THE BOTANY at Acropolis (Roof Garden)

An absolute gem in Athens! I had the pleasure of dining at The Botany and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip. From the very first moment, the staff were unbelievably friendly — not just polite, but genuinely warm and attentive, which made me feel instantly welcome. The atmosphere is wonderful: elegant yet relaxed, with a rooftop view that makes the whole experience unforgettable. It’s the kind of place where you can simply sit back, enjoy, and soak up the beauty of Athens. And the food? Exceptional. Every dish was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and the creativity of the kitchen. Altogether, a perfect evening — one that combines hospitality, atmosphere, and cuisine at the very highest level. I can’t recommend The Botany enough!

Literally everything was perfect! Attentive waiters, great atmosphere, amazing food and the best view at the Akropolis. 100% recommended!

Restaurant ayant reçu un macaron Michelin en 2025. Situé sur le rooftop d’un hôtel en plein centre (6eme étage) il permet de dîner tout en contemplant l’acropole. La terrasse doit très agréable l’été mais fin janvier c’était un peu juste pour être dehors donc nous étions abrités sous un patio en verre. Prix corrects pour ce niveau de cuisine, idem pour les vins les tarifs ne s’envolent pas. Nous avions choisi le rouge Domaine Zafeirakis Limniona. Parfait pour un dîner romantique à 2.

Φανταστική εμπειρία. Ολα ήταν υπέροχα. Ισορροπημένα. Νορμαλ τιμές Γιαυτο που παρέχουν. Θέα ακρόπολη Οπωσδήποτε πρέπει να δοκιμάσετε το shrimp saganaki και mousaka donuts. Ήταν πραγματικά τέλεια. Για τους λάτρεις των greens η χορτόπιτα ήταν εξαιρετική. Επίσης το σέρβις ήταν ευγενέστατο

Restaurant incroyable avec double vue sur l'Acropole et la colline du Lycabette. Nous sommes arrivés vers 19h30 et nous avons vu le soleil se coucher sur l'Acropole pendant l'aperitif...magique.... Personnel au petit soin, adorable, très a l écoute. Repas divin, nous avons tous pris des plats différents et tout était délicieux... La vue du restaurant la nuit tombée est magique. Nous reviendrons avec un énorme plaisir, notre plus belle soirée sur Athènes ! Merci a tout le personnel 😊

Επισκέφτηκα το THE BOTANY και η εμπειρία μου ήταν απλά άψογη. Το φαγητό ήταν εξαιρετικό, με προσεγμένα πιάτα, φρέσκα υλικά και μοναδικές γεύσεις. Η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν άριστη, με ευγενικό και εξυπηρετικό προσωπικό που φρόντισε να μη μας λείψει τίποτα. Ο χώρος είναι όμορφος, καθαρός και με ωραία ατμόσφαιρα που δημιουργεί μια πολύ ευχάριστη εμπειρία. Σίγουρα θα ξαναπάω και το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα!

Εξαιρετικό φαγητό και σέρβις. Αν μπορούσα θα έβαζα 7 αστέρια! Ένα φιλόξενο rooftop με εκπληκτική θέα στην Ακρόπολη, τις στήλες Ολυμπίου Διός αλλά και τον Λυκαβηττό. Όλα προσεγμένα έως και την παραμικρή λεπτομέρεια.

Μαγική ατμόσφαιρα, θεσπέσιες γεύσεις με την καλύτερη εξυπηρέτηση από το προσωπικό! Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα για όποιον αναζητά ξεχωριστές γεύσεις με αισθητική!

Vue au top Service et nourriture magnifique

We had a wonderful night at this rooftop restaurant. Amazing views of the Parthenon and the food was excellent. Michael was our server and he made the experience wonderful. What a great server! A perfect evening in Greece. Their cocktails were great and everything we ate was exceptional.

The staff and food were top notch and the view couldn't be beat no matter where the table is. If you want the acropolis view I recommend reserving the table. We did and didn't regret it one bit. The staff was amazing and knowledgeable about Greek wine, so we got to try some great glasses.

It is a nice experience to have perfect dinner with nice portions, quality service, amazing view, good variation for wine. Chef is in the kitchen making kind of cute magical touch on the meal. Waitresses are so fast and professional. Better tonmake a reservation for a good view for sunset.

Botany is my absolute go-to when I want to combine breathtaking views, unique energy, and a philosophy that radiates quality and style. The food is exceptional, the presentation impressive, and the service flawless, with a team that makes you feel truly welcome from the very first moment. It’s the restaurant I fully trust for my professional dinners and gatherings with friends ,it never fails to make me proud. I also celebrated my birthday here, and every detail was perfectly arranged, making the whole evening truly magical. Botany is not just a restaurant !! it’s an experience you’ll want to relive again and again.

Let me tell you…. This place is amazing! Attentive service, excellent food and atmosphere was perfect for a romantic dinner. When we got ready to leave, the taxi driver wanted to charge us €60 when it only cost €6.5 to get there. We came back into the hotel and told Alania, the duty manager, about what happened. She called us a taxi personally, sat us down with complementary wine and nuts, and told us to relax and not worry about a thing ❤️ The botany rooftop is the restaurant in this particular hotel.

Food and ambiance with view of Acropolis was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend the donuts and Greek salad for starters, and John Dory fish and beef cheeks for entrees. Also very classy environment. As feedback to the restaurant, had a very strange experience from booking to leaving. We booked on Open Table, and they ask what type of view you prefer, which was great. We booked a reservation, but when I looked on Google for directions it said they were closed. Had to call to confirm they’re open. Someone needs to manage that business profile. When we arrived, they didn’t check our reservation and tried to seat us in wrong spot even though we requested Acropolis view and there were plenty of open tables, making us have to awkwardly say something. Someone needs to organize that process - if you’re gonna give people the option, have staff look at what they said before seating. Then during dinner we were going to buy a bottle of wine with our entrees, but they dropped off the food and never came back until we were done. They started setting up for breakfast the next day instead of asking if we wanted anything else, and we had to flag them down. Finally, we asked if there was a wine store open nearby so we could get a bottle to take back to the hotel. They told us nothing was open, so we ordered a bottle to go. On the way home we passed multiple open shops with wine available. That was more funny than anything, but was icing on the cake after the strange service overall. These were all really basic management things I hope can be fixed for future guests.

Absolutely great service and good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The views of the acropolis are beautiful, definitely go during sunset. The Moussaka donuts were incredible! Beautiful way to spend our last night in Athens.

Wonderful spot! Was unsure because restaurant (and hotel) is new w/ few reviews. Staff went out of their way to welcome and please. Food was excellent. Views of either Acropolis or Temple of Zeus the Olympian. Top-notch evening.

The food and service at this restaurant was all 5 star. Everything from the wine to the entrees to the desserts was superb. I can’t recommend this highly enough.

Great food and fabulous views

Dined there on Feb 23th 2026! The experience was absolutely wonderful - the staff is very polite and attentive, prices are within reason, view is perfect. And last but not least, the food. Everything my fiancee and I tasted was impeccable, we had a wonderful dinner to celebrate a personal achievement at work! Will definitely revisit on another special occasion!

Η θέα προς τον Παρθενώνα και τους στύλους του Ολυμπίου Διός είναι μαγευτική, ειδικά το βράδυ που φωτίζει τα πάντα με χρυσές αποχρώσεις. Ο χώρος είναι κομψός, άνετος, και η ατμόσφαιρα γεμάτη ζεστασιά. Το φαγητό ήταν εξαιρετικό: γεύσεις ισορροπημένες, υλικά άψογα επιλεγμένα, και κάθε πιάτο ήταν μια μικρή έκπληξη. Η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν άψογη, με φιλικό προσωπικό που φρόντισε κάθε λεπτομέρεια. Σίγουρα θα επιστρέψω και το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα!

Όμορφο rooftop με πολύ ζέστη ατμόσφαιρα, πολύ αξιόλογα προσεγμένα πιάτα ,πραγματικά σε κάνουν να νιώθεις σαν το σπίτι σου το προσωπικο! Παραγγείλαμε λουκουμάδες μουσακα και σοφριτο για ορεκτικά και αρνάκι φρικασέ και μοσχάρι φιλέτο και ήταν υπέροχα, μας πρότειναν και έναν κρασί που ταίριαζε με το γεύμα μας!!! Το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα!!!

Επισκέφτηκα το The Botany σήμερα, εξυπηρετικοί όλοι τους. Το φαγητό εξαιρετικό και αρκετά ιδιαίτερο. Η θέα & η ατμόσφαιρα φανταστική. Επισης, οι τιμές αρκετά προσιτές.Αξίζει να έρθετε να το επισκεφτείτε έστω και μια φορά σίγουρα

The table we were seated at did not have views of the Acropolis (probably the only one there that did not). It took over 30 minutes to get the wine & cocktails we ordered. The atmosphere was decent and they did try harder once we complained about not having service. The food was good but not exceptional.

The wonderful food was an overshadowed by the poor service. The restaurant was not crowed so it should have not been an issue. We waited over 30 minutes to get our drinks as the server forgot to place our order. Also disappointed in the view. The Acropolis view is only from a few seats in the back of the restaurant. Disappointing experience.

I had dinner at the Botany Roof Garden at the Acropolis on Friday evening May 16th. I booked in through Open Table and was looking forward to a high-end dinner in a special location. I was disappointed at the entire experience, would not return and would not recommend the restaurant. I had an espresso martini, a small appetizer, steak and a glass of red wine and my bill was $76.36. The setting is nice and located on the roof the Botany hotel. The website boasts of “phenomenal” views of the Acropolis and of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. From the table I was offered in the center of the rooftop I had a clear view of the Temple but wondered where the view of the Acropolis was to be found. As I exited at the end of my dinner, I notice a small inside dining room with a few two top tables and peaked in. There was a stunning view of the Acropolis, but you would not have seen the Temple from that location. I was not offered the choice or made aware of the inside tables which would have been nice. I started with an espresso martini which was very weak and watery. I found that the menu was limited and disappointing. I was dining alone and asked about the portion size of the few appetizers and informed they were all planned for two people. I ended ordering the “bread with dips” which came with olives and one dip; a bland tomato paste dip that did not save the dry breads. For my main course I ordered the Tagliata trip tip steak and asked for it to be medium. It arrived cold and more to the medium rare side from my judgement. The “mini vegetables” consisted of one carrot and one piece of broccolini. The homemade potato chips were the high point of the meal and can be ordered as an appetizer. The service was pleasant, and the server was attentive and paced the meal just right checking in without being overbearing or intrusive. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and the quality of the food and would not recommend the Botany Roof Garden at the Acropolis other than perhaps a glass of wine to appreciate one of the two views.

We read reviews of food being “over priced” but as we sat down and saw the menu, we weren’t put off. That was until at least the food was served. “Bread and dips” - the dip was a tomato paste - totally bland. The bread was like leftover toast from morning breakfast. Dry. Terrible. Had olives, my husband spat his out - worst olive he’s ever tasted. Also tried fennel pastry, awful. Both ordered John Dory fish for mains. It was served almost cold, on a cold soggy bed of greens. So bad infact, we had to question if it was fresh (it was rolled as if out a frozen bag) we were advised it is fresh, and if we wanted, they could “burn” it for us, to make it hot. Anyway, we agreed in the end to pay for our 2 cocktails, the bread and dips and bad olive and left the restaurant. To be honest, the service was fine, waitress pleasant and apologetic. The views were good. But the food was absolutely dreadful. Don’t waste your time, there are so many lovely family run restaurants in the area.

I hate leaving negative reviews on a place but I’m still thinking about how bad this food was two weeks later. The server recommended we order their signature dishes - the moussaka donuts, saganaki tortelloni and the John Dory. The donuts were very doughy, with not much moussaka filling at all. The tortelloni were honestly some of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. The pasta dough was way too thick, so they were tacky and chewy. The filling could have been cat food. The John Dory was fishy, with gross white sauce all over, very unappealing. Ya, the view is nice, but not worth the extremely disappointing food. I would avoid.

Went there for Valentine’s Day and they completely forgot one person’s (my girlfriend) meal. The service was terrible and had there not have been a view it would have been a complete failure. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I paid €200 for drinks and didn’t have food to go with it (forgot one dish, the steak went cold as I didn’t want to eat waiting for her meal). They offered free dessert as an apology and then forgot to bring that too. 0/10 do not recommend unless you just want a 2 minute view and then leave without ordering a single thing from their (limited) menu.
