Everything here is fantastic! Everything is homemade and delicious. The tacos are perfect, the chili Colorado was perfectly spicy, and wonderfully tender. The rice you can have alone for dinner, it's so good. The tortillas are the best I've had. Don't go anywhere else, come to Isabella's! Oh, and be sure to check out blue eyed Jesus on the ceiling!

We were there during the Sunday lunch rush so it was a little noisy but, the food and service was amazing. I will definitely go back. Our waitress was very attentive and on top of things while still being the same with all the other customers. The food was amazingly good and extremely hot when received at our table. The greeter at the door was very friendly as well. Great experience all around. No complaints for this place. They were packed full and still made you feel like you were the only people in the restaurant. Loved it!

My family and I dine here every chance we’re in town. The food is delicious and always consistent. I absolutely love the mouth watering bean dip and fresh salsa. My dear mom that recently passed, loved Isabella’s so much that she requested her reception/wake to be held here. Let me tell you, the buffet was outstanding with a fresh fruit display that look like a piece of art. Very reasonably priced for a large crowd and several different entrees were provided including a vegan option. Excellent communication from the manager and flawless service. I definitely recommend Isabella’s for large gatherings as well as a delicious drop in. I should mention the margaritas are out of this world, as my picture will show my beloved mother enjoying! It was great all around with one exception. The food was great with huge portions. The sevice was great, very nice waitress. The prices were great. The atmosphere was nice. The only problem was it was a bit hot in there. I don't know if they were having trouble with their air conditioner. This was my first time going there. I definitely will be back.

Absolutely AMAZING experience here. The entire restaurant, inside to out, is beautifully hand painted with several stunning murals. It’s incredible. The food is some of the best tasting Mexican food I’ve had in California, and it was super affordable for a family of 5. It was mine and my dad’s birthday today, so they put sombreros on us and sang!! They also brought us cake. Everything about our experience here was amazing and we would definitely make the drive from Turlock to Atwater again just to eat here.

There was 5 of us, took a couple of minutes to get seated but not a long wait. The menu had so much to choose from everything looked delicious. I got supreme nacho it was very yummy even though they were full with costumer the waitress was very good. And the price was really good for 5. The plate were huge

It's been a handful of years since I've been to Isabella's. Anytime I've tried to go back it was busy and/or closed. Even hard to get a word in about a possible togo on the phone. So last night we, my boyfriend and niece and I, decided to give it a go. For a Monday night at 6pm it was was nice and the restaurant wasn't too busy. We were seated immediately and our server was there to grab our drink order just a few minutes later. My niece ordered a steak burrito with a side of steak fries (not pictured) and looked amazing. My boyfriend ordered a carnitas plate filled with a ton of delicious carnitas rice, refried beans with some pico and pickled carrots. I had Pechuga a la Plancha with cheese and Salsa Verde. Which is grilled chicken smothered with Salsa Verde and cheese, accompanied with rice and beans. Both plates came with the choice of tortillas and we both chose the homemade corn tortillas. And may I just say everyone was scrumptious. All of the plates were to the rim with food and hot and ready. We washed it down with a couple of Pacifico beers and it all hit the spot for the end of our night. We'll be back again sooner than later!!

Loved the service! Our waitress was really friendly and professional. Kept checking on us and was polite. I ordered the super burrito but I do have a suggestion, to make the burrito waaaay better you guys should put onion cilantro tomato and aguacate to really make it worth it, and of course the price would be I but more but would definitely be worth it. THE SUPER BURRITO ONLY INCLUDES RICE AND BEANS AND THE MEAT WHICH IS GOOD BUT WITH THE STUFF I SUGGESTED WOULD BE MUCH MORE AUTHENTIC AND DELICIOUS! Thank you for the service

amazing molcajete! i got the full package all the meats and lady got cheese enchiladas, everything was great. love the atmosphere and decor, very authentic and traditional looking. salsa is spicy just how i like it and bean dip to go with chips was perfect! margaritas were good blended, on rocks too was too much syrup.

Hello everyone, just had lunch at Isabella's and it was good!! The service was on hit and there food was tasty! Mango Margaritas were on hit too! The only thing they didn't have which really isn't a biggy, was they did note have a jukebox for us to play some classic rock or our Tejano music! The music they had was indeed good, but I personally wanted something a lil different!! A real good experience there and we will be back!! God willing!!

Inside set-up and decor and nice. I also love the various paintings they have throughout the restaurant. I love this place. Has really good Mexican food, and good blended drinks. And I do like the atmosphere It's very comfortable. The waitresses are great however, when they get super busy they kind of misstables. Or sometimes they go to the kitchen and forget to come back to the table. Other than that this restaurant has everything you could possibly want on the menu. And delicious. This is a great restaurant with great food. From crispy tacos to soft tacos to enchiladas and sopas your shirt to find something you will love on the menu!!!

Meet a friend for late lunch here and it was pretty quiet. Fast service, our waitress to well care of us very polite. Food was good I ordered 2 enchiladas came with rice and beans. Would definitely recommend well portioned plates. The chips were stale but I just asked for a new batch. My friend ordered the bistec a la mexicana, was delicious I stole a few bite :)

This place has the feel of a small mexican plaza as you walk in. Every wall has something to see, such cool decor. Traditional mexican dishes with served with huge portions. Plenty of food options. Chile verde highly recommended. Molcajete dinner also a hit.

This is a very popular mexican restaurant in Atwater. They're closed on Tuesdays, but try any other day of the week. Go early, eat hearty!

The aesthetic of this place is absolutely beautiful. Paintings on the walls and ceiling makes eating here fun. They are also equipped with a bar. Unfortunately, when we went they were out of some more popular drinks but the food made up for it . Huge plate with plenty of food. I ordered a chicken enchilada with green sauce and it was delicious. It came with rice and beans which were also yummy. I would definitely recommend and I would come back .

Very surprised with this restaurant. The interior is well put together. The service was outstanding, gave great recommendations. The menu is HUGE. It is typically packed, but the food comes quickly. The plates are huge, so be prepared to take home left overs. The only issue was the meat were not seasoned, kind of bland. The sauce makes up for the missing taste. I don't recommend getting the quacamole, it did not have much flavor until you get to the onions and tomatoes. Overall, pretty great.

The food is delicious. However, there sometimes are not enough servers. I have visited more than once but on my last visit I was not properly seated and was told to go find a seat than I had to stop a busser and tell her that I had not been tended to for a drink or chips and salsa. Me and my party of 4 waited 40 minutes just to get a drink by the time food came it was an hour and half. The food is good though so I am hoping that moving foward there will be better service.

The service was great! They were kind and pretty fast. I don't recommend the taco salad, as it was bland and had no sauce. They gave us ranch but it really didn't go well. I think just adding guacamole, sour cream and cheese would elevate this dish. I would come here again though, I would just order something different.

I really enjoyed the food and it was a really fun time for my friends and I to celebrate my friend Keri's birthday pictured. It was very busy although I will admit restaurants had just opened since covid. The waitress was sweet but must be new, we had 7 people in our party and after she took each person's order she would say " Is that all" We were all looking at each other awkwardly and whispered to each other shouldn't she say, And what would you like?.. Anyhow she was very friendly but didn't fill up our waters or sodas and she didn't check in on us.. One of my friends didn't get her meal at all, we had to flag down another waitress to get straws and her food... But we have to remember it was busy, that's likely to happen in a big restaurant that is popular for their food. The margaritas were huge and delicious. The seating was ample, the restroom was clean for the most part just a bit of toilet paper on the floor and almost out of soap when I went in. The one thing I absolutely disliked was on my seat there was a bunch of food in my seat.. Not crumbs like steak! It's like little kids sat there and it was such a task to get somebody to clean it. Finally when I get a hold of somebody she came and brought a towel full with Clorox that she just dipped in a bucket. I asked her does that tell have Clorox she said yes I said never mind I will use a paper towel because I have black pants and he could stain my pants. Other than that a wonderful experience with my friends to celebrate our friend's birthday 🎂🎉

Found this spot on our way back from camping. Parking lot was full so I figured it would be good. Restaurant was packed inside. Even though it was packed, we got seated right away. It took awhile for a good but it was understandable. Me and my boyfriend decided to share the molcajete mixto. It was really good! The green sauce was very flavorful. Not too spicy but just the right amount of spice. It had a good portion of meat and shrimp which was filling so I'm glad we shared!

One of the best place with great ambience around Merced to have mexican delicacies. They have great whole fish fry and also a variety of mexican dishes to choose. Also they have combination menu where you can mix and match items which I like. You need to be early for dinner to have a seat comfortably without waiting in line for table. Call before you visit.

Really busy when I went, waitress was nice but disappeared after our food was served. Food was served on a giant dinner plate seemed to look like a lot but I finished it. Been coming here for years, even supported through the pandemic. I understand every business is raising their prices, so we aren't able to partake as frequently. We did however choose to order takeout from Isabella's a couple weeks ago. Definitely pricey, in addition to driving from Merced. So it's disappointing to not get chips and salsa with our order anymore. Like we chose this over much closer establiments, we try to support, even tipped for a take out order. In this economy, I don't think we'll be doing so again.

We went yesterday for dinner with the family. The waitress was really sweet and we really liked her. But my husband was brought the wrong order and so was my son. The waitress had several tables and was doing the best she can so it took a few for her to come back to check on us. She realized my husbands plate was wrong and replaced it. My sons food was replaced some time later, so she did fix it. It just took a while.

My mom's plate was overwhelming proportionally wise she did order a Mexican dish. My son ordered a basket of french fries and not alcart the portion we got was like all the alcart. I ordered carne asada nachos with pico de gallo and jalapenos on the side.. I told my mom I felt like I was pretty much taken. However the visit with my mother was great. The atmosphere was nice and the customer service was good.

For me, it's about first impressions, if the salsa is the first thing a customers tastes and it's not authentic it kind of ruins the rest of the meal.

Came here for an office Christmas get together. The atmosphere was great I love the artwork on the walls it was amazing, everybody was nice polite and greeted you. The servers were pretty fast with bringing drinks and other things however the food was not very good, it was very Bland and not up to par with my expectation. Everything had no flavor and seemed as if some of it reminded me of microwave food. Because of that I probably won't return there to eat again.

Food was good but they are always out of the lamb. Service was meh but most service is like that so read into that what you will. The atmosphere was fine but I personally don't care for wooden tables and chairs not to mention the fact that I don't go to Latin restaurants much so that feel was meh to me. The price is what irritated me. The food was pretty expensive despite not really filling me up and, even though I was in a group we each paid sepetately, I got charged a gratuity as if I was in a large group and so did my people. Total rip off! Oh, and they dared to ask if I wanted to tip to which I just paid my bill (without a tip) and left because I knew better than to continue being there.

Place was not pack or overwhelmed with people took about 15 minutes to be greeted by a waitress. To even get drinks or chips or salsa. Once those came it took about another 30 minutes to get food. My family and I went threw 3 baskets of chips and salsa before even getting food. Once the food was there we were already so full and basically had to force are selfs to eat. Food was amazing no complaints there they just need to work on there customer service. The owner was more helpful then any employee he had. Great food just customer service sucks

We wanted to have dessert, but seemed as if they wanted us out already! Customer service is number one priority in any place. Feeling welcome makes a client want to return or suggest a good place. Got accidentally charged $50 for a burrito, the burrito itself is mostly rice with minimal meat inside. Felt especially skimpy after seeing the inside. Next to nothing but rice inside.

I came here a few times a few years back when they had their buffet. The breakfast burrito at the time was ok, the buffet not so great. It's been a couple years since the height of COVID and I figured why not try this place again. It wasn't the best decision I've made. The service wasn't anything to harp about, although we were a big party the place wasn't packed. There were 7 waitresses, 2 bus girls, a host, and a bartender and we always had to ask for refills. They also charged us for chips without telling us they were, found out when we got the bill. For food, figured we'd go all out since it's been years since we've gone. We got the Chorizo Cheese dip for an appetizer, the pollo en crema and the 3 item (2 green chicken enchiladas and Chile Relleno). The salsa for the chips was like eating a salsa made by V8 tomato juice. The chorizo cheese dip was just super greasy (even though there was barely any chorizo) and within a minute already difficult to eat. The sauce on the pollo en crema was basically a paste and had a strong tang to it. The enchiladas were flavorless and chicken was VERY dry. The Chile Relleno, although having sauce, didn't have any flavor other then the deep fried oil taste mixed with the green Chile taste. Overall, the experience and food here will not bring me back. If you love bland and flavorless Mexican food, then this is the spot for you!

Worst visit ever my server barely even saw me and then I was seen to by a busser but apparently her name was Jenny. She didn’t seem interested in our table at all and it didn’t seem like she had much of a better attitude with anyone else either never coming back😡😤😡😡

Regrettably, my recent experience at your establishment was unsatisfactory due to inadequate service. Despite my anticipation to sample the food, I was unable to do so due to the poor service I received. While I understand that Sunday afternoons can be a busy time, it was disheartening to see tables adjacent to ours being served while we were being overlooked. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a waitress who handed us menus and asked us for our drink preferences. After receiving our drinks, we indicated that we were ready to order and waited expectantly for approximately 35-40 minutes. Despite placing our menus on the edge of the table to signal our readiness to order, the waitress never returned. Although we were cognizant of the workload, we were dismayed by the delay in service. We attempted to make eye contact with the same waitress who had seated us multiple times, but to no avail. Her apparent lack of urgency to attend to our needs was deeply disconcerting. After waiting for an unreasonable amount of time, we decided to leave. As we departed, we passed by the waitress who had initially seated us, but she did not acknowledge us. This left us feeling disheartened, and we could not help but wonder if her behavior was intentional. I am disappointed to share that my service experience was inadequate and unacceptable.

Burrito didn’t meet the expectations. Rice and beans are a little bland. Meat was super chewy (lots of fat). Our waiter took forever getting us extra utensils (we asked for different ones because ours were dirty.) We also asked for lemon for my burrito and my daughter’s tacos, which didn’t get brought over before I was 3/4 of the way done with my burrito. Once we finished it took forever to flag her down to get the bill. I Guess I had set my expectations a bit tooo high. Honestly i think I would’ve ate better at a taco truck, saved a bunch of money and would’ve probably had better customer service at the same time. I don’t think I would recommend this place

The food tastes pretty good but not worth the wait to be seated. Once seated the waitress forget to get drinks, anything that was asked and too many times got the order wrong. My dad likes coming here which is why “one more change” has been given several times just to be disappointed over and over. Today while trying to decide where to eat my dad finally said “NOT Isabella’s”.

This place it’s just getting worse and worse the servers talking all the time and we came to have dinner only 2 couple there they didn’t even bring us chips and salsa and they were gossiping instead of working , if the owner is not there they don’t care to do their job . We walked out and left ,will never go there again

Good food and ok ambiance but horrible service. The gave us the wrong menu and got yelled at for asking. Overall not coming back

Food was terrible, and the service was just as bad. The only time we saw waitress was when we ordered our food and when they brought the bill. No refills no follow up questions. Yikes. Stick with Josie's.

We came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and spent over $100, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We waited almost over an hour for our meals. I understand that sometimes food can take time, but this was far too long. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. The fajitas which should have come out sizzling were barely warm. I politely mentioned to the manager that the food was a little cold, hoping it could be warmed, but instead I was made to feel awkward when she said, “Well it can’t be, I just watched it come out of the kitchen,” implying I was exaggerating. Honestly, I’d much rather just quietly eat, leave a tip, and go home I hate having to say anything at all. The fajitas were supposed to come with guacamole, but what was served was barely a smear. When I asked if that was it, the server asked, “You want a little more?” despite there being almost nothing on the plate. 😭 They also tried charging extra for sour cream. When I order enchiladas like what? 2$ for a dollop of sour cream is crazy. I thought we were being messed with to the point I expected cameras to pop out and someone to yell, “You’ve been punked!”😭 Service overall was very slow we even waited a long time just for them to come ask what drinks we wanted. Staff acted condescending when we raised concerns, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Because of this, we didn’t even stay for dessert or sing happy birthday the special occasion was ruined. We didn’t even want to eat the point we took food home. So sad because I’ve eaten here before and had a good experience, and we were hoping for the same this time but that was not the case at all. The fajitas were refunded, which I appreciate, but it did not make up for the overall poor experience. I wish they could have made this right. The refund didn’t not make up for the ruined occasion. I went here on my birthday hoping to have a good meal and enjoy the night, but it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The service was painfully slow, the staff came off unprofessional, and when the food finally showed up, it wasn’t even hot. I ordered the fajitas combo, and it didn’t even come out sizzling like they advertise on the menu — it looked and felt like it had been sitting for a while. On top of that, a couple of the staff were giving me disgusting looks like I was bothering them just for being there, which made the whole experience even worse. It’s disappointing when you try to celebrate a special day and the restaurant can’t even get the basics right. For a place that calls itself a bar and grill, you’d expect at least decent service and fresh food — but that didn’t happen. Definitely not worth the money or the wait. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you’re trying to have a nice night out.

This place will never get my family’s business again the food was nasty and when they asked if we enjoyed everything my mom explained to the rude manager that it was not what we hoped for then the manager got more rude and rolled her eyes and said she would talk to the cook. Don’t waste your time or money in this place.

We had a very disappointing experience here. After waiting 45 minutes, we still hadn’t received our food and had to ask twice before anything came out. When it finally arrived, the food was bland, the meat was very chewy, and the shrimp was overly salty and burnt it really felt rushed. On top of that, the kids’ meal wasn’t given priority, which made the wait even harder for our little one. Unfortunately, not the experience we were hoping for.

After a long day at Yosemite with family we decide to stop by and get food at this location.We were a group of 13 which is no easy task for any restaurant, however being 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant, we did not believe it would be a great issue. We proceeded to order and so far so good. When the food starting coming out the issues began - the milanesa on the menu very clearly listed that it came with HOUSE FRIES, 3 orders hit the table none had the fries, we kindly asked our server that the menu stated it came with this, and she responded not very kindly that the menu had changed and walked away. Additionally, all of the tortillas were solid hard, that one person from our group chipped her tooth when trying to bite into it. When we brought this to the attention of the server - JENNIFFER - she ignored the person telling her and they never even bothered to bring new tortillas to the table. Furthermore, one of our guests ordered a chicken dish and they found a piece of raw fish in her chicken dish. Very unfortunate! Ooh and to top it off, one dish never came out. Making the time lapse between the majority of the dishes and the last one a 20-25 minute span of time. Lastly, I asked if we could make this aware to a lead or manager, and it turned out that our server was the 'manager'. When I spoke to her I made her aware of the lack of quality in some of the food, and the service. She then made excuse after excuse of why she was unable to deliver a pleasant experience, and hoped that we 'could give them another chance'. Having 10 years of restaurant experience, and enjoying different restaurants and foods, I can say this was probably the worse experience I have ever had in my life! So bad I had to make my first Google Review! If I was the owner of this restaurant, I will check the satisfaction of guests when Jennifer is in charge of the floor!
