The food here is very very good. Chef Woody does an awesome job of keeping the authentic flavors in his dishes. Service was excellent as well. Also I had a pineapple mojito that was really well made. Dinner course was the combination pad thai and the massaman curry with chicken. This has to be the best pad thai in the city. Just delicious!
I really enjoyed eating here. Most importantly, the food is delicious and beautifully presented. The menu had a wide variety of dishes too. I was eating vegetarian, but with people who weren't, and I felt like I had tons of god options, which isn't the case everywhere. In addition to the food, the restaurant itself is beautiful. I'm happy for this addition to Atlanta's food scene!
Outstanding! Best pad see ew I've ever had, and my son's fish dish was nothing short of spectacular. The vibe was serene and beautiful, and the server was also. : ) This will be a regular spot for us. @BananaLeafATL @EatBananaLeafATL #RestaurantsinSandySpringsGA #AtlantaEats #buzzybooth
We had a very pleasant dinner. Everything we ordered was excellent and I'd order them again except for the wings (too sweet). Both curries were excellent as were the pot stickers.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place for a cozy dinner. The service was impeccable - our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful.
Excellent service. Nice vegan options. Delicious food. Great atmosphere!
I’m Chinese and I moved to the US in 2017. I had been to Thailand many times when I was in China. After I moved to this country, I spent 2 years in NYC and 4 years in Connecticut - I had tried my fair share of Thai restaurants and got scared of going, because they were just super underwhelming. I moved to Atlanta very recently and found Banana Leaf by accident today - and OMG! This is the BEST Thai restaurant I have ever tried in the US!!! You are missing out if you don’t come and try! Full flavor, the real Thai experience!!!
I ordered the pad see ew, a Thai tea, and miso soup with no tofu or seaweed and it was delicious!
I enjoyed the food/drinks very much. The place is a bit crowded when full, but intimate. Would recommend
This place is incredible!! Such an outstanding experience. Food was simply delectable. Drinks were tasty and fun. The atmosphere was an adventure out of the hustle and bustle of the city! 10/10!
Beautiful atmosphere, and the food was delicious! The garlic chicken was so flavorful. Definitely recommend. A very cute date spot.
The Banana Leaf Thai is seriously the best! Their Thai cuisine is out of this world, and don't even get me started on the sushi. Plus, their cocktail and wine selections are on point. And Woody is a total pro behind the bar!
When you walk in you are met at the door by the smiling staff who is eager to seat and serve you. The ambiance is soft, inviting, and welcoming from the low lights, the incredible smells/aromas to the hanging wisteria that adorns the ceiling like a vibrant blanket. The attention to detail is beautiful and it almost makes you feel like you have drifted away even if for a moment. And to tie more into their culture the food that is brought out in a timely manner is fresh, plated impeccably, and authentic tasting. Oh, and can I say 5-star because they will box your food for you in front of you of course, that’s a bonus for me especially for a quaint restaurant. I sat out on the patio, listened to one of the best relaxing playlists, and had the Red Ocean which they made specific for me paired with a Lychee mojito and it was chefs kiss. I later sat at the bar and had a cucumber mint mojito made again by Jobi, when I say I may just come back for just this drink!!! My goodness! But let me not leave out the fact that I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners whose name was Jobi, he was so down to earth, accommodating along with the coolest smile that he made me feel valued as a paying customer. This was my first time here and I can’t wait to return. I would highly recommend. - Sharita B
Banana Leaf Thai and Sushi in Midtown delivers authentic Thai cuisine. Highlights include flavorful chicken satay, crispy vegetable spring rolls, rich Panang curry, and perfectly spiced drunken noodles. The larb gai is also recommended. Don't miss the smoked old fashioned and classic Thai iced tea. Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere make Banana Leaf a top choice for Thai food in Atlanta.
This was my favorite restaurant in Iowa. We can eat tasty food here. We ordered the appetizers fried calamari and fried egg rolls, both were hot and crunchy. And Pad Thai was tasted good. Kids loved the food. I got my favorite hot pot soup here and its taste was so delicious 😋. The outside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with plants so it was nice to sit there and eat. Sitting outside with the family is pleasure. The waiter was very kind and treated us well. We have decided to come here often.
Another great restaurant that serves Thai cuisine. Delicious food with great ambiance but at a higher price point. Their serving size is average, but it's a bit towards the expensive side. The presentation of dishes is amazing. We ordered PadThai, Basil Thai fried rice, angry fish, green curry with shrimp, Spricy shrimps with vegetables, shrimp tempura sushi, and spring rolls. It is important to note that if you make a reservation, they will ask for a credit card and will charge $30 for a no-show. This was something new and have never experienced before. We went there on a Friday evening without reservation but they were able to accommodate our party of 8.
4 of us came here for lunch on Saturday, pretty hungry since we didn’t eat breakfast & just walked an art & craft festival. This place did not disappoint. In fact it was a hit. Ordered the Nam Tok beef & roti with flatbread as appetizers. The Nam Tok was 1 of the best I’ve had, great portion. The green curry dipping sauce had great flavors. But not enough roti bread - 1 piece cut into 4 was not adequate. We ordered 4 lunch entrees, 2 were curries, 1 noodle, 1 stir fried. All 4 were overfilled with intense flavors, just like authentic Thai food. 2 thumbs up for sure!
Excellent food and amazing service. We came here on Saturday afternoon for lunch and really enjoyed our meal. It hit the spot. We got soups and calamari as the appetiser. Both were okay, but the mains were outstanding. I definitely recommend the spicy noodles. Phir Keing which was flavourful and just right. We ordered medium spicy and it was a lot… so watch out for those levels. The quantity was also just right. We finished everything we ordered, which was brilliant. Also got desert which was a fried cheesecake and I would not recommend it. Too much stawberry sause and it was cold from inside.
The coconut soup was delicious without being too salty and had a nice hint of citrus. Green curry was so decadent!
The food is delicious. I had the basil fried rice with chicken and it has lots of flavors. Cabbage, carrots, onions, egg, basil and rice. It’s very tasty. The service was good and fast.
Excellent food. Calamari was perfect. The summer rolls were fresh and refreshing. The spicy garlic eggplant and the green curry with tofu was just the right size for the two of us and tasty and spicy at the same time. Topped off with a delicious Thai tea and one of the best deserts anywhere with the mango sticky rice. Sandy Springs has excellent Thai food now. I highly recommend and we will be back.
I came for halloween decor during dinner, but the food left me speechless and full! Defintely coming back to try more items from their vast menu items! Vegan friendly, I had the thai chilling tofu.
One of the best Thai restaurants that Ive ever been to and highly recommend their Duck Thai Curry. Amazing dish, no cap! They deserve a Michelin star or at least got recommended! Satay chicken skewers were great and tasty with the 2 dipping sauces. Great portion for the price and a nice place to gather for food & cocktails.
I would highly recommend this place. It is a cute casual place and I frequently visit them. The staff is very friendly, never had any issues with the service. They have great selection of vegan/vegetarian options. I have had a group of 8 people visit this place with different dietary preferences and they took great care of everyone.
This is my new favorite Thai restaurant! They have the best Tom Kha (coconut soup) and the best garlic shrimp! Great food and great service!
This is one the more lovely places to have awesome thai food. We really enjoyed the ambience as well the amazing service. A must go! @BananaLeafATL @EatBananaLeafATL #RestaurantsinSandySpringsGA #AtlantaEats #buzzybooth
The food was awesome..The server helped us to modify the spice level based on our need for family with kids..place is quite small other than everything was great.. I would definitely recommend this place..we really enjoyed the cozy space. food and ambiance.
Love this place we come every week. Very family friendly. The decoration is so fun and the food is always fresh. Lovely service and quick if you need it to he @BananaLeafATL @EatBananaLeafATL #RestaurantsinSandySpringsGA #AtlantaEats #buzzybooth
This was the best Thai food and they offered incredible service. Our waitress was friendly and excited to seat us during our date night. The restaurant is beautifully and elegantly decorated with an aesthetic that feels warm and tropical. I ordered the Outer Rim cocktail and it was so delicious and refreshing (get a tajin rim!). We also had the Tom Kha, Pad Thai Noodle with Shrimp, Ember Smoked Duck, and the Emerald Cloud mocktail. Everything was exquisite and reminded me of beachside restaurants in Koh Tao. The vegetables in all the dishes were so fresh, the duck was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp was succulent. Book now!
I had a great meal at Banana Leaf! I am from CT and my friend recommended we go there and I wasn't disappointed! The Thai chicken noodle meal was fantastic! Lots of flavor and so tasty! I will be back when I am visit Georgia again! The service was great too- they were very attentive. @BananaLeafATL @EatBananaLeafATL #RestaurantsinSandySpringsGA #AtlantaEats #buzzybooth
Ok first of Thai is my favvv cuisine so I had to try this spot. I came in randomly on a Thursday evening. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by all three employees present and was seated outside per my request. My waitress was so sweet! I absolutely LOVE the ambiance here. I tried Smokey drink (forgot the name) and it was PERFECT. The super crunchy sushi rolls were TOP TIERRR. Bonus points for making the salmon well done per my request as well. Me and bae are for sure coming here for a date night. The atmosphere is so cute! Thankyou to my waitress and the other sweet employees!!! Good customer service is rare to come by these days so THANKYOU!
Som tam pla rah (papaya salad in North Eastern style) ,this menu is very different from Som tam Thai so please check with the waiter before ordering , Nam tok (spicy beef salad), Chao praya blush and Snapper zapp were my orders. Everything was delicious!!! Blue lagoon drinks were also excellent. My new favorite Thai restaurant 💚🙏🏽
The food definitely served 100% edible and delicious. Delicious!! We love their Duck curry so much. The cocktails were great as well and not diluted. Highly recommend and definitely come back with friends & family.
This place was bustling with action and the music was festive. We were able to get in without a reservation which was great. We were seated right away out on the patio. Everything tasted fantastic. The service did seem very slow but everyone was nice and polite. This is the type of place where you just come and relax. You take your time enjoying the food & company. I had a tofu veggie plate which was very delicious that came with rice. The Thai iced milk tea is great too. If you are a spice lover, this place is for you.
Great Thai food that has fresh ingredients and is hot. Food was so delectable that I did not get a chance to take a picture of the main dishes. They also have a good cocktail list, I enjoyed their mojito.
I had the eggplant with vegan duck. It tasted good and was well seasoned. The portion size was small though. Service was very good. There are a number of vegan options on the menu which is great and I’ll be back.
My wife and I came here for dinner tonight and overall it was okay. We had the Thai dumplings and Gyoza dumplings to start and both were really good and packed full of flavor. For main course, we spilt the chicken pad Thai and yellow dragon sushi roll. The pad Thai was good but certainly not the best I’ve had. Unfortunately the sushi was not very good at all, it was not fresh and the roll itself was incredibly small. Also, they brought an empty ramekin with the sushi, but nothing to put in it. There was no soy sauce on the table. I’ve had better sushi at Whole Foods to be honest. The service and atmosphere were great and made up for the few negatives. I would consider coming back again, but definitely not for sushi.
Okay - let me begin by saying this was my first visit. The decor for Halloween was fun and spooky. It looks really neat inside. Bathrooms and dining areas are impeccably clean. I tried three different dishes. All 3 were easily amongst the best Thai cuisine I’ve ever tasted. They have a seriously talented chef / prep team here. Tom yum and tom kha soups - again, some of the tastiest I’ve had. I’d recommend the food 10/10. The only thing I was thoroughly displeased with was the “up charges”. I am picky. Waiters probably despise taking my orders. But hey, I didn’t choose my taste buds. With that said they modified my meal perfectly as requested. Which is fairly uncommon. So I really appreciated that. And the waiter notified me that replacing the “standard” veggies with potatoes and carrots would induce an up-charge. (Digressing here I really think it’s silly that if I swap vegetables for other on-hand ingredients there is an up-charge at all. It isn’t like these are pre-prepared dishes that they have to go to all this trouble to modify for my picky butt. It’s literally chopping up potatoes instead of onions and tossing them in the pan) But regardless of that digressing opine the amount - $4 to add potatoes. $4 to add carrots… I literally paid an appetizer price tag for potatoes and carrots The waiter did not go so far as to tell me how much the up charge was at the time, and perhaps that is on me. But nonetheless, I was shocked. Most places charge me like $.50 or a dollar. For both to be swapped out So if you aren’t picky, and you love Thai food, this should be your new absolute go to hotspot
Very cool atmosphere, sushi was great! We split masiman chicken and got it with medium heat but it was too hot for both of us! And I love spicy food! Still a great place
My goddaughter and I visited this place on a Friday evening and we were not disappointed. The food, service, and my smoked old fashion, were great. I highly recommend and will go back when I’m in the area.
Stopped by for a few bites after shopping. Food was good, small portions for the price. We've had better, especially I can cook them at home, but nice to eat out sometimes. Plates presentations were pretty though.
Great food, amazing ambiance, and quick service. Will recommend booking a table in advance on Saturday as this place is a bit busy. Also, I will recommend having spicy tofu stir fry in the vegan section. It's delicious.
This was another restaurant I tried at a fairly recent food festival and liked what they had. Figured I'd stop by and give them a try in person. Beautiful interior and atmosphere in this restaurant. Digging the flowery vibe it's giving off. Location is nice, right in a plaza with Kroger and other locations and free parking on a paved lot. As for the restaurant itself, we enjoyed everything we had. Thai Wings for appetizers was good. Sweet and tangy flavor to it if you're into that. Cucumber Lemonade frozen cocktail also absolutely banging. Thai Iced Tea on point. 2 bowls of curry (Panang and Massaman) both good but not the best I've had. Be careful on spice if you can't take the heat as even the mild has a lil kick to it. Didn't get any dessert this visit as I didn't see anything I thought I'd like. All in all, it pretty decent food, drinks were the highlight though. Quick side addition. They also provide hand sanitizer right on the tables in the restaurant. Nice little touch that I don't see many other restaurants do. My only real complaint was our server. She was nice but not attentive enough. Took longer than necessary to get our order in. Once we got our food and drinks, she didn't come check on the table again for quite some time. Seemed to be much more interested in having conversation with her co-workers. That's cool and all but don't forget that you're working as well. It would be a much better visit for guests if their server was more attentive to them. Maybe try to be a bit more regular with that and this could be a pretty top tier Thai restaurant. Might be back to try more of the menu but may get it to go so I don't lose too much time. Give these folks a try if Thai food is your thing though!
Good food and good service. I did wish they had more food options for people who don’t eat beef or pork and didn’t charge $3 for a side of cashews. However, the GIngerine I had was soooo tasty! Definitely ordering that again.
OK so a mixed review. I don’t eat fried food because it’s so unhealthy but that doesn’t mean you don’t. So if you eat fried food try the Fish with Three Flavors with the sauce on the side and you’ll be in heaven. When I saw the description saying “crispy” I thought it might be grilled or broiled but I could have asked. But the promise of three flavors was in fact three flavors mixed into one sauce and thus only one sort of sweet and sour sauce. Another reason for only 3 stars is that the salmon dish had the exact same sauce and was not as flavorful or the salmon at La Madeleine for half the price.
Dear manager, What a regret to post this type of review online. I am so disappointed in one of your workers at the restaurant (banana leaf) in sandy springs. His name is Yiw, me and my sister came to have lunch today, and he served us, and we gave him tip for 10$, and on our way out, I asked him a plastic bag to put my food , and he came with such an attitude, so disrespectful, and I asked him what’s wrong and he told me that the tip I gave him wasn’t enough. Not only, he was being rude to us, screaming right on my face, and out his lung in front of a bunch of customers. I always come here to eat, and never encountered a shameful attitude. I am so disappointed in the kind of person you hire at your restaurant cause he is definitely not a good asset for your restaurant. What people should know, is that tip is optional and not by obligation. We gave what we had, and he should have been thankful for what he received cause all fingers are not equal. Some people might give more and some less. I will let everyone know about Yiw, who has a request on the amount of tip that people should give him. It’s so sad.
After reading numerous glowing reviews on Google, I eagerly anticipated dining at this Thai restaurant. However, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite a prompt greeting upon arrival, I waited 10 minutes before receiving assistance from the female server, even though only two occupied tables. Although my order arrived promptly, the server failed to check on my satisfaction. While enjoying my meal, I noticed her swift attention to other arriving customers. Furthermore, my Pad Thai tasted mediocre, with the noodles clumped together. Overall, I've had better experiences elsewhere within the neighborhood.
I tried this place for the first time and asked the waitress for help narrowing down which sushi roll to order, as the descriptions on the menu were vague. She suggested one roll but let me know it was fried and I told her I really don’t like fried sushi, so I found another roll, asked if it was fried, she said no, so I ordered it. For reference it said: ‘Crispy tempura flakes rolled inside topped with imitation crab, avocado…’ Unfortunately when it arrived, the entire outside of the roll was crispy and fried, not just a few sprinkled flakes on top for crunch. Now, I’m horrified to send food back, I hate it and I don’t do unless it’s actually so bad. So I was really disappointed and told her but she said it wasn’t deep fried, but ‘freks’?? I thought she meant fresh, as in not cooked?? She said I could order a different sushi roll but I would be charged for both, there was no way they would switch it out despite me clearly saying I didn’t want a fried or cooked roll. I’ve never been anywhere that would see the misunderstanding and still refuse to make it right. Their Thai food might be better but both sushi rolls I got were average at best and the customer service was awful!
Stay away. We were the only customer at noon on Friday. That itself should have been a warning sign. Dark dingy atmosphere. Service staff was not friendly. And food was bad. We ordered spicy vegan sushi - would rate it mediocre, not worth $14 at all; chilli tofu - that was ok; and masaman curry with tofu, that was the worst, looked yucky brown curry. Even when we told the staff that the curry was not good, he was unfazed, and considering we were the only customer inside the restaurant definitely expected better.
Was getting ready to book on OpenTable until I saw all the restaurants terms and conditions for customers. Payment restricts. Transaction limits. Dining time restrictions. Gratuity restrictions. Seating restrictions. WE ARE THE PATRONS. This business caters to its customers not the other way around. I will not be eating at this restaurant any time soon. You all are too desperate to eat out if you put up with these types of standards from Atlanta restaurants. No way! REPLY TO RESPONSE: your policies are not for guests. They are for the restaurant to ensure that tables turn overly quickly, gratuity is forced no matter the level of service (gratuity is a courtesy not expectation) and time is saved and quality is lost at the customers expense. Hard pass on arrogant and ridiculous business owners and practices and blatant LIES. You lost a potential customer--a key in business longevity and success.
