We had a very nice lunch sitting outside here. Prices were reasonable and food was very good
Great farm to table resteraunt. Food quality was excellent. Definitely a place you dress up for and enjoy the ambiance.
Had a very nice mother's day brunch, the family enjoyed their meals. Everything seemed fresh and the waiter did a great job.
My sister and I both loved our lunches at Elderberry Pond. The food was fresh and delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.
This is an outstanding fine dining restaurant. The service is impeccable, the food is exceptional. It is the first restaurant that I have encountered that has had NO health code violations in it's history. This is remarkable. The ambiance will make for a fine dining experience.
Up from Pennsylvania visiting our son in Syracuse. Had an amazing food. My son had stake I had pork chop, my had wife had chicken. The service was great. Highly recommended Definitely go again
Amazing place! The food is fresh, we'll cooked and the atmosphere is great. We were a party of six and the service was great and all the food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Wait staff was very friendly.
The staff is very good. The menu has plenty of options. Our wait staff (Jack) was outstanding. Our group of 5 people was very happy with the experience at Elderberry Pond Restaurant.
Mothers Day was fantastic! Great Fine Dinning Experience. We will be going back to try other items on the menu. Thank you for making our Mothers day so special!
Went here last night for our 26th Anniversary, I wanted the next 25 to be extra special. This place was a great, it was all I expected, quaint, friendly and the best part of course was the meal. If that was my last meal, I'd be ok with that. The NY Strip was "to die for" cook to perfection, small strip of fat on the edge, mmm and no veining, just great meat, brought back memories of how food tasted 40 yrs ago. My wife had the Brisque, that to was, how you would think it would taste, in a dream. Great flavor and texture, the veggies as expected, the best a veggie (asparagus) can be, great crisp and leaving me wanting more. Worth the drive and worth the money, bring some $$ P.S. the view and the layout is pretty special too...
Excellent food and s ervice as usual. Took friends for their 1st time and they loved it. Halibut, salmon w/artichoke pesto, appetizers and desserts all wonderful.
Our family just celebrated our parents 60th wedding anniversary at Elderberry Pond!! It was wonderful. We had the enclosed sunroom to ourselves, Cheryl and staff were awesome and the food was amazing!!! Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!
An amazing restaurant with fantastic views and friendly staff. We enjoyed a great brunch here. The outdoor seating was wonderful, as was the food. Definitely a place I would visit again.
This is a beautiful place to eat. They offer organic and local foods but they also grow their own right there on the farm. A perfect farm to table restaurant. It's a gorgeous old farm house setup with a very comfortable atmosphere.
I highly recommend visiting this amazing culinary ‘jewel ‘ if you are in the area or are up for a great destination meal. We had a early lunch and was beyond pleased with the meal, service and beautiful venue. I had the vegetable risotto and it was as good as I’ve ever had ( and I’ve had it a lot!) .
The food and atmosphere is why we keep coming. Fresh local ingredients. I love to walk by the herb garden. It definitely is a destination stop. So worth it. Favorite starter..crabcakes.
Excellent quality ingredients prepared with great thought and detail. Everything was delicious. Service was fantastic. Place always looks great.
I went to lunch with a group of high school friends celebrating our 70th birthdays. It was our last day in the Skaneateles area and it was a great ending to a wonderful 4 day trip! I would highly recommend it
This restaurant is exquisite! The food is divine and the service was perfect!! My husband I drove an hour and a half and we plan to return. Try the thirsty Owl Diamond wine...Amazing!!
Went there for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Cute place. The Mushroom Bisque was excellent. I also had the Chicken and Mushroom pesto pasta. Awesome
We started with the beef soup. So good. They bring some very delicious bread. Then, crab cakes and the sausage sandwich. Followed by chocolate cake.
Wonderful food, very hearty meals. our family's favorite place to eat for special occasions. Everything is farm to table and from the local area. Great beer and wine selection the only gripe is that things can get expensive.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Elderberry Pond this evening. Food was excellent (never disappoints) service was top notch. Thank you for a delightful experience
The farm to table food is fantastic. Every single meal is outstanding. Our new favorite place to eat.
Our 12 th Wedding Anniversary!! The service and food was amazing! Thank you for making our special day wonderful all over again!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was delicious and plentiful, quite a few choices on their wine list and yummy flourless chocolate torte.
Not only most delicious but also truly charming! Homegrown, selected, fair priced, down to earth all for heavenly good times on this gorgeous farmstead. Cheers and thank you!
Delicious, and amazing that they are able to bring so much of the food from their own farm! Highly recommended, even if it is a little pricey.
I had a lemony cream sauce on top of penne with asparagus and I enjoyed every bit of it. The place has a nice, quaint feel to it.
Elderberry Pond is a charming gift to the area! Food is amazing and service is superb. Great ambience. Make sure to save room for dessert...or take some home. If you are lucky enough to go when their little store is open, definitely go! It is housed in a small stone building next door and has some fun products along with the soup, salad and one or two desserts served that day in the restaurant.
We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner here in the side room on 6/16/23. The communication and setup was superb as we are from NC. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent...spot on! Everything from the appetizers to my prime rib dinner was amazing!
This is a beautiful hidden gem! So peaceful and welcoming! The food is delicious and unique! All fresh ingredients from their garden and farm! On Fridays they sell their baked goods next door. Worth the ride! Enjoy
Good food, and very reasonably priced post COVID (compared to inflation everywhere else). Dining room can get loud, but servers are happy to place you wherever you want. You're basically eating in an old farm house. We don't go often, but we always have a lovely time. This is a dress up place
Such a relaxing and wonderful atmosphere. Every detail of the meal is taken care of with the utmost care and precision. It was the perfect place to sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, your loved ones at your table, and partake in a meal worthy of kings and queens. Thank you for making this a special night I will always remember.
Took my wife here tonight for our anniversary. Very happy with the evening. From the accommodating hostess, to the friendly, knowledgeable and attentive servers, front of house staff was fantastic. Not a huge menu but had no trouble deciding on our menu items. The food was all delicious with the exception of the crab stuffed haddock- stuffing itself was delicious, and also seasonal veg but the fish was just ok. Tea and coffee are worth a mention and desserts we're outstanding. Vanilla cheesecake was smooth and the wild berry sauce was prefer. The flourless chocolate tart was so decadent. In short ( if possible at thisoint) go here for your next memorable dinner. You'll be glad you did.
Their crab stuffed haddock with garden fresh red potatoes and asparagus is what I would expect in NYC. Hard to believe that it took me so many years to find this gem. A beautiful setting in and out. The wine list is fabulous and reasonably priced.
A few years ago I posted a 5 star food review when Merby was still involved in creative lunch choices using healthy herbs and grains. While the waitstaff is excellent most items now on the menu are filled with mayo and heavy on cheese. I could not really find an entree that was a healthy salad with fresh herbs Soups are always delicious but I don't eat high fat items anymore. Don't need to change all the comfort food options but maybe add one of her wildrice and mint salads with option to add protein to the salad. Still a beautiful place to go to. Looked at the dinner menu and maybe more healthy choices.
Just went for the first time tonight and had such a great experience!!! Jordynn was our server and she was AMAZING!!! She was very knowledgeable, attentive and hilarious which made dinner so fun! We loved the crab cakes and bruschetta apps and the salmon was incredible. I would definitely come back for it. The pear dessert really surprised me - it was SO good! Overall great experience. Would definitely go back and ask for Jordynn again!
This was my third visit to Elderberry and it was AMAZING! We had a group (10) to celebrate my birthday and I can't say enough about the food and service. We had a very attentive and friendly waiter, Garrett and the birthday cake made by Cheryl rivaled my wedding cake..no leftovers! The food was presented beautifully and it was seasonal & delicious. We all love the fact that it is farm to table and the ambience is warm and inviting. You just can't go wrong, especially for a special occasion!
The restaurant is so nicely appointed inside and the seating outside is very serene, like eating in a wildflower garden. Our meals were so delicious, made with fresh vegetables from the farm. Our waitress, Kathy, was extremely knowledgeable concerning the menu and she was very attentive to our needs. We will recommend Elderberry to our friends and return again!!
Gorgeous atmosphere. Food was as fresh as it gets and they have some real good Chefs. Best Crab Cakes in my entire life! Steaks were great too. Cook perfectly as ordered.
An incredible experience...not just a place to eat - the lunch menu had great selections, including a number of vegetarian appetizers and entrees, and the desserts....well, words can't describe. It's obvious that a lot of care goes into choosing everything that goes into each menu item, and the preparation and presentation is perfect. Worth every penny...and I'm pretty cost-conscious when it comes to dining out... :-)
Everything was awesome, food, service, and atmosphere. Went for my wifes birthday with my daughter also. Each meal was delicious.
One of my favorite restaurants. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Food is always fresh and excellent. Absolutely have to get one of the homemade desserts!
This place is in the country and a wonderful discovery. I highly recommend getting out there before they close for the season. I grow a lot of the good they serve and locally source. Linen table cloths, good wine list. Do it for yourself . You won’t regret it.
Stuff into the woods and with lots of farms around. This place is worth the trip off the beaten path. The ingredients are organic, free range, grass fed, and very good! We stopped by for lunch, had soup and a burger. Service is great and prices reasonable. A big thumbs up!!
A wonderful country side type place. The menu was deliciously inviting and their taste did not disappoint. Our service was excellent and was treated with a very friendly smile. Highly recommended especially for those special occasions!
This quaint, farm-to-table restaurant is literally out in the country. They grow almost everything they serve, except for their organic beef. The service was fine, the decor beautiful, and the food absolutely delicious! It’s a bit pricey, but we’ll worth it for a special time out.
We ate in the sunroof. Very pleasant with the leaf change My pasta dinner was delicious with enough to take home Dessert was creme brulee Finished it all
Beautiful restaurant that also has outdoor seating available. Pizza ap was don't miss. All food steak, scallops, fish cooked spot on . Service was very good with the owner, Cheryl, overseeing the dining room. A nice country drive will reward you with a memorable experience!
I am so glad that I finally made it to Elderberry Pond!!! It did not disappoint! The waitresses and hostesses were just wonderful! 3 out of four of us had crab cakes and they were delicious, the 4th had the mushroom risotto, and she was very satisfied! I love supporting a local establishment, I love that they care about what's in their food using organic ingredients, and that they are a farm to table establishment! We will definitely be back!!
The Elderberry Pond Restaurant is a world class restaurant! I believe it is by far the best restaurant in the greater Syracuse region. I also place the Elderberry in my top ten favorite restaurants in the USA. The menu, food, and wine are creative. The food is flawless and absolutely delicious. Every couse was sensational. The farm to table makes a difference. What a treat to have two chefs from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park cooking for us. The dining room is both contemporary and traditional with spacious beauty between tables. The hospitality is warm and welcoming. Maggie took excellent care of us from the time of our reservation to greeting us at the door and attending to our dining experience down to every detail. All the staff work together as a team. The staff have been well trained and exhibit subtle hospitality skills observed at the finest restaurants in New York, London, and Paris. The grounds are also beautiful and well cared for. Every detail of the Elderberry exudes creativity, passion, attention to detail, and pride of exquisite service. We would drive from the Vermont just to have dinner at the Elderberry!
One of our favorite places to go! A calm/romantic atmosphere with really great meals!
A group of us ate lunch on the terrace. We got soup and salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. The roasted pepper salad dressing is homemade and complements the tender new greens in the salad. Soup is never disappointing, usually a blend of local vegetables with meat or on their own. There is a depth to the soup that can only be achieved with a combination of fresh herbs. The ambience is beyond compare. There is a glassed- in veranda that has views of trees, a cozy fireside room in mission style and the terrace bordering a flower garden overlooking a forest. By far my favorite restaurant. Try the homemade cold pressed apple cider.
Beautiful. High ceilings. Large windows. Enclosed porch. Patio seating. Wooded setting. Locally sourced & site-grown fresh food cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned with fresh herbs. Like dining in the French countryside!
This place is fine dining at its best! The food from beginning to end was perfect and delicious in every way. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was beautiful. I highly recommend the prime rib. Get a bottle of wine and try the stuffed mushrooms. I guarantee you'll be glad you did. I travel across the country extensively Monday through Friday, and I eat at some of the finest restaurants and this place is top-notch. Fresh and local. Keep up the good work folks. I'll definitely be back when traveling in the area again.
Lovely converted barn like space. Post and beam with a large brick fireplace and some outdoor seating. We had tomato bisque - roasted and reduced with punchy flavor. This approach was consistent throughout our meal. Mushroom bisque was earthy and creamy. Sea scallops were floating in butter and cooked perfectly. We also had crab stuffed haddock. The crab was finely minced and sweet, the haddock was also cooked perfectly. Both mains came with a side of steamed asparagus, light and crisp, plus roughly mashed potatoes skin on. We finished with a slice of orange zest cheesecake with wild berry sauce. The orange was powerful matched with a caramel crust, whipped cream and the mixed berry sauce. The fresh bread was dense and salty (white) and sweet (whole grain). A glass of wine and a glass of hot cider finished it off for just under $125, plus tip. Service was friendly and enthusiastic.
Me and my boyfriend came for a spa weekend in the area escaping NYC. Found this place and I totally recommend it. Flavours were amazing. Had the risotto and artichoke pizza. So genuine and rustic. Service was super nice and friendly. I wish more places like this existed closer to NYC.
Went for a lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We ate simply with crab cakes, chicken salad and a creme brulee dessert. Wonderful crab cakes and a super dressing. Creme brulee was really creamy and came with a home made cookie. Brilliant. Ate on the deck with beautiful views. Awesome!
I had my Bridal shower here in May. Cheryl was super flexible to work with and very accommodating. We were located in the sunroom and it was so beautiful! The staff that worked were all very professional and helpful! The food was AMAZING! I had the veggie pasta, others in my group had the burger, crab cakes and chicken salad. I heard everyone loved it all. The cake was delicious!!! Very satisfied with our party! I look forward to going back!
Wonderful unique gem of the finger lakes. All the food, appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts are fresh and amazing. The restaurant is a beautiful location and is actually on their farm. They serve produce and pasture raised meats from their own farm. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, and attentive.
Extraordinary food and extraordinary service. Smaller menu but all made with the freshest ingredients and finest preparation. A truly lush dining experience for anyone looking to eat healthy and enjoy a calm meal in a tranquil atmosphere.
Wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is rustic elegance as it is an actual working farm. Our server, Grace, was a delight, entrees delicious and desserts to die for. This is definitely a keeper and my husband and I look forward to returning.
Best farm to table dining, servers, atmosphere. Have fun introducing friends to the experience and having them love it just as much!
Fantastic! This was our first visit since COVID-19, and won't be our last. We went with our daughter and granddaughter, and had a wonderful meal. Danny was a great server and made sure we were taken care of. My halibut special was delicious, my wife's tenderloin perfect and our daughter's scallops spot on. My meal was huge, but I still managed to find room for dessert, as did the others. I had a stomach ache at the end, but it was a good ache. Our granddaughter loved sampling our dinners. At least I think she did based on her repeated reaching for more. Kudos to them for also being attentive to our daughter's celiac needs. We'll be back soon.
In the past, it was sometimes hard for me to find a dish on the menu that I wanted to order. (However, see UPDATE-2 below.) But, the special prix fixe turkey dinner they serve around the Thanksgiving holiday is pretty good. Their flourless chocolate tart is excellent, as is the service. UPDATE-1: It's been four years since we last visited this restaurant. The special turkey dinner has lost a bit in quality. Instead of turkey carved from the breast, it was sliced from a boneless turkey roll. However, the flourless chocolate tart, mushroom soup, ambience and service are very good. UPDATE-2: Their menu appears much improved. I enjoyed the shrimp in cajun tomato cream sauce over penne pasta. I requested the dish extra spicy with extra sauce and the chef kindly complied. As a starter, the tomato basil soup was delicious and had a nice subtle kick of heat. My wife enjoyed the curry chicken soup and the mushroom risotto with vegetables. The blueberry lemon cake was a nice way to end the meal. UPDATE-3: Returned for the turkey dinner special that is offered in December. This time the turkey was carved from the bone and not from a roll. Excellent meal. I tried the creme brulee for dessert. It was good, but could have used more flavor in the custard. UPDATE-4: Had an outstanding Easter dinner at the restaurant. Although traditional ham was on the menu, I chose the shrimp scampi over rigatoni and my wife chose the vegetable risotto. Both dishes were delicious. For dessert my wife chose the lemon cake, this time with raspberry sauce, and I tried something new, coconut cream pie. Both were a good way to end a great meal. UPDATE-5: Visited again for their Dicken's holiday dinner. I repeated my selection of tomato basil soup, shrimp scampi (which this time came with delicious delicata squash), and flourless chocolate cake. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli which included a small lobster tail. Great dinner.
The atmosphere inside is incredible no matter where you sit. The porch offers views of the surrounding farm, the dinning room seats you next to a real wood burning fireplace. The fall pasta is my favorite on the menu right now. The Charles Dickens Christmas Dinner is much fun, though I feel like they put their heart into the meats more than the vegetable option (which is their risotto so I was disappointed when it was a bit crunchy). All in all we will definitely return when we have another special occasion to celebrate. Definitely worth the drive out from the city.
I am a longtime restaurant owner and always appreciate creative food and outstanding service. I was treated to that recently at Elderberry Pond. The old farmhouse is beautifully decorated. We (my adult daughter and I) were shown to our table by (I think) the owner where our friends were waiting. Michelle was our waitress, and I knew that it would be an outstanding evening by her greeting to us and by her presentation of the nightly specials. She listed and explained the long list as if she was reading from a prompter. It was all very impressive. She was/is very impressive! I had one of the specials - lobster ravioli. The sauce was outstanding, and the ravioli were topped with lobster, still in their shells - again very impressive. My daughter had crab cakes (which she said were almost as good as mine) and one of our friends had the special rib eye that fell off the plate. The mark of a good (fine dining) restaurant is when dirty dishes are immediately removed, and water glasses are always filled. That was the case here, and the restaurant was busy. The Skaneateles area is known for several world class restaurants - Elderberry Pond is certainly on that list.
Amazing! The entire experience was one I'd like to repeat often. Food, service, atmosphere it's all there and then some. I don't usually eat scallops out. These were done to perfection. We come from Bristol. Well worth the trip.
Our first time visiting this restaurant and we are very impressed with the menu and quality of food. Yes, truly farm fresh to table to serve a tasty food. We have a Thai pizza and the shrimp appetizers with a flavored dressing that makes a big difference when you put a kale salad together.
What a beautiful evening we all had….Elderberry pond is unique in its food and service. Cheryl welcomes each and everyone with warmth and grace …and Chris sends you home with a delighted palate. Thank you both and you’re wonderful staff for a memorable evening… Love the Slauson’s
Everything here is delicious, from the drinks to the bread to the appetizers to the main course to the dessert. Local, fresh ingredients with an interesting menu that changes seasonally. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. One of the best meals you can get in the Finger Lakes.
Our whole experience was 5 star. Our server Murad was very attentive. The whole team took great care of us. We sat indoors with a beautiful view of the wildflowers outside. But most importantly- the food!!! We started with the soup and homemade bread. WOW! The squash soup tasted like the it was Picked from the garden that morning. And it so light & so flavorful. My husband had the mushroom soup which was equally amazing. Our entrees were the crab stuffed haddock with mashed potatoes and green beans - which were straight from the garden. Perfection!!! And don’t sleep on the dessert. It is rare to find perfection in all Courses including the wine selection. There is clear attention to detail on every level. Well done Elderberry Pond! We live 2 hours away and will definitely be back!
The ambiance is country, a step back in time while crisp and modern. Is that possible? Yes! Elderberry was so good, I forgot to take pictures. I had the Asian salad with grilled portobello mushrooms sliced on top. You cannot be disappointed here. As you leave you can purchase their organic veggies. Today they had green beans, cherry tomatoes, green peppers and egg plant. They green beans were an amazing side back at home!
Beautiful spot with amazing food. We had the vegetarian pasta and it was great. The chef should consider a house made pasta to make it better. Be sure to save room for dessert!
This is an amazing great restaurant. The people the crowd place is so beautiful and so wonderful. It just amazes me that I found another great restaurant over the years. Coming here. I cannot get over how wonderful human beings everybody. Yes, thank you for being such loving caring people.👩🦼🙏🏼
Always great food. Excellent service. Stunning setting. I have never been disappointed. Elderberry Pond is a wonderful addition to the cultural scene of Auburn, NY. I am grateful to the owners and staff for creating a 5-star dining experience. Not inexpensive, but the saying, "You get what you pay for" applies at Elderberry Pond.
Pretty, simple and early American style farmhouse overlooking the tranquil fields between Auburn and Skaneatales serves sophisticated, new American cuisine with the freshest ingredients. (The family's farm stand opens nearby in summer so they know fresh ... ) We loved our delicately spiced duck and crab-stuffed haddock dishes with perfectly cooked asparagus! Had a yummy house made pizza with artichoke hearts to start. Our wait person recommended the Thirsty Owl Riesling to pair with them, great choice. Desserts sounded amazing but we could not eat any more!!
Delicious, fresh, fresh, vegetables, atmosphere perfect, outside setting beautiful, service was great. The hummus was delicious. I preferred it with the fresh bread and vegetables. I found the pita bread too toasted (hard) for my taste. The cherry tomatoes were the best I've ever tasted. Repeat visit required on our next trip to the area.
Very nice atmosphere. Ran out of one of the lunch specials quite early. Had a misprint on the menu regarding the ingredients of one of the other specials. An out of the way location, but very good food.
A quaint spot set up in the back road. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Loved it. The best coconut creme pie I ever had!
Beautiful venue! Waitress was attentive. Food was overpriced for what was served. Plates were cold so our food was not as warm as we expected. Mushroom soup was absolutely delicious! I had the stuffed haddock, which was not stuffed but about 3-4 tablespoons on top of a haddock filet. Mashed potatoes had no flavor and not very warm. The vegetable was squash and that was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavor. The chicken milanese was okay, nothing special. Both our mashed potatoes could have been served warmer.
IF YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR LIFE SAVINGS ON A MEAL THAN THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. The food was very fresh and delicious but staff was very odd and akward. Except the boy in the kitchen... :) he was a lil cutey
The food was delicious and bountiful but the service was somewhere between meh and non-existent. I would like to give them the benefit of doubt but the waitress was either mentally detached from her job or milking the auto-grat.
The food is inconsistent. The ingredients are outstanding, and when allowed to speak for themselves the food is also outstanding. In particular, the coconut cream pie was notable. On the other hand, the pork stir fry main course is a muddled mess that detracts from the flavor of the meat. The location is pleasant, and the service was good.
Disappointed. We arrive for dinner at 5:30, beautiful evening, and we were early diners. We ordered - waitress came back saying featured soup was gone and asparagus was not available on the scampi. Would we like to substitute spinach? Well, okay, but the asparagus was the attraction. Scallops, and halibut, and fresh peas were excellent, but routinely plated. Two desserts of three were very good, but strawberry shortcake was terrible. The shoetcake was dry and brown and the strawberries, for the middle of fresh strawberry season, looked and tasted frozen and withered. Very disappointed overall with this $184 dinner for three. I don't know whats happening to this restaurant, sadly. Used to be a favorite. This is the third time in a row when expectations were not met. Wait staff was friendly and okay, but my water glass was empty and never refilled. Sad to write this review.
