I can safely say I have finally found good lahmacun in Queens, maybe even the best I’ve had in New York. It’s a super casual place, nothing fancy, but perfect if you’re just looking for a quick and tasty bite. The food definitely hit the spot. One thing I found a bit surprising was that the waitstaff didn’t speak any Turkish, which you don’t really expect at a Turkish spot.
I fell in love with the food here! It was my first and definitely not my last. I decided to come here because of the reviews and the lunch special! Bread, soup and entree was perfect! Great portions. The service was okay. I wasn’t asked if I needed anything so I thought that was kinda weird. Besides that I will definitely be coming back! I also didn’t mind on how tranquil and quiet it was in there. I came around 2pm and there was barely anyone else there and I didn’t mind it! I know it can probably get busy in the evening and weekends so I would definitely like to come out in the night and have some dinner. Next time steak kabab!
Came across this in social media and it didn’t disappoint. We love turkish food and there are some dishes we wanted to try like the “lahmacun” and kunefe. We loved everything and also the very attentive staff. Totally recommended!
Been coming here for over a year now and love it every time! The menu is diverse and easy to read with explanations of each dish. The staff is very kind and friendly. I love to sit towards the back where the room is surrounded by windows. Perfect to go on a sunny day! Or if you just want a quick bite, sitting towards the front is nice too if you’re alone and just with one other person.
Excellent food, always fresh, well seasoned, great portions, simple dishes with a lot of flavor, menu is very easy to read and understand. Everyone in here is always kind and helpful so me and the family always feel welcomed. During warmer weather there is a back patio which is always nice to enjoy. This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit here is Astoria.
Everything was on the spot Delicious food generous portions Attentive wait staff We loved it so much I forgot to take a picture 🤭
Disclaimer : I have only been here for breakfast on 3 occasions. This place is in Astoria. Amazing Turkish Breakfast. Their omlettes are high quality and so is the breakfast platter ( with different kinds of cheeze, salad, honey etc) .. the Turkish tea is okay. Never had any complaints with service. It has a pleasant ambience, very airy and there is an outdoor area in the back. 4 👍 up.

Brought my Chinese colleagues (they were pleasantly surprised as for them Turkish food is just kebap) for a breakfast after seeing that they are offering pide (aka. Turkish thin crust pizza) on the menu, which is a rare find in NY. Good service and nice range of food offering which is not limited to kebap kebap and some more kebap..
So delicious. We had the "Turkish pizza" as an appetizer. Love the flavors and roasting of it. We ordered the mixed meat platter with lamb, steak, beef and chicken. The meat was cooked so succulently. The salad is very fresh and crisp. Their wait staff are friendly and nice. The rice was some of the best white rice I've ever had. Pleasantly surprised by this place. Will definitely be having more Turkish food and I want to come back for their breakfast. Very cute ambience and reasonable prices.
OMG!! Best place to eat a nice morning breakfast. The atmosphere is amazing, very open space (I'm a new mom), and they do have the highchair for the baby, which is great. Service, overall super satisfied, they were quick polite and spoke Spanish 👍, which makes it even more caring for their Spanish customers. Music is good, not too loud. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. Whoever is cooked our food. IT WAS THE BEST 👌 Thank you, it was excellent, even the portions. IT WAS GREAT!. OVERALL a true nice experience.
The restaurant itself is very clean and organized very well. The food is always fresh and is very tasty. The workers are very kind and take requests. The cook time is ideal as well as the price. Overall, highly recommended.
Great meat quality. We ordered mixed grill which had 5 types of meat and all were delicious and so tender, also ordered lamb chops and humus. Lamb chops were well cooked and delicious. Humus was average quality. Keep in mind you will be charged %18 tip by themselves, and if paying with card add %2.5 so minimum total %20.
Great food, great service and very cute place! It was our first time in New York and we were looking for a Turkish restaurant to have a nice dinner, found this one near the subway exit and not disappointed! Prices are really good compared to bunch of other Turkish restaurant we’ve been and portions were pretty big! That was a huge Iskender, had to ask for a to go box! Staff was very friendly and service fast pretty fast. Food was delicious. Closed the day with great Turkish coffee. Definitely stop by if you’d like some Turkish food!
We were seated immediately. The server came fairly quickly as did the food. They had a $17.00 lunch special which came with an appetizer, main, and a drink. The hummus was awesome, as was the bread. I ordered lamb adana. It came with rice and salad. An average sized portion but worth the price. I'd recommend.
Best authentic Turkish food. Absolutely loved the fried liver 10/10. Must try the Gyro, thinly sliced and seasoned well 10/10. They do need some work with servers and they need a host that sees everything and instructs. Service was not the way I expect to find in Turkish run establishments. Been there a few time and the food is consistently tasty!
Definitely a step up from your regular afgan grill restaurants. Customer service here was awesome, I love it when people make actual suggestions rather than being robots and say "everything is good, depends on you...". Our waiter took the time to make recommendation based on previous customer feedback. Food was great, if your hungry I recommend you try there mix grill. Very friendly they even had us try free samples before we made our selection.
A lovely place with amazing food, we came here specifically for the soujouk pide bread but were pleasantly surprised with all the other offerings. The calamari was perfectly crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. The accompanying sauce had a nice tartness as well (might be in-house!). The sigara boregi are delicious phyllo rolls filled with feta and dill. I wanted to order seconds! And the star of the show, the soujouk pide bread, was even more delicious than the photos! The bread had a lovely texture of crispy and soft and the mozzarella cheese was melted perfectly. The sliced soujouk was super and had a lovely fragrance. Can't wait to visit here again and try their other items!
We come here every Sunday for traditional Turkish breakfast — always fresh and delicious! I also love their dinner menu, especially the lentil soup, lahmacun, and kebabs. Great food and friendly service every time!
Great staff, food always on point, service is great, and the wait time is quick and efficient. The flavors are always on amazing. My favorite spot for good food good company and great decor.
Truva Grill offers excellent Turkish cuisine. Generous portions. All the dishes, appetizers and deserts are very authentic. I know because I am Turkish. Price is very fair and reasonable. Service is good.
We have tried many middle eastern and Turkish joints across US and this one stands out among the best in taste and quality of food. We ordered kabob platter and rice pudding and these items beat our expectations in quality and taste. A must visit in NY.
Seriously one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I’ve had in a while. It closely compares to what you’d actually get in İstanbul. You will not be disappointed by the food, service, or atmosphere. In fact, I was highly impressed by all three. The lentil soup, lamacun, and beef kebab were so flavorful. Hats off to the chef. And with a squeeze of lemon juice? Utterly mouthwatering. Do yourself a favor and go here. It’s right across the street from the MTA station in Astoria, Queens. Still thinking about it weeks later.
The best hummus, I’ve ever taste in my life. Good environment, food is delicious and the kebabs very good too. The salads are very fresh, also the falafels are very crunchy. Totally recommend. They have a patio, that you can sit very comfortable and keeps physical distance. Good prices, finding parking it’s a little tricky.
This is a very good Halal Turkish spot and it's roght near the Ditmars Blvd train station. They have a good ambiance and a good amount of seating. They also have outdoor seating options for larger groups as the indoor space tends to get a little tight otherwise. We ordered the Mix Appetizers and the Spinach Pide. The appetizers were a lot of food especially with the side bread, we got full very quickly just on this. The Pide was nice and hot, crispy, and super flavorful. The service was great and pricing was quite reasonable given the overall experience. Can't wait to come by again!
Service was great, food was even better. Highly recommend the lentil soup - felt like I was back in Istanbul. We also had the lahmacun which was also great. If you don’t know what entree to get, I recommend the mixed grill. You get a bit of everything! Also don’t forget to try traditional Turkish drinks like gazoz and/or şalgam.
Love coming here. Food is excellent, always fresh and delicious. The restaurant is always clean and the staff and management are very nice and attentive. My favorite Turkish restaurant. I have never had a bad experience here. From appetizers to dessert , everything is always great.
Came here last Saturday for Valentine’s Day sat right away clean area spacious food was delicious fresh the coffee was amazing. The baklava was amazing. The semolina cake was amazing. The bread was amazing. The calamari was the best First time here I’m coming back this Saturday with my daughter from Texas. That’s how good it is and I don’t know what these other people are talking about with a bad reviews obviously they have something wrong with them or they own another Turkish place in the area they try to give bad reviews cause it’s impossible to get this place. Any bad reviews I even gave tips to the cooks. That’s how good the food was Plus, I gave it 30% tip to the waiters great service!
Truva is absolutely fantastic and I can't recommend it highly enough! We had the pleasure of having a larger dinner party here, and the menu and service were both truly outstanding. We sat on their covered patio and had ample space. Service was detail-oriented, and the food, my gosh - perfection. Everything from the appetizers to dinner courses and desert were just delicious. Everyone left completely stuffed LOL. What a wonderful night thanks to the Truva staff for their beautiful atmosphere and incredible dishes.
I had a wonderful experience at TRUVA Café & Grill! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the authentic Turkish and Greek flavors in every bite. The back patio is a hidden gem — spacious and perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal. I especially loved the homemade bread and kebabs. Definitely one of the best Mediterranean spots in the neighborhood! Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious food and great service.
First time visiting. We were a group of 4. Service was excellent. The food was delicious. From the lentil soup to the mix grill platter with different meats, the hummus and the french fries. They serve you bread as an appetizer which is tasty. They make a homemade lemonade which is very good. I would definitely come back to this place.
We celebrated our mom's birthday and had the best time ever. This was our first time eating Turkish food, and I cannot put into words how delicious and well presented all the food was. I almost dont want to post this review because I want to gatekeep this but my values are propelling me to share this wonderful restaurant with the rest of the world. Phenomenal. The food is so light yet so flavorful. I wish someone else's birthday was coming up so we could go again.
I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. The food is incredible. I am not a big lover but I scarfed everything down here. The lentil soup here is the best thing on the menu. I swear, it tastes like lobster bisque! Go with a lot of people so that you can try a lot of different dishes! The dessert here is also excellent
We really had a great time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was great, which is why I didn't mind when they automatically charged me 18% gratuity. As a matter of fact, I left extra tips as a thank you for the staff. We all enjoyed the dishes and the portion as well. Dessert was also delicious, along with the Turkish coffee. I'm glad we found this spot to add to our favorite places' list.
Always something authentically delicious to eat here. The manti and the pide are very good. Helpful and friendly staff make the experience very enjoyable. Comfortable seating allows for big parties.

Truva never misses, hands down the best turkish food in nyc. Staff is great and they're very accommodating for families. Also, service is very quick.
Amazing food, service and very good price! I always go there or order delivery. Usually one plate is good for 2.

This is a nice Turkish Restaurant serving Astoria and the surrounding area. Moderately clean facilities. Good food. Nice staff. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Party room is available. Reasonably priced. Card payments are accepted. Cash discount. Give this place a try. We will definitely be going back.
Good turkish food. Pide(Turkish version of pizza) was good. I wish they was more vegitarian options for Pide (just 2). It would be great if Pide came with a dipping sauce. Falafel was average. Appetizer platter was good (Baba ghanoush, Hummus, zatziki, another eggplant dip) & they give you lots of fresh warm bread. We didn't have dessert, so can't comment on that. Service was excellect!
Appetizers weren't great and their dipping sauces not so good; but their kebab (chicken and beef) platters were delicious, and their warm fluffy pita bread hit the spot. The warm and friendly staff would make you want to go back for more. Plus, you must try their delicious rice pudding or other desserts.
We visited this Turkish restaurant for the first time because we were craving that type of food, and it did the job. The place has a simple, unpretentious atmosphere, and the food was decent—it satisfied our craving and left us full. What stood out the most was the service, which was genuinely good from start to finish. Overall, it’s a solid option if you’re looking for Turkish food without expecting anything too fancy.
I don't know what it is about this restaurant but I can never get a picture of my full plate. Once the plate comes, I'm ready to eat! It's so so good

Great place , came late and we were still seated. The food was good, great almond desert. Would give it a 5 star if only they would give us glasses for our ayran drinks and also tap water.
It is strange that they make you buy bottled water when NYC has the best tap water in the world. Lots of upcharges - it does feel like they are nickle and diming you.
Great food, polite waiters, cozy atmosphere, oldish but clean restrooms, reasonable prices & as per my experience no significant wait.

We came here on a whim. I had heard about this cafe but did know what it served. I discovered that they offered turkish kebabs and couldn't resist the lamb chops. The seating was nice and comfort…
For vegetarians, options were limited. We had their platter for appetizer with hummus etc. And it was pretty good. Wine was delicious and was highly recommended by the staff. For main, I was bit disappointed as they didn't have many options. It's not a fancy place if you are looking for ambiance but I think their backyard opens up in the summer. Given other options in the area, we might not be back but the staff there was super friendly and nice.
Outside you'll see this cute chef inflatable urging you to go inside. Inside there are plenty of tables and service is quick and efficient. They close at 9:45 pm, so make sure you're there earlier. We were there at 9:15, they warned us about closing, but accommodated is anyway, which was great. The lamb chops were over cooked and lacked much flavor. We also got the mixed grill. It came with several types of meat. The most delicious, and reason alone to come back were the lamb shish kabobs. They were mildly seasoned, allowing the meat to shine, and cooked to perfection. I'm not a white meat fan in general, because it's easy to overcook... but the chicken shish kabobs were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. I enjoyed them. The rest of the meat was ehh.. the dish included chicken and lamb gyro meat, and compared to the chunks it was just okay. I was very disappointed with the adana kabobs, it was overcooked and lacked flavor. Don't sleep on the salad and the rice that come with the plate thought. They were both very flavorful and added to the dish. The awesome rice pudding is a must here. It was fantastic. It's made with clotted cream, was so thick, with just the right amount of sweetness. Dangerously good. 3 Almost 4 stars!
Let’s get past the poor service, Inattentive and very spotty. The Doner came chopped up, the sign of poor slicing. It should have been nice strips about 1-2 in wide and thin. The taste was ok but the texture was a little tough. The branzino was very good. The liver cubes were slightly gamely but good, the should have been cut up smaller. Wines are inexpensive. It’s also nice to see small and large portions on the menu. Overall inexpensive dining for a Turkish restaurant.
We had a party of 8. More than half od main dishes were served cold. Really disappointed.
I really enjoyed Truva over the years and it’s still one of my favorite Turkish food place to go. However the Price Increase stunned me recently and now has entered the fine dining cost stratosphere. This has brought down the rating significantly. Their mixed grill plates are tasty, but at that price point I have better options. The Liver cubes are always a winner. Not sure if I will be back given the better price to food options in Astoria.
Feta cigars were ok, a little water-logged and wish they were made a bit crispier on the outside. Bit of a diner-style menu, it seems, with a good variety. The prices seem reasonable.

Ordered off of seamless. The portions are big but I can’t believe how much we paid for unseasoned chicken and plain white rice. It looked nothing like the pictures. There was absolutely no taste. I ordered the chicken and my partner had the lamb and he’s been having stomach issues since last night.
Pretty disappointed with most items here. After reading the following reviews, I had high hopes but sadfully everything we got was mediocre. Ordered the donor and the adana kabab. Both was really fatty and not cooked properly. Food was bland and just seemed really old. Staff was friend and attentive but the chef definitely had an off night. If you consider the cost the truth is there are a lot better options out there. Just take the time and venture out.
This isn’t a restaurant! It is an expensive fast food joint. There is bunch of waiters on the floor but no one greeds you. You are debating if you would just sit on any table that available or wait for someone to greed you properly and assign you a table. Food was horrible; We ordered Doner (Gyro) plate with rice and salad on the same dish. Doner ( shredded beef) was spongy and perhaps were cut and prepared hours before and microwaved before servicing. I think that’s why it was spungy and not hot enough. Salad was terrible, i don’t think it was even washed, salad was wilted and tasteless. We also ordered Adana Kebab ( ground beef on skewers). Again tasteless but edible. Fast food style, same, salad was terrible. Only thing that was just decent ( not great ) was mixed meze platter. That’s why I am giving this place 2-star. Ohhh before I forget, they have a large TV on top of your head showing some non sense show. ALSO, loud horrible low quality turkish taverna music were blasting over our head. It was just Unreal Experience! As you can understand, I will never ever go into this place nor recommend it to any of my friends. Do you know what’s mind bugging is that these Turks know whats good Turkish food should take like. They own this place, they work there. How are they serving this kind of junk food ton people and charge full price for it? Just mind boggling! Guys, do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money, time and save yourself aggravation.

They scammed me with the billing. The server wasn’t honest to me about the prices of the food, although everything was mentioned on the menu, but I ordered two family platters, she didn’t mention to me that if you increase the size, the price will go up as well.
I was disappointed with the lunch menu here. The menu (both inside and outside) clearly shows two skewers of kebab, but when served, I only received one. When I asked, the staff said it was a “smaller version,” yet nowhere on the menu is this mentioned, and there’s only one size option listed. This is misleading and feels like false advertising. Either the menu should be updated to show what is actually being served, or customers should be informed before ordering. Very disappointing experience.
Been there more than once, today my plate had several bugs like this one shown in picture and definitely didn’t complete eating. Server said “nothing i can do”, idk if he was expecting me to dip those bugs in hot sauce and keep eating. I paid and didn’t make a scene, but for sure not stepping there anymore.
As a customer for over 6 years, this was my last time here. Truva has become a terrible place for the value and especially customer service. Beef platter shown in the photo is $24 but portion size is so small! Their prices increased insanely after pandemic for no better reason than that they can. They charge for water & for every other little thing you ask for. I asked for 2 sides of salad and they gave me small portion size for the price. I asked for more salad and was given attitude about it from server. The worst part was when the check came, they placed a service charge for 4 people! I took a look at the menu & it was not written there. I’ve been in the restaurant business before & the minimum number of people needed to add a service charge is 6. That was a bad move from you guys, shame on you. When confronted with why she added that, she said it’s been that way for 2 years. I’ve been here just 2 weeks ago with NO service charge & have been a customer longer than their server employees have been working there. She proceeded to say that even if she removes the service charge it would be the same price with the tip. Tip is never mandatory & it’s up to US to decide how much you get depending on the service we have received. To management: if you have any backbone & care about customers who made your business in the first place, I strongly advise you to invest in intensive customer service training for your employees because they are lacking.
I simply asked for french fries in my sandwich. It shouldn’t be this hard to satisfy clients needs when we pay whatever it is and don’t receive proper care. They forgot to send my bread last time when I ordered, another time was my drinks and so on. I love their menu but their preparation needs to be checked. That one time when they forget my bread I called them and said “ you guys always forget something on my orders and I keep ordering. I won’t be ordering again “ the lady who answered the phone said “ if that’s the case why you are ordering “ not even saying sorry or asking me if i want my bread. How I suppose to eat food with no bread. Definitely this was my last time eating from there. Not recommended for those reasons.
I am giving them low rating because this place charges 18% automatic gratuity IF THE SERVERS ASSUME YOU ARE LESS LIKELY TO LEAVE A TIP ! Please, do not get me wrong. I have no problem with automatic gratuity if it is disclosed before hand, but this place does not disclose that and the restaurant charges you automatic gratuity if you LOOK a certain way. This is a DISCRIMINATORY practice that should end. I decided to tip the staff more that that automatic tips because I am a good tipper. However, that practice is insulting. Otherwise, the food was good and the desserts were good.
If I could give less than one star, I would I’d like to share my experience with this place. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. During my first visit, one of the servers was extremely rude. I ordered sunny-side-up eggs and, although I initially mispronounced the name, I used a translator to confirm it and explained that English is not my first language. I also clearly asked for the eggs to be fully cooked. When the food arrived, it was not fully cooked. When I politely asked about it, the server said, “We don’t make sunny-side-up eggs that way.” I explained that I had ordered the same dish fully cooked at many other restaurants. He then responded, “You don’t even know the name of the dish—how did you order it?” The tone was very disrespectful and shocking for me and my family. Despite this, I gave the restaurant a second chance. Unfortunately, the experience was still disappointing. A server refused a simple request to slightly adjust the air conditioning, even though I was sitting directly underneath it and nearby tables were empty. When I offered to change tables, she said the restaurant was full, which was not true—tables remained empty for over an hour. At checkout, I asked for the bill twice and was completely ignored. Also, during my second visit, I was alone. I felt very uncomfortable due to the way the male servers kept staring at me The food was paid for, yet the level of service felt dismissive and unprofessional. Based on these experiences, I will not be returning.
Very disappointed. I paid $21 for a tiny portion — just a few small pieces of chicken over rice — and not even a side dish included. On top of that, the lentil soup was $12 for a small, tiny cup. The prices are extremely high for the low quality and small portions. I hadn’t ordered from this place in 4 years and decided to give it another chance, but nothing has improved. I highly do NOT recommend this place Update: I’m honestly surprised by the way the owner is responding to customers. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, you’re insisting that items were included when they clearly were not. The lentil soup normally comes with bread, so there’s no need to act like it was something extra. A professional business should take responsibility, not talk down to customers. If this is how you handle feedback, it explains why the quality and experience have gone down. It’s much better to fix the issue and improve the service rather than replying to people in a rude, defensive way. A respectful attitude goes a long way in running a successful restaurant
HORRIBLE! I HAVE BEEN IN NEW YORK MY ENTIRE LIFE AND THIS IS A CRAZY RIP OFF! if you want real and delicious Turkish food, there are so many better places that offer BETTER quantities, BETTER QUALITY, and simply BETTER FOOD! I paid $17 for 5 pieces of tiny shrimp and when we were asking why the price was high, the owner said “Well you don’t know what you’re eating!” Look, as a fellow New Yorker, I try to be as honest as I can for my community. I am sorry but you can get better quality and quantity in many other locations.
Never Again. Got two chicken Adana large platters for $52 to go, and guess what? Food was ready literally in 10 mins. Amazing right? Without thinking twice, i picked up my food and got home in 15 mins. Opened the food and first thing i realized that food was cold, meaning it was not grilled fresh at all. On top of that, chicken smelled weird. I was so hungry and without any hasitation, started eating. Withing 30 mins, i got food poisoning. If owner is reading this, have some modesty, respect and dignity. We, customers, are paying for your living. Do not serve us left over, frozen and cold food. How did you even magically grill Adana kebabs in few mins!!!!
English: “I can honestly say this is the worst doner kebab I’ve ever had in my life. It tasted like it was made from ground meat, and I did not expect it to be this bad. I truly regret not eating somewhere else. I strongly advise against ordering any meat here. What they call ‘meat doner’ is absolutely not real doner. I left my plate just like this, it was beyond terrible. I will also report this place to the health authorities for inspection, because the menu says ‘meat doner,’ not ‘ground meat doner’ or whatever else they mixed in there
I’m disappointed. Born and raised in the very same culture, I unfortunately say that the food was the worst I’ve ever had. Service guys had no smile on their faces and they literally look like they want to finish their shift asap. The lahmacun had miligrams of meat on it, we just chewed dough. Döner was so dry, İskender was just meat with tomato paste. Nothing was similar to what we ate back home and we couldn’t finish none of our dishes. I don’t think of coming back and recommending to friends.
