I absolutely love eating at this place! The food here is fresh, and absolutely delicious. Their mango drink is so good and affordable as well. Their ambiance reminds me of Miami and it’s only a bonus that it’s located close to a park. The steak here is also really good as well. It’s well done and tastes smokey.

Absolutely LOVED coming here! The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or even a casual dinner with the family. The food is exquisite. They NAILED the transition from food truck to restaurant. The flavors are so bold and very plentiful! I had the Cochinita Pibil and it was just incredible — so flavorful and very plentiful. The plantains were just delicious! The salsa was also so amazing. I haven’t had a salsa like this before - tomato base and had chunks of avocado! It was so flavorful — I can not wait to go back! Cheers to another Austin staple!!

A friend brought us here and the food was delicious. The servers can always clarify it for you but know that on the tacos section that they are ONE taco per order. They are pretty filling. I got the barbacoa and their cochinita pibil. I really enjoyed the barbacoa and also note that their sauces are fairly hot and spicy. If you are on the fence, it’s always better to order the sauce on the side. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is right on the corner so you can’t miss it. Street parking was full when we were there but they have parking garages very close by to accommodate.

There’s a reason I keep coming back here: it’s by far the best meal you can get inside Mueller. The cochinita pibil is 🔥, the cocktails are stunning in presentation, with nuanced blends of unique flavors. And ever since I first tried tamales wrapped in banana leaf at a questionable food truck off Cameron Rd circa 2015, I’ve been on a mission to find more. Veracruz is one of the few spots I’ve found that feature them on their menu, and they are a delight. Anyway - just saw that they’ve received a Michelin shout out last week. Definitely well-deserved.

I can’t wait to go back. This is exactly my kind of cuisine, the 🐠 doesn’t smell fishy, on the contrary, it’s washed and seasoned properly, not over-empowering and not lacking. And served properly: with rice, avocado and plantains, with tasty sauces, reminds me of my Haitian upbringing. The 🍹 were gorgeous and tasty. And as you can see, we devoured the 🥑 and I’m picky about my guac. Well done! 👏🏽

A fine dining experience. Everything about this place is amazing. That first bite into tacos is what will make you go back. A perfect spot for a date. They made me love carrots and cauliflower. I definitely need to find out how they cook their carrots!! The chicken taco could use some salt/seasoning. My partner had shrimp tacos and he loved them. The size of the refreshments is gigantic, I needed to-go cup. And lastly, I can’t talk enough of their rice and beans. I wish I could get seconds. Friendly staff, they will explain everything to you if it is your first time. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The music is a little too loud for my liking.

The food is bursting with flavor, service is super nice and impressively fast, and they have lot of options to choose from. All of the kids and adults in our group loved it! The drinks and desserts were great too! A little on the pricey side of things when you add appetizers, meals, drinks, and shareable desserts ($250 - 4 kids and 2 adults), but worth it.

We had a fantastic lunch at Veracruz Fonda in Austin! The unique combination of flavors was fantastic, and my favorite was the hummus made with toasted pumpkin seeds—such a creative twist! The housemade chips were absolutely fantastic, perfectly crispy and delicious. My husband raved about his Cochinita Pibil and Taco al Pastor, loving every bite. I enjoyed the Shrimp Macha taco, which was perfect—succulent shrimp with bold flavors, especially when drizzled with the jalapeño cream salsa. The option of three tortilla types (blue corn, white corn, or flour) was a nice touch. My husband also couldn’t really ejoyed his fruit all-fruit smoothie. Our server, Jokobeth, was so knowledgeable about the menu & brought great energy. He even shared the recipe for the pumpkin hummus so we can recreate it at home! The ambience was bright and cheerful, adding to the wonderful experience. It’s no wonder they’ve won awards for the best 🌮 tacos!

Had lunch with family and really enjoyed it. We had salads, tacos, and breakfast tacos. Everything was fresh and tasty. The service was quick and friendly. The space is comfortable with padded chairs and a relaxed vibe. They even have hooks for bags, which was a nice touch. It’s a woman owned restaurant and you can see the thought put into the details. Will definitely come back when we are in Austin!

I had seen Veracruz in Mueller so many times and never got the chance to visit until it finally happened, and wow, it truly surprised me. If I had known the food and cocktails were this divine, I would’ve come way sooner. The interior is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service was truly top-notch. Our server, who I regret not asking for her name, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She explained every dish we were curious about and made our lunch experience even more enjoyable. While preparing cocktails, the bartender kindly let me record a bit for this review, which I really appreciated. And before we left, the bar manager stopped by our table to ask how everything had been. That personal touch made all the difference. I also had no idea this location was Michelin-recommended for 2024, but after tasting the food, it absolutely makes sense. Everything was just divine. I’d go back 100%

We walked in on a busy Friday and were seated pretty quickly despite the crowd. The vibe is lively and family-friendly, with a great patio and stylish interior. The drinks were excellent—highly recommend the Doña Diablo. We started with ceviche, which was fresh and flavorful, and they happily brought extra chips upon request. For mains, I had the mole enchiladas with plantains (delicious) and birria tacos, which were crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. A solid go-to spot in the Mueller area.

came here for brunch and really enjoyed the atmosphere. the service was so lovely, and the upbeat mexican music added a lot to the good vibes. the fried plantains in the dishes were good, and i loved how spicy the salsa was! the pecan concha had a nice sugary top, though we didn't really taste any pecan, but it was still very tasty. the cochinita pibil had tender pork, and the thick, fluffy blue corn tortillas were still steaming when they arrived. the chilaquiles were very flavorful, especially the salsa and cecina. the quesabirria were cheesy, filling, and crispy, and the chile toreado they came with were fantastic. the mole enchiladas were just alright for me, but i'm not a huge mole person to begin with. the migas poblanas taco was also pretty average in comparison to the other dishes. overall, the food and ambiance were good, but the dishes were a little on the pricey side. probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but we definitely enjoyed the experience :)

Veracruz in Mueller, Austin TX, is a flavorful spot with some standout dishes! Fresh ingredients shine through in their dishes like the grilled talapia with blue corn tortilla and an amazing salsa combo. The egg and mushroom tacos on flour tortillas were tasty, and the grilled bananas with cheese were a sweet highlight. Flan with guava sauce and oranges was a nice touch, though it didn't blow me away. Refried black beans were alright. Downsides: Craving grilled chicken tacos, which were more limited than before. Dessert options felt a bit slim, and prices for tacos seemed a bit steep compared to past visits. Overall, Veracruz is a solid choice for fresh Mexican food in Mueller - if you're in the mood for fish or want to try their creative takes on classics.

Planning a cozy date night with your partner in Summer? Veracruz Fonda and Bar is definitely your place! Their Platanos Con Crema- Fried Plantains with Mexican Cream was just delicious! Quesadillas + Guacamole + Sour Cream - Simply delicious! Their Furioso Tacos are just perfect and a great option for vegetarians! Do try and enjoy!

When you walk into Veracruz Fonda & Bar, you can feel the mix of family roots and modern Austin vibes. It’s run by sisters Reyna and Maritza Vazquez, who grew up around their family café in Veracruz, Mexico. They’ve brought that same love of fresh, authentic food here to the Mueller neighborhood, and it really shows in the menu. We dropped in, planning to just have a drink and maybe a small bite. We ordered the side ceviche chips, expecting something light—and were blown away. The ceviche was fresh, flavorful, and authentic, so good that we ended up ordering a second round instead of heading elsewhere for dinner. The atmosphere is colorful and energetic—yes, it gets noisy, but in a way that adds to the lively vibe. What started as a quick stop turned into one of the most memorable ceviche experiences we’ve had in Austin.

This spot is all about bowls with healthy options. The amount they give you in each bowl is just right, enough to fill you up and feel satisfied without being too much or too little. The service is decent, and since it's rarely crowded, you get served quickly without long waits. You can also order your food online and pick it up, which is convenient. The downside is the place itself - it's kinda dull and gloomy, not really a lively atmosphere. I'd recommend grabbing your order and eating somewhere else to enjoy your meal more.

I dined in yesterday, and it was a little pricey($18) for my bowl but everything was fresh, nice portion size and delicious. Today at work we ordered Sweetgreens from Mueller via Grub Hub and we were extremely disappointed. Maybe due to the large order(11 bowls), but it looked like everything was quickly thrown together without consideration of portion size or presentation. The picture of the bowl shown has not been touch. Due to to the premium ingredients of goat cheese and avocado this bowl was slightly more than yesterday at $20!

Tried the new Omega bowl, the salmon piece I got was so small (nothing like photo on the app). Not worth $18. Also service was sub par. Should’ve gone to Honest Mary’s right next door

I come to this sweetgreen all the time as I work nearby. Today I had an unfortunate experience. I had ordered online, picked up my food and walked back to work. When I opened it I realized they didn’t give me chicken I was supposed to get and put sweet potatoes instead which I didn’t ask for. I walked back and showed them the order. She took my plate back which I find unsanitary to begin with. But then picked up the sweet potatoes from my plate and put them back in the serving tray on the line. Then plopped the chicken on top and gave it back. I think it should’ve been remade for food safety reasons and considering it contained an ingredient I didn’t ask for. I’ve worked food service and I know this is not how it should’ve been handled. I’m not one to complain but that was very concerning to see and I feel people should know about this since it is a health safety concern. I come here a lot and usually don’t have a problem other than staff being kind of short and sometimes rude with me.

I usually don’t write reviews unless I’ve had either an amazing experience or a truly miserable one. Unfortunately, this visit was the latter. When I arrived, there was one person ahead of me being helped by a woman who was patient and compassionate. As I waited, the man prepping in the back came up to assist me. The moment he approached, he said “What you want,” in an uninterested, dismissive tone. I brushed it off at first, but things only went downhill as I started building my bowl. I was completely disregarded in terms of patience and customer service, even though I was ordering two bowls—one for myself and one for my partner, as I often do. After choosing my base, we moved on to toppings, where I felt rushed through every selection. We couldn’t move forward because the customer ahead of me was still choosing their toppings, yet he kept pushing me to list everything I wanted, even though we hadn’t reached the other stations. I asked that we complete one bowl at a time to avoid confusion and cross-contamination. Throughout the entire interaction, his impatience and rude tone made me genuinely want to walk out and abandon my order. Once I was passed off to the woman who had been assisting the previous customer, the experience immediately shifted back to the level of service I normally expect from Sweetgreen. As a loyal customer for years, this visit was incredibly disappointing and left me with a genuinely miserable impression.

Lol this place is sad! I don’t really review places unless it’s amazing or the opposite. This place is definitely the opposite. Don’t know what happened but the last few months this location has gone to trash. I’d rather eat out of the trash than eat here. Don’t know who’s managing it but it seems to be run by a bunch of children who think they are so cool! I overheard them making fun of a customer with a nut allergy saying some very gross things. Won't go into details but I’m sure you can imagine. What happened to the older guy who was managing before? He actually seemed to care about this business. I’ll be going somewhere else from now on.

Just came here for the first time since I’ve been wanting to try their salads. I did a create your own salad and it came out to almost $30 for one salad! I was charged additional for everything added while some toppings like mushrooms is the cost of chicken because it’s “protein” I would have left this salad there but I didn’t want to feel bad and waste the time of the person who made it even though he face off a very nonchalant attitude….. then to learn that there’s a limited season special salad on the website for $15 that is the exact way I made my salad. Yes I probably should have done a little due diligence on my end to fully explore the menus and offerings…. But would have been nice if the employee caught that and made the suggestion to a patronized customer. Guess every dollar counts towards him getting a raise. Go figure.

The menu in the store doesn't actually tell you prices. It tells you a range. So the cost is just a surprise at the end. The staff didn't know how much certain protein choices would cost, and there was literally no way to know. I guess they only want rich people eating here? Unbelievable.

Quality of the food has significantly gone downhill. Let’s face it - we return to restaurants for the food / quality of ingredients - NOT just the service & the atmosphere. I won’t be returning anytime soon. They used to have many ORGANIC option of the toppings etc , now there’s barely anything organic.
