Sometimes a five star review boils down to 'food was good, staff was nice'. This is not one of those. I'm from San Antonio, (arguably) the epicenter of Mexican-American culture and Tex-Mex food. I've had thousands of Tex-Mex meals at over a hundred Tex-Mex restaurants. I don't think I've ever had anything at any of them that can match Ramos Tex-Mex's chiles rellenos con camaron (shrimp). The idea that an Austin (Austin!!) restaurant can sit alone at the top cracks my puro pinche heart, but it is true all the same. Ramos also serves good chips with spicy ranch, the only place I've ever seen do that. Awesome touch. 10/10. 100/100. What a meal.

All around great restaurant to stop at when you want some yummy Mexican food. It's exactly what I was looking for while in town. I'm from Ohio and we don't have great authentic Mexican food like this at home :( I'm jealous lol. So delicious though!! The food came out quick too and was cooked perfectly. Yummy flavors! Service is great as well! Our waitress checked on us often and answered my mom's million questions lol. They didn't give much salsa though for 2 people for our chips & salsa which was kind of weird lol but no biggie since it saved me room for my meal 😂 I recommend the flautas or enchiladas since I tried both and both were so great!! Even my picky mom said she would love to come back so we'll definitely stop here again when I'm in town to visit her again. Much love from Ohio! 🇲🇽❤️

Absolutely hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. A hidden gem. I will be visiting Ramos every chance I get. Staff and food were on point. Service is definitely A+.....

Love love their food there and the wait staff is wonderful. I haven't been there in a while and one of the waitress said "your daughters aren't joining you?". I thought that was very nice of them.

Best Tex Mex I've had. The chili relleno was beautiful, and the chimichanga had more going on than just being stuffed with meat and fried. Got there early and it got packed anyways. Will definitely be back.

Wife wanted to go food. It was great and I even had to sneak a bite of her quesadilla (which is on the crunchier side not mushy/greasy). Also they had some small marg's for $4 to go which were much better than the last 2 other Mexican restaurants I have had. I believe they have all day breakfast but could be wrong. Will be back for sure! Edit: Went back on a Saturday after working in the yard all day with my wife and let me tell you: the food and drinks were delicious! My toddler even ate the bacon and egg taco (picky eater). After trying a bite of her taco I believe I have found our new breakfast taco spot for when we are on the go. I know other places serve beer but their $6 (large) HH Dos XX was ice cold and the mug was cold also. Haven't had a beer that cold out at a spot in a long time and it went down perfectly. Also our server was very nice and attentive.

As of October 2020, this is my favorite Mexican food spot. The google reviews did not steer us wrong. The jalapeño cream sauce that they bring out with the chips is phenomenal. The chips were great also, perfectly crispy and flavored. The service was very attentive. Would definitely come back (often).

Updated review (I thought I had clicked 5 stars before): I have spent several thousand dollars at this restaraunt over the years. Love it. You wouldn't expect it but my son thinks the hamburger might be one of the best things on the menu. The fajita burrito is also great. I've never had a bad meal there. Oh, I always get the queso compuesto every time...I had the fajita omelet this morning, one of my favorites...I might have eaten everything on the menu. Full bar which I try to take full advantage of. Like my original post said, this isn't the fanciest restaurant in the world but the food is great every time.

My family and I love this place. We’ve been eating here for years, everything on this menu is good. The down side is waiting for the the food, it can take a while to get your food. If you choose to dine in, make sure you have a little extra time. My favorite are the beef fajita nachos. They put plenty of beef so you get what you pay for. They other thing we really enjoy on a cold day is their tortilla soup. I’ve included pictures of both. Sorry, we were already eating when I took it.

Not too bad for a neighborhood Tex-Mex option. The staff is very friendly and the quality of the food is ok. Try the Ramos queso.

My family and I ate here today and the food was good. However, we saw a rat near the bathroom area. We chose not to make a scene out of respect for other guests, but this experience made us uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

I would share my experience on my food but I didn’t get served after watching 3 tables come in after me and get served. We were able to get one drink in and the waiter didn’t wait long enough for the rest of the table to order before running off. Tried to pay for the one drink and leave and they couldn’t get someone to check us out. Worst service imaginable. Negative stars.
