The Oasis is definitely one of the best places in Austin to soak in a breathtaking sunset while enjoying a relaxing dinner. The vibe is amazing, especially when sitting on the deck watching the sun set over Lake Travis. The food really pairs well with the view. The vegetable fajitas were fresh and delicious, and the fresh dish paella was surprisingly tasty. Both dishes are perfectly seasoned and satisfying. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for a scenic meal with friends and family. I’m especially happy to hear that the lady doll on the entrance bench, which had gone missing earlier, is back home. Say hello to her next time visit!

Came back here after about 15 years visiting from Chicago. Was such a fun experience. The tacos were so good, the meat was smoked and juicy. The view is, of course, breathtaking. I rarely comment on servers, but Jordan was super accommodating and patient with us and our 8 month old.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review We decided to visit The Oasis on Lake Travis on a completely spontaneous whim on a Thursday at 3:30 p.m.— and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made! From the moment we arrived, the place took our breath away. The stunning views of Lake Travis, the warm and lively ambience, and the relaxed energy all came together to create an unforgettable experience. The food was phenomenal! I ordered the Paella, which was full of flavor and beautifully presented, while my companion enjoyed the Stuffed Avocado — both dishes were absolutely delicious. The service was top-notch as well. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and the entire staff made us feel welcome. Even the photographer captured a perfect “memory to remember” picture that we’ll truly cherish. If you ever find yourself near the Lake Travis / Austin area, I highly recommend stopping by The Oasis on Lake Travis. What started as a spontaneous idea turned into an amazing experience — one we definitely didn’t regret!

Stopped by on a Saturday while visiting Hamilton Pool. This place is very busy! Park across the street in the free lot. The food is alright nothing to write home about, but the view is Amazing 😳. The line was pretty long for a table, but it went pretty fast. There are over 200 tables you will get seated! I made it just in time for the sunset, and it was beautiful. The view made up for the food! Order the Taco Bowl or the Fajtas if you decide to eat! Enjoy😁

The actual place is amazing! Great place to go and take pictures or have drinks with your family! View was 10/10 amazing gives you a view of all lake Travis! Service amazing I have no complaints super friendly staff! Food though could be better that’s my personal opinion it wasn’t the best but drinks and vibes amazing!

Would recommend going for sunset as that’s what we did. You’re definitely going for the atmosphere and sunset over the food. The staff were all very friendly and our server Matt was great! The food is decent but not world beating by any means

This place has a unique atmosphere and a breathtaking view that makes it worth trying at least once. The paella is incredibly delicious, and the waiters are very professional and attentive. I only wish they could offer better service, like providing tortillas and salsa on the house while the food is being prepared, like many other Tex-Mex restaurants in the same price range. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here.

Oasis on Lake Travis is absolutely worth visiting for the views alone — truly some of the best in Austin. The atmosphere is a solid 5/5 with stunning sunset spots and plenty of photo-worthy angles everywhere you look. The food, however, is more of a 3/5. It’s decent but not something I’d come here specifically for. What surprised us is that the brewery next door actually has much better food and drink options, plus live music and a more fun vibe for hanging out. But they operate separately, so we had to order here first and then go there again, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, this place is perfect for the views and photos, while the brewery is definitely the better choice for actual food, drinks, and music. Both together made for a nice evening!

We had the fajitas for 2 and we came in the evening. It was nice because there’s a lot of seating both inside and outside. And even though we weren’t near the live music, we were still able to hear them perform. The decorations are so cute and inviting! It’s fun that the gift shop has locks that you can purchase to attach to the fence as a nice remembrance of your visit to the oasis. Our server was wonderful and the food came out almost immediately! It smelled delicious and was delicious while it was still hot!

The place is beautiful, with an amazing view from wherever you are. It’s definitely worth visiting for the photos and to enjoy the stunning scenery, both during the day and especially at sunset — it’s spectacular. The cocktails are good, but the food honestly isn’t that great. Still, it’s a lovely spot that’s definitely worth checking out!

You definitely come to this restaurant for the view. The wind was crazy but u cant beat the view of Lake Travis from the table. I had street tacos that were good and the prices are resonable for the tourist spot that it is. Also this place is showing times of weather and wear. It is definitely the o ly spot to grab lunch in that area of the lake.

This place has such amazing potential! Beautiful location, intriguing decor, but the food was subpar. On the first cold night in Austin, though it was on the menu, they did not have hot cocoa which was the one thing my kids were looking forward to upon arrival. We ordered our food, and everyone’s food came out except my husband’s. It never arrived at the table. He had to ask the waitress, who was very kind, about his order. She then talked to the manager, who said he would take his meal off the bill, but it would be “right out and fresh” to go since the rest of us were already done with our food by then. When his food finally came out, my husband tried to eat some, but he said he did not like it. Also, we never got refills, even with just water. I heard so much about the beautiful view, but the lakeside seating was not available. They even had the doors locked so we were not even able to look at the evening view. Hoping for a better second visit sometime soon.

The place is beautiful, especially for watching the sunset with a stunning view of the lake. If you’re visiting in the summer, it’s best to arrive between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. to avoid the worst heat and still catch the sunset. 🍹 The drinks are really good. 🍽️ The food is just okay—could be better in terms of flavor and presentation. 🙌 The service was excellent, especially considering the waiters have to go up and down stairs in the heat. Our server, Andree, was super kind and attentive the entire time. Definitely worth it for the view and relaxed atmosphere. Great for a calm afternoon with friends or as a couple.

I honestly couldn’t have been more unimpressed. The extra star was for the view I know it has. We came in the evening (our mistake), so we couldn’t see a thing. It was cold out, so the balcony was not open. We were initially seated with of view of the storage area and a bunch of extra folded chairs, but asked to be moved. We were seated somewhere else and our order was taken quickly. The $20 chicken quesadilla tasted fine, the sour cream was a small portion and ran out quickly. My husband’s gumbo was mediocre, some of the rice was uncooked and it was very small portion. My BBQ bacon burger was a bit overcooked, the bacon was downright burnt, like crack your tooth burnt. The fries were actually very good! Service was fine, but just the bare minimum. The bathroom was pretty gross, needs updating and a good clean. The restaurant is in an amazing location, I’m sure the view during the day is gorgeous, and the actual building is really pretty, but it needs a serious upgrade to the food, service, and interior. Huge potential, but I was not impressed. Won’t be back unless they change it up.

I visited during the week and was surprised to find the place practically empty, with only a couple of other tables occupied. The interior looks very outdated, and there was a strong unpleasant odor inside that made the experience uncomfortable. The service didn’t help either. Our waitress seemed off:::: overly talkative and acting a little odd, almost as if she’d had a few drinks. We ordered fajitas for Two people plus one additional fajita for One to share among four of us. The food quality was terrible. The shrimp tasted frozen, with no flavor at all, the rice was stale and dry, and the tortillas were undercooked. Definitely not what you’d expect from a place with such a reputation and view. To make matters worse, we were charged a 20% gratuity automatically for a group of five, even though we were 4 persons dining in. When I asked for a printed receipt, it seemed like the waitress tried to make some last-minute changes as if to cover up an error. My wife asked me to just let it go, but the whole experience left a bad impression. Besides the beautiful lake view, there’s really nothing left to recommend about this place. It’s sad to see such an iconic spot decline this much.. We won’t be coming back. I decided not to name the waitress to ensure she isn’t reprimanded, as the responsibility lies solely with the management or supervisor for not checking on their staff during opening hours.
