Had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner date here with my husband, and it was our first time visiting Siena. We had no idea this little taste of Italy was tucked away in the hills of Austin — truly a hidden gem. The atmosphere and architecture made us feel like we were in the Italian countryside. We enjoyed every dish, and you could taste the freshness in everything, especially the homemade pasta made in house. The service was impeccable, and being tucked away by the fireplace made the night feel extra special. We had such a wonderful evening. Highly recommend — we will definitely be back!
We enjoyed a delicious dinner with excellent service! Right when we got in the door we were greeted with smiles and appreciation. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in a true rustic Italy location. Service was prompt and efficient, even offered wine that wasn't on the official menu based on our desires. Our meals were all delicious and well prepared. We'll definitely be back when in town!
The food was delicious, very unique from your everyday meal. A must try!
Went here for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere was gorgeous. The service was incredible. Our waitress was attentive and the hostess was lovely. The calamari was so light and crisp. The Aquacotta soup was delicious and the Melé salad was an another light delicious option. The pastas were fantastic and you can absolutely taste how fresh the pasta is. Their homemade bread was worth asking for. We will absolutely be back!
This is our “neighborhood place”. The food is always well prepared, fresh and tasty. Portions are large but not crazy. The pricing is very good considering the high quality of the food. Wine list is easy to use. Friendly staff, and you can usually get a table on short notice. Very comfortable seating and usually quiet enough to have conversations with your companions. Dessert and coffee choices are a bit limited.
Absolute delight. Ambience, food, service. Right up there with Fonda San Miguel.
Great food and service! Isabelle our server was top notch! The men's restroom is super quiet and way too small and uncomfortable...just a friendly observation.
Always a great experience in every way! This time the pris fixe dinner was very appealing but for the fact that beef was the meat (which my husband said was delicious, but I don’t eat beef). The waitress offered to substitute salmon - I wouldn’t have thought to ask for that accommodation - and I was in business. The meal, service, and everything else were great. We got the quiet table that we had requested with our reservation and had a wonderful, lingering meal and conversation with long-time friends. Siena has been a favorite of ours and theirs, and it never disappoints.
We dined on a busy graduation/prom Saturday night, so the restaurant was quite busy. Based on other reviews I had read, I was prepared for an unpleasant hostess, forgetful waitstaff, and marginal food, but I made a reservation anyway. We have no regrets. We were greeted and seated by a delightful Rina, served by an attentive Derek, and enjoyed a delicious meal. We have zero complaints about our experience and will put this restaurant in our rotation.
Very nice cozy place. We came in and there was no one at the front . Then we noticed our family at a table and we started walking towards them. All of a suddedn some lady stopped us in the middle of the dinning room to ask us if she can help us, I told her we can see our guest and thank her. She just said "ok fine". She seemed like she was not having the best night. Not very polite. Other than that our food was great, but our server Katie made our night. She was very kind , professional and she answered every question we had regarding the menu. I been in many fine dining restaurants and I was very impressed by her service and her personality. Over all, my family and I had a great time. I will definitely suggest to all my friends to visit this place and request Katie as your server. You will not be dissapointed.
Though it can be tough to get a reservation at the last minute, this restaurant is a hidden gem in Westlake. They make their pasta in house, and they bake their bread fresh everyday. Their pork chop is absolutely amazing. I recommend the fig appetizers as well as the meatballs! Great date spot!!
Monday night surprise, it was steak night! Definitely a great place to go, I will keep this in my radar. Had a great send off dinner with my daughter before she returns to college. Fabio provided excellent service. 5 stars!
Siena Ristorante has been in Austin for almost 20 years and I just tried them for the first time in September. I attended their Amalfi Coast wine and dinner pairing and it was absolutely phenomenal. I really loved the Scialatielli con Frutti di mare – handmade pasta, fresh clams, shrimp, scallops, colatura di alici, Italian parsley and pomodoro sauce paired with Villa Matilde Greco de Tufo. Beautiful, isn’t it? I recommend Siena for date nights or special occasions.
When you walk into the restaurant, it’s like being transported to Italy! We took my parents here and they absolutely loved it. Fabio was our server and was so knowledgeable and recommended an amazing Super Tuscan wine to go with our dinner. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
What a great place!! We found this in search of wild boar ratu, which was divine. Can't wait to go back!!
I visited Siena on a business trip to celebrate my colleagues retirement. The food was incredible and the service even better. Ryan MADE the experience. The chef was able to accommodate a plant based diet, Ryan made us feel like the most special people around, and the freshly made pasta was worth the calories. Very enjoyable meal and experience. Thank you Siena - and Ryan - for helping us celebrate.
Outstanding restaurant, the wine and food is as good as it gets. Our waiter was wonderful with helpful advice with our meal selections.
We held our board of directors dinner there. The service and food were awesome. Service was great and great food. Definitely will come back not only for business but personal as well!!!!
We had a surprise birthday party in their party room and it was wonderful! The food was excellent. Great drinks, the Tuscan peach was excellent. I had the walnut crusted trout that was delicious.
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. I wish I had not waited so long. The food was delicious, the romantic atmosphere and vibe spot on, and our waitress was knowledgeable and kind. I had the linguini with shrimp, scallops and mussels. It was soooooo good. My SO had the Wagyu Sirloin Steak meal and he loved it. Would have liked to see more Pinot Noir choices by the glass but what I had was great.
We've been eating at Siena for years, and the food has never been better than last night. The Tagliatelle ai funghi is always a favorite for us vegetarians and yesterday's rendition was truly outstanding. Our excellent waiter, Joe (or Jojo?) looked after us very well indeed and the kitchen kindly accommodated a special dietary request. A happy evening - thank you, Siena.
We love Siena! It is our go to for special evenings. They've added a Carpaccio appetizer that I could eat everyday!!! The service is top notch and the food amazing. And the atmosphere is just so lovely! It's quiet with beautiful Italian architecture. They also have an open fireplace from the bar to the dining room.
I love this place, been coming to them for years. The ambiance is so 'old school rustic Italian' inside. In the winter it's nice to get a seat by the fire or in the balcony area for some more privacy. My only request is a little more to the menu, and definitely rotating in more seasonal dishes more often. The wood fired foods are all amazing. They had a portabella stuffed with leeks and sun dried tomatoes with a lemon beurre blanc sauce that they took off the menu, much to my dismay, because that was a winner!
This is a great little Italian restaurant in Austin. The feel is old Italian, the food and service are excellent. We had trout dish, our was cooked to perfection and the side of spinach was excellent as well. The Calamari appetizer was superb, one odd there's dishes where you can't put you're fork down!
My family and I love this restaurant! We’ve been here many times, for various occasions. The bar area is great for a casual dinner, especially in the fall/winter when the fire place is going. We traditionally do our Christmas Eve Eve family dinners here, placed right by the fire place and Christmas tree- very cozy. And many girls nights here sitting outside enjoying the great food and wine!
I selected Siena as the location for my birthday dinner this year. Tucked behind a small shopping center at the corner of a very busy intersection, this place is not the usual highway chain restaurant. Walking through the front door, you are greeted with the warm smell of wood smoked meat. The atmosphere is equally warm and inviting. An extensive wine selection is offered along with the menu. My parents made selections off the menu, while my SO and I ordered the three course daily special. The meal was exquisite. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. I was offered a choice of birthday desserts and a lit sparkler was presented. My folks fell in love with the place and have vowed to visit for all special occasions. We will be back, as well!
Bill from the BRONX!!! Thank you for a great evening! From the moment we walked in, the two lovely ladies at the front greeted is like they were expecting us. (Yes, we had a reservation but they were so kind, like they knew us.). We sat on the deck, and Bill took excellent care of us. What a beautiful night! Twinkly lights on the trees and string lights are lovely nuance against this beautiful Tuscan building. And the FOOD! Oh my gracious! The Bruschetta with braised Wild boar ragu - delicious! My husband had the pork chop with diced apples on top with asparagus. That pork chop was perfect! Tender, juicy, with a smidge of a crust on the edges. Paired it with the Super Tuscan wine special. I had the Fettuccine al Funghi. The cream sauce on the hand made noodles, fresh mushrooms and I asked for the smoked cherry tomatoes. WOW! Fantastic dish all around! We so enjoyed this and will be back - with friends! 🌸🌿.
Went for dinner with my sister and her boyfriend that live in Austin on Memorial Day. The anti pasta Misto and Linguine with eggplant was outstanding. I’m pictured at the top of the staircase. The service was attentive with a great server named Paul. Highly recommend for authentic Italian. Prices were competitive with other fine establishments.
Mangia Mangia. Fantastic dinner experience. We had a dinner for 4 with appetizers/drinks and deserts so the full experience. Wait staff was extremely friendly and never missed a beat. Food was flavorful and absolutely delicious. Restaurant setting is great, tons of ambience. I’d definitely bring the family here again.
My husband and I wanted to take advantage of the Austin Restaurant Week menu. We decided to have a romantic date night at Siena. Everything was so yummy! Gina was our server and she was amazing. The wine list was phenomenal. The trout was cooked to perfection. My husband had the tenderloin which was like butter on the tongue. I had the bruschetta which was different. It was a ragu made with wild boar which I loved! Gina brought out a free dessert for us too and that made us feel really special. We will be back soon for sure. We had a wonderful night!
Siena always offers the best Italian cuisine, the pictures only share so much; the taste is beyond imagination. Upon hearing it was our anniversary, our server Greg offered the most romantic, balcony seating and made accommodations without hesitation. Absolutely, pleased with the service as much as the delicious food.
10 star worthy location and inside ambience !! LOVED ❤️ IT for my valentines date. Husband said it’s the best romantic and delicious restaurant in Austin for Italian food so far. Every dish we ordered was well prepared and served. They really have great options for a champagne (ITALY imported). The calamari, fries, chicken, salmon, shrimps and fettuccine pasta were just amazing. The attendant Joanna really took GREAT care. Thanks to her service and making customers feel comfortable and enjoy the meal. I would definitely recommend Siena restaurant to others in Texas. Thank you for a lovely time! 😊
We celebrated our anniversary at Sienna. I requested them to sit us at a special/ secluded table and they put us at the best table in the restaurant with our privacy. I got the salmon pasta, it was one of the best I’ve had. My wife got the chiken parm, tge portion size itself was for 2 people and perfectly cooked. The Hostess was a supernice lady. We plan to be back with our friends.
Update: another great meal, this time with impeccable service by Joanna! Still do wish there were more tomato based vegetarian meal options. We had a wonderful experience at Siena. The ambiance is top notch and makes you feel like you’ve just traveled to a beautiful stone building in Italy for the night. The food was delicious, but I wish they had a few additional vegetarian options, like maybe an eggplant parmigiana since they have chicken parmigiana. Most of the meat-free entree options had a heavy cream sauce, and I prefer a red sauce. I would love to bring vegan family members, but sadly I don’t think there is anything on the menu for them. Overall, a 5-star dining experience with great service (thank you, Ryan!) and delicious food. I also let them know it was our anniversary and everyone told us happy anniversary and they brought a little treat for us on the house. We’ll be back!
What an excellent place!! We loved the atmosphere, the food was excellent. We took our friends there for their anniversary; it was just the prefect place to be there. We also liked the decor. It was pricey, but for the service and everything else I did not consider it expensive- I will definitely return there!! This is definitely a romantic place
Amazing food, atmosphere and wine menu. Our waiter, Venezuelan man who I forgot the name made our 1 year anniversary much more special. My new favorite restaurant in Austin TX.
Atmosphere- I have been in the Austin area for over a year now and would not suspect such a gem to be hidden right off the old capital of Texas highway. The outside of the building is beautiful, brick and mortar with tasteful masonry, and once you step inside the story continues. This feels much like somewhere you’d walk into off of the street in Sorrento or S’ant Agnello, with a warm, romantic but exquisite atmosphere. The building has so much personality, character, and life. No other fine dining restaurants in Austin, with heavier price tags than this place, come close to what this restaurant is. Astounding. Wine/Food- Easily the top fine dining restaurant in Austin. As for the food, Tuscan, but the drink menu comes with a very descriptive map that lets you “try wine from all over” the different parts of Italy, all while providing brilliant literature on where the different kinds are all derived from. I have had weeks worth of food in Italy and Sicily and was always bummed I would never have Italian dishes in the US that even came close, I would just have to wait until I went back. But wow, this place, truly had my wife and I in awe the whole time. Joanna suggested us the Brushetta; a very savory hog dish paired with lightly charred bread that tasted like something you couldn’t even dream of, then the Mrs. And I had the Capellini con Gamberi, which was presented and tasted exactly like something I would have had on the water in Positano. The pollo parmegiano is also something that will have you wanting more. The best chicken I have ever had hands down. Finished off with the Tiramisu, topped with thinly sliced almonds instead of the conventional cocoa powder you’re used to. But wow, it was the best tiramisu we have ever had. Each dish was better than the last, especially when paired with the proper wines (servers are beyond helpful at offering suggestions) and really make this night out turn into a memory, seamlessly. Service- Joanna was our server and incredibly genuine and helpful. Most high end restaurants around Austin all have that feeling of slight arrogance coming from the servers or just disconnected. Not here. Everyone here moved and spoke with passion for the restaurant. I can see why they have been able to retain their employees so well, because it felt like you were in somebody’s home and they were genuinely excited to see how you’d react to certain foods and wines. This restaurant deserves every bit of respect and business that comes their way. Absolutely great dining experience, we will be returning. 10/10 in every aspect.
Always a great place for date night. The food is outstanding and the service is great. We sat in a quaint balcony area overlooking the rustic restaurant. This is one of my go to Italian restaurants in Austin and is great for celebrating special occasions.
I've been coming here for 15 years and have to say it's managed to stay quite lovely. I've yet to find something that isn't good on the menu. More than anything though it's a lovely Tuscan designed interior with soft romantic lighting and high ceilings which creates a very pleasant environment.
What an amazing experience and meal! This was our first experience at this restaurant. Joanna (miiiight have been Joanne) was our server tonight. We had the figs wrapped in prosciutto with the balsamic reduction to start. My husband had the pasta with the boar ragu and I had the pasta with chicken and Gorgonzola. BOTH were out of this world. Our server was knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list. We had a wonderful meal that was perfectly paced, and that BREAD was amazing and came out piping hot. We will definitely be back.
Just came across this place tucked away into the trees by driving around the area. The outside is very pretty, but then you open the doors and are instantly transformed in an elegant l, Italian/Tuscan authentic restaurant getaway (is that a thing? Haha) The moment you walk towards your table service is top-notch. They serve you bread per plate, which is nice, so the basket isn't sitting there taking up space and feels a little more special this way...not sure why haha We had the braised wild boar with grilled bread appetizer, which was a little leary of what it would taste like, but it was great. Roasted meat, could taste the grill, tender with a great rub/sauce on it, that's almost like bbq, but not...(not helpful, sorry...give it a try!) We took some home and reheated with the same great taste, which i feel leftovers are never as good reheated, but this was! Main dishes Salmon Toscano Salmon with crabmeat, shrimp, and spinach All was cooked perfectly! The spinach was not over cooked, had great flavor!! Salmon, was wonderful, as were the shrimp. The other 2 got Trota in Crosta di Noci Trout with a walnut crust, with shrimp and spinach. They had zero complaints and said it was also cooked to perfection! To top off my food comma, I had an Irish Coffee, and the table got the vanilla gelato...which sad to say I slacked and didn't get a picture, probably because I was so full and not foxusing anymore haha. It's pricey, but worth the cost, I my opinion, when the quality of food can justify the price. Will be back for sure, would like to try the porch ops and steaks. Might as well eat through the menu!! Go check it out!
This was our first time at Siena, celebrating my father in law’s birthday. It was an exceptional experience all around! Our server, Andrea was knowledgeable, charming, efficient and made excellent wine recommendations. She is a true gem! She made us laugh and we loved the wine she recommended. We shared the Schiacciata (flat bread with pears, Gorgonzola). Super delicious! Also tried the bolognese, fusilli and the chicken with portobellos and spinach. Everything was awesome! Tiramisu and chocolate pistachio torte to finish out this amazing meal!
Great atmosphere- makes you feel like you are in an Italian villa. The bread is made their daily and very good. The bacon wrapped figs are excellent and the pasta dishes are delicious. I’d maybe skip on the roasted veggies - they were good but not a must have. The desserts came out a bit strange one had good consistency but the other two were like chocolate soup.
We went to Sienna for the first time this weekend, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. We tried several of their Antipastis, including the Dry Cured Black Mission Figs and the Carpaccio. The figs were served warm stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in prosciutto with a balsamic reduction. The carpaccio was paper-thin wagyu with capers truffle aioli, roasted mushrooms, and arugula. Both were very traditional versions of the dishes, don't take that as a slight, the presentation and taste were both divine. For dinner, the six of us shared a bunch of different dishes, including the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, Gnocci al Cinghaile, the Pollo Parmigiano and Spinach and Cheese Ravioli. My favorites were the ravioli and the Tagliatelle. The ravioli were served in a creme sauce that did not overwhelm the stuffing. The Tagliatelle sauce reminded me of dinners in Bologna in small family bistros. As with the appeitzers, the entrees were all very traditional preparation executed well. We had wonderful homemade limoncello for dessert with espresso and Ameretto afterwards. Sienna has been around for a long time. They haven't lost a step and are well worth a visit when you are looking for authentic Italian homestyle cooking. #MattGoodEats
My wife and I liked our experience overall. Most of the food was excellent and service was professional. We both felt that the crostini served with the Baked Brie were too thick and a bit over baked and difficult to enjoy. We look forward to returning and enjoying another quality meal in the near future.
This is a beautiful restaurant with an expected experience that did not quite live up to it. There is a happy hour from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm, but it is restricted to the bar area and covered patio. Overall, the food was tasty, but the service was slow. I ordered the antipasto misto ($16 during happy hour). Had a couple right across and were given their items faster and additional items (e.g., bread with oil). I had to ask for a menu while the other table was provided with one without asking. It's safe to say that they prioritize parties greater than those dining alone. With this, I ordered the pollo parmigiano to go because of how slow the service was. The aesthetic was great and I recommend it for any couples celebrating a special occasion.
The carpaccio is worth a return trip—amazing flavor. Wine list is great. Our service was at least as good, or better than expected for the price point. The gentleman who brought bread to the table was an unlikely standout, especially friendly without being intrusive in any way. ... Sadly our mains were a little disappointing. Maybe just in comparison to the carpaccio (did I mention it was incredible)? ... I hate to ding a star, but will definitely be back to try again.
The food was 7/10. Fish didn’t taste fresh and pasta was okay. However, the staff was great and amigable. Had Daniel and Isabella helping our table. Super nice. From the many restaurants in Austin, this was the first that the staff was truly eager to keep us entertained and happy.
Handy hint: Please have reservations. Pretty inside. Good food. Yummy drink pairings. Dessert is is hard if you have a nut allergy. Beet salad was great...and the presentation of the beet salad was picturesque. Handicap parking is in the back which I find sad. Included are pictures of the meal and menu.
First time I went here ten years ago, it was amazing... but their Valentines preset menu was kinda mid, sadly. For the price I would expect world class, not overcooked chicken parm. Service and ambiance was top tier, though, and there are one million wines. Maybe the normal pasta menu is better, idk.
Been there a couple of times! Amazing service delivered by Joana and she genuinely cares about her customers. The appetizers are great but when it comes to main courses… something always goes wrong. They weren’t nice the first time or the second time. But the appetizers and especially the carpaccio are amazing!!! We will keep coming back for the amazing service, amazing wine and amazing appetizers. But we learned our lessons with the main courses lol.
This is a very pretty restaurant that seems to fly under the radar. My rating is only specific to the food as I don’t like to rate on service or ambience since it can be subjective. Calamari was ok, there was no tentacles (which I prefer over rings). The bread was good, but you have to ask for it and they only serve it with straight olive oil (I found this to be odd). The chicken parmigiana was not only the largest I’ve ever had, it may also be the best tasting.
We started with wine and dessert. The chocolate cake with orange marmalade. Delicious!! Absolutely delicious!!! The wine was fragrant. I also ordered a cocktail and that was so strong and delicious. Bread was warm and fresh Pasta was yummy. The potatoes were good but a little salty. Calamari was yum yum yummy. Loved the ambience. Definitely a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Definitely going back
LOVELY restaurant in an old stone building in the beautiful hill country of 360. Our waiter was Derek. He was great - very attentive and so good about keeping to my dietary restrictions! I'm pretty picky about italian food - I grew up in NY! We really enjoyed both the ambiance and food. For appetizers, we ordered the carpaccio and calamari. Hubs thought that the carpaccio was ok, but could be less dressed to let the meat shine more as the star. The calamari was amazing - crunchy and not chewy with a great aioli! Homemade bread - definitely ask for it! For the main, the gnocchi was excellent! I had the crab fettuccine - also very good! All pasta is Hand made except for capellini and penne. My son had the pork chop, which was ok, but a tad on the tough side. Normally fries are hand cut, but the prep guy was out so they had frozen - which weren't great. Make sure to bring ketchup if you HAVE to have on your fries! They don't serve it - it comes with aioli. For dessert, my son loved the creme brûlée and I loved the white chocolate bread pudding! Hubs was meh on tiramisu - he didn't think it was balanced enough between the cake (wasn't lady fingers) and marscapone. Overall a good meal - we will be back!
Ambience is very Tuscan. From the balcony, almost gives a fancy castle vibes. Truffle Fries - 5/5 Crispy, crunchy and incredibly flavorful with or without the garlic butter. Pappa al Pomodoro Soup - 4/5 Thick creamy soup, might have liked it to be a lil more spicy but otherwise very very delicious. Tagliatelle alla Bolognese - 3/5 Everything is cooked very well bit could've been more flavorful, felt like generic pasta.. Ravioli di Spinaci - 5/5 Creamy, lemon-y, cheesy, flavorful, really really good. Fettunta - 3/5 Crunchy, can taste the charcoal but not other flavor.
Great ambiance and service. We accidentally spilled water onto one of the plates and they quickly replaced it. Super patient and understanding with our requests. I’m giving it 4 stars because I think the beet salad could’ve used more seasoning. And pasta had a sour taste that I wasn’t a big fan. Loved the calamari.
Amazing hosts, beautiful ambiance! Do try the place for their ambiance and a pleasant feeling!
We went for our anniversary and unfortunately were disappointed. The appetizer a flatbread with procuitto and blue cheese was delicious but unfortunately the rest of the meal was mediocre at best. I had a wild boar pasta that was greasy with no flavor. It tasted like badly done barbeque. My husband had a chicken pasta with no flavor. We tried desert both were beautiful to look at but the tiramusu was bland and my husbands pistachio tart was just inedible. We were so very disappointed
The good: Service was great Atmosphere lovely The fried risotto balls were delicious! The Linguine con Polpetti was fine, but nothing special. The bad: The onion soup was bitter and honestly, it was inedible. The special (not sure name) with herb butter and lump crab was a disappointment. The crab was dry and the herb sauce was dry and I’m not sure how that’s possible. With a $42 price point, I definitely left disappointed. The drinks were meh and not well made.
I walked in very excited—the ambiance is beautiful—but the food was extremely disappointing. I get that this isn’t fine dining, but the quality still fell very short. The flatbread had barely any honey and very low-quality prosciutto. My partner’s short rib ravioli was actually great (the reason for the 2 stars), but my linguine with meatball and sausage was terrible—the meatball was very dry, the sausage casing was rubbery, the red sauce had absolutely no flavor, and the pasta was not even linguine (thin like spaghetti ) an thiis unacceptable for an Italian restaurant. Service was lacking—we never received water after asking. Dessert and coffee weren’t good either; the coffee tasted bitter and stale. Overall, the food felt closer to a plate at Applebees dining than an Italian restaurant. This was at 8 PM on a Saturday night, and it just isn’t acceptable for any place that calls itself a restaurant. I understand adjusting expectations for casual food, but overall it just wasn’t good.
We arrived at 7pm for our reservation and was promptly seated on the balcony. The hostess was great and very friendly. We were promptly greeted by our server but that's where it ended. He took our drink order and we didn't see him for at least 20 minutes. Finally brought our drinks and decided to order Mussels for an app. He came back to check on us and as he walked away our mussels were delivered and we ate them. They were good. Another 20 mins or so passed and came back and looked at the plate of empty mussel shells and acted like we ate them in less than a minute. It was very strange the way he acted but he was gone for over 20 mins. By this point the table next to us had got fed up with the lack of service from the same server and went and requested a new server which in hindsight is what we should have done. My wife order Osso Bucco and I ordered Papperdelle Italian sausage. He came back about 15 mins later and said they were out of Osso Bucco. Strange he didn't know that prior to us ordering, disappointing but whatever, she decided on the sea bass. Food came out and he walked over to check on everything and we said it looked good but we hadn't started eating. Sea bass was in a shallow bowl of, I guess , butter, one small potato, and 2 artichoke hearts. There was absolutely no seasoning, not even a pinch of salt. She decided to send it back. I decided to continue eating my dish thinking the server would be back soon. Wrong. About 30 minutes later server showed back up and said I can box that up for you and she said we are beyond that and I told him that it was very bland with no seasoning or salt. He seemed really confused and said ok. He finally came back and asked about desert I told him no because my wife was still hungry after only eating a few mussels. He did remove the sea bass from the check which is fine, we paid and got out of there to go get her something to eat. It was an anniversary dinner and the lack of attentive service at that price point ruined it. We have no issues with a long or pricier dinner but with only being checked on 2 times over the course of an hour and 45 minutes is unacceptable. We won't be back.
. Went here with my dad. I’m 22 years old and was quickly ID’d upon sitting down at my table. No big deal that I wasn’t able to be served as I didn’t have my license. I understand different restaraunts have different policies. The food was eh. My dad ordered ossobucca and the sauce was SWEET! I know Americans love their sugar on everything but how gross to taste sugar on my beef. Not a great purchase for $70. I ordered the mushroom pasta with sausage and chicken. Chicken was bland. Sausage was bland. I will say the pasta itself was very good quality, however it would’ve been better with some seasoning. Maybe some salt at least. Also ordered the octopus which was amazing. Super abstract flavor and perfectly cooked.
It was me and my gf's first dining here and we were highly disappointed. We ordered a few of the appetizers, the calamari and the brussel sprouts, which were good. However, the main entrees did not match the quality, especially for the price. The pasta was lacking in flavor and the chicken had a weird chewy texture and did not taste fresh. My gf also did not like her dish and stated that it was bland. I would not recommend coming here for the food. The service and atmosphere were nice, however the food is overpriced and not good. Save yourself the money and head over to Olive Garden.
The food was underwhelming, I left craving expecting something better. Our server was just okay, plates rarely cleared on time. Ambiance was excellent, wish food was anywhere close to it.
*A Disheartening Experience at Siena* Siena had all the makings of a memorable dining experience: a stunning location, an intriguing menu, and a warm, welcoming hostess who set a positive tone from the moment we arrived. Unfortunately, what began as a promising evening quickly unraveled due to the behavior of our server, leaving us with an experience we would rather forget. From the moment our waiter approached our table, it was clear something was amiss. His demeanor was visibly uncomfortable, even to the point of rolling his eyes at us on several occasions. We initially chose to overlook his attitude, hoping things might improve as the evening progressed. However, the interactions only grew more puzzling and unprofessional. When we asked for recommendations—something any skilled server should handle with enthusiasm—his response was dismissive: “Oh, that’s difficult to do.” At first, we thought he might be joking, but it quickly became apparent he wasn’t. This lack of engagement, bordering on disdain, set a disappointing tone. The breaking point, however, came when our 4-year old son innocently walked past the waiter to show his toy to his mother. Instead of accommodating or simply ignoring the moment, the waiter responded by looking at him with yet another eye roll, an action that even my young daughter noticed and questioned aloud: “Why doesn’t that man like us?” At this point, the discomfort was palpable. We tried to address the issue directly, asking if he would prefer that someone else serve us, but ultimately, the damage was done. Feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, we made the decision to cancel our order and leave the restaurant altogether. Perhaps we were unfortunate enough to encounter a server having an off day, but such unprofessional behavior reflects poorly on any establishment, particularly one as seemingly refined as Siena. First impressions matter, and ours was deeply disappointing. It’s a shame because the potential is clearly there, but in the hospitality business, respect and attentiveness are non-negotiable. I hope management takes note, as a single employee can make or break the reputation of an otherwise promising restaurant.
My friends and I came in hoping for a nice celebratory dinner. The food and service was okay. But the biggest problem was the following: There was a husband and wife having dinner not too far from us, the man was obviously drunk and talking pretty loudly. Out of nowhere, the man starts screaming and verbally abusing his wife. He was swearing and going on a tirade for about 10 minutes. There was a family next to us with children. We wanted to enjoy our dinner, but couldn't over the yelling and swearing. It was disgusting behavior and we couldn't believe what we were hearing. We notified one of the waitstaff and he said he would have his manager talk to them. Nothing ever came of it and we had to listen to this drunk man yelling for the rest of the dinner. It was very sad to see, not only the abuse, but also that nothing was done to stop it. It was very disappointing and frankly ruined our dinner.
The place has good ambience but food is not vegetarian friendly at all. They said they can make any pasta or dish vegetarian but upon asking they couldn’t or were out of ingredients. Server was okay but couldn’t translate well on our needs or provide good suggestions.
The third party app they do reservations through doesn't let you cancel within 24 hours, and says I need to call the restaurant, but when I do it just redirect me to the website to cancel where it redirects to the third party site again. I can't cancel anywhere and they charge you anyway
We were there as a family with young kids on a quiet week night. Greeted with great food service, but the people in the front, without much understanding, told us that our kids were too noisy and that we are not welcome to the restaurant anymore. Don’t go there with young kids that might sometimes melt down. I took the noisy kid outside once the melt down started. And apparently we are still not welcome and appreciated. Good luck running business without family.
Our experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, the host—an older woman—was passive-aggressive and unwelcoming due to a miscommunication with our booking. She curtly informed us, "You need to read next time when making reservations." While we tried to overlook this initial encounter, especially given the positive reviews we had heard, things didn’t improve. When we were seated, our server, an older gentleman, was dismissive and rude. He interrupted us while we tried to order drinks and appetizers, rolling his eyes as he sharply stated, "No, just drinks first." When he finally returned to take our order after a twenty-minute wait, I asked, "Can I get the calamari?" He responded coldly, "Are you asking or are you ordering?" I assumed he was joking, but his expression remained completely serious. The dismissive behavior continued throughout the meal. At one point, both the host and the server got into a verbal altercation with another customer, forcing him to leave. Although the food was good and arrived at a reasonable pace, the overall experience was tainted by the poor service. Despite the pleasant ambiance and quality of the food, we won’t be returning. The entire ordeal left us wishing we had left ourselves.
This was very disappointing experience Food - below average quality and testing. Such a big restaurant was out of spinach and potato and while our reservation was bit late at 8:45 pm… it’s unusual for restaurants to run out of such basic ingredients. Although website says vegetarian friendly… there were literally 4 menu items which are vegetarian. What we finally got was unseasoned pasta mixed with sauce and some vegetables which were left in stock Service - our server was not at all enthusiastic and when we asked for suggestions for vegetarian dishes she just said you can make any pasta vegetarian but had no suggestions. We were still ordering and no heads up given for last order as kitchen was closing. When we tried to order more sides as our food options were limited and were not well prepared, we were told kitchen is closed hence we can’t order anything. Obviously she didn’t ask us about desserts Ambience - is good and decent cute restaurant Overall would never go back again and with so many good restaurants in Austin would suggest to find much better alternatives then visiting this place
Absolutely in love with the decor. No questions there. Service was ok but when asking for a wine recommendation going straight to the second most expensive wine in the list was a bit much… Food in all honesty was just so bad. Pasta had probably been left on the pass as it was clumped together and even the sauce couldn’t get it apart. Boar meat was really dry and a big disappointment. But in general the pasta style is butchered and over Americanized without just offering simply delicious pasta in the style you’d find in…. Siena for example. It was heartbreaking to our group who had planned this as the highlight dinner of our few days together and not one person liked the food. The host was massively embarrassed and I hope you can improve the food because the atmosphere was just so amazing.
