after setting my stuff down to order. He told me, “Not now! I’m busy, I get your order in ten minutes.” The place wasn’t even busy, but I tried to be understanding. Still, he never came back. He took orders from two other groups who came in after us, and while my friends got their drinks, I didn’t get anything—by then it felt too late. Fifteen minutes later, I went up to ask for water. Before I could say anything, he cut me off with, “No, you can’t have water anymore—I already gave water to other non-customers.” I was confused. He saw my friends had drinks, and I had tried to order earlier. I reminded him, and only then he said, “Oh right! What do you want to order?” He wasn’t rude at that point, but it was too late for coffee by then, and I just said “Never mind.” Please don’t support places like this. The owner does not understand customer service. It’s a bummer, because the coffee itself isn’t bad—but it’s not enough to make up for how poorly people are treated. I’ve given this place multiple chances, and every time it’s gotten worse. He seems constantly stressed and frustrated, slamming things behind the bar, which makes the environment tense and hard to work in—even with noise-canceling headphones. I don’t think he’s rude on purpose, but being overwhelmed isn’t an excuse to treat paying customers poorly. Sadly, I have to stop recommending this place. I genuinely hope he realizes that the way he runs this business isn’t okay. Also the alarming amount of warning signs should be a red flag that should’ve noticed earlier. If you still decide to go, get the hot pistachio latte. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.

It wasn't the strange, uneven layout that deterred me. It wasn't the lack of AC or even the overpriced $9 drinks; it was the service. I can't recall the last time a coffee shop, of all places, had absolutely horrendous customer service. The moment I sat down, I knew that I wanted to order something, but alarm bells were going off in my mind after seeing a menu placed on every table. It was like the owner was explicitly forcing people to buy something. Already at a rough start, I hesitantly sat down, and a quick glance at the menu revealed an overwhelming number of menu items, all at an inflated $9. It felt too intimidating and did not seem worth it at all. Still, the only saving grace of this place was a calm area to work, with a nice piano in the background. But all of those positives were ruined once the owner came up to me and rudely demanded, "Can you order something already? You can work later, but you need to get something". After being forced to order something to even be able to sit down, I've never felt this humiliated in a cafe. I usually don't take things personally, but this struck several nerves. I get that in any business shop, it is customary to order something to sit down, but the staff would gently remind you to take your time, or at least be cordial and inviting. This man lacked any social etiquette. I advise for anyone reading this to please look elsewhere. There are plenty of local cafes in the area, with much better prices and service. It really is a shame, though. I read another post here, and I do agree that the drinks aren't bad at all. The price, atmosphere, and service are what give this place a 1-star.

You seriously have to buy something to study lol? Already having a bad time enough catching up on work but I didn’t know you had to buy food or a drink in order to study at a place never have had that happen before and to top it off the drinks are bad LOLL

I don’t what is going on… but the original menu is no longer available. New hours are 1-11pm. The decor (that made the vibe seem chill is no longer there. It looks like the establishment is almost empty. The drinks we got were not that good. My cinnamon chai tea was supposed to be hot and I was given a cold drink (even the receipt has the drink wrong “iced”). To top it off non of our drinks were that good. I miss maji prior to COVID. Apparently they are getting a new cook. :( This place used to be one of my favorite spot. Super bummed.

Expensive. $8.50 per latte. No flavoring. Atmosphere is OK. Coffee was OK Different chairs and tables none of them match. Pictures are deceiving. They don't do coffee art per some of the pictures.

Apparently couldn't be bothered to get inventory before opening. Supposed to open at 12 noon but couldn't figure all their stuff in the morning? They were still closed for almost (if not more than) 2 hours after they were supposed to be open. Got an hour for lunch and I guess I had bad luck choosing to spend it here. Sign said they'd be back shortly, but ended up wasting the entirety of my lunch break. I used to be a regular. I come back here after 7 years and this is what happens.
