Last weekend’s lunch exceeded expectations at this restaurant. The ambiance was serene, complementing the authentic flavors. The service was attentive, and the menu offered a delightful variety. The dishes were expertly crafted, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors. If you don’t want too spicy then please avoid dishes with four or more red chilies next to it on menu. I would recommend to try Roasted Chili Edamame, Amazing Green Beans and you can’t go wrong with Panang Curry. From appetizers to dessert, each course left a lasting impression. It's a place I'd recommend to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
Wonderful food - the noodles I had were awesome, some of the best I can remember. Neat environment with Vietnamese statues and art - umbrellas hanging from the ceiling had a neat effect. Great service - the lady serving us was so patient and kind. Great experience.
We drive from NW Austin to Madam Mam's on Anderson (even though there are closer Thai restaurants by us) because of their red curry and Pad See Ew. Being a vegan, I love how they can tailor my dietary needs to make a fabulous meal. You get a large meal for a reasonable price. Our to-go orders never disappoint either. Simply delicious!
I went here around 3 weeks ago and the food was amazing. There were 2 guys playing music there and it was a vibe. The waiter was really nice and accommodating. (and cute) Also, The manager was handsome. Made the experience x10 better. Would recommend and come again!
This may not be my first review of this location, but once again I was compelled to share my ongoing experience with this Madam Mam’s Location. The staff in general is always friendly, especially the manager. She goes to every table when/if possible and asks about the dining experience. Besides that, there is a unique, savory, semi-sweet, gratifying dish that your taste buds will not allow you to stop eating! It’s a Dark Yellow Thai Curry with Beef, Onions & Potatoes. On Madam Mam’’s Menu, this dish is Menu Item P.42–the general Thai Name for this Dish may be “Gaeng Garee”. Listen, I first ate this dish at Madam Mam’s Anderson back in 2010 & it’s just as succulent, if not more—now. This Yellow Thai Curry is a Thicker Style Gravy that is Slightly Spicy, Semisweet, Hints of Acidity and Finished with Hints of Coconut. The Beef is boneless & extremely tender. To accompany that, Medium Cuts of Onion & Potatoes with the Skin are Simmered In the Curry, which makes It a Rich and Hearty Dish that is Highly Addictive. They get and deserve 8 Stars for this dish alone. It’s served with Semi-Sticky Jasmine Rice—get Extra Rice, You’ll Need It. Thai Tea is also consistently good here, along with the Chicken Satay, Pad Thai, Lard Na with Flat Noodles; and the Brussel Sprouts. Ask for the Spice Tray with Sambal, Seranos and Siracha—wonderful Condiments.I always Dine-In, Take Away is never the same across the board, because it’s served in different containers & typically transported.
I had the Pad Thai, Som Tum, and F11 (Guay Teaw Kua Gai), and everything was very flavorful and well cooked. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the seasoning was just right. The staff was kind and the service was quick. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving delicious Thai food!
Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Austin. Their menu used be be huge and you could experience so many wonderful dishes. Even though they have made their menu smaller it doesn't mean your missing out! If you don't try them out your are failing one of the best food experiences Austin has to offer! The environment is clean and extremely inviting. They have a great staff with a lot of recommendations if you find yourself at a cross road trying to choose a dish. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. Sometimes I just blindly pick not even know what it is because it is never a let down. If your new to thai try any of the curries first.
Being a vegetarian Thai is always on my top list so I decided to visit Madam Mam’s with my friends. Food was delicious & flavorful except the Thai Ice Coffee which was too sweet for me. Hence. taking out 1 star. Place is nice and lively. The server was humble and quickly managed our order with 8 guests.
I tried their Tom Yum Chicken soup it is really good and for the main course I tried their curry menu with Jasmine rice, Stir Fried Pad Prik gang with chicken that is outstanding I will say must try item. Drunken Noodles is not upto the mark just average. Thai Gyoza Appetizer is really good.
Love coming back here when visiting Austin. So many memories Friendly and fast service. The portions were generous, and all the dishes were very flavorful. I always go back to Madam Mam's for F11 lol Guay Teaw Kua Gai with Beef is soooooo good. Stir-fried wide rice noodles are seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, and sometimes a hint of sugar, giving it a savory and slightly sweet flavor. It is served with a side of fresh lettuce for added freshness. We also always order Som Tum (Papaya Salad); it is incredibly refreshing and packed with flavor. The combination of tangy lime, spicy chili, and savory fish sauce creates a perfect balance. The crunch of the fresh papaya and peanuts adds great texture.
Pictures are from multiple visits over a few days. The Thai coffee is a sweet tooth’s heaven. Garlicky Chicken wings were yum but I’d have loved them less dry. Food comes out pretty fast. Waiters were really friendly. Entrees are best for at least two people. I kept feeling like I wasted my orders because the portions were so large. Overall good experience, I’d visit again!
Heard that kids eat free here, so we went with our 2 boys. They have kids meal for free (fried rice with gyoza). We ordered 3 lunch sets. Curry and pad Thai were alright, though not very impressive. But the flat noodle soup was very disappointing. They seem not fully cooked and were hard/chewy and stick together.
Food tastes great n that’s why we were back but servers service was awful. Food was flowing outside the plate, I asked for soft tofu n got fried in soup. Server dint bother to consider spicy level we asked for n turns out one of the dish was impossible to eat due to being extremely spicy. They can do better with servers n service. Will be back just for food keeping in mind not to expect anything great in service.
I made the recommendation for my family to come eat at Madam Mam’s tonight because we recently moved to Austin and they had never eaten here before. When I previously lived in Austin, I had eaten at Madam Mam’s on numerous occasions and I always enjoyed my food and experience. Unfortunately, tonight was not the case. A member of our party has an allergy to seafood and asked for his drunken noodle be made without oyster sauce or fish sauce. This is a simple and common request that he’s made at many Thai restaurants and thus far every restaurant has been able to accommodate this request. However tonight, we were told that they could not make such accommodation and were asked to select a different item off the menu. The waitress tried multiple times to speak with the manager regarding the fact that this request is due to an allergy, and eventually even offered to try to get the manager to come speak with us herself. As we stood up to go to the front, I watched the manager look over at us walking up then immediately turn and walk into the kitchen. It was clear to us then that the manager did not care about us as customers to even have a conversation and we would not be able to enjoy our family dinner here tonight. The only reason why I am giving this review 2 stars is for the fact that our waitress was very sweet and really did her best to advocate for us. Other than that, this was a rather disappointing experience that made me regret recommending this restaurant in the first place.
Very disappointed with what ended up being our first and only visit. We had high hopes for this restaurant, but the experience ultimately fell short due to how a medical allergy was handled. Upon arrival, I clearly informed the staff that I have an oyster sauce allergy and asked whether my Pad Kee Mao could be prepared without it. Despite our server’s genuine efforts to advocate on our behalf, management ultimately refused to accommodate the request. I fully respect culinary tradition and the importance of authenticity. However, when a guest makes a modification request due to a legitimate medical concern, not preference, I believe empathy and flexibility should take priority. I’ve been eating Thai food my entire life and have dined at over 50 Thai restaurants in the past six years. This is only the second time I’ve encountered a refusal to accommodate an allergy-related request, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. I want to note that our server handled the situation with professionalism and care. Unfortunately, the lack of willingness from management overshadowed what could have been a positive first impression. Fortunately, we found a great alternative at KHON Thai Kitchen Seeda, where the staff was fantastic and accommodating. Highly recommend. Hopefully, management can take this feedback as an opportunity to learn and improve so the restaurant can continue to succeed.
My partner has a fish sauce and oyster sauce allergy and always orders drunken noodles, requesting that those two sauces be left out. We’ve done this successfully at many Thai restaurants. At this restaurant, they refused to make drunken noodles without fish sauce and oyster sauce, even after we explained it was due to an allergy. While they did offer other menu items, those weren’t what we came in for, and it was disappointing that no accommodation could be made for a common allergy-related request. The only reason this is a two-star review is because our server was incredibly sweet and genuinely tried her best to help us. She was kind, attentive, and clearly put in effort, even though the final decision wasn’t hers. We left disappointed, especially since this has never been an issue for us at other Thai restaurants.
Ordered through Uber Eats. It came on time and was still piping hot so my issue is not with the driver but the restaurant. I ordered the tiger cry steak, 3 sides of sticky rice and mango sticky rice dessert. I understand Uber increases prices but 56 dollars for that is crazy and thats before tip to driver. Now for the food I was VERY underwhelmed and disappointed. The steak was sliced in sloppy, random slices and so overcooked. It was tough and chewy. The sticky rice was SOO overcooked and mushy and not like normal sticky rice (I am Lao so make quite often). It was also such a small amount given. I paid 4 dollars each for the smallest thing of rice. Its ridiculous. The mango sticky rice was SO SALTY. Like the recipe only requires a pinch of salt but this tasted like it was a spoonful of salt and I was given such a small amount of mango it literally looked like half a mango. For the price it cost, I at least should've gotten a whole mango. It was not enjoyable and quite frankly I wish I could get a refund because it was just lazy cooking.
I ordered a tom yum noodle soup from uber eat and it was by far the worst and the most disgusting soup I have ever had! The soup for sure was off with very strong spoiled smell not a standard tom yum smell or taste! The tofu was awful and the soup base had something rotten. Also I specified that I needed cutlery and it didn’t come at all! I am a Thai food lover and this was definitely not Thai at all!!! Disappointed and wasted my money! Terrible food service!
