This was our first time here as we love trying new places and checking out the atmosphere and vibe. This place is really a great place to eat and sit down and enjoy. We went on Sunday and they had a live Jazz band playing which was awesome and a treat! The food was amazing and very flavorful. It's a mix of southern style with new orleans style food as well. The staff thereby as awesome andngotngreated warmlyuponnarr8val andngotnquickly seated. Our waiter was great andnaleays kept our cups full and made sure to check-in us thru out or meal to makensure the food was good morning we needed anything. We will definitely be going back to enjoy thebgreat food , service and music. For those who haven't tried this place this is a must got to place and put it on your list!!!
We have always had excellent experiences dining here for breakfast brunch lunch and supper!!! Excellent service , food and great wait persons and managers greet you and really go above and beyond making sure you are having a great experience. They always offer a drink to go too at no extra charge. Always pleasant!! Special Shout out to Manager Ashley (sorry if spelled wrong) for superior customer service and to Adam who made sure our food was excellent in every way and helped us with left overs to take home. Once again best place to go for wonderful time and great tvs showing sports and other items of fun and interests!! Thank you!!!
I love coming here to get my Lakeline taco. The band is always amazing. I love the staff, and it’s such a great place to get rid of those Sunday scaries before you start your work week.
Went a couple of weeks ago, the first time visiting this location since the Leander one closed down. Got to sit near a live band performing wonderful jazz music, and yet I could still hold a conversation with my family without shouting or yelling to be heard. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic.
I'm a borderline fiend for good red beans, and Mouton's does it better (far better) than maybe anywhere else I've been. The Frenchuletta is amazing as well. Been ordering takeout from here for years but last night was the first time my wife and I ever dined in, and though this shouldn't be a shock, getting the food "fresh from source" somehow made it substantially better... Even though just from takeout it was already some of the best Cajun food I've had anywhere period. Up there with the easiest 5 stars I've given.
The food was great and our waitress was so kind and she checked on us the perfect amount. I ordered the eggs Benedict with substitutions: sourdough toast instead of English muffin and sausage patties instead of ham steaks. It was wonderful! I will definitely be going back to try more dishes!
Great little place. Service was excellent. Drinks were awesome. Ordered 3 different appetizers which all were amazing. The main entrees were plentiful, and looked amazing. We just felt that all the main dishes were too spicey and we all like a little kick. We understand that it's Cajun and Cajun has generally a kick to it but it really could have been kicked down a notch. Other than that it's a cool place and definitely worth a visit.
Delicious food, fantastic service and a comfortable homey (not the clown) atmosphere. My wife and I have been coming to Mouton's for years. First the Leander location (RIP, we'll miss you Leander Mouton's ) and now the Cedar Park location. My wife absolutely LOVES the corn beef hash. I love a lot of things here. The country fried potatoes and Pain Perdu (French toast) are particularly delicious, so I definitely recommend those! Autumn was our server last time we were in and the service was magnificent. Eggfficient and on point. I love the fun and unique coffee cups! Again, very homey (not the clown). They even have a pool table and some dart boards if you come with friends and are looking for a group activity outside of shoving yummy foods in your face.
Comfy atmosphere fantastic employees and excellent food! Hubby had chicken fried steak, eggs, biscuits and gravy. I had shrimp, grits, and eggs. Eggs cooked to perfection, as were the shrimp and chicken fried steak. Cheesy grits with a small jalapeño kick. Gravy was spot on, and great coffee :) Highly recommend!
My husband ordered breakfast - the Texas Omelet and added avocado, he liked it alot. I ordered the Sheridan Shrimp with fries and jalapeño cream corn - it was all delicious and was served hot and fresh. Our waiter was Chris. He was quick, attentive, friendly and professional. We sat in the new arcade area, it was nice.
Surprised by some of the recent low star reviews! We stopped in on a Friday evening, not too crowded, service was good, food was too. Fried green tomatoes, a fav, covered in some creole crawfish sauce… delicious! We shared the catfish platter and shrimp poor boy. Tip of the cap to the poor boy, between the two entrees, the shrimp was the star. The fried catfish, while good, was breaded a little too much, fish inside mushy in places. The seasoned fries were great, I’d go back just for a plate of them. Good meal, all served piping hot, good time, solid 4-star experience! Recommend you try Mouton’s!
Now I have to preface my review by saying that my wife is from South Central Louisiana, and as you'd expect, she is very particular about Cajun and Creole food. We decided to roll up to Mouton's on Mardi Gras, and we're confronted by a busy restaurant. It took a little while to get a table, took a little while for our server to roll by, and took a little while to get food, but there was no real harm done. Ambiance is fine, very Louisiana-ish, casual and fun. We had some live music, it wasn't overpowering and the performers were great. As for the food, I think my wife and I agreed that we liked the main dishes better than the starters. I would describe the boudin balls as better than average but nothing to write home about. The seafood gumbo had an unusual spice mix that was polarizing, my wife disliked it, I thought it was good enough. Her boiled crawfish and my catfish special were excellent, well prepared and rich with flavor. Service was good. Our server was friendly and professional, he got the job done, but as I said, a few times service was a little slow, but that was understandable considering the day. All in all, this is a good place, I'm sure we'll be back.
My first time at Mouton's Bistro. The food was so good very tasty. The server was so nice she got our food out so fast. When I visit Cedar Park again I will be back. Catfish Jambalaya Blackened catfish filet on a half order of chicken and sausage jambalaya topped with a cup of étouffée. Served with garlic bread Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya Creole seasoned tomatoes, chicken, Smoked sausage, and white rice.
Atmosphere was good. Server was good. The kitchen is extremely slow. 46 minutes to get our appetizer, then another 30 minutes for our meal. There almost two hours start to finish. Our meal was not complicated, red beans and rice and catfish. Very disappointed in time spent there.
I ordered a smothered burrito through the online order system. I pick up the order and get home there is no gravy. I called the manager and she did not care that there system is misleading. I found out you have to tell the restaurant to make a smothered burrito smothered. Online it was required to select dry or +2.99. Plus means extra which I didn't want, there was no regular selection so I picked dry thinking it must mean regular smothered. It is like ordering avocado toast and you have to tell them to add the avocados. The worst service I have had in awhile. Usually the restaurant staff is sympathetic and sometimes compensating but not this restaurant manager. The attitude was I don't care, you are wasting my time.
The food was good and tasty, but nothing exceptional. The fish and fries were both soggy, though the steak was cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri sauce was delicious. My 3-star rating is mostly due to the poor service. The first time I ordered, I placed my order 30–40 minutes before pickup, but when I arrived, I still had to wait an extra hour because the hostess hadn’t entered my order until after I tipped. They also forgot some items from my order. The second time, I ordered two hours in advance, but the same thing happened. The hostess didn’t put in my order until I signed the bill. She was rude throughout the interaction, and even though I tipped in cash, she didn’t seem to notice — again, items were missing from my order. She just dropped the bag on the table, said “there’s your order,” and walked away. Unfortunately, the food isn’t amazing enough to make up for the consistently poor and unfriendly service.
Went due to reviews and craving eggs benedict and country fried steak. In looking at the photos from other reviewers, our eggs benedict was small in comparison. We hardly got any hashbrowns and the egg on top was round, not flat. The country fried steak was not seasoned well and the gravy was very bland. We also waited 40 mins for our breakfast. Reading this wait time from other reviewers, I wonder if they understand how to run a kitchen in the restaurant? Or is this just better as a straight up bar? The service was fine, everyone was friendly but unfortunately we will not be returning. If you want good breakfast, just go to the good ole reliable 1431 Cafe.
My husband and I came for lunch. We ordered pasta, gumbo, and po boy. All of the food was cold. The fries were soft and soggy. The gumbo tasted burnt. The flavors were off on everything. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly, but we will not be returning.
First time here...ordered food at 6:49 for pickup at 7:30. Wasn't ready until after 8. Maque Choux was canned corn with a few green bell peppers. Bread was stale and inedible. Everything was underwhelming, at best. Wasn't an overly busy night in the restaurant either, only one table was seated in the 35 minutes I wasted waiting. Feel bad for the staff, looks like they are being forced to run very, very lean, and it shows. I'm not one to leave poor reviews but this felt warranted with over $60 down the drain and a good portion of my night wasted.
Look yall pasta is amazing but I am so disappointed with y’all spinach artichoke dip for $14 servings canned frozen spinach is unacceptable It really doesn’t cost much at all to make a fresh spinach artichoke dip besides that I love y’all’s food, but this was very disappointing. U can taste that it is frozen and canned
Atmosphere is pretty cool. Food was extremely subpar. No idea why mushrooms are in shrimp and grits but ok. Service was slow. Calamari had zero seasoning to the breading. Red beans and rice were more like red beans. The shrimp in the grits were WAY too spicy.
