We had an amazing experience here. My in-laws wanted to go to a good Mexican restaurant so we took them here last Sunday. It was really good. We had great service, friendly staff it was so good. They had yummy food too. Their chips are cut so thin and they are so crispy. Their salsa is very good too. So I had their veggie fajitas. My mom in-law had veggie fajita tacos. She absolutely loved. My father in law had the chicken ranchero and he said the chicken was really good. My husband also had pollo Monterey. They all love it. It is extremely good. We had overall good experience. Their restaurant is really beautiful too.

We sat on the patio for a Saturday afternoon. There was a large party with quite a few kids, so it was a bit loud (not Maudie's fault). The food and drink were both great as always. We started with the trio, then had chalupas compuestas (no meat), chicken soft tacos and tacos al pastor. A spicy Mexican martini and a spicy Lalo margarita paired great with the meal. We will be back for sure.

Visited this place for dinner. Great atmosphere and it has good ambinace. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is very good, we ordered combination Fajitas, spiced it up with serano peppers. The taste of fajitas was just amazing. The flan was not very sweet and did not have usual egg smell. It was just perfect.

This place is a regular stop for me, at least once a month. Maudie’s is classic Tex-Mex faire that never disappoints. I like to get the Josie’s enchilada plate if I am here for dinner or lunch and the sausage migas when I am here for breakfast. One this visit we tried the queso blanco which, I believe, was a temporary menu item, this was a very runny queso that barely stuck to the chip. Otherwise the enchiladas and fajitas were excellent as always, and the margaritas hot the spot for a Friday evening. The atmosphere here is also pleasant… they have a nice porch, cool artwork on the walls and an intimate feeling due to the imitation hacienda roof. There is much to like about this Maudies location, it is South Austin comfort food. New note - the sausage migas at this location are much better than the lake austin location.

Went there with a couple of friends during a long day. Was the usual TexMex experience. Pretty good on the spices it wasn't to much for me and still had good flavor. We also had a few food allergies and the staff took it really seriously and double checked with us just to make sure. For me I found that really respectable and I appreciated the heck out of it. Great staff great time for a quick lunch would recommend.

Service was great! Reason for the 4 star food review was based on the quantity of the enchilada plate lacking. Also the queso seemed to thicken and cool way quicker than most places. Maybe a different material of plate is needed?

If you guys don’t make the new bartender the lead bartender you’re going to be missing out on an actually good margarita. I’ve been coming here for years and this is the first margarita that I’ve had that wasn’t overly drowned in sweet and sour. Kudos to you sir for making a real margarita! Keep up the good work man!

Great atmosphere and lots of seating are the highlights. Chips and salsa are tasty. Food is decent but wasn’t a big fan of pulled chicken. Probably needs more marination. Side of tortillas with enchiladas is a nice touch. Chile con queso is tasty and spicy too! Service is quick and helpful. Plenty of parking available around!

I can say this is pretty good food, for probably being the only Hispanic person in there besides the staff😁. But seriously the enchilada sauce is sort of how my grandmother made it and she owned a restaurant on S. Congress. The rice had flavor to it, beans were good, black beans are ok, the Al Pastor tacos were delicious. The meat reminded me of Tocino from the Philippines but still tasted good with cilantro and lime. The waitress was nice and helpful, other than that just a bit noisy but not as bad as other places.

Not a fan. Thin, crisp chips? <check> Tasty salsa? <check> Amazing cheese enchiladas? No way. They were covered in thick Velveeta like cheese. I ate two bites and paid my check. I won't be back.

Not the Maudie's experience from years ago. The flavor of the beans was insipid, rice was average, salsa was all paste. Asked for combo fajitas and got all Beef. Using flavorless American cheese, rather than Cheddar, at least Chips were good

Clean, $$$, customer service was poor. We spilled a class of tea(due to the menus being so big) and no one helped us clean it up. One of the workers just gave us a towel and another one gave us a trash can. I don't know about you, but I do NOT like handling a trash can right before I eat. We ordered queso and we didn't get until our other food came out. 😒 The meat in my tacos smelt spoiled. Queso was bland, will not order again. Breakfast served all day, pancake plate was good, eggs were clean. Crispy taco was very good, must try. Tamales are good but tiny. Bad experience for our first time there. As you know we give every place a 2nd chance. However.... Right now We do not recommend.
