The pizza was phenomenal! We had the July Special which was a marinated steak tips and mushroom white pizza with balsamic glaze, and the house white pizza. Our kids had the cheese and pepperoni kids pizzas ($5). Not only was the price of their pizza super affordable but the kids pizza was as good as the adults. The crust was crispy and delicious. I’m excited to go back and try the gluten free cauli crust next time. The crispy brussels app was wonderful and the citrus sauce on top was just the perfect touch. Our server was phenomenal, she brought out silverware, napkins, and small plates without us having to ask, took the kids orders with the appetizer order, and was super friendly and attentive. The drinks were perfectly poured, pretty, and delicious. The atmosphere was super cool and we loved the patio, minus the flies. They need some of those table fly fans. We will definitely be back and bring our friends.
My daughter and i accidentally found camps kitchen when we decided to get off of highway cause of traffic backed up. I am so glad we did. We got the blackened shrimp for the appetizer and they were delicious. I got a side ceasar salad which was amazing. Great dressing and crispy lettuce. For our dinners i got the fish and chips and my daughter got the carnivore wood fired pizza. We of course tried each others food and we both loved the pizza and the fish and chips. The fish was breaded perfectly and just fell apart. The tartar sauce was a special yummy goodness sauce. And the coleslaw was great too. Her pizza was amazing too. And perfect size.
Fresh food, great service, and a perfect vibe by the fountain. Music, good energy, and even the kids had fun!
Camps is such a great spot for ambiance, drinks and food! I’ve been here twice now and both times were pleasant and enjoyable and the food and drinks were both delicious. Last time we had the goat cheese pizza and this time the mahi mahi. Both very tasty. The only suggestion I have for this place is to maybe stay open a bit later. Love the fireplace inside.
Great local feel with delicious menu. Great staff that is very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. They've recently added higher dividers between booths to provide more privacy & separate others around you.
I really have enjoyed my last few times coming to Camps. This visit it was my daughter and I and we sat indoors at a booth. The service was excellent! My daughter and I both had pizza. She had the cheese pizza and I had the spring break cauliflower crust pizza. Both were excellent! My visit before that was about 3 weeks prior for a girls night out. We sat on the patio which I love doing when the weather permits. We had a blast and enjoyed cocktails and all sorts of different items off the menu. I highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer! I will definitely be coming back frequently.
The food is amazing and the place is warm and inviting. Patio was lovely and the service was great. I'll definitely be back.
It was a bit chilly but we are having an usually cold year. Food was delicious ans the service was great.
Atmosphere is wonderful. Matt and Ted are great behind the bar. Perfect place to dine and drink.
Used to come to this location in the 90's when it was Houck's. Atmosphere: Nice redesign and use of the space. Upscale, but comfortable. Great use of stone and wood. Menu: Something for everyone's taste. Great quite bar space with bar and table seating in the front with a good selection of wine and scotch. Family friendly atmosphere.
Great place for date night or with kiddos! Went with our 2 yo. Service great! Lots of room for him to run around, look at geese on the pond, etc, while we enjoyed our meal.
Consistently great food. A little loud the last time we visited because of where we sat under the canoe, but still a great time!
Great first time experience. We had the pretzel to start. My husband had the chicken parm and I had the chicken club. Food was great, service was very good.
Felt like finding a secret. Great food but not very busy when we ate at lunch. Great for business meetings.
Our family of 5 with 3 young boys greatly enjoyed our dinner here. Service from Sydney was prompt and she was attentive to us and the boys enjoyed meeting the general manager who was sweet to stop by. It’s a great place to go with kids, but also could be a great local stop for couples. Food was “delicious” as my 3 year old exclaimed about his pizza.
We had a great dinner celebrating our son's graduation. The pizza and fish and chips were excellent! The staff was very friendly and did a great job accommodating us.
I freaking love this place! The food and the service is amazing! What more can you ask for. The manager James is such sweetheart and always recommends the best items on the menu.I order online or dine in person and the food is always hot and flavorful. You won’t be disappointed!
We had an amazing experience at the Chefs table at Camps! Everything was thoughtfully prepared and the staff was so friendly and hospitable. We had four courses each paired with a wine tasting. Wesley and Neika did a great job and made sure we were taken care of, even to the point of giving us a bottle of our favorite champagne on the way out. We will definitely come back to experience Camps and the delicious food again!
I really enjoyed my first visit at Camps Kitchen and Bar. I sat at the bar, because I was on my own. My pizza was delicious, and Matt the bartender made me very welcome. I will definitely be back soon and may become a regular at Camps! UPDATE 8/2024: I am a Camps regular customer now. I’ve made several new friends among my fellow Camps regulars and enjoy dining and watching sports with the gang. Love their always updated menu and specials. Check it out!
My family and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting James the new manager. He is Awesome! Very nice and made sure all of our questions and needs were met with A1 customer service. My daughter is graduating and we had been trying restaurants all week to pick the best one for her dinner and they did not disappoint. Not only was the chef wonderful but our waitress was so great and was very helpful with recommending tasty food options. Needless to say we found our restaurant not only for her graduation dinner but for all of celebrations. They deserve 10 ⭐️
I love this place and go regularly. The staff are wonderful, the food and cocktails are excellent. Highly recommend. Lots of parking available.
Camps Kitchen Bar is a great place with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. We split the Beam Me Up Scotty pizza, which was amazing, and also enjoyed the fettuccine Alfredo with added mushrooms—both were fantastic. The Caesar salad was a perfect side and I’d recommend it all. We were lucky to have Claire as our server—she was friendly and attentive, with a warm personality and proactive service that really enhanced our experience. Cheers!
Camps is a wonderful place for a quick drink and app or a family meal any night of the week. The food is delicious. The service is top notch and if you sit at the bar, Matt and Ted will take care of you quickly and remember your order the next time.
Great food w extremely attentive service. Pizza and other consistent entree offerings are excellent, and the specials and occasional menu tweaks keep it fresh. Good value for money. Our waitress was outstanding and very pleasant. Drinks great too. Way they treat kids is especially good- menus and good food. Competent managers are around ensuring the place runs like it should- unfortunately seems less common in other places since pandemic.
Our prompt seating upon arrival, despite being ahead of our reservation time, set a positive tone for our visit. Our attentive and charming server, Tina, took great care of us during our meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were intrigued after glancing over the pond when we drove by and seeing the deck filled with patrons. As it turned out, it was a fantastic decision to visit, especially given its close proximity to our home. James, the General Manager, stopped by our table to deliver exceptional hospitality and generously treated us to a delightful complimentary appetizer. Our visit was truly unforgettable and we're looking forward to revisiting and soaking in the scenic beauty of the patio.
Food was good & the vibes were better… had an amazing experience with Isabella (dark curly hair sweet girl). I had a billion questions over the menu, drinks, & she was able to not only answer my questions, but gave me solid recommendations every time! I came for the pizza but ended up leaving trying the pasta- which the left overs reheated great as well. Will be going back once the weather warms up more so I can enjoy the outside patio VS inside.
Even though the restaurant was busy, the atmosphere was calm and quiet, and we could easily talk with each other and hear our server clearly. The vibe was polished without feeling stuffy; jeans and a t-shirt might feel a bit casual for inside, but the patio has a gorgeous view and a more relaxed feel. We ordered the Village Burger, Margherita pizza, parmesan fries, calamari, and a salad, and everything was delicious and cooked perfectly.
We absolutely love this place. Service was really good. Our sever Nik took great care of us. Pizza, fish, and chips, and burgers were all goods. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.
Pretty solid offering (finally) in this space in East Cobb. The restaurant is very family friendly, and the wait staff is pretty attentive. The only reason I give this restaurant 4 stars is because a couple items I have ordered were surprisingly bland. For instance, I really wanted to like their fried chicken sandwhich - all of the different ingredients should have made this sandwich extremely flavorful, but it didn't have much flavor - it was just there. But onto the positive - other menu items I have tried are very good. I recommend the burger, the meatball appetizer, fries, margarita pizza (lots of good, garlicky flavor), and the street tacos appetizer. I thoroughly enjoy the street tacos and highly recommend them (see picture) - loaded with flavor and good to share, or as a lunch. And there are a good handful of items I still want to try. I hope this place makes it - they've got my business.
Didn't expect much, but surprise with good choices: Little mini steak tacos. Linguine Alfredo and Build your own Pizza. Well done!
I enjoyed my experience here. The service was great and the drinks were fun. I loved the giant pretzel app, but given the size and that it's meant to be shared there wasn't enough sauce for all of it. Will go again! The pizza was good and my friend enjoyed her prime rib sandwich. I want to try the fish and chips next!
From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Camp's is always very consistent. For some reason, though, when we order from them via Doordash it becomes a train wreck. Three times we have ordered and the food never showed up. They continue to get taken by scammed, which is frustrating and makes us not want to order from them.
My 10 year old and I dined in yesterday evening and I’m unsure if it was a fluke or if they’re always as unorganized as they were last night. I didn’t get the appetizer I ordered, the side of ranch I asked for, nor my second beer and had to request them to be taken off my bill. Food took a very long time to come out and the tacos for Taco Tuesday are about the size of the palm of my hand. Shrimp taco was very good, steak taco was average, and the chicken taco was not good. Our server was very nice and apologetic, so zero complaints there, but given the other options in the area I doubt I would return.
Camps got rid of the wood fired pizza oven! The results are unfortunate. So sad they lost the only feature that made the food more than ordinary bar food. We hate that you took out the great old school pizza oven!!!
We like to walk to Camps with the family and sit outside with our dog. That part was great as always! Unfortunately food this time was really not good for us. In the servers defense, she did ask if I wanted everything on the chicken club when I ordered it, and I said yes. The sandwich was so incredibly greasy I couldn’t eat it. Bacon was so fatty and oily, way too much mayo and then super greasy bruschetta. My husband agreed it did not look good and he did not want to try any of it. His red salmon/fish was also really greasy…we agreed to take a break from Camps for awhile….it was pretty disappointing this time. Also, be careful of their outdoor plastic chairs. Saw an old man try out three different chairs that cracked when he sat down. Server commented that she knew lots of them were broken!
We go to Camps all the time for an easy, delicious, reliable dinner. However, our recent experience there a few weeks ago was less than satisfactory. First, our waitress did not come to our table for at least 20 minutes despite us being there before the rush. She brought me the wrong wine and rarely checked on us. Now with the food. I don’t know if Camps has gotten a new chef or what… but the food has gone downhill. My husband ordered the Reuben that came with burnt bread, virtually no meat, and no more than 10 fries, which were actually “pub fries” for an extra charge and had no flare to them. I took a chance and ordered the steak frites because I saw they were new on the menu and wanted to try. I wish I got a photo of it, because they were essentially 5 well-done small beef tips (I asked for medium rare) with a side of no more than 10 fries (for $22). I guess I should have thought twice about the low ish price tag. I never send food back but I did that time. I got a pizza instead, which was good as usual but it was disappointing to have to send food back. I will say the drinks and calamari were great. I’m willing to give Camps another chance but hoping their new chef or food program gets it together.
I’ve been a customer of Camps for a while and have always had great experiences, but unfortunately, during my visit last Friday evening, the service fell short of expectations. We were seated outside and, while our server was polite, the service itself was very disappointing. We were not given silverware or sharing plates and I had to go inside to request them. Our server never checked on us during the meal, and when we were ready to leave, it took so long to receive the check that I again had to go inside to ask for it. This experience made us feel quite uncomfortable, which is surprising given the consistently positive visits we’ve had in the past. I wanted to share this feedback so it can be addressed, as we do enjoy Camps and would like to continue coming back.
Review for takeout only. Small margarita pizza with basic unimpressive ingredients was $20.00. I know inflation is bad but this is just unbelievable. Atmosphere seemed nice though if you were to sit down.
Save for the service, Camps would be a total failure. Our server was exceptional. She made the experience with her friendly smile and demeanor. The skid hit the road with the food. I had a bad feeling in my stomach for hours afterward. The quality is just not there. My chicken 🐔 parmesan was Meh. No real flavor, almost as if it was frozen and warmed. The side pasta was what you ate in a high school cafeteria. Definitely can not recommend this item. The tagliatelle was OK but had too much ricotta. The cheese overpowered the sauce. Rich to the point of leaving you feeling queasy. As a first-timer, I am a last timer. I had high hopes.
This restaurant left a lot to be desired. The food was uninspiring and lacked flavor. The pasta tasted like it was frozen from a bag at the grocery store. The chicken club was better but again was uninspiring. The inside of the place was cozy but had an identity crisis going on design wise. It has a farmhouse meets boathouse vibe and yet the booths and tables were modern and upscale feeling. The waiters wore t-shirts and jean shorts, so it didn't really match the vibe of the inside. Overall, I wouldn't spend the money to eat at this restaurant again. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Excited to go, disappointed almost immediately. Atmosphere is nonexistent, service pathetic but the Foodtruck tacos were actually swinging. My entree was less than appetizing with a limited drink selection. Convenient but meh. Try next door.
Pre-Mothers day dinner, party of six. Greeter was sweet and friendly, person seating not so much. Short on menus and when we asked to be seated at a different table as to move from another larger party, we were told no, they didn’t have a server to cover. Ordered appetizers, they never showed up. Dinner was ok at best. Our server was personable. Extremely loud atmosphere with serval larger parties, hard to have a conversation. We used to really enjoy Camps as it was conveniently located, exceptional food and great atmosphere. I suppose nothing lasts forever.
We like supporting our local East Cobb restaurants. We dine at Camp’s once every other month as part of our rotation and have been generally satisfied with the service and the rotating special menu. However, 11/14/23 my family and I came in at 6:50PM, were seated whereby we sat for 18 minutes with absolutely nobody taking a drink order or telling us that a server would be by soon. The restaurant manager was walking around clearly inattentive despite visiting the drinks station several times located right behind us without any eye contact. Another couple sat down at 7:08PM and immediately had their order taken (see photo) so we left and went to Moxie Burger because our child was hungry. Camp’s Restaurant management, please explain this one star experience for other potential patrons!
I have loved coming here a a few times over the last few years and for Mother’s Day all I wanted was a burger from here, they aren’t fantastic but much better for me than McDonald’s lol. Anyway since I live so far away I ordered online for a pickup, I ordered what I always do to accommodate for my severe allergies. I got there and my order had been wrong and I received something I was allergic to, no worries it happens more often than you think but Is always met with compassion. However, here I was given attitude from the ginger hostess and male manager about me wanted to have the order changed due to sed severe allergies they continue to take my meal, take off the ingredient I was allergic to and then hand it back to me, I asked if it was remade or just taken off and again attitude was given. I am confused at this point because I feel as tho I nice key expressed how important it was that I not eat this specific item to avoid an allergic reaction especially being pregnant I have to be more careful. Anyway I asked for it to be remade completely and the hostess didn’t even look at me or acknowledge me the rest of the time I was there and as she handed my new order to me. I am not one for bad reviews but I feel that this one is necessary. Please be cautious with those who have allergies it can be severe and a simple good attitude and making sure someone who paid for a meal is safe is a great way to run a restaurant
Stopped by 3 times over the past 2 months...First visit, was told I could not be seated becuase they were trying to organize the kitchen. Second time...I was seated and the service was terrible (ie, attitude) and food mediocre; the server acted as if she was doing me a favor. Third time...I walked in, no one greeted me or offered to seat me. I ended up at the other two restaurants in the center and enjoyed my meal, service, atmosphere. Won't be back to Camps...sub par to say the least.
Heard good thing about this place but not much good to say tonight. The Caesar Salad was partially frozen and uneditable. The bill credit that was freely offered did not appear on the bill. The Tagliatelle Bolognese was cheesy but ZERO meat and the red sauce was bland. pasta was cooked well. The Margarita Pizza was acceptable. Interestingly, no salt or pepper or red pepper flakes or Parmesan were on the table or offered. Although, the restaurant was mostly empty we were seated next to the kitchen and the serving station, no idea why. The staff were nice but oblivious to our needs. No need to return, many other establishments have better food and service.
Party of six went to Camps last night. We were told that it would be a 30 minute wait. They had no menus and finally told us we could seat in the bar. We waited and were informed that they could not serve us. They asked us to leave and had no reason to be so rude. We have been dining here for 15 years. The owners are nasty, rude, crass and will not see us again.
Camps is a place everyone wants to be great but it just isn’t by a long shot…it’s not even good. It’s a restaurant that has the benefit of a nice location and facility and nice patio to keep people coming in but the last 3 times I’ve been here the food takes over an hour to arrive, is warm at best and the food isn’t great on top of it. When it finally did arrive, everyone at our table got their dishes at different times over a span of 20 minutes. The wait staff isn’t the problem it’s kitchen management and understaffing and it’s been like this for years. We decided to try one last time but the experience is the same. Slow, mediocre food, staring at a table with empty drink glasses most of the time…if you think these are just rare coincidences you will have the same issues I promise. Would be great if someone took it over, changed the name, and did it right. We won’t be coming back as long as it’s called CAMPS….
For our first visit, we noticed families and children running around all over the place- we loved that! So- Our recent visit, we brought our 16 month old grandbaby, and her new parents, but for the hour of 6:30 to 7:30 we took turns walking her out side when she got fussy,(but when happy she even makes quick screechy noises in celebration) and luckily between that and some food in her belly, she was mostly fine. (Not for more than 10 seconds did we allow her to be present while making any noise) But, just as we waited for the check, the very young hostess came by and said “can you get her to quiet down, we have bar regulars who are complaining. Thank you.” This was completely unnecessary, and rude, given we weren’t at all ignoring these brief bursts by this child, not once did a manager come by and check on our table status, and at that exact moment, she was content with an Elmo video while we waited for our check. Before exiting I noticed the restaurant half empty (the patio was full and it wasn’t yet 8pm), and there were only 2 people sitting at the bar. So, I spoke with Will, the manager on the way out and he doubled down. “I’m the manager, and I sent her over there to tell you all that because I can hear her at expo and I have other customers.” I could go on and on but bottom line, there are ways to handle such circumstances and this was textbook WRONG. I do not recommend this restaurant, not at all.
The pizza is nothing like the pictures. According to management the recipe was changed a month ago. No more light and airy pillows. The cheese and sauce are different too. The Caesar was stone cold from the fridge. I asked for pepper, it came in a Shaker not a grinder. They've lost me.🙄
