Amazing breakfast buffet! The omelet girl( sorry didn't get her name or his) and guy were great! All the servers were very helpful!
I ordered room service for breakfast. The omelet was huge and delicious. Reheated well, too. The bacon and fruit were excellent. I would not recommend ordering toast, as it gets too cold and they do not butter it before delivery. We also ate there a second time, in person, and Sara was a wonderful server.
Unclear why this restaurant is only 3.9 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed it and probably ate too much. The collars greens were vinegary and delicious. The Mac and cheese was amazing. The ribs were tasty with a peppery rub. A little fatty and could have cooked a bit longer to help fall off the bone. Don't get me wrong, they weren't rare ribs, just not fall off the bone ribs. The server was so much fun and super sweet. She had all the customers around me in stitches! The desserts were fantastic! I had the German Chocolate, the coconut cake and some bread pudding. YUM!! I'll definitely be back here next time I'm staying at the Hyatt!!
While I seldom leave reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience due to the exceptional service at Sway. I enjoyed two meals during my hotel stay, and the food was quite good. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the outstanding hospitality and attitude of the staff, with Jose standing out as the best. He served my table during dinner, exceeding expectations. Jose was so attentive and did his best to accommodate everything I needed to fully enjoy my first dinner in Atlanta. Also the whole team from the entrance to the buffet station was so kind and professional. Is this southern hospitality? I am genuinely touched and thankful. I highly recommend this place!
After I checked in, the aroma of this place was very welcoming after my morning of travel. Josie welcomed me and suggested the chicken sandwich. Let me tell you I think that was the best fried chicken sandwich ever! Amazing! I cleaned my plate completely. The sweet potato tots were divine as well. It was after lunch, but before they closed at two on a Saturday. There were only a few tables eating and the service was outstanding. Another couple came at almost closing time and were welcomed to sit and order food to eat there. Welcoming hospitality is just what they do here. Check it out next time you are on the area.
I’m honestly confused by the negative reviews, our food was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been nicer!
Lovely grilled steak salad, large dinner portion. And pie bar is yummy. Tomato jam with the mini muffins and biscuits was so good had to bring some home. Half kale salad and cup corn chowder we're good as well. Breakfast buffet is good as well.
Bernard, our server, was excellent!! Personality is awesome, detail oriented, and very well spoken. He made our visit joyful, even helped us with group pics! Great time, great food, awesome server!
I have to give this restaurant a 5 star because I had a great experience. Antoinet was my server and she was fantastic! She was welcoming, knowledgeable and provided great suggestions. I ended ordering the fries chicken just because lots of reviews. She suggested to add honey and chilly sauce. It was delicious, moist, crunchy and good flavor. Then she suggested ginger cake pie... Oh man, she was right on that, light, gingery and not too sweet. Thanks to Antoinet I had a magnific experience.
I love the all-you-can-eat Pie Bar at Sway in the evenings, which has a rotating selection of Southern favorites, seasonal pies, plus cookies [see photos]. Tips: (1) You can choose the Pie Bar without dinner. Just tell your server. (2) The chocolate cookies come with free scoop of vanilla ice cream - again, ask your server.
What a tremendous restaurant! Best fried chicken in my life, collard greens were fastastic!! Staff are very very kind and professional. Kids menu was great too.
Fast seating. Fast service. Breakfast buffet looked fantastic but I ordered steak and eggs. Well-seasoned meat. Potatoes on the side were good but it was a huge portion!
The $18.00 omelet breakfast was very good, and it was filling. My boyfriend also likes his eggs and sausage plate It was good value for a hotel restaurant. Several people in our group ate lunch there and preferred it to area restaurants.
Staff was wonderful, food was amazing, definitely would recommend the vegetable tofu broth bowl and the table bread!
Really tasty buttermilk fried chicken and grilled steak salad, huge portion!
Soup is really good. I like a grits and shrimp. Also cabage.
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating — I mentioned my allergy to mushrooms, and they were more than happy to adjust the dish for me. They replaced the mushrooms in the pasta with vegetables, and it turned out absolutely delicious. Crab cake was so good! The service was top-notch, and everything we ordered was full of flavor. Highly recommend!
great spot! have come here now for 5 meals in a row. 3 dinners and 2 breakfasts (in town for a convention). the food is all fresh and delicious. amazing price for buffett and it includes a non-alcoholic drink as well. staff is super friendly friendly. dinner comes with steak and fish and breakfast comes with chicken sausage gravy, diy avocado toast bar, omlette bar with all egg whites if desired and lox. home-made berry compote and peach compote for the yogurt/cottage cheese bar. the buffet's cake desserts are ok. easy to find seating. all around great. fresh herbs in the salad dressings. the servers were not super fast to pick up our used plates (only small drawback) not sure why the reviews are low. it's a great spot!
Ordered delivery. Deviled eggs, Mac and cheese, and fried chicken were all great!
Had drinks twice, an evening snack once, and breakfast once during my stay. Both evening times, the staff was awesome! Breakfast staff just okay. Enjoyed the spinach and crab dip, just wished there were more veggies than 2 small carrot and celery sticks. Breakfast buffet, however, was amazing!
Omelettes were amazing, love the breakfast here!
What a fantastic treasure! Delicious food, quaint atmosphere, very accommodating for our large group. Bernard was our server and he was super friendly, very attentive and delightful! Seriously one of the best servers I've ever had! If you check out this restaurant, ask for Bernard! He won't disappoint!
Excellent food and service. We celebrated a birthday and felt very appreciated. The server Bernard was amazing and extremely friendly, very helpful with menu and quite descriptive on entree. Five star service. Couldn't ask for a more positive experience. Would highly recommend.
Lovely service and breakfast was quite alright, especially for a buffet
First, dusting my stay the servers were outstanding. The food was really good specially the pizza, but then the next day was ok. My third day was great. Love the place even though it gets crowded, but the staff will go out of their way to get you in. My guess is depending on the crow, the quality might vary. It’s a great place and I would def recommend it.
We had dinner here and really enjoyed it. My husband loved the salmon and veggies. I had shrimp and grits and it was giant. Definitely get the cheese added! My one complaint is they left the tails on my shrimp and I hate when places do that cause I had to dig through the grits to remove them. But the flavor was amazing and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Kiddo got chicken fingers and sweet potato tots. The chicken was delicious, juicy and good quality. She liked the tots. Our waiter was excellent and made our girl feel special with crayons and a coloring book. Would come back and recommend.
Dined here for breakfasts as it was the designated restaurant for globalists. The service was adequate and the atmosphere was nifty. Overall, a satisfying experience.
Stayed at the Hyatt and ate at this restaurant one night. The service was exceptional and they even found me some coffee (even though they don't have it on the menu) and got me a to-go cup too! I ordered the friend chicken and it was delightfully crispy and juicy. It has a slightly sweet taste but was delicious. Their mashed potatoes and gravy was solid too. I will definitely go back.
Sway is a very nice restaurant, and I've been a few times now. The food is good most of the time, but I think they made a couple of changes to their menu or maybe the chef is different. The pimento cheese was not as good as it was the first time, and there is a pasta on the menu that needs to be thrown away completely if that's how it's normally cooked. I have attached a picture below. Otherwise, the service is decent, the atmosphere is cool, and when the food is good it's great!
Great ambiance. The steak wasn't lean enough and cold. I asked if that's how it was suppose to be and the server said no. It wasn't great. Tomorrow I'll try the grits and shrimp.
We used to stay at this hotel and always got the breakfast buffet here, but we were too late this morning, so we went for lunch. I know this place is overpriced because they are in a hotel, but come on: $4 for an iced tea? My shrimp and grits were $26 and did not pass this Southern chef's muster. You can tell they cooked the grits in plain water. If they switched to half broth, half milk the taste would be dramatically improved. The 5 shrimp were well-cooked and flavorful, and the little sautéed peppers and onions and bacon added some much-needed character to the bland grits. Service was friendly and this seems to be a family-run operation, which is nice to see. The sweet tea was still warm when presented, which tells me it was fresh and also that they were unprepared for the flood of thirsty Southerners on this hot day. Hubby's $16 turkey sandwich was well-stacked and packed with flavor. Smoky bacon, tender turkey, fresh crisp lettuce and sliced tomato, with a tangy aioli and a nice slab of pepper Jack. My advice? If you want breakfast here, get up earlier and get the buffet, because the shrimp and grits is the closest you're gonna get after 11am.
First trip to Sway! I was so excited until my food came...it was COLD! It looked good tho!! So the nice waitress gave me something I did not need....Biscuits and cornbread muffins I fell in Love. The dessert bar will make hit the treadmill twice!
We had a pleasant meal. American fare. Good. Fried Green Tomatoes was prob our favorite. Enjoyed a ribeye and salad as well. Good iced tea. Dessert Pie Spread was kind of a joke. If you’re gonna offer all you can eat you should make sure you have pie to serve. What was left was too odd or exotic (rich) to eat. Server was good but did not seem excited to be there.
I wish I was more impressed with Sway, due to its great advertising across Hyatt’s platforms and location. We went for a corporate lunch and were greeted very nicely. I really enjoyed the staff and service, so please note that! The only downside was the salmon salad I ordered. The salmon was extremely salty, and while it was cooked well, I really couldn’t enjoy the salad. The greens and beets were nice but I’d advise against the salmon, unless it was a one-time mistake. I’m not able to revisit to give them another chance, so go with caution and look forward to the friendly service!
Way overpriced, on par with airports (but so is everything else here). The lunch buffet was thoroughly mediocre. Why did I get the buffet when I wanted the chicken sandwich on the menu? The waiter who brought my soda didn't explain how the establishment works and didn't ask if I wanted to order. I got tired of waiting for someone to take my order and went to the buffet. No need to come back.
So we went here and elected to take our food to go because our server was just horrible. 50 minutes later we are still waiting. I was gifted a drink so hey but 50 min is a long time. The good news is the steak was AMAZING. Great job!! The bad news is the chicken was burnt. Like black on the bottom that they tried to hide. We elected to not say anything because we just wanted to go back to our room. It was almost 10pm by this point. The pecan pear salad looked amazing but wasn’t. The pears were not tasting right.
The food looked really good up it was not hot. I had the breakfast buffet. It looked really appetizing but the grits, biscuits, chicken sausage and scrambled eggs were luke warm at best. The biscuits were hard and cold. $28 is too much to spend for cold food that is supposed to be hot.
I was here for dinner two weekends ago with a friend and I would not describe my experience here as very good. First, when we tried asking the host about how long it would take us to get a seat, he appeared a bit brusque and asked us to wait behind a group of six or seven folks who were also standing in the general area. It was unclear to us whether he had already spoken to the group or not and therefore we wanted to check with him but he shooed us off and came off as brusque in his conduct. Second, in terms of the quality of the food, while quite acceptable, it did not blow me away. I ordered the shrimp and grits and I have certainly had better before. My most recent experience of getting shrimp and grits was at Williamsburg, VA at a restaurant called Food for Thought and that’s one of the best restaurants I have come across in my life, so admittedly my standards for this dish were a bit high to begin with. But even if they weren't that high, I know I have had better shrimp and grits before. Apart from the fact that there wasn’t much depth in the flavors, there was also too much gravy for my tastes. My friend got a pear and walnut salad and while he did finish it, he did not appear too impressed with it either. Third, and perhaps what irked me the most, was the fact that our waters weren’t refilled as often as we would like. Towards the end of our meal, I got up and requested our waiter twice or thrice (!!!) to get us water but she was so engrossed in closing out the books that it took her a good 10-15 minutes before I could get a glass of water. (For context, this was around 9:30 and the restaurant closes at 10.) Finally, and this is a minor point, the floor around us seemed a little dirty in that there were more crumbs on the floor than we would expect at a place with airs about it such as Sway. If there was one saving grace, it was the fact that the dessert which I had – a slice of pecan pie – was “on the house”. All in all though, given that the food did not impress and the service was considerably worse than average, I would pass on this restaurant if I were in the area.
Flies in food.!! Very pleasant for a breakfast buffet. Food was warm and tasty for the most part. I got a scoop of diced peaches for my yogurt and sat down to eat. I made it through most of the plate, finally it's time for the yogurt, and there's a fly marinating in the peaches! I only scooped one scoop of peaches, and I got a fly. Think about all the others who didn't look because it's the Hyatt Atlanta, not a super 8 where you expect extra protein.
Service was good the first day and the food was good! We were staying in the presidential suite and asked if we could sub free breakfast tickets for a coffee instead on the second day as we missed the breakfast. The waitress Zorica got within half an inch from my face (way too close in any context and deeply confrontational) and she said “you expect a free breakfast or what.” She sounded deeply condescending and definitely not a way to treat any guest at all, esp not guests staying in the presidential 😀 Even if the request couldn’t have been made, she could have answered that a thousand other ways
Our table ordered salads at lunch time yesterday. Two of the spinach, arugula, and peach salads came out missing the pecans and with pears instead of peaches. Not a big deal, but the waiter should have mentioned this detail in case someone in the party didn’t like peaches. One of the salads was also disproportionally small compared to the others. Two people also added on the blackened tofu for $8/person. The tofu was definitely not even close to what I’d consider blackened, and the plates came with 5-6 small pieces. What a waste of money. Don’t be fooled. It looks nice from the outside and it’s conveniently located if you’re attending an event/conference, but you may end up disappointed.
I got the worse diarrhea and vomiting after lunchtime there. The food was delicious, but oh man, my stomach did not like it
Service was seriously slow. When I got my food 3 days later, I was ready to go so I ask for a to go box. It took 35 minutes for me to get my to go box. By this time my food is extremely cold. The server said he can reheat it under the warmer. He did, it was still cold . He forgot the gravy. … so now I am waiting another decade for gravy and my food get cold again. I spoke with the manager with glasses. She didn’t seem to really want to help… she offered me hot gravy to fix the problem. I stated to her my food has been sitting for an hour and is cold .. hot gravy is not the solution 🤦🏽♀️ at the end- I left hungry and wasted 2 hours of my life. I didn’t have to pay but it was a bad experience. My first and last time. To be Fair my waiter did have 12 tables he was running all by himself. But I was the second table to be sat before others came in 15 minutes later
All food drenched in butter. Served cold. Everything is over-salted. Do not recommend
Wow what a bad breakfast. I came in not long after opening because I like a quiet breakfast. I was led to essentially the furthest table from the buffet that also happened to be the only dirty table. I sat down asked for coffee flipping my coffee and water cup over. Coffee was filled and then server disappeared. Clearly about 80% of people or more drink coffee with cream but server is too busy on her phone and also never brings water. I end up going to the server stand and getting my own cream vessel and fill my glass up with water. Now ive taken 2 sips from my coffee and the server asks if I want a refill. I wave her off and go get food. Despite having several items that would have required butter to make there is no butter I could see to go with the French toast. I asked a worker and was told there wasn't any butter. Next thing I see is a bowl of honey butter near the pastries. Went to get a serving utensil for the honey butter since staff was too busy chit chatting to notice half the things didnt have serving utensils and go sit down. The server has already placed my bill of the table and asks again if I want more coffee. I look at my completely full cup and say no. Less than 2 minutes later she does it again. I end up just being frustrated with it and not being able to enjoy my meal I pay the bill with 0 tip and walk out not having eaten my breakfast. Also despite the same dragoncon convention running today that there was yesterday, today's dragoncon breakfast, was $5 more. Wish there was some kind of management that cared.
Made reservations and went downstairs from my room in hotel and restaurant is closed. Why does their system allow someone to make reservations when it’s closed.
Not a good experience and a waste of time. Was there for an hour and was by myself hoping for a quick bite. Service was insanely slow. Took 40+ minutes to get my food. Food was bland and I only took a couple bites. Was waiting and starving and very let down by the meal. Check came and still full price despite the insane wait and after me expressing the disappointment. Will not be back and would not recommend to anyone.
Food not good at all. Their Mac and cheese is possibly the worst dish I've ever been served anywhere in life. Basically hot noodles with room temperature unmelted cheese just sitting on top. Absolutely inedible. The ribs were boring and and not very flavorful. The greens were okay but basic, could have come from a can. $28 plus tax and tip in the trash.
I ordered the egg plant. It was cold with no flavor. The two side dishes were no better. I paid almost 80.00 for my mother and I. Complete waste of money and time. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. However, food wise this place needs some help.
If I could give zero stars I would. The restaurant allowed me to make reservations 3 weeks before my event. However, when I showed up last night, I had to find out from valet that the restaurant was closed. There was no prior communication of them being closed or needing to cancel my reservation. This would’ve been my first time at Sway, but this pitiful communication has confirmed that I will never be a patron of this restaurant. Thank you to the gracious valet who was willing to find out about my reservation while I waited outside with my party.
