Opinions de Casa de Luz East Austin
Casa De Luz is the best! I always go here when I’m wanting a nourishing meal and it never disappoints. The one meal offering takes decision making out of the equation and I love that. The atmosphere is so peaceful and the staff and volunteers are very kind. Their prices are quite reasonable for how much food you’re getting and the quality of the food. Highly recommend - don’t snooze on ‘em!
Very relaxing! Wonderful staff. They are so pleasant. The food was amazing. Perfect for the “Whole Food, Plant Based” world! No oils limited sugar and still amazing tastes. Huge portions. Felt my blood pressure and cholesterol drop!! 😁. Coming back for the desert class. Plenty of parking. And very fair prices. Forgot to include the desert pics because we scarfed them down before thinking of a picture. So nice! We will be back!!!
I'm visiting from out of state and just happened upon Casa de Luz - Village East. I was so happy to hear about their offerings as I am a GF, V. If you're used to eating a vegan or plant-based diet free from processed foods and heavy seasonings, I think you'll absolutely love the food here. I left feeling nourished, well fed, but not weighed down. I only wish my city had a place like this! ✨️🙏🌱✨️
This is my favorite place in Austin. The food makes me feel so revitalized, and the ambiance is very relaxing. They have a lot of community outreach and other awesome shops in the vicinity. The set menu is insanely low priced at $16 as of this writing for a dinner. With that you get unlimited tea (hot and cold) and a plate that will definitely fill you up.
I usually go to the original location on Toomey Road but decided to give Casa Este a shot. It was such a nice experience! I love the ambiance and intentional space that they've created with soothing music, soft lighting, and cozy tables. The front of house and kitchen staff were very kind. We enjoyed our macrobiotic plates with delicious squash soup, and all of the refills of kukicha tea! I especially love the nut sauce they use on the veggies. What a lovely experience — thank you Casa Este! We will come back soon!
Absolutely love this place. I am trying to come once a week to show my support. I crave the food now. It's a fixed menu and always satisfying. You will literally always eat the rainbow and it's 100% plant based/ vegan goodness.
This is a place for healthy and delicious food. You don’t get to choose from menu, you pay for a plate of set of good food. And food is a good amount, will fill your stomach. We love to come here when we don’t want to cook and want something light. They have interesting desserts too. The environment is good, great music and nice inside & outside seats. Have parking in the front.
This place took me off guard. I’m an omnivore and have leant towards the animal-based diet for several years. So why am I craving this type of food? Sure, I’ve had more flavorful stuff. But it’s nourishing, clean and the staff is fabulous. It reminds me of the co-op days back in college. It’s not something I’d eat every day, but am glad it exists. Bonus if you like Christmas music and speak Spanish.
WOW this East location is incredible! The food is AMAZING!!! And you get SO MUCH for ~$15! Plus it’s so fast and easy—you just walk in, pay and get an amazing plate of whatever they made today—no menus, waitstaff, etc. Yes, it’s all vegan, organic, local etc. but I know tons of non-vegans who LOVE this place. Plus it’s peaceful and inviting—you can hang out and talk without super loud music blaring. Can’t say enough great things about this place!!
Casa de Luz EAST – Austin, TX This isn’t just an eatery—it’s a sacred space. ✨ Casa de Luz EAST is like stepping into a wellness sanctuary, and y’all… it radiates peace. Same Casa love, just a different location than the Village—yet the vibes and values are fully aligned. This spot is stunning inside and out. You’ll find tranquil seating, garden vibes, and an overall energy that instantly grounds you. Every meal here is 100% plant-based, gluten-free, organic, and deeply intentional. There’s no fixed menu—meals shift throughout the day based on fresh, local ingredients and the chef’s intuition. What you get is a warm plate crafted with soul. The food? Uplifting. Nourishing. Fulfilling. The dessert? On another planet. (The raw cacao truffles and cashew-based treats? UNREAL.💫) More than a restaurant, Casa de Luz EAST is a community hub—offering holistic workshops, fitness classes, and spiritual gatherings. If you’re looking for soul food in every sense of the word, this is your place. Shoutout to the kind-hearted staff who made the experience even better. 💛 ***sorry I missed capturing more content beyond the food!
This place was a very pleasant surprise and then walking distance from the UT baseball stadium. They have a preset meal that was delicious with beans, vegetables and salad and their iced tea was the best but also included a cup of butternut squash soup that was delicious and I don’t like butternut squash. The only bad thing was that Monday lasagna was not available .
Our 1st time here. We really enjoyed it! We are looking forward to our next time already. Such a relaxing and peaceful experience. The vibe was great. The food was simple and beautifully put together in our opinion for the price. The deserts were so good too! We took some to go lol. I'm hoping to plan a date where we can volunteer there together and maybe take one of the classes also.
This is one of my favorite spots to sit, eat, and enjoy the ambience. I leave feeling full, energized and satisfied. The food is always delicious- sauces take it to the next level! Especially love breakfast here- so much food to start my day off right.
Such an INCREDIBLE space. The food was so delicious and the portions were large. I was a little worried it wouldn’t be seasoned b/ it’s so wholistic but dang was I wrong ! It was SO flavorful and tasty. Wouldn’t change a thing ! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming . Love the whole vibe and all the accompanying shops. Will definitely be back !
My first time at this location! What a breath of fresh air in an otherwise hectic morning. Thank you Casa de Luz! I’ll be back again as this location is convenient for me.

Amazing food and community of people! It's the perfect place to slow down, refuel, and reconnect with your natural health. You will want to enjoy it everyday. Thank you Cass!

Not only is their food amazingly tasty, but also it's a heathy meal that never leaves me feeling tired, only energized. I love their mission and what they have been able to do with the space. The couple that started this location have been able to capture the essence of the original casa de luz with the blessing of their amazing owner. Such a special place. I've literally never found a place like Casa De Luz. Love it! Vibes are perfection.
Very delicious whole foods plant-based meal! Felt very nourished and energized after eating here. Loved the tea options as well. Overall a wholesome and nutritious meal for a fair price. I agree with some other comments about it not being heavily seasoned or full of oil. The sauces they make from scratch are rich and provide enough flavor for me. If I travel back to Austin this is definitely a place I’ll be back to.
Amazing food, great vibes, 10/10 place to eat. From the moment you walk in, there’s a sense of care and intention that carries through the entire experience. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere feels calm, warm, and grounding. The food is fresh, nourishing, and incredibly satisfying—thoughtfully prepared, beautifully balanced, and genuinely delicious. This is the kind of place where you leave feeling better than when you arrived. Casa de Luz East isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience, and one I’ll gladly return to again and again.
Simple, authentic organic food with incredible flavor — you can literally taste the freshness in every ingredient. The dishes are comforting, wholesome, and beautifully simple yet so delicious. And the dessert? Amazing! You’d never guess it was made with almond flour and sweet potato. The brownie was a total bomb!”

Favorite things: sweet potato brownie, serene atmosphere, passionate and experienced chefs, kind owner, & the walkable neighborhood! Perfect place to post up & write a letter, read that classic novel you skimmed through in high school, or have a heart to heart. It's exciting seeing Casa de Luz expand with this second location. 10/10 recommend. As someone dedicated to my health and animals, this is my fave food. <3

Meat lover who craves healthy meals from here My favorite place in Austin for healthy and affordable food! Each meal is a fixed price with a set meal. All food is vegan and the best vegan food I have eaten. Portions are large, and there is no tip required. I have had three meals here on separate occasions, and each time the meal was different and tasty. There is a parking lot in front with ample street parking in the nearby neighborhood if necessary. I will be making it a priority to visit Casa de Luz East at least once a week!
I love the fixed-menu concept with one price which includes drinks. The food was quite tasty. There was only one thing that I didn’t particularly like, but that’s just my taste buds. I wish that I had had time for dessert.

Casa de Luz is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal and spend quality time with friends or family. The food is fresh, healthy, and well prepared. Personally, I would prefer a slightly smaller portion of salad and larger servings of the other items on the plate. The dressings they use are absolutely delicious, although it would be nice to see some new flavors introduced for more variety and innovation. It’s definitely a recommended spot, especially if you’re looking for something quick, healthy, and tasty. The only downside is the parking, as it can be very difficult to find a spot.
