Had dinner at Amaya's restaurant and was seated very quickly. My hostess was very professional, knowledgeable and with the menu and greeted me with a smile. The atmosphere was very family-oriented and there were quite a few families visiting that evening at the restaurant. The atmosphere was electric and there were lots of laughing and families engaging. Even though I dined alone I had a great time. The place that I order will very reasonable, parking was easy and plentiful and there is handicap accessibility available. Thank you Amaya Mexican restaurant staff, you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work! I will be sure and tell all my friends where to get some great authentic Mexican food and mango margaritas. ❤️
Amayas should have Oscar nomination for best food. My family and I enjoy stopping here from time to time. If we have the moment. Every time we eat here at Anayas , they never disappoint. This place is a golden ticket.for Super amazing service. Our waiter was. very quick and our waiter was phenomenal. I recommend this on anyone top 10. Always get the taco plate. 🥹
Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t tried this place sooner! The chalupas were overpriced (almost $15 for two with no sides) but they were worth it to me. I heard the breakfast was also good so I came back the next day and had breakfast. I’d say the breakfast was better and the best part was they actually got everything right how we ordered it. I’ll definitely be returning.
Amaya’s Taco Village is a solid spot for a laid-back Tex-Mex breakfast at a good price. The patio is super cute on a nice day, and it’s kinda fun to just sit there and stare at the I-35 flyovers. Definitely a local favorite—lots of regulars, and it gets pretty busy, especially on Sunday mornings. The free chips are nothing fancy (straight-up supermarket quality), but hey, they’re free, so no complaints. Service is good, but my food took about 30 minutes to come out. Seasoning is on the lighter side, but the portions are generous. The menudo is loaded with meat and tastes a lot like Joe’s Bakery and Coffee Shop’s. The migas plate was way bigger than I expected—so much scrambled migas egg for $7.65! The flavor is pretty mild, but the huevo ranchero sauce on top is nice and fresh. I ended up using the salsa from the tortillas to give it more of a kick, and that worked great. And holy moly they gave me 4 tortillas. Also, shoutout to the breakfast potatoes—crispy and super tasty. I could only finish half my plate. I left very full and satisfied.
The food was so good! Just like the South location’s experience including our fabulous server, Claudia. Bean & cheese nachos, beef enchiladas, and cheese enchiladas were served hot from the kitchen and the portions were generous so we had plenty bring home. My only suggestion, not really a complaint, we were sat about 2 feet from a large party while many other tables were empty. Would have liked to be one or two tables over since it appeared all sections were still “open.” Already planning to come back Friday for margaritas!!
Great experience!!! Dining at Amaya's is always a pleasure. The food is excellent and tasty. The waitresses are all consistent and willing to take care of you. Never once did my coffee cup reached empty. Also, the prices are very reasonable for what you're receiving. This will soon be your go to for Mexican food.
Great experience at Amaya’s. Corn tortillas are homemade and delicious. Chips and salsa had the perfect spicy flavor. We split the ground beef nachos and #6 Mexican platter with shredded chicken enchiladas and ground beef taco. Everything was delicious. We left so full with leftovers. Excited for our next visit!
We’d passed this place for more than a decade, but had never gone in. Well, I’m really sorry about that! The food was top notch - although I’ve learned it’s always a matter of personal taste. We had a terrific meal, a charming waitress and will definitely be back
Hands down this is my favorite Tex Mex place in Austin. Not a chain, it has 2’lications in Austin. Their Village Tacos are outstanding, their breakfasts stellar and reasonably priced. Hot sauce is terrific and if you ask for a bag they will let you take what you haven’t eaten honestly with you. The cheese enchiladas work better than a margarita to get over a hard day. I hear the zucchini enchiladas are pretty great too. Homemade corn tortillas!
Been eating at Amaya's for decades. Really miss it now that we don't live in Austin. Some favorites are migas, their homemade salsa, anything with their ranchero sauce, and carne guisada. Also, the…

Been coming to Amaya's taco Village for a very long time! Always great food and service!
The food was great. We didn't have to wait long to get it and our waiter was excellent! Highly recommend.

Pretty darn good Tex-Mex with great service! It was easy to get a table, even during the lunch rush. The corn tortillas are to die for!! So delicious!! Same with the chips. You can really tell everything is homemade and fresh. The staff were very attentive and quick! Great place all around.
Great little spot off 35. Drinks are strong! The Mango-nata is MUST try! The food is overpriced for the quality. Needs to be seasoned. Food isn’t bad but if you are going to charge those prices, I expect the food to match. I recommend this place. Hopefully the food is better next time I come back.
Food was pretty good and plenty of seating. Fajita plate was large but not exactly large slices of beef. More like a Philly steak with strips. The crunchy taco that came with my meal (I think it was the Mexican dinner) was not crispy. Enchiladas are pretty good. Best item was the really hot flour tortillas. Tortilla chips were pretty good. Kinda weird to have an auto suggested 20% tip. When checking out in their little device you would think 18% would be recommended minimum then work up from there. Service was good so I tipped 20% but not a fan of being forced to
Excellent Tex-mex. We drive from Cedar Park to eat here. Portions are large and the food is very good.

Good quality food at decent prices. Seated quickly and the staff was friendly. What more could you ask for?
Good food, especially the homemade corn tortillas, migas, enchiladas, and rice and beans. I would NOT order a Mexican martini again because I don't think any alcohol was in mine. They are strong at…
I went here for the first time in awhile. The head to be magnificent crispy taco shells were terrible. I’ve been eating here for 20 years and this has never happened before.

I ordered two plates from the menu. Beef with extra beef enchilada plate with jalapenos And a 1 beef 2 cheese wrapped in flour tortillas plate. I was told by the wait staff to check my plate bc they had a hard time preparing my order. Though I clearly pointed and clicked what was on their online order. As I was checking I realized the plates are not labeled. The young man asked me to open both plates while he pointed at what he THOUGHT were jalapenos. I told him to take my order back and REDO my entire order and label the plate. So they would get it right. I decided to come back to the counter where he walked to me with now labeled plates. I told him that I live in Dallas now, but came to Austin for an appointment and my husband wanted Amaya's as did I. And I surely did not want to come home and the order was infact wrong. Well it was WRONG. No jalapenos on the beef plate...but they were on the beef and cheese plate and wrapped in corn tortillas.. I cannot tolerate heat so I am unable to eat it I spent 40+ tip and still unable to eat. I will be back in the Austin area later in the month and I hope to get Amayas To prepare my meals at no cost Kerry
The wait for our food was on the long side the one person had to wait an additional 3-5 minutes. I had the Deluxe which is an incredible amount of food. The taco shell was not crunchy-more like tough and hard to tear through. The guacamole on the chalupa was acidic and tasteless. I used to come here with friends every Thursday. My how the quality has declined.
This place did not live up to expectations! Super hot salsa, the grilled chicken was ACTUALLY pan fried, and the fish tacos were mushy. Can't recommend

I came here on Thursday, January 22 of 2026 at around 2:15 PM. The server greeted me and saw that I had my service dog. She started looking at me confused, told me to wait and went to the back and got who I’m assuming is the manager who proceeded to tell me I can only eat there if I sit outside. This is 100% illegal to deny a service dog access. I highly suggest the management brush up on ADA TITLE III. I am heartbroken by this as this would’ve been my third day in a row back. After this treatment I’m not sure I would ever come back. I felt humiliated and excluded due to my service animal.
Unfortunately after 28 years going here since they were in Capital Plaza, the manager on duty today at closing worked REALLY HARD to earn a 1 star across the board. Not only was my to go order TWENTY FIVE MINUTES LATE from the pickup time, they were not able to fulfill the order correctly. They were out of taco meat for my queso. The manager only offered to give me "more of something else" instead of preparing it correctly. I asked if I could be put on a list for a future one to be made correctly...refusal. NO apology for how late they were. They had run out of beans too and others were waiting for orders to be corrected. It was a bad day and bad service from this crowd and I AM SO DISAPPOINTED they couldn't simply offer me a remake on another date, as often as I get food there.
Not the same, ordered soup ( caldo de rez) it was served in an entirely small bowl , lots of veggies and meat but hardly any broth plus no flavor (I wanted soup! ) so Asked waitress for to go containers ( no flavor not going to eat it) and if they would please add broth. Waitress came back with a message from the manager stating that they would do it for free this time but they do charge for extra broth. I was blown away and needless to say disappointed and will not return. This used to be a regular dinning place for me and family. Sad. It's gone down in quality.
I have no complaints about the food. Food is great! I've been eating here for 25 years. Today i just couldn't believe it. Found a sharp object inside my mouth after I bit my taco. I was chewing and felt something hard when I was chewing. I spit it out and it looked like a bone shard. Man I'm lucky I didn't swallow it. That shard could cut me up from the inside and maybe kill me or something or maybe if lucky it passes through with no issues. If I'm writing this experience down is because of this reason. I don't like altercations so I didn't cause a scene. The bartender saw when I pulled the shard out of my mouth. He then goes and gets the owner or manager. The person in charge then comes and says to me are you ok? I say yes that luckily I didn't bite down hard enough and luckily I bit down with the shard on its side and not straight so I didn't hurt myself. Then the man says what do you want me to do? Want another taco?🤦🏻 I say no I'm fine. Walks away. Then the bartender hands me the check. I almost hurt myself eating my food and still ended up paying for my meal. If I would have hurt myself it wouldn't cost me the $20 they charged me for my meal! This bums me out. So disappointed.
