Food :4.5/5 Ordered special thali. Samosa, 3 rotis, rice, paneer masala, dal(lentils), black chana, eggplant with potatoes and rasgulla as a sweet. Tasted well. Seasoning proper and quantity good enough even you’re too much hungry.
Great Gujarati and Rajasthani thali here. The best samosas in the whole of Austin. They also serve gravy/sabji in three different container sizes. Love their panneer burji as well. Some fresh rotis, jilebis for purchase as well. Everything has clean flavors with not too much masalas.
Got a takeout of papdi chaat, samosa Chaat, masala Dosa and pani puri. Overall, authentic and delicious, except pani puri shells are prob not made in house fresh but from those ready to eat from grocery stores. Samosa Chaat was delicious but very spicy for us (we are Chinese Canadians without spicy food tolerance) the papdi chaat was perfect tho. Dosa was good too. We want to try thali here next time.
Value for money meals. Most items are below $10 & prepared nutritiously giving a homely vibe. Must try their parathas, Thali & Chole Bhature. One of the hidden gems inside an Indian Grocery store - Gandhi bazaar.
Curry in a Hurry is situated inside Gandhi Bazar Indian Stores. I absolutely love their food and affordable prices. Their chat items, meals, sweets, and other dishes are all fantastic. They offer great meals at very reasonable prices, and the chat items are excellent. So, if you’re planning to do some grocery shopping at Gandhi Bazar, you can enjoy some chat while you shop!
We couldn’t have asked for a better catering experience for our wedding! From start to finish, Binta was an absolute joy to work with. She was incredibly polite, accommodating, and made sure we felt taken care of at every step. The tasting sessions were a highlight in themselves—she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and tailored to our preferences and dietary restrictions. Her attention to detail and genuine care made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. On the big day, the Gujarati thali she curated for our wedding lunch was spectacular. Our guests had pretty high standards but Curry in Hurry absolutely exceeded the mark.
The food here is amazing, and the service is incredibly friendly. We recently moved from the East Coast and were craving authentic Indian thali-style food. I must say, it was absolutely incredible. Just give it a try, and you’ll understand why. The ambiance is clean and simple, which is why I didn’t give it a perfect 5. However, considering its cleanliness and quality, a 4 is definitely justified.
I saw the mixed reviews on this place and decided to give it a try with my husband. It was the BEST decision EVER! I am a fan of flavor-forward establishments that aren't shy of using an array of spices. The food was bursting with flavor and the dishes were all homemade with love. My palate was definitely pleased and intrigued at the same time. The service was top notch. Both the cashier and the cook staff were very attentive to my questions about the ingredients I needed to stay away from and they were very meticulous about ensuring that my order fit my dietary restrictions. (I am vegan, gluten free for food allergies). The location is not what I expected (inside a small supermarket) but I am a sucker for an adventure in a hole-in-the-wall eatery. I don't need fine dining, just fine service and that is what I received, so that checked all the boxes for me. I found someone's posted photos online of an old menu that helped me see some posted allergens. I didn't not see one in the cafe, just a sign. I think more details on allergens can be found online on Yelp or Google reviews (or just ask..they are friendly).
It is hard to find good Indian food in this town. Curry in Hurry is very great. My wife and kids always enjoy the food. I wish I could work here to be all the time here. Give 6 stars if possible. Thank you!! Raj

If you're craving a taste of India that's out of this world, look no further than Curry In Hurry!
A Delightful Catering Experience with Curry in Hurry for Our Special Event! Last month, for our son's Raas Garba Sangeet Sandhya, we decided to cater from Curry in Hurry, an Indian vegetarian restaurant in Austin, and what a fabulous decision that turned out to be! Owned by Binta Patel, Curry in Hurry not only promises quality food but delivers an exceptional service that caters perfectly to specific culinary needs. From the very beginning, Binta was a pleasure to work with. She listened patiently to our desire to recreate a Gujarati street food ambiance for our event, which was primarily attended by guests who cherish Gujarati cuisine. The professionalism and attentiveness of Binta, her husband Nirav and entire Curry in Hurry team were evident throughout our interaction. Food & Presentation: The menu was a hit! Here’s what stood out: - Soups: Sweet Corn and the Hot and Sour Soups were yummy. - Live Counters: The Pani Puri and Papdi Chaat counters were not just interactive but also served mouthwatering snacks that were true to the taste of Gujarat. - Dinner Delights: The Pav Bhaji was notably delicious with perfectly square, crispy pavs, alongside sumptuous Dabeli, and Chole served with triangle Paratha. - Desserts: The traditional favorites, Jalebi and Gulab Jamun, were prepared to perfection, ending our meal on a delightfully sweet note. Post the performances, the availability of Khichu, authentic Gujarati Chai, and South Indian snacks really showcased their flexibility and commitment to providing a comprehensive culinary experience. Special Dietary Accommodations: A notable mention is how well they catered to our Jain community members, adapting the menu to exclude potatoes, onions, and garlic without compromising on taste. Conclusion: All in all, Curry in Hurry went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. The food was not only delicious and true to its roots but was also presented in an appealing manner that enhanced our experience. We are regular customers at their restaurant location and this catering experience has only deepened our appreciation of their dedication to quality and service. I highly recommend Binta Patel's Curry in Hurry for any event catering or even a simple meal out. They truly embody the flavors of India!
I've never had a better thali... and I mean all of them! I've had both weekend and weekday thalis and the flavors are just phenomenal. I've also had quite a few other things on the menu and they're all delicious. This is definitely my go to place for amazing Indian food. And the prices are great!
Curry in Hurry is located inside Gandhi Bazar Indian Stores. Totally love their food and less price. Love their chat items , meals , sweets and other preparations. For a very less price they give very good meals . Chat items are very good . So if you plan for a grocery shopping at Gandhi Bazar , you can have your chat and shop too 😁😁😁
Holy hidden gem! I feel like I got transported to an Indian grandma's house for some home cookin! I'm not even vegetarian but the food has so much flavor I somehow didn't even miss the meat 🤤 the chai tea and desserts were a nice sweet finish as well. I recommend getting the Thali dishes, you get so much variety and they change depending on the day. The young lady at the register did a fantastic job of explaining each dish and what they're like too. Authenticity 💯/💯
Nice chat shop/thali restaurant located in Research blvd. Its located within the Gandhi bazaar store next to Lakeline mall. They serve thali in afternoon and both chat& thali in evening. They are freshly prepared. Compared chat items in other stores, chat i. Chai and coffee are disappointment as its mentioned as filter coffee in menu but instant coffee was served so reduced a star. Evening are crowded and expect a wait time for orders. If you looking only got chat items then its a recommended place. #HappyDining
I had gujarati thali in lunch, it was served with 3 curries, kadhi, rice, shrikhand, frymes, chaas, samosa. While roti was good, shrikhand i found bit stale, potato sbzi was having too much sourness, frymes were not fried properly they were. Only best thing i like in thali was chaas, and samosa. Food 2.5/5 Atmosphere:2.5/5 Service: 2/5
I ordered Samosa. After waiting 10 min. Reaching home, I found they were ice cold. Dhokla was stale Such a pathetic experience
We ordered food to go but had to wait like 5-7 mins for someone to come even take our order, ended up getting the cashier from the store side to take our order! The food is just awful! Ordered vada pav with chutneys on the side- no coriander chutney was provided! Worse off the vadas were old and fried again and burnt and super greasy!! The vada pav was just a super greasy vada and super greasy buns nothing else!! Disgusting! Ordered bhel and chole chaat and both were blah! Again asked for coriander chutney on the side for both of those and None was provided!! Curry in Hurry used to be better! We were the only customers in there and they still messed up the order!! So disappointed!!
Very money minded. They had a stall at the Round Rock Diwali and had samosas on the menu. I waited in the line since I wanted samosas for my kid and although they still had samosas left, the cashier refushed to provide samosas and insisted that I can have samosa chat instead, which the kid cannot have as it's spicy. Just so they can make $2 dollars extra by selling samosa chaat, he refused to sell samosas. And on top of that, he suggested that he has cheetos which the kid can have. Is that a better and healthier alternative? She kept asking for samosas later, such a disappointing experience. They did this for $2, so I wonder what they must be doing in their kitchen for cost cutting and being so money minded. Stay away. I would recommend not to go at all. Poor customer treatment.
Absolutely disgraceful. First of all, the person at the counter was careless about taking orders and had no knowledge about the food. He was busy with his laptop. Next, we order Punjabi thali which suppose to have biryani as their menu say so, but guess what? I am posting the picture of the thali, that's like waxing people. Food quality average, still room to improve. If management is reading my review, please instruct your employee to keep the table clean after each customer leaves.
They served 2days back Idly With stinking smell and frozen Poori. No at all fresh food and I even returned all my food. I ordered food on the name on viral they can even call me I have all the proofs even my kid noticed the taste of food where they bite of idly tasted by kid just imagine the health of kids and your twice before ordering and eating food here!!!! I even requested returning all the food for replacement management there is just rude and not at all responsible about customer service and health they are just looting for no cost!!!!
I have become conscious of leaving negative reviews, as their effect could be detrimental to jobs. So apologies in advance. I HATED this place and will never go back again. I'm ready to look past the decor as I've eaten better food in bad looking places (like oak tree in edison n)j, but at THIS place every single thing was horrible tasting, no flavor. We ate on a day when I was craving good Indian food so it made me feel worse. We tried the punjabi thaali - How can u get the basic daal wrong? Chapati, wrong! We tried the chole bhatura, no taste in the chana, oiliest bhaturas! we tried the samosa chaat. I have eaten the "curry in a hurry" in New York, which is on a different level, and way better tasting food. Oh btw this is veg only (fyi) I saw some non Indian customers walk around picking dirty dishes from tables so they could sit and eat. And I just realized i cannot stand the sight if styrofoam plates and cups. I relied on the other 4 star reviews, which should actually be a 1 star. Oh god, please save this place.
