One of the best meals Ive had in a long time. The various sauces we all had were exquisite. The portions are massive and the staff is super friendly and fun to dine with. Thank you !!! See you soon 😊
I’m surprised to read a bad review. Especially for a new restaurant during a holiday. People have to understand what not only happens during a holiday week but as well a new restaurant trying to find their way. Here in March and I’m supper picky and it’s just stellar. I believe I just had the best chicken parm I’ve had in my entire life. So life changing my scale of what a good parm looks like will be forever changed. The homemade sauce is spot on and enough of it. The chicken is the most tender chicken ice had on my entire life. The Cesar salad dressing is home made as is everything else and great. The grapefruit martini was so easy to drink, maybe too easy. I would highly recommend this place and will now stay at the hotel by it just so I can come here for dinner. Wow! ❤️
This Italian establishment is truly great. With service at 100%, the culinary experience was matched by the delicious food. The pollo piccata I had was flavorful, and the pasta served alongside it was great. The wine I chose complemented the meal well.
My husband and I went to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary at Gino's Vino. It was the perfect place to celebrate. It was such a nice romantic date night place. The food was delicious! Our waitress was awesome! She made good recommendations for us to try. And the cherry on top of the cake was the owner's daughter saw us outside trying to take a picture and she offered to take it for us. I have to say she captured the perfect 1st wedding anniversary photo for us! Definitely a must try un Austin.
The chicken piccata is so good! I get a side of veggies with mine and mix it in. It’s very filling and flavorful. The bread that they give you is so tasty; I guarantee you’re not gonna be able to just have one piece! The servers are attentive and are always there when I need them (even before I know I need them)! Let’s not forget that the moment you walk in you enter a nice elegant room with ambient lighting. It serves all vibes expectations (romantic dinners, dinner with coworkers, drinks with the girls or the buds). It The old fashion’s are so good and even though it was for a limited time, the chocolate cake was so good and I miss it!
Great Italian spot. I’m always on the hunt for a homey style Italian restaurant. This spot is great. It’s in an unsuspecting complex. The interior is cozy and dark. The menu is very vast. The calamari tasted fresh and lightly fried. The veal piccata and spicy Italian sauce pasta were very very too. We thought there would be leftovers, but we devoured it all.
We really enjoyed this delicious little Italian place! We had the Vitello Parmigiano and Gnocchi di Pesce and both were amazing. The atmosphere was cute and cozy and we had the most friendly, helpful server (wish I could remember her name). We did not have a reservation but were able to be seated pretty quickly for a Friday night. I’d love to go back!
Just had dinner at Gino’s Vino Osteria and it was a charm — their Escargots baked in garlic butter were delightfully rich, and the Lasagna di Casa (fresh pasta, beef ragu, ricotta, mozzarella) was comfort food done right. The Pancetta Avvolta Di Gamberetti (jumbo shrimp wrapped in pancetta over creamy pesto polenta) was a standout. What really elevated the night was the cozy, romantic feel and the staff’s warm hospitality — they made great wine pairing suggestions and checked on us just the right amount. Can’t wait to come back and try their Filetto Mignon with mushroom risotto next.
the food here is so amazing!! we’re from out of town and we came here twice in four days because it’s just that good. their spaghetti alla scampi is the best dish in my opinion, the sauce is so rich and flavorful. it was slightly different each time i had it, which i don’t even mind because you can tell it’s being made from scratch that way and not just out of a tub from sysco. the atmosphere is very nice too. small and fancy but not so fancy that you feel uncomfortable, it’s very warm and inviting. you may feel a bit awkward at times because it is quite a small place so sometimes you’re close to other tables but the food makes you not care anymore! the servers are also very sweet and there’s a man that i think is a manager or owner he’s nice as well. overall i absolutely love this place and i’ll be coming to eat everytime im in austin!!
After traveling all day we stumbled upon this gem. We were hungry for real food, not drive thru. It was 15 minutes until it closed and the staff welcomed us warmly. The feeling we got when we opened the door was like walking into mom’s house when dinner was ready. The food was flavorful and exactly what we were looking for. This restaurant was very clean and elegantly decorated. Thank you to the staff for making our long day end peacefully and filling our bellies!! We will come back when we are in the neighborhood again.
If you live in Mueller/Windsor park this is the perfect date night spot if you’re still looking to treat your lady to somewhere nice but not having to drive the distance to downtown. Ive driven past the storefront a million times before and I wish I went sooner. The food was amazing, genuinely the best Italian food Ive had.
I have only good things to say about this spot — DELICIOUS food, super friendly staff, great drinks, and the best atmosphere (especially for a date night). I will definitely be coming back soon. We came here to celebrate my birthday and they made me feel so special. Added to my list of favorite Austin spots!!!
The food was so good I completely forgot to take a picture. Owner Deinnis personally welcomed our group, and Chef Manuel checked in to make sure every dish was on point. They were definitely not stingy with the drinks. Whether you’re with friends or out for a date night, this place is on it with amazing food, group dining vibes, and top-notch, professional service.
If I could describe it with one or 2 words it would be intimate and authentic. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere and environment is great, low lighting and perfect for a date. The service is great and I love how Dennis is very attentive and always holds great conversation. I will be coming here very often as I found the closest and most authentic Italian food. They live up to the name specially after new management. My favorite plate so far is the chicken piccata! MUST TRY! Also, if you get to sit at the bar, Cindy makes the best drinks and she’ll take care of you.
Thank you Daniel for your excellent service. I’m not a huge fan of Cesar salads the dressing is just a no for me but this in house dressing passed the test. (I don’t think it had anchovies) The pasta was cooked perfectly the red sauce was robust. The best chicken parm I’ve had in a while. The breading was well seasoned and added that extra zing. The chicken Alfredo must be the best thing on Olathe menu it was at nearly every table. So I got a few fork fulls… FANTASTIC I’ll be back for that it was creamy and as good as it looks. They were generous with the sauce. I think they’re making the pasta in there. About that cheesecake ummm It was velvety, I was ok with it not having any crust but It wasn’t cold enough and missing that sweetness I crave and nope the cherry drizzle didn’t do it. That was a let down. But the atmosphere is nice, full bar if you desire a drink limited parking.
We have been trying to find a nice Italian authentic restaurant in Austin… and we finally found it. This place reminds me of Italy. Both their tomato base and Alfredo sauces are phenomenal. The Chicken parmigiana and meatballs are also great; total favorite. We absolutely would recommend this place 😊👌🏻
Right off the I-35 lies your next Italian date night spot. Gino’s is a cozy spot serving up savory pasta in a quiet, intimate setting. The service is great, and the interior screams Italian restaurant (in a good way). Our waitress was phenomenal, making jokes, taking photos of us, and giving fantastic dining recommendations. We were there for a birthday dinner so we came as a large party and everything from arrival to the end was very smooth and done with fantastic service. Parking is easy to find but you may have to settle for the accompanying lots as their front of house lot is somewhat small. Our party ordered many different things but what we ate/tried were the house bread, burrata, gnocchi di pesce, spaghetti e polpette, chocolate cake, and the tiramisu. We also ordered their berry cosmo as a drink. Here’s a quick rundown of everything we ate: the house bread was great, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The burrata was creamy and pretty filling, well balanced. The gnocchi di pesce was very good with chunks of fish and shrimp throughout, very filing and savory. The spaghetti e polpette was surprisingly a miss; it was unexpectedly spicy and the texture was a bit al dente. The chocolate cake was very rich, absolutely delicious with every bite. The tiramisu was perfect, creamy and full of coffee flavor. Last but not least, the berry cosmo was sweet yet powerful, a bit too strong for our liking but we can see how others would love it alongside their meal. By the end of our meal we were very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. The price was a bit high but that’s to be expected in an Italian restaurant of this quality. Even when we were there till past closing they never made us feel rushed and took care of us like we were the first customers of the day. Gino’s is a great spot for an intimate date night or for anyone looking for good, classic Italian food. We recommend it to anyone looking for a spot in the area to eat or go out on a nice date.
For the price, this just wasn't worth it. The bruschetta came with shredded mozz which was grainy and on thick cuts of bread. The tagliatelle arrabiatta sauce was a little watery, the chicken in the picatta was rather tough to cut even though it was thinly sliced, and the bread was more like a yeast roll - not what I'd expect for an Italian restaurant. I was also surprised that the parmesan cheese topper was pre-grated and served out of a bowl - even chains like Macaroni Grill shred fresh parm over your pasta. Our server was lovely though!
Visited this place last night on the day before Valentines with a party of 10, the reservation made two weeks prior. Waited over 30 minutes before we were approached to take appetizer orders – an additional 45 minutes before they showed up, the short version is after we put in our food orders-The total time was 2 1/2 hours without food, arriving at the table. They provided some appetizers on the house to hold us over, but never made even the smallest effort to apologize for what was simply a terrible experience. Cannot recommend, especially as all of the tables around us in the full restaurant we’re receiving their food. As In Austin native, I am reluctant to leave any kind of reviews generally, but this one has to be left so as to warn other large groups to be aware. Austin is competitive. Do better.
Ordered to go on a Saturday night, was excited to finally try this place. Atmosphere looked lively and the service was efficient but pasta was bland (carbonara) not much sauce a small portion for price $30. Probably wouldn’t come back
