I love mexican and tex mex food a lot. Ive lived here 26 years and ive had a lot of it too. My point is that i dont give this compliment lightly: This is hands down my favorite mexican restaurant in town, maybe just my favorite restaurant in general. Everything is affordable food is amazing staff is super nice and the servings as well as the margaritas are HUGE for a shockingly low price. Larger and better tacos and margaritas than taco cabana and theyre CHEAPER. Never had a bad experience here after probably about 30 total visits and online orders. They once had a technical issue w one item getting recieved wrong on the online system but when i mentioned it they remade my order in less than 10 minutes and still gave me the one that was wrong. 11/10 best staff best service best drinks best (and biggest and cheapest) tacos in town. I recommend anything with chorizo any of the quesadillas and all of the breakfast tacos/plates. Cant go wrong and youll get 2 days of food for like $10.

These tacos were so full of flavor. We tried pork, chicken, beef, and beef tongue. Very delicious 😋. Waitress was pleasant. Quick service. Cute little restaurant.

This place is genuinely SO cute and quaint. A very nice and chill spot to come and get some (afternoon) breakfast tacos after work. And they are SOOOO good. Easily some of the best mexican food in the area. Also highly recommend the Tortilla Soup - there's literally nothing better if you're feeling a bit under the weather. Tl;dr: Staff is very friendly and warm, ambience is quaint and welcoming, food is easy 10 stars.

I've been meaning to review this place for a while. We come here nearly every weekend because the breakfast is great but very inexpensive. Frankly, I don't know how they turn a profit with their prices. The tacos are awesome, the staff is friendly. I agree with many here that the service is not always stellar; there is somewhat of a language barrier so that may add to it, but I am going to call that a wash due to the waitresses being consistently friendly and the prices being very low. With a family of 5 I always get out of there for under 20 bucks. That is unheard of. Also, the kids love the little toy and sticker machines so everyone is consistently happy when we leave. Win, win, win.

Went to my favorite breakfast place in Austin to get my birthday started off the right way. I've been coming to this location for the past 14 years and not one time has the staff ever let me down. How many places in Austin can you say that about? Not very many I'm guessing. Stop in and grab some breakfast tacos one morning, you won't be disappointed.

Really solid Tex-Mex. This is our go-to for quick, casual Mexican food. I will generally get the plato Tex-Mex. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff is always really kind. I am constantly blown away at how good the chili con carne is. I don't know what they do to give it the smoky undertone, but it is absolutely delicious. The enchiladas are fantastic, the crispy taco is huge and delicious, and I always enjoy chatting with the wait staff. There's a very homey feel to it. It's one of our favorite Tex-Mex joints.

Great food and they made it fast. The margaritas are amazing. My wife fell in a bush on the way out. Oh and the music was hitting all the jams. You will not be disappointed.

I came here for Sunday dinner with the family. The food here is really flavorful, and the service is quick. They also serve breakfast with a special on 3 tacos for $5.99 between 6 am thru 11 am.

I love their food. They are a quiet neighborhood restaurant with friendly staff. I hope they survive the pandemic. I love their salsa and highly recommend their tostadas

This place was great. They have great tacos and bonus points for cheap margs. You can get an XL marg (which is huge) for $10. Great place to grab a couple tacos with a friend and grab a marg for cheap. The aesthetic of the restaurant is perfect although it was not super lively when I went (on a weeknight).

The restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine, and I tried the chorizo and egg dish paired with a side of potatoes—it was absolutely delicious! This is a busy place on the weekends. Good food and good service. For some reason paying is a long process where you will have to take your ticket to he register or go up to it with out it. The ake and flan are from somewhere else. This is a good place for nachos. The prices are in the higher side.

I enjoy breakfast at this location. Portions are huge and very well priced. There breakfast tacos are my favorite. I get egg, bacon, potato, cheese, and avocado. I add oregano, salt and pepper and their green sauce...fantastic! It is as big as a burrito and I can only eat one. The great thing is that it costs a little over $3 if you buy before 11am.

Great food at awesome prices. Google says it's "permanently closed," but that's gotta be competitor sabotage. They are open and open late. Service is very friendly, though can be a little inaccurate (so ask your server to repeat your order back to you). At these prices and food quality though, I'll let that slide. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed this place. The burritos are big and also stuffed with a lot of fresh vegetables and avocado. In my opinion it is the best fajita burrito around. The rice is always good too. Best green sauce in town if you like it tangy. Plus, chips and salsa included. It's what a Mexican restaurant should be. It's a no-frills place to get a good meal and head back to work. While I was there I saw a lot of people who work in construction and landscaping getting to-go orders. Probably because the price is fair and the quantity is above average.

Don’t expect to come here to for excellent service or a cute ambiance. This place is a thrown together a hole in the wall but it’s got its little food treasures that are very good and most of the food is freshly made. The fajita tacos taste quite authentic and delicious. I was not a fan of the pastor meat, almost like the taste and texture were off which is a shame because I do love pastor.

Decided to try this little spot. The windows were festively painted and it looked interesting. We cam in for breakfast, ordering chips and queso, chorizo migas, been and bacon taco and chorizo and been taco. The atmosphere felt more like a fast food spot, not a come and relax and enjoy restaurant. Pay at the counter after your meal. The wait staff didn’t check on us, we were good but just sharing. The chips and queso were good. We asked for sala verde as well and it had great flavor. The salsa tasted roasted and was good. The beans were good, they tasted home made and so were the flour tortillas. The chorizo is a brown recipe vs the red recipe I’m use to. The plate came with potatoes and we asked for them to be cooked to golden which they were and tasted good. The overall flavor of the meal was good.

This is a little diamond in the rough. The Mexican shrimp cocktail is the best in the area and a reasonable price. It's a working man's restaurant. It's truly a authentic restaurant. The ladies are nice. I haven't tried the other items but the restaurant has a bunch of take out orders.

Stopped by here to have a late lunch/early dinner with the Husband. There were not that many customers there when we arrived so we were seated quickly. We were brought out menus and some Chips and Salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa ok. The older waitress comes out to get our order, and she doesn't look happy lol. I am not sure what was going on but that scowl! After our food arrived - in a timely manner - we both dug in as we were both hungry. We were thankful for the quantity of food and began enjoying the quality. We ordered: Carne Guisada Torta - My hubby is a big fan of Carne Guisada but not when it has too much gravy so he was pleasantly surprised when his Torta came out to him with the Carne Guisada having the perfect amount of gravy to meat ratio. He said the bread was fresh and so were the veggies. The Torta was huge and very filling. Cheese Enchiladas with Green Sauce - Pretty straight forward Tex Mex meal. The green sauce was tangy and delicious. The cheese is the white cheese and it was warm and melty. The rice and beans were ok. All in all a good meal. This restaurant was clean and we saw other patrons with smiles on their faces from their friendly wait staff, unfortunately our waitress was just having a bad day I think. The food is good here, nothing to write home about - but good none the less. If you haven't been here before, try it out and see for yourself how you like it. We will probably be back.

I really love their breakfast tacos and jalapeño salsa. But the tortillas are nothing out of the ordinary and they taste prepackaged. The other downside is the that the drive through takes so long. I’ve been sitting here for 30 minutes which is why I’m writing this review. Tip: order ahead and give them plenty of time for the food to be ready.

I don't know, but the meat was kind of hard. I have ordered carne asada before... there was some young waitress more interested in her cell phone. Then asking me if I ever need anything...? Who knows Maybe it was One of Those days..? I have better experience in that Place before.

Had Gordita especial Plato. Everything was safe, not bad but was looking for bold flavor especially from the barbacoa. Pastor for charred it places too. Nice spot and excellent staff. I'll give it another try soon. I did like the fresh salsa Verde and the habanero kept at the table.

Chips were a little stale but the nachos and salsa was delicious. We ordered the fajita for one and there was barely any meat.. the chicken was sliced so thin I couldn't tell if it was a piece of onion or chicken. Lastly on the service, I didn't like fact that someone in our party needed to use the restroom but the server said we couldn't because she already cleaned it. They closed at 10 and it was just 930. Not sure if I would go back. The taste was ok.

Food was excellent. Service was lacking. I waited for 20 minutes after finishing my meal for a waitress to come over to ask for a drink and the check. Got the check. No drink. Waited another 15 for her to come back for payment. Never came. It doesn't say anywhere, and they do not tell you that you need to go to the counter to pay. But that's what I did, just to continue my day. Still without a drink. 5 stars for food, one star for service. 3 stars.

We were 4 in our party and charged 20% gratuity. Normally., I’ve known it to be 6 or more in order to be charged gratuity. Food was good, service started off ehh then got better. Overall mediocre.

No warning that their "Enchiladas Tapatia" use flour tortillas. I checked the menu online and i swear i double read the menu in store but this is what was served. They are so heavy and texturally, just not the call. Shredded chicken, wrapped in flour tortillas, and covered in queso. The flour tortilla soaks up the queso making sticky and soggy. This could have been pretty tasty if it were on corn. I called them to politely ask if this was correct because as stated, I didn't see it listed with flour tortillas anywhere online. She said the Tapatia comes that way 😦. I thought thier menudo was pretty solid the first time I ate there in the restaurant, but if this is their namesake enchliadas, i think my money is going elsewhere. Enchiladas Tapatia $15 and change plus tip 🥲

I love my fajitas, and the beef at this place has no taste at all. There's a lot of it, but it's hard to finish because there's no taste. It is not grilled, it doesn't taste like it's grilled. It's not seasoned.

I didn't try any meals but the chelada was so cold and delicious. Definitely going back for another one. Service was odd, the lady looked upset or something. It made me feel uncomfortable but I decided to ignore it. Place looked clean and comfortable.

Have tried this restaurant and their food is decent. Once you get a seat and look up the ceilings there’s very little maintenance, if ever. I can only question the state of their kitchen if their dinner is gross. They even have shoe lazes to hold the a/c ducts :-). Too dirty for me to patronize. If they would clean up, will gladly become a regular...

Breakfast or the lack there of was really disappointing. First off I don't eat meat cheese and dairy so it already would not be my first choice of places to go but I have friends who like this place. Last time I at least managed to have breakfast tacos with grilled peppers and onions which was good enough. Unfortunately today they don't even have potatoes so it was kind of a disaster for me.

After we been going there tipping great. They act like they don't know us. We still tipped.

First, la tapatia off hero way is one of our favorite places, so we had high expectations of this location. Apparently, it was bring your toddler to work day, and on the one hand, I like to see an employer be understanding when a mom has no place to take their child. On the other hand, he was adorable but completely unchecked, and it did get a little disruptive. Most importantly, the food just wasn't good. My wife and I ordered the Tex Mex( 1 crispy taco a tostada and two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. ) and the shells were stale, the rice was dry, and the ENTIRE plate was swimming in at least a 1/2 inch of grease. Which made the crunch things soggy on one-half and stale on the other. The place itself is small and feels very "mom and pop," but that's ok. We don't mind that at all. The music was a but too loud. Service was mostly accurate, friendly, and prompt. We won't go back to this location. :/

This place was one of my go-to for breakfast tacos. The portion was great the food was great until TODAY! I placed an order of 6 tacos and a Mexican coke. Long story short I found a dead roach in my taco. I called immediately the restaurant and spoke with a lady who told me the manager will call me back. Well, 2 hours passed, and nothing. Finally, I get this lady by the name of ALMA BOTLLO, she claimed to be the manager/owner of the restaurant. Her professionalism is beyond disgusting. ALMA didn't care about the fact that I found a roach in the taco that I bought at her restaurant. She gave me the option of refunding my money or not after I take her the tacos back to her, assuming that I might be lying. I have never been treated this way ever and for her being an owner it's mind-blowing she is one. I don't leave reviews, I don't care to get a callback. I need everyone to know this is the service she and her staff provide to customers. I definitely will not return to this place, my family and friend will not be stepping in one ever.

We live around the area and everything we choose to order here it never fails. Bad service! Bad attitude if we ask for more salsa, asking if we’ve paid. Less and less cheese on the tacos, they use a plastic in the breakfast tacos that makes a mess. And the quality of what it use to be has completely gone down the drain. Whoever’s running this location has done poorly and let the restaurant go down the drain go to another location. This one sucks and so do they staff. So stingy with the sauce no cheese on my tacos so annoying

First time customer, last time customer. I wanted to like this little local place, and the lady's working it were very nice, if not so good. My iced tea tasted so bad that pouring sugar in it would not help, and there was no where near enough ice as it all melted right after being put on the table and it was still between warm and hot. The straw was SHORTER than the cup, so useless (Took Picture). The 3 taco plate was horrible. First, most of the components did not even make it into the taco, they were between the shells. The shells were chewy. The meat burnt and not very tasty. Two of the taco shells were broken in half before it even made it to my table. The refried beans had a strange fermented flavor. I ended up not eatting much of any of it. They had a 30.07 sign, a negative. And oddly, they brought a bowl of salsa to my table, but no chips.

Waitresses need improvement , looks like they are more interested in their own gossip then attending their customers. Service sucks

My last time dirty place and bad food

Never going back to this place, past few times we’ve been the food is not up to restaurant standards. We gave them another chance and they failed us again. My husband and I got there at 6 (when they opened) thinking we were going to get a fresh food. The food was dry and no flavor. The food was more like a reheat meat. Not to mention the cook was late.

They scammed us out of our money when they charged us extra for food we didn't order and then charged us a 15% tip that we didn't authorized (even tho my sister in law tipped them already) and then when I tried to correct their mistake of a $20 overage they refused to acknowledge it and give us our money back. Horrible customer service even when she realized her mistake by adding up on the calculator she didn't want to give us our money back. If you do go make sure you check your receipt! They will scam you! Keep up with your order yourself!! No telling how many ppl they have done this too and didn't know they got scammed!!

Just walked out I will never be back poor food quality microwave bacon was not crisp hamburger was so charred it was disgusting loaded baked potato adding a dollar for bacon with very sparse bacon and it was not even hot done should really close

Service was non existent. The 30mins it took me to eat my food. Server never came and asked how it was, refill or nothing. I had to go find her and tell her I was ready to go. I was her only table too! One of the workers little 4 year old kid was running around screaming the whole time also. Won't be going back.

I've been eating here for 15 years! Never in my life have I paid $57 for 8 tacos and a Hibiscus Tea. 4 Asada 2 barbacoa 2 bean an cheese!They definitely didn't know how to properly use a register or do simple math! REDULIOUS!
