We accidentally ended up at In Plain Sight while looking for Here Nor There and what a happy accident it was! We met Chad, the bartender, and honestly, what a legend. We ended up staying for a few cocktails because he was such a great lad. Coming from Sydney, Australia, we thought we were spoilt for choice when it came to drinks, but the cocktails here were on a whole new level, smooth, balanced, and absolutely delicious. The bar itself is tiny (fits about 16 people), which makes for such an intimate, cozy experience. We even got chatting to a group of locals next to us. It’s such a rare and wonderful thing to walk into a bar and instantly feel part of a community. Chad really set the tone for that; his passion for what he does was just beautiful to see. If I ever make it back to Austin, I’ll 100% be back. Thanks for a fantastic night, Chad. It’s one we’ll remember for a lifetime!

Finally got a chance to visit last night - the bar had always been on my radar as a regular patron of Here Nor There but I had never been before. The bar is great! Despite the small space it still felt roomy enough for our party of four and the aesthetics of the bar are beautiful. Got to taste about half of the available menu and the range of flavors within the cocktails were incredible - would highly recommend on a night out

Amazing little place. A real mixologist behind the bar who seems to have report with just about everyone. A genuine atmosphere with an unimaginable wealth of drinks at your fingertips. We had three of the best mixed cocktails in Austin and didn’t feel cramped or rushed. Absolutely a place to go if you are starting out your night. 💯

My favorite bar in all of Austin. I wish I could keep this gem all to myself, but I was raised to share hehe The bartenders are spectacular. Angela is so personable, kind, authentic, and thoughtful in her work. I love talking to her when I visit and I always leave with something insightful to share about bartending, drinks, etc. She always makes the experience so great for me and all the guests I bring over. Although it is a smaller space to fit in, it feels so cozy and elevated. You can either stand if the stools are already taken or sit in the chairs right in front of the entrance. They have a great playlist so the vibes are always immaculate and their rainbow lights make everything feel vibrant and playful. Now, on to their menu. Their menu is so interactive - it helps you choose drinks based off of your taste and what you are craving (categorizing drinks by their sweetness, sourness, etc). Their drinks are absolutely insane. I have never tried cocktails that feel so crafted to perfection as the ones that they make here. They have seasonal flavors as well as their classics, giving you the option to explore new cocktails or delve into the comfort of the classics. If you want to venture off menu, there is absolutely no problem either. My recommendation, ask Angela for an incognito shot. It’s a vermouth apricot shot that I sip because of how good it is. Do not miss out on going here. But also… don’t go too much so there’s space for us all. Thank you in plain sight for making Austin an even better place to be :)

Fantastic! I had a drink called Open Sesame that was perfect! My friend ordered a Tom Collins with a Japanese gin and it was so incredibly delicious! I recommend to all of my friends. It’s a small space with about 8 seats at the bar but it’s great to stop and have a quick drink or two while you’re out and about.

I went to Here Nor There back in 2019 and really enjoyed my experience there. When i heard there they had opened a sister bar that didnt require hoops to jump through to get a drink at i figured it be worth checking out. I finally had my chance after seeing Purity Ring at a venue downtown, just walking distance to In Plain Sight. We walked in, was pleasantly greeted by the bartender. The place is small and i personally like the lighting. The bartender was very nice. As others have said, some cocktails could have a little a little more liquid in those glasses, but what are served is a solid cocktail. I believe i ordered something similar to an old fashioned and a boiler maker. I enjoyed my time at this small, cute, and colorful bar.

Atmosphere: 9/10 As the name says - located "in plain sight" :) A very cute and tiny, colorful bar with only 8 seats (+ some standing spots). The rainbow theme is executed throughout the whole concept. Very social setting - engages everyone in the bar to talk to each other. Nice backbar. Pleasant music volume Drinks: 9/10 Recommendation: Green Reviver #2 Awesome cocktail menu design - aligned to the rainbow theme. The drinks are well-balanced and have good flavor. Clean but nice presentation. Good quality glassware. They also use the compressed CO2 machine for a perfect chillness of the glasses before serving. Nice coasters Service: 7.5/10 Very nice bartender (only 1 person serving the tiny room). Water served on the spot. Prices are average for Austin Perfect spot if you're on the waitlist to get into "Here Nor There" or other cocktail bars in proximity

This is a hidden gem. 8 seats and room for 8 more to stand. Quiet, dark, and perfect. If you want an intimate experience with a true cocktail artist, this is the place. The drinks were perfection and the vibe was exactly what we wanted.

Amazing drinks and the bartender is chatty so good bar for good talk. All the drinks are strong and tasty. Good for date if y'all don't mind people listening around you.
