Opinions de Foxhole Culinary Tavern Austin
My wife and I stopped by for some cocktails and a bite to eat. Ethan, our bartender, mixologist and server was great. He suggested a meal, the wood-fired chicken Milano, that was fantastic! We also has a pork belly taco for Happy Hour. Cocktails were on point. My wife came up with some off-the-wall drink concoctions that Ethan crafted into delicious and refreshing offerings. I tried a couple different Old Fashioned options. They have an extensive bourbon collection that range from the most common to allocated bottles worthy of the most discerning taste. For a Sunday night, the bar seating is where it's at. We had a great time. Met some nice folks and enjoyed our evening. Always consistent and wonderful. Give them a try if you haven't already.
My husband and I went on a date this evening (without 2/3 of our kiddos) and really loved this place. Our server was attentive, polite, present, friendly, and knowledgeable, we ordered the Brussels Sprouts and Texas Queso appetizers (the queso and chips were top notch!), Wood Fired Steak Sandwich & Ahi Tuna and Salmon Crudo as our main meal and the Butterscotch bread pudding as dessert all of which was absolutely delicious! We tried a few different drinks- Watermelon-Lavender Martini, Wicked Behavior, Foxy Mule, Red Oak, Atx Margarita, Tropical Fluff, and La Pina Fashioned (the last 2 we weren't big on). The vibe is chill upscale-ish and the atmosphere is tasteful. One thing to note- they even have a changing table in the men's restroom! We will be returning!
It's refreshing to find a menu that isn't a copy/paste from many other restaurants! It's a little on the pricier side, but you get what you paid for. My favorite was the bacon-wrapped quail, but there's a lot of menu items I'm itching you try so that may change. Service was also good, and the dining area was spacious.
My wife and I happened upon this great place while looking for a place to have breakfast/brunch. We were blown away by the friendly service, great food, refreshing beverages and great atmosphere. My wife ordered the Eastside Hipster and I opted for the Foxhole Sunrise Deluxe. Both were great, well seasoned and great portions. I also had a $4 pineapple/cranberry mimosa! It was very refreshing 😌! Myranda gave us excellent service 👏. We will definitely be back!
A little on the expensive side, but I’ll go bankrupt before I stop going here. Whether you’re looking for a decent meal and a drink or a culinary experience, Foxhole never disappoints. One of my all time favorite entrees, which you must try, is the Chicken Roulade Saltimboca. Serrano ham, sage, fontina, truffle pecorino stuffed breast, sundried tomato risotto, grilled asparagus, and piquillo-pancetta mornay come together in perfect balance and harmony. I’ve honestly never had anything like it. Give it a shot and enjoy the experience/journey that is this dish! Other items to consider are the Grilled Scottish Salmon (an explosion of flavor), the Tavern Salad (love the dressing!), the Venison-Smoked Meatballs (smoked with hints of spice), and the Venison Meatloaf. Also, make sure to take advantage of their cozy patio if the whether allows! Update: they retired the dish. They update their menu every six months. Womp Womp.
Really enjoy this place, and our server "D" is great. As well as our sweet hostess. Always impressed with their food and happy hour | brunch offerings. The only area of opportunity I see is service is sooooooooo slooooow. This isn't about specifically D, everytime I'm there it is really slow. Nothing wrong with not being pushy and letting guests have time to enjoy. The tempo may need to be sped up a smidge.
Very personable and attentive staff with accents that express the open minded modern life. Menu from chef created dishes to satisfy both exploring flavor pallets and comfort cravings. Tyler was amazing, excellent attentive and supportive manner with a listening ear. The owners and chef really support the experience and staff. Italian wedding soup is amazing, the crisp wedge salad added perfectly cooked steak makes the meal one to savor over and over.
We’ve had the pleasure of being served by Marco on several occasions, and every single time he delivers the great drinks and especially the perfect margarita. His attention to balance and flavor makes each one exceptional—smooth, refreshing, and spot-on. Honestly, they’re even better than the award-winning margaritas at Matt’s El Rancho in Austin, which says a lot! What sets Marco apart is not only the quality of his drinks but also his consistent service and welcoming personality. He always makes sure our experience is top-notch, and that keeps us coming back. Marco is truly the gold standard when it comes to margaritas and hospitality.
Always truly 5 star worthy. I never understand why this place isn’t more busy. The food is awesome, prices make sense for the quality, great service every time, cool vibe.
We went to Foxhole Culinary Tavern last night for a double date and had such a great time! The food was amazing!! I had the Wood-Fired Airline Chicken and my husband had the Texas Redfish, both were delicious. Our drinks were spot on, and our waiter D was so warm and friendly, which really made the experience even better. The only thing was when we first got there, no one was at the host stand and even with a reservation we had to wait a few minutes. Not a big deal though, because once we were seated everything was wonderful. We’ll definitely be coming back!
The food offers as array of delicious dishes suitable for everyone. I enjoyed a filet with okra. The have a red wine butter that goes great as a spread over its bread. I also tried the chili. It’s like a frito pie and very filling. The sangria made from red wine wasn’t too sweet or bitter, but it was just right. The steak was charred just right. Oh and you won’t be disappointed with the dessert menu.
I just recently moved to the Austin area from Minnesota and I couldn't recommend this place more! The food was gorgeous and portioned perfectly. The atmosphere is so cozy and cabin-like. I used to favor this small farm-to-table restaurant in Two Harbors, MN, but Foxhole is now #1 in my book.
We arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. There was a 30-45 minute wait for a table for 2. Luckily, we were able to grab a high top table in the open seating area of the bar. We had the Texas Trio and a dozen oysters for appetizers, followed by the Redfish and bacon wrapped shrimp for our main. The jalapeno cheese grits with crawfish tails in a cream sauce was the highlight of my entreé. I would easily recommend this restaurant for higher end fare in a laid back environment. I wish it was open later than 9pm for late night drinks and bites.
To start, I always want to support the idea of using fresh & local- our amazingly diverse Texas can almost do it all❣️💖 I love patios- theirs is beautiful & chill, and to save a few bucks I hit HH for eats & treats, but they have an excellent dinner menu.(this recession is making it tough to go out😟) My daughter & I really enjoyed the chicken ( Cluck Rogers) flatbread pizza-so delish, Gulf oysters were big & fresh. Deviled eggs (Bagel & lox) were a bit too complicated, we liked the dill aioli sauce better than the filling. I would suggest no smoky meat, I prefer a more simple traditional egg, a good egg doesn't need a whole lotta stuff in it! Steak fries, more like potato planks, were pretty awesome, love presentation & good sharable. Drinks were nice, Dirty Texan with those salty olives was a hit, it'd be cool to have a big size in a shaker, like Mexican martini style. And, Froze/rose`was refreshing but maybe more rose, less ice?!?! Waiter Austin patiently took great care of us, and had good suggestions. I'm glad FoxHole survived the pandemic mess, we really enjoyed this place!
Spur of the moment dinner out, great for a date night! The service was swift and on point, lots of great recommendations, and the food was excellent. The quail with the chili jam was a win, for sure. Will definitely be going back for that one, and also looking forward to seeing what future menus have to offer.
Was my first time to the restaurant and Scott was very attentive and helpful in providing a seamless experience. My burger was well done and I ordered medium; Scott had the order remade and it was delicious! Marco the bartender made delicious drinks! Will return
This place was really good! The drinks, food and desert were amazing!!! The butterscotch bread pudding is a must try!
The food was amazing! If you're looking a change for your tastebuds , the talent here really hits the spot. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed; leaving my toddler feeling welcomed and accommodated for. Our server was amazing. They were knowledgeable of the menu and offered just the right amount of hospitality.
Foxhole is a great chophouse style restaurant. The crab cake is honestly best I’ve had outside of Maryland (I’m from Baltimore). Oysters are fresh. The burger is outstanding. Steaks are seared crispy and melt-in-your mouth tender. The service is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is cozy in the dining room, lively around the bar, and grown-up throughout... Despite the name, it’s not a ‘gentleman’s club.’ If you haven’t visited, go, seriously. Bring your significant other, you’ll have a fantastic meal.
We got in just in time before the dinner crowd and grabbed a table near the bar, first time here. We ordered the salmon and a burger with fries, and wow, that's some very delicious food! If you come during happy hour, there are great deals to try out (which judging from the neighbors around us, looked amazing!) We were too full from dinner but next time, I will try to make room for dessert! (Another recommendation from a neighbor.) It was very crowded and loud, but other than that, we were pleased to give this place a go! We'll probably invite friends along the next time!
Had a Filet Steak Frites from the lunch menu with my wife, daughter, and dog on the patio. Great atmosphere, service, and incredibly reasonable price. We had a super time. Will definitely be returning.
Pleasantly surprised. Much nicer inside than expected. Quick service, food came out in 10 minutes. Bloody mary was strong. Eastside Hipster skillet for brunch was one of my favorites in town. Would definitely come back.
Food was absolutely fabulous. The House Burger with its mixture of brisket, chuck and tenderloin. Was splendidly done. Edged potatoes perfectly seasoned. Pretzels was a fun snack while waiting. My colleague had the Venison Birria Grilled Cheese. That looked amazing and yes I stole a bite.
Met here with a bunch of healthcare peeps to network and grow relationships. It worked out great as there is plenty of room between tables so we could be a little loud and move around with it being an issue. Food is great, and the shareable items come out quickly and easy to eat. Perfect amount of lighting. Creates an intimate vibe but not too dark.
The lobster tots were amazing 10/10. Service was kind of slow, had to wait 15-20 minutes for our check once we finished eating. not sure the reasoning as it didn’t seem super busy but I noticed other tables with similar frustrations. Could’ve just been a bad day- the food was really good and staff were still friendly.
I came here with my husband for brunch - we arrived as soon as the place opened, so I got a good shot of the place while still empty. Our waiter was Eric and he was a delight! He was attentive, enthusiastic about the food, gave us awesome recommendations and made me feel like I need to come back for more. We tried the Salmon Omelet and the Chow Down. Very different flavors, but both really good. We had the Pineapple Cake for dessert and I think it's a must have! The Mimosa was great, not too much Orange juice. I had a wonderful experience from food to service, including ambiance and will definitely come back. Not sure about lunch/dinner, but brunch was reasonably priced.
We visited on a Friday night for dinner. There was a wait but it wasn't too long and you can order drinks at the bar while you wait. The bar layout is a bit annoying as there is no good way to order drinks when the bar is full. The service at the table was impeccable, wonderfully attentive and friendly. We ordered the calamari and potato soup to start. Both were well seasoned and flavorful. My wife ordered the shrimp and lobster roll which had a good balance of meat and bread. I ordered the pork chop, which had a small wait but was totally worth it. Really full of robust flavor and a great crusty outside. Would recommend.
It was amazing the menus are seasonal so don’t follow the google menus and or the website go in person!! It may all be similar but they cook according to the season!! Also if you like fresh cracked pepper this is the place for you almost everything is peppery!! I had the Ahi Tuna BLT it was spicy and good cooked a an amazing temp and delivered to the table in a timely manner. We had a wedge salad and the famous Godiva chocolate cake with Mexican cinnamon ice cream we had the macaroni it’s to die for the cheeses are amazing and high quality!! The whole table was pleased. It is beautiful presentation as well. Don’t be afraid to ask for extra sauce from your waitress or even trade sauces out for things that come with sauce. Just enjoy and be open to new things. The prices are relative to the quality of food you will receive. Make the reservations early enough to get a seat and for staff to prepare to serve you well.
Very interesting seasonal menu. At my last few visits I had: stuffed quail breast, steak tartare, venison meatloaf, and Australian lamb shank. All were superb, and much of it was sourced locally. Several creative and tasty cocktails. Service was attentive and personable; server D had some excellent recommendations.
I don’t know who loves this place more, me or my wife. The food is beyond excellent, it is consistently very very good. We eat at Foxhole two or three times a week and everyone waiting on us knows our favorite dish. Incredible memory! Darrell is on top of it. He is great. The staff listens to anything you’re asking for that’s special to you. This is the place you can come to regularly and the staff treats you like family. I’m not a paid influencer or related to any employee, just an appreciative long-time customer. :)
From the drinks to the end, everything was great. The pork belly appetizer was so delicious I wanted to buy another. The burger can be intimidating as you look at how big it is but it’s pretty easy to eat. The service was really nice and we had a great time. We are definitely coming back to try the other items in their menu.
We come here once every weekend for brunch. We usually sit at the bar but occasionally at a table. Service has always been great no matter where we sit. I like their seasonal menu and selection: just enough to keep you coming to try new dishes but not too many to distract you from making a choice. Mimosa service is priced reasonably. We will continue to visit.
This place is so good! I got a burger and my husband got mac and cheese. The adult beverages were also tasty, fresh, and not watered down. Our server Austin was very kind and made sure to take good care of us. With the kitchen and bar closing about 45 minutes or so after we got our dinner he made sure we didn’t miss out on our last round and dessert! —sorry I forgot to take pictures before eating lol
Food was absolutely amazing. Best steak I've had in a year and a half living in Texas. Calamari and brussel sprouts were our appetizers and they were both great. Waiter was a little odd, dunno if it was just him or because we were two guys out for a birthday dinner. Other than that it was a great experience.
I’ve lived in cedar park for 7 years and just visited for Valentine’s Day for the first time tonight. My only regret was not coming here sooner. The food is legit. Pretty reasonably priced for higher end execution across a strong menu. The mussels were one of the smartest mussel dishes I’ve had with western flavors and great tasting fresh PEI mussels. The pork chop had gorgeous presentation and was cooked perfectly. The steak and mash were great. The Brussels were good but could have gone farther with an avocado or cilantro crema. The chef in me is making that one recommendation, but seriously it was a great meal. The Manhattan with the Vanilla was a great twist and well presented.
This place was quiet on a Monday night which made it easy to talk with my fiancé over dinner. I love being able to converse with my dinner company over the meal—some places are too loud to comfortably do that. The food was a bit pricey but well worth it. The visual appeal of the dishes was top notch but both of them tasted even better than they looked. I would absolutely go here again and look forward to experiencing more of the menu. I was thrilled with my ahi tuna salad and enjoyed my bite of my fiancé’s house burger.
It was more casual than I expected, but that could just be the Austin aesthetic. The food was exquisite. The waiter made sure to let us know it’s a scratch kitchen and accommodations can be made, he even checked if there were any allergies they needed to be aware of- I haven’t even received service like that at the highest end restaurants in the biggest cities. The portions are perfect and it tasted like someone’s grandmama was back there putting it together. Can’t say enough good things. There’s outdoor and indoor seating depending on what you’re looking for.
After driving past this place countless times, I finally decided to stop in and I’m so glad I did. The ambience was great, and our server D was phenomenal: attentive, and friendly. The food had amazing flavor and tasted fresh, and service was quick from start to finish. Overall, we had a great experience and I’d definitely come back
My husband and I went for a Sunday brunch and we were pleasantly suprised to see a three piece jazz group. I had the Wedding soup and wedge salad and both were delish. My husband really enjoyed his hamburger. I have been many times for lunch or HH before but not for brunch. We highly recommend
What a hidden gem within Austin! Absolutely, this place is awesome! From the serving sizes to exquisite meals that are full portioned at a good price. The Tex-Mex nachos and the eggs Benedict were on point, but nothing compared to the chili crisp double eggs…. Just yum! Our children love the kids menu. We are specifically coming back to Austin have those deviled eggs again. On a final note, they have the best price for brunch mimosa. My family and I just loved it here!
Foxhole Culinary Tavern: Foxhole Culinary Tavern offers a modern take on classic American comfort food with a creative twist. The menu features elevated dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including craft cocktails and an impressive beer selection. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a rustic yet contemporary vibe that’s perfect for casual dining or a night out with friends. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. Many diners praise the flavorful dishes, generous portions, and cozy atmosphere. A great spot for those who appreciate quality food in a laid-back setting.
I recently visited Foxhole Culinary Tavern and had a fantastic evening. The wood-fired tenderloin and stuffed Lockhart quail breast were standout — beautifully cooked, flavorful, and presented with care. Their appetizer of kung pao calamari was a fun twist, and I loved the Cajun risotto tots for a creative side. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between upscale and approachable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and happy to walk me through the menu. Their bar also shines — solid cocktail list, good wine selection, and the ambiance here makes it ideal for date night or a night out with friends.
Came in for brunch, and so happy we did. Atmosphere and ambiance was incredible. Cello and keyboard players were amazing. Have to try the biscuits and gravy! I had the BLET and husband had the steak and eggs. All was delicious and had so much flavor. Our waitress, Isabela was ON IT! Will definitely return again!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I've been twice, and both times were consistently great in the points above. My favorite was the pretzel bites & cheese. Steak is a little pricey, but very good for the price. The cheese gnocchi that accompanied the steak was fantastic, too!

Amazing service. Ashley was so helpful since this was our first visit. Chef expedited a dinner appetizer for our brunch. Marco brewed fresh coffee. We'll definitely be back!

We arrived on a weekend for dinner. There was a large parking lot with free parking. The restaurant is one level with both, tables and booths. A wheelchair would fit perfectly at a table. There is seating at the bar and a few high top tables as well. The food was delicious and well presented. The serving sizes were a bit small so we had room for a dessert after eating an appetizer and our entree. The bread pudding was made fresh! The manager checked on us a few times. Our waiter was pleasant but left us waiting long periods of time before attending to us. The overall atmosphere was calming.
The Foxhole tavern has always been a very consistent place with upscale food and interior and also includes a good wait staff. I can't remember the first time I ate here but I don't think I've ever had an unsatisfactory dish. They have creative menu and the preparation always seems to be top notch. This has a nice upscale pub type atmosphere and usually is a festive feeling atmosphere. I also really enjoy their desserts a lot. This place offers a lot more than the exterior would suggest, give it a try and you won't be disappointed...
Foxhole has been one of my favorite places to get brunch. I learned about this place in 2020 and brought so many friends since. Food and drinks have always been on point. Unfortunately, they changed their menu and no longer carry my favorite brunch items. RIP Eastside Hipster…to the best hash I’ve ever had. The new hashes just don’t do it for me. Please bring back the Eastside Hipster😔
This place by outside is deceiving. Inside is beautifully decorated, like stepping into a dark woodland mountain lodge. The cocktails are unique, chilled and served fast. I do wish they sold sangria by the pitcher. We just had a spread of appetizers, tried the fires, pretzels, Texas trio (my favorite) and of course, the "and then there was chocolate" all of it was a delight. Looking forward to coming back and trying something different.
Serrvice, atomosphere, menu, all 5 star easy. Some of the food quality was a little lacking and the draught beers didn't taste fresh per say. Our server was amazing, but we had high expectations going in. I love how the menu is presented and arranged. We did a few plates instead of a traditional entree. And the bathroom sink was amazing.
Hard to classifying this place. I think better than average, yet not quite high end. The brunch food was delicious. Had no problem finishing the whole plate (read what you want into that). Nick, our waiter, was fantastic. No problems with the food and he brought our extra stuff quickly. Prices were maybe a little much for what you get, but not to bad. One ding would be that the carafe of mimosas only came with a very small side of juice for the whole table.
Great environment. Staff very friendly. Margarita and sangria delicious. Tomato flatbread is really good. Steak flatbread, be careful with the creamy jalapeño, if you are sensitive to spicy, put on the side. Burger very good the whole combination, meat came at the right temperature. Chips came cold and some a little bit soggy. Pretzel dip, is ok. Meatballs was good. Chowder was very good. Salad was good.
Love this place for service, ambiance and culinary creativity. I had the salmon on rice pilaf--I liked it but I really would have loved if the salmon stood out more. The rice pilaf was overpowering. Obviously, it was still so good. The oysters were fresh and so good. The husband got their kobe burge, he says it was filling and cooked to perfection. Finally, the star of the show is the Pineapple upside down cake. MUST TRY! Def. Coming back <3
The food was really great, although a bit over priced for what you get. I enjoyed the food I did get though. Drinks were nice! It can get really loud inside, we were shouting to hear each other, so I wouldn’t recommend for a date night. The giant TV has a sports bar feel?
Great atmosphere with Sunday afternoon acoustic music trio. Seating inside or outside is comfortable. Mimosas and bloody Mary $5. The steak salad is good but very heavy on the horse radish. It overpowers the salad. So if not a big fan of the horse radish, take it off. The southwest salmon salad was great... If you try the side Brussels Sprouts, they have hints of pecans and slices of beats that are all slightly fried. This place is worth a try. You will pay $80 for lunch with tip for two people.
The food is actually pretty good here. Service was amazing, and the atmosphere was pretty cool. You should probably be aware that they’re only serving brunch and breakfast type items until 3 PM. As long as you’re cool with that, then you’ll really enjoy it. If you want more dinner type items, come after 3 PM. The restaurant area is a little dark, there is also another outdoor-ish area that’s a little better lit.
Girl time! The server was on point and always checking on us. We had to move to a bigger table without any issues. The food was amazing! Appetizers were good amount. The chips with three different dips and oysters were my favorite. We also ordered Jalapeños, flatbread tomato, desert-chocolate and pineapple I think. Quiet enough but not eerie. Clean. Nice lighting. Recommended!
We’ve been here a few times in the past, but this was our first time back in over four years. The place is still really nice and clean and the ambience is warm. The food is good too. We didn’t eat full entrees, but we order appetizers and a couple of drinks. The brussels sprouts were really good, but there are quite a few beets in there. If you’re a beet lover, you might really enjoy this although the beats are warm. If you’re not a beet lover, it maybe not be the best appetizer as the beets compromise about half the dish. We ordered the Blue Point oysters and they were really good. The service was good and while we had to wait, the servers were nice and attentive. The layout is interesting as there’s a bar area, then more formal sitting and the tables are spaced out nicely. There appears to be a little stage area that had a couple of tables on it, but I could see how they might have some live acoustic music playing, which would totally be a huge thumbs up. Overall a good place to go.
The food is always good here, the ambience is always nice, and the servers are always so so wonderful, but I'm just not sure it lives up to the prices they set. It's just barely too expensive for me

The food here is mostly excellent. I love the $5 tacos and the autumn mule. The music is a little loud. But plenty of space. clean and pretty good service.
Great date night location. The drinks were perfectly mixed and the food options were very wide ranging. My wife and I shared the meatballs app and the salmon dinner plate, would get both again.

Was not sure because of curb appeal but glad I went. Super friendly service. The steak salad was very tasty. Great steak and yummy fried green tomatoes. Full bar.
Food was great but there's always room for improvement. Personally I thought the bread for the pork belly crostini could be a tad thicker, shrimp scampi Mac and cheese could use more garlic and butter. Service was a let down. Music was a tad too loud to have a conversation. We had trouble hearing the specials and menu. Overall an OK experience. While food was phenomenal, the other factors that make this a more pleasant dining experience fell short.
This review is regarding brunch. My reviews usually focus on the food, but in this case the wait for our food was so long I wouldn't return (Sunday, 12/18); we waited over an hour to order and receive our brunch items. We started with the deviled eggs and they were good. I had the farm skillet (vegetarian) - eggs and chive cheddar with potatoes, squash, sundried tomatoes, bell pepper, peppercini, green olives, and topped with onion rings ("tobacco onions"). It looked great and the ingredients worked well together but it lacked some flavor as the balsamic reduction was barely noticeable; hot sauce made it better. I felt sorry for our friend that ordered the Belgium Style Waffle. The single strawberry sliced into 4 pieces looked anemic and overall the waffle was not impressive, or filling (to be fair, it was only $8 compared to my $13 scramble). The Crispy Blakened Salmon Po'Boy was the winning dish at our table. It was beautiful on the plate and I'm told was very tasty by my two friends that ordered it.
The first time we ever came here we loved it! Couldn’t wait to come back and try the different specials they have to offer. This time we were so disappointed at our bar service! We got served half full cocktails that mind you- cost $14 a piece! I did mention it to the bartender at the time that I was unsatisfied with the pour amount considering Not only the price, but I am an avid martini drinker- and I have NEVER had my glass this empty. He responded that it was the correct pour and if I wanted to be satisfied I would need to buy another martini to make up for the other half of space in my glass…. Wow! If this is the correct “pour” for $13- count me out! Will not be bank unfortunately. Prices in this economy are through the roof, but I am not opposed to spending good money on a GOOD cocktail- however his reaction was very passive aggressive and if this is how the restaurant wants him to serve and service their drinks- I will happily take my money elsewhere. (:
If you look for value for the quality, I may give them 3.75/5 stars.. but if you are looking for actual tasty food, I would give them 2.25/5 stars. Though, I have to say the service was decent, we sat at a high top in the bar area. All the cocktails sucked, but they are the cheapest cocktails I ever seen.. I think next time I would stick with wine or beer. Mickey Finn martini: meh, you can’t taste the lychees and it was too spicy Smoking gun: not good Autumn mule: tasted like cough syrup The food was too sweet for my taste!! It is savory covered in sugar. Crispy pork belly crostini: you could taste the bean purée more than the pork belly Stuffed Lockhart quail breast: it was ok, the red pepper chili was too sweet, tasted like BBQ sauce Kobe burger: it was ok, a bit too sweet.. same like the quail, it tasted like BBQ sauce, didn’t taste like bacon jam Chocolate lava cake: good but too sweet
Wanted to try something different on the way to a hockey game. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The appetizer of tots were so spicy my mouth burned for 45 minutes. We shared the scallops and although the scallops were tasty the bed of veggies and rice with sauce felt like an after thought. The veggies were chunky and barely cooked didn't feel like it pared well with the rice and sauce. Beautiful resturant and nicely decorated. Wait staff was great and food came out quickly.
Staff is always AMAZING! I've never had a bad experience here with the staff. Austin took care of us last night and he was an absolute delight! Ok, now for the bad: the menu changes over the past year have been really disappointing. This place seems to consistently take off the best things on their menu. First it was the pork belly crostini which was SO GOOD that I use to bring people there just to try it. It was taken off about a year or so ago. In response me and my friend's new go-to was the tuna tartare which was delicious, fresh and always satisfying! They have since taken that off the menu as well. Ok so we had to pivot again so we each tried their red fish ceviche. I love ceviche but this was so gross nether me or my friend could eat more than a few bites. Yeesh. We nibbled on a few chips, ate the little bit of mango and avocado out of it, which was the only ok part of the meal, then pushed those plates aside. Oh well. We were hoping we could at least wrap up the disappointing meal with a nice dessert, but lo and behold they've now removed the best desert they had: the pineapple upside down cake. Cool, so we kinda expected that at that point so we pivoted to the berry cheesecake. That was also not great. Why is the crust so hard? Why is this dessert so salty? We split it and still left more than half of it on the plate. So anyway, it's sad they are taking the best things off the menu. This used to be THE place we would always go to grab dinner. We've decided there's no reason to go back at this point. Hopefully it gets better because we used to love this place.
Very nice inside and customer service was good, but let down by the food quality, which didn't really live up to the expectation set by the price.\nThe tuna salad was supposed to be sushi grade, bu…
Not the best experience. They put us in the side room with a bunch of large parties. Could hear, service was slow, just not a good atmosphere on that side. The vibe on the other side of the restaurant seemed better but we didn't get to experience that.
would love to rate their new menu, but we waited and waited for someone to come around after being seated but no one did. It’s a Thursday night, not busy. We did get there right before 8 so maybe they were grouchy we showed up an hour before close. Service has gone downhill slowly over the past few months but this time we simply walked out.
The ambiance was nice. However, the food was subpar. The brussel sprouts were average and the venison chili was overly spicy and would have been perfect without the ghost peppers. The wobble wobble was tasty but not as good as I anticipated. Maybe our expectations were too high. We don’t plan to return.
Came in for a late lunch around 2:30, the place was pretty dead one other table and a couple people at the bar. Hostess was too busy taking a call to acknowledge that I was standing there for about 5 minutes. She sat me at a high top behind the bar. I waited 20 minutes without being acknowledged. There were two waiters working a bar tender and manager which all 4 had looked at me and not acknowledged i was even sitting there. After 20 minutes of being ignored I got up and walked out, the only thing that was said to me was have a good day when I left, at that point it felt more insulting than anything I hope they take reviews seriously and do retraining for their staff that was there today.
