⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sear Restaurant – A True Five-Star Experience Sear is nothing short of magnificent. From the moment I walked in, I was met with exceptional hospitality and top-tier professionalism. The service here is unlike any other — every member of the staff, from the waiter to the busboy to the chef, displayed genuine friendliness, respect, and pride in their work. This restaurant truly operates at a five-star level. The manager runs the team with precision, ensuring everything runs smoothly and every guest feels valued. The food itself was absolutely outstanding — without question, the best I’ve had in Atlanta, Georgia. Sears sets the gold standard for both service and quality. Every dollar spent here is worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Atlanta.
Really amazing food and super service. Our waiter was Sly and he did a great job. We ordered the short rib & French onion soup. The $27 price for an old fashioned made us choose iced tea, instead. Beautiful place, but the table behind us were VERY loud, very crude people who cursed and literally yelled to each other the whole time. I'm not a prude, by any means, but the management should not have allowed this. FYI, it's a loud restaurant/bar in the first place. We will probably not be back, even though the food and service were great.
During my visit to Atlanta I was able to have dinner with my Mommy for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious!! I will say this is the best food that I had on my entire trip. I had the jerk chicken, green beans and macaroni and cheese and babeeeee, when I say this food had me in a food coma and ready to pass out, just that gooooood. I definitely recommend coming to this place for dinner, lunch, brunch, whatever they serve. It's going to be great food!!!!
Came here for breakfast expecting a typical hotel breakfast. It was anything but! The omelette chef, DJ, was so friendly and engaging (the kind of employee every business wishes they had), there were so many choices from lox to grits to fruit to every hot dish. The atmosphere was beautiful. I would definitely highly recommend Sear!
I recently dined at Sear restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. From the moment I entered, the ambiance was inviting and elegant, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff members who were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. As for the food, it exceeded my expectations in every way. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing fresh and high-quality ingredients. The flavors were bold and nuanced, and the presentation was simply stunning. Whether it was the perfectly cooked steak or the flavorful seafood options, every bite was a delight to the senses. Overall, I would highly recommend Sear restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch culinary experience. The combination of impeccable service, exquisite food, and inviting ambiance makes it a standout dining destination.
Fantastic scene with exquisite food and beautiful interior! Sylvester was a wonderful waiter who did his best to please. Honestly, everything on the menu looked amazing, but the 1855 steak with onion and garlic was beyond delicious. If you've got some money to spend on a very fancy night out with your significant other, this is a great option! The only difficulty is in finding the place.
Very relaxed setting with great food and fantastic drinks! Sat at the bar and ate. Great selection of beverages with a fast and friendly bartender with helpful drink suggestions. Also had breakfast here the day before so had to add the eggs benedict and breakfast buffet were fabulous as well! The fruit was super fresh and delicious!
High quality restaurant that is perfect for those staying at the hotel. Steak was cooked to perfection and the sea bass was flavorful. The glass of wine was a tad pricey but nothing to complain about.
Well. We are in Atlanta at the America's Mart. This is a semi annual trip for business. In the last 15 years a few restaurants have emerged as outstanding. One of those is Sear in the downtown Marriott, where we are staying. We are able to order and share. Of course none of that matters if the taste isn't above average. The use of seasoning here absolutely takes this place to 5 star. Service from Andrew (?) was outstanding. The manager also came over to make sure things were right. Another perfect experience for me.
My wife and I visited Sear on the opening night of DragonCon this year and simply don't know how we could have had a better experience! I got the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked to perfection and very flavorful!! My wife got the gnocchi and loved it! They had a special chocolate cake just for the convention and it was phenomenal also. My wife did say it was a bit too sweet for her, but come on, it's chocolate cake... can it really be too sweet?! Our server (and another server who dropped by a few times to check on us, and the assistant manager, and the director of food services) could not have been nicer or more invested in making sure we had a great time! We also watched the chef up front checking dishes for proper presentation and he was a perfectionist (which I appreciate)! Easiest 5 stars I've given in a long time! They left me absolutely nothing to find fault with!
This restaurant was the best I’ve eaten at while in Atlanta. I ordered short ribs and it came with green beans and mashed potatoes. Green beans could’ve been better but ribs and potatoes were good. Wait….but let me mention I ordered a burger to go. Y’all that burger and fries was so darn good I went back the next day to order two more but they were closed 😩. Huge healthy burger too. When I go back to Atlanta I’m most definitely going there.
The restaurant in the hotel at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta is a wonderful place for dinner and the prices were reasonable. Our service was excellent (I guess that’s what you can expect in Georgia where everyone is so nice anyway). I really thought the portion size was great, big enough to share. my friends and I all ate here several nights because it was so good we decided to keep coming back instead of going to the other restaurants in the area!
Celebrated my moms birthday here! Wonderful experience, the food was great, the ambiance was comfortable and the staff were all very friendly! Will definitely be back!
I checked into the hotel around 4:45-5pm on a Friday night. Went back down to grab dinner at Sear around 6:45 thinking it was going to be packed, it was not. I was seated quickly and my server Carrie was excellent. I had the ribeye and mashed potatoes. The first one that came out was well done when I ordered it med rare. She quickly solved the problem and had another one made for me. I work in a restaurant so I understand these things happen. No one is perfect however it’s how the staff chooses to make it right is what separates other places. She asked if she could do anything else more me and I could tell it was sincere. That alone made up for everything.
First and foremost a huge thank you to Andrew for being respectful and helpful even though we were very low energy and wildly underdressed, at no point did I feel unwelcome while he helped us. Prices are on the higher end of median but absolutely worth it. Had the sandwich of the day and I had to resist scarfing it down whole. I would absolutely recommend this after a long day or if you're just getting in.
Great restaurant inside the marquis Marriott ate here every morning while I was in town for a 5 day convention and I have to say it is quality absolutely the best breakfast spread of any Marriott property I have been at full service kitchen buffet is fresh and hot delicious food and there is also an alacart menu as well!
Sear was so wonderful for lunch that we doubled up for dinner. Mostly because it was in our hotel, but the quality of ingredients, hospitality and service were impeccable! For lunch was Jumbo grilled shrimp 🦐 Caesar with the mini shrimp rolls and charcuterie for starters. The honey comb and blue cheese 😋 and the buns for the shrimp rolls were delicious and I believe homemade. Fresh dill made the rolls complete. The atmosphere pleasant for business or personal. Outlets are available at every booth for all I-charging needs. As for dinner, I sat at the bar to wait on my party to arrive. (They were working late) The bartender was great! He is Knowledgable, creative and billowing with a warm personality and endearing spirit. I ordered the cracked sea salt baked bread. Wow. Delicious. For the Maine course I ordered the Grass Fed Filet Mignon with diver sea scallops. Although they both had too much salt for my liking.. the preparation was carefully executed and delicious. The Mac and cheese left much to be desired, but the mashed potatoes and fingerlings were appetizing. Thank you chefs and staff at Sear, Atlanta.
Great food and service, had breakfast buffet 2 times , very good service, wanted to try for dinner but made the mistake of going to the Westin instead, should have gone here , restaurant is great but I do not recommend the hotel , staff is awesome, thank you!
Started DragonCon 2022 with late-night dinner at Sear. First of all, so glad you are back with dinner menu. Second, Latosha, the hostess, is fantastic!! Super friendly and very helpful! Sylvester was our waiter and he was also great! The bread basket and shrimp appetizer were very good and the carpet cake was delicious! Will beback Saturday for steak night!!
Sear restaurant located inside Marriott Marquis Atlanta. They serve nice buffet breakfast , lunch and dinner. Enjoy your food here.... 🍷🍷🍳🥓🥩
Employees were AMAZING and the level of sevice was beyond belief! Thank you for the great experience.
Sear continues to be a good stop on the DragonCon ride. The food is good, but it’s the service and atmosphere that really shine. Thanks again for the themed desserts and amazing bread basket!
Ate here twice. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with fresh honey from a honeycomb. Dinner was an excellent filet mignon with a nice Cabernet. Excellent and knowledgeable server.
Sear restaurant is a Gem in the midtown Atlanta area. Located inside the Marriot Marquis Hotel, the experience is phenomenal and the food is out of this world. Food-delicious! Chef Jon and Sous Chef Sean prepare all the dishes with passion and finesse. My husband and I favorites are the shrimp scampi, Salmon and the short ribs. Service-our experience was unforgettable thanks to Phyllis Jones, our server. She went above and beyond for make our dinning and breakfast experience amazing. For dinner the restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday; therefore, we experience other restaurants around Atlanta, but once we had dinner at Sear we did not leave the hotel for dinning. They are open daily for breakfast. We stayed six nights at the hotel and enjoyed the restaurant, atmosphere and service at sear very much.
Delicious food, especially the chia pudding at breakfast. Our experience was wonderful each day due to the wonderful service from Haile. His smiling face greeted us each morning.
Enjoyed breakfast there during our trip to America's mart. Our waiter, Jewel A. went above and beyond both days. Thank you for taking good care of us. Best broken yolk sandwich!
I had the Eggs Benedict, everything was hot and tasty. Staff was courteous and friendly. Menu items are a little pricey but I really enjoyed the experience.
Morgan and Sonia made a 5 day trip amazing last week while I stayed in the hotel for a convention. Every time I visited, they were fantastic and helped make it a wonderful time. I can't wait to be back next year!
Loved the ambiance in Sear, conveniently located in our hotel. For dinner, I had the shrimp scampi and a mocktail, both were really good. Our server was patient and delivered exceptional service. Everyone we interacted with during were kind and friendly.
SEAR Restaurant offers an absolutely phenomenal dining experience that truly stands out. The service provided by Soham and Jay was nothing short of exceptional, making us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for. Their breakfast buffet is a true delight, boasting a wonderful array of delicious food options. We especially appreciated the thoughtful inclusion of many choices for guests who do not eat pork. Vince, the Assistant Manager, was also incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. This attention to detail and outstanding hospitality makes SEAR a must-visit for any meal.
Sear, located inside the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, delivers a refined steakhouse experience that exceeds expectations. With its modern yet warm ambiance featuring exposed wood beams, dim lighting, and a stylish open-concept design, the restaurant sets the stage for a relaxing and upscale meal. The Pull-Apart Bread was a perfect start—soft, fluffy, and served with a sweet apple butter that made it downright addictive. The Butternut Squash Soup was a highlight, creamy and rich with a touch of blue cheese that added depth without overpowering the dish. The Gem Caesar Salad with Chicken as an entrée was fresh and well-executed, with crisp romaine, generous parmesan shavings, and a dressing hidden below that didn’t overpower the greens. For entrées, the menu offers a variety of grilled meats and Southern-inspired specialties. While we didn’t try everything, the steak options looked enticing, and the portion sizes were generous for a hotel chophouse. Service was friendly and attentive, with knowledgeable staff happy to offer recommendations. The pacing of the meal was spot-on—not rushed, but not too slow. Sear strikes a great balance between fine dining and approachable Southern-inspired cuisine. Whether you’re staying at the Marriott Marquis or just looking for a quality meal in downtown Atlanta, this spot is worth checking out. The cozy yet modern setting, attentive service, and well-executed dishes make it a strong choice for dinner. Would definitely return.
I got the fried chicken BLT with french fries. I enjoyed every bite, but others in my party didn't care for the french fries, so it's really up to your precerence. Service was great, even during Dragoncon weekend- everyone was really nice and accomodating!
Love this place. Beautiful hotel perfectly located in downtown Atlanta. The breakfast, is to die for. Every food option you can think of and all prepared to perfection. Service is amazing and the atmosphere is outstanding. The waffles, honey display, omelets, details in decor all perfect. # Bigdude approved 💪💪💪💪 #Bigdudereviews #atlantafood #atlantafoodie #atlantatravel Atlantabreakfast #atlantabrunch
Ate here on two occasions for their breakfast. The staff were very nice. The waffle was fantastic. The eggs Benedict were very lacking however, they were quite over cooked and the hollandaise couldve been better
We had the breakfast buffet for 4 days and never tired. Especially for the last 3 days when Nate was at the omelette station. He is friendly, fast, and a truly professional cook. The servers were also very friendly and engaged. We had dinner one night, and the cost was similar to a high end steak house. The side portions are not as generous as a high end steakhouse. My steak was tasty; however, it was too rare for my liking.
We were there last night and our server Phyllis was amazing. To be honest, her Southern hospitality and service was above and beyond. I dropped ketchup and she was so nice about it. We all had the steakhouse burgers and they were delectable. Moist, rich, and delicious with in house made buns. The truffle fries were delicious, and the salad with blue cheese that our server let me substitute was great once seasoned with salt & pepper. We started with the pulled apart bread (comes with apple jam and butter) that was the highlight of the entire meal. It could have been warmer, but truly you can’t go there and not have the bread.
A Standout Dining Experience at Sear – Thanks to Sonia and Team! I had a fantastic experience at Sear in Atlanta, and a big part of that was thanks to Sonia, our incredible server. She delivered top-notch service from the moment we sat down. When there was a small issue with my steak, she handled it with the kind of grace and professionalism you'd expect at a five-star restaurant. That alone made me want to come back. The management team and chef also stepped in to acknowledge the mistake and went above and beyond to ensure I felt like a valued guest. The steak itself was delicious—the temperature was off, but the flavor and quality were excellent. As an Ambassador Elite Marriott member, I really appreciate having such a solid dining option right on the property. It’s not just convenient—it’s good. And side note: their breakfast and brunch? Easily some of the best I’ve had at any Marriott, hands down. Looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!
Ate here for breakfast while at a work function. I did not get the buffet but a three egg omelette with hash browns and an English muffin. The waiter checked on us and took our orders right away. The order came out in good time and appeared freshly made. My Georgia omelette was good, it had fresh cooked greens and tomatoes. It was filling and I was glad I chose this. However, the hash browns were very greasy. The oil overpowered the potato. I only took two bites. The English muffin was toasted to almost burnt, but the middle was gooey and somehow reminded of something that was under cooked. I only ate half. The saving grace was the omelette. I enjoyed it enough to make up for not enjoying the hash browns and muffin.
Stopped by for a quick lunch. The ambience is good but the food is not that great. They do not have alcohol for lunch. I ordered chef’s catch Mahi Mahi and the fish tasted extra salty. They said it came with a wine sauce but I hardly could taste any sauce. The charcuterie board was slightly better but I fish they had more cheese options.
Nice experience to dinner at Sear, very good food presentation, nice atmosphere, good vine selection. A lot of time to leave the food on the desk, they have chance to better them.
Was there for a convention and brought a friend after our stellar service the previous year. I don't know WHAT happened this year because service was downright awful. Restaurant wasn't anywhere NEAR full or super busy. Our server told he we couldn't do cocktails so we ordered beer. Took 15 mins to get it to our table. So then we ordered food. Took 20+ mins to get it to our table. Then we didn't even get our check in time and had to grab the manager for the evening because our server was god knows where. Never came back. Never checked on us. We were leaving and Tina-Marie invited us into the bar in front and we told her what happened and she said "That ain't right". Get Tina-Marie instead of whatever pathetic excuse we had as our server. I get it's a convention and it's busy and the pared down menu. But absolutely no excuse for the service we got.
For $85 my steak and lobster topping should be to standard. Ordered medium my steak was well, lobster salty. The sauce was great and it would have been a great dish. The wait in between to be checked on was long. I would have e ordered a drink or 2 if I was checked on. By the time I wanted a drink and waited, I decided against.
It is one of the restaurants inside Marriott hotel. We made reservations although it wasn’t crowded on weekend. The staff were friendly and ambiance was fine too. The food was average though. They haven’t updated the menu on their website either. We went to have lamb chops but they didn’t have it: the menu was completely different. We won’t go back
For such an upscale Marriott, I expected the food to be much better here. The restaurant interior design is nice, however basically you're paying for that. The booth by the kitchen was too noisy and we asked to move to a different seat. This shouldn't bother the employees. The service should have been better for the class of restaurant Sear is trying to market, so I agree with other reviews that comment on service. The seafood was not bad but nothing special, certainly not up to par with similar priced Restaurants. The spinach salad I ordered had a description with 'pine nut brittle' topping which was never included in the salad. It was raw spinach, 3 slices of an orange, and some cheese. I've had better salads at quick lunch spots. Also, We had a few side items that we ordered that were never bought out; they were removed from the bill & we were given a free water bottle to-go as an apology. We were looking for a great place to have business meetings, but Sear disappointed aside from the atmosphere of the Marriott. It is low on the list for now.
Got the $60 fillet and was not impressed. Service was incredibly slow and after getting meal the steak was undercooked and green beans were raw. Unless you can't leave the hotel go somewhere else.
That was a terrible experience! We were seated immediately, but everything was downhill from there! It was obvious that we were given the edited and shortened menu (It didn't have the dishes we were hoping for, based upon the online menu). We sat at our table waiting for someone to simply offer us water for at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. The server was obviously busy, she circled around 3 times to let us know she would eventually get to us. When she finally arrived at our table, We ordered two appetizers. The server came back to our table to tell us that the appetizer she recommended wasn't available, so we settled on one appetizer. Ordered four main dishes; Hamburger (ordered well done, came out rare as rare). Fish was very dry, and vegetables on my short rib plate were cold. I know this sounds like I'm a complainer, but it really was that bad. We all ate our food because we were so tired of sitting there, and we weren't about to sit and wait even longer for them to take another stab at making food terribly. I honestly don't know how our dinner companion ate the burger; he literally had to go wash the blood off his hands after he finished. When the bill came, I expressed my dissatisfaction to the server. She was good enough to have the bill reduced by 20%, and offered us dessert. But given how terrible the meal was, none of us were interested in more disgusting food, so we declined. This is a stinging review, I know, but it was a bad experience.
Absolute worst experience one could have. I waited an hour to eat here after checking into the hotel. They weren't serving alcohol...? I ordered a steak medium rare and it was well done. Actually, it was more like shoe leather. The service was horrendous. Complete waste of money and time. I would have gotten a better meal at McDonalds. Do not come and waste your money. This place is trash!
I am in my 60's and our experience at SEAR was the worst of any up-scale restaurant in our lives (myself and my wife). While that may sound "anti-superlative" I assure you, it is not. The food was horrible. Two small ($40) crab cakes were bland. The salmon (named "iron" something or another - it isn't on the online menu today - price was about $45 IIRC) was unremarkable but tolerable. Sides were not included with the entree so I ordered "seasonal greens". This turned out to be a can of green peas in a bowl. Yes, seriously. We also ordered a starter (also not on today's menu) that sounded wonderful - a goat cheese and pimento fritter - that wasn't even warm. (If they had been heated up, they might have been ok.) But, the food was NOT the worst part. The young man that waited on us got multiple things wrong on our order and his English was so bad that we didn't even try to get him to straighten it out. (He left out a side dish, got the wrong drink, took forever to check on us, etc.) Then, he ended the nightmare by messing up our check, causing us to be delayed in leaving the restaurant by 20-30 minutes. On our last visit two years ago the food and service were both good, so this is a very bad look for the Marriott hotel in which SEAR is located.
2 hours to dine there. Drinks took a while, then salads took a while, then meals showed up 45 minutes later. $70 Steaks weren’t done to order. My pork chop was raw and had to send it back. Server took it off the bill. Poor experience and place was practically empty when we finished our meals.
Worst restaurant experience ever. The hostess was extremely rude and wouldn’t even make eye contact. When I tried to ask about the menu, she simply pointed toward the back and said, “check over there.” I wish I remembered her name, because this was such a poor representation of Sear Restaurant and the Marriott brand. The server was okay, but my food was undercooked — honestly, I would rather eat at Burger King than spend my money here. I was in town for a conference, so I had lunch there twice. The first day, my salad was not fresh, but the server was kind enough to replace it with fruit (she was great). Unfortunately, the next day everything from the hostess to the service to the food was awful. Very disappointing experience overall.
