Opinions de Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffé Avenue A
If I could keep the existence of Veniero’s a secret, I would. It’s one of those places local people go to and have been going to for a long, long time. I love it, I take friends there, I go there on special occasions and I know that it will be just as good as I remembered. Tried and true.
I’ve been trying to make it to Veniero’s for the last few trips to NYC and it was absolutely worth the wait. Walking in was a little overwhelming in the best way possible with so many incredible desserts to choose from. The real highlight of our visit was Emma. She was incredibly kind and patient while helping us decide, which ultimately turned into getting one of everything. She took the time to describe each pastry in detail and made the whole experience feel special instead of rushed. She truly created an experience my family will remember forever. She even let my daughter help wrap one of the boxes using their classic string wrapping machine which completely made her day. By the time we left we were so happy with the experience that we even picked up a couple of Veniero’s t-shirts. Amazing pastries, amazing service, and an experience we will be talking about for a long time. We will definitely be back next time we are in New York.
Went here with a friend of mine walked in and it didn't take long to be seated which is nice. We enjoyed the drinks, I got the cupccino no sugar and my friend got a chamomile tea and the desserts were delightful! We basically shared a mini tramisu and mixed raspberry cheesecake. Additionally, what I loved was the ceiling panels and the lighting. Waiters are very friendly and quick, this place is a must!
Veniero’s had been on my list for a while after someone mentioned it months ago, and we finally went this weekend. We went on a Saturday morning around 9am and it wasn’t busy at all, which made it easy to sit, relax, and actually enjoy the space. We sat in the dining area so we could have coffee, pastries, and catch up. We ordered cappuccinos and Italian cookies, and everything tasted very authentic. They don’t offer milk alternatives (I usually get oat milk), but that wasn’t surprising given how traditional the place is. I’d definitely go back, especially to grab pastries to go and try the Italian cheesecake. Unfortunately we couldn’t take anything with us this time since we weren’t heading straight home, but it’s high on the list for a return visit.
Veniero’s Pasticcereria & Caffe-Dazzling array of desserts. Sit down service as well. Plan ahead. Do some recon by reviewing the menu before arriving. They serve individual pieces or an entire cake. Fantastic Pistachio Cannoli. But really just about all of their offerings are delicious. Must visit if in the area.
This place was awesome. Just what you would expect from the oldest Italian bakery in NYC. Everything was delicious and amazing. The service was polite and the atmosphere so authentic and classic. It was our first time so we went with the mini pastries in the smaller box just to try everything. Really enjoyed the experience and the pastries. Will definitely be back here.
Venerios has always been our go to bakery for many years and it never disappoints. Their baked goods from cookies to cakes are absolutely delicious and amazing. Today, Emma assisted us and was so attentive and kind. Thank you so much for your hospitality. And if you spend more than $30, you get a complimentary calendar. Have a wonderful holiday.
my friend wanted tiramisu for his birthday so i searched for the best in the city & veniero’s came up. my friend was familiar with the place but had never gone so we’re decided to give them a try. the vibe is very cozy but busy pastry counter with an amazing selection. the tiramisu changed his life, & now when he thinks of tiramisu this is the one he’ll picture! i also tried the chocolate mousse which was yummo!
TL;DR: Classic East Village bakery with tons of variety priced by weight. Great to grab a mixed box after dinner. Consistent quality and fair prices. I go every trip. Veniero’s is my go to pastry stop in NYC. You can mix and match minis instead of committing to one big cannoli. I like the fruit tarts, the chocolate chip dome, and the small layered cakes. Everything has been fresh and not overly sweet. The vibe is old school New York with long glass cases and a steady crowd. It gets busy at night, but the line moves. Prices feel fair for the quality. Pro tip: build a small box so you can taste a few different things. Easy walk-over stop after drinks or dinner, and you can usually eat outside if it is not packed. Staple spot.
We visited Veniero’s and picked up a box of pastries. The strawberry tarts were fresh and creamy, and the cannoli with pistachios was delicious. What I really liked is that the desserts weren’t overly sweet, and the small size makes it easy to try different kinds at once. Everything looked beautiful and felt homemade.
It’s a very classy cafe, the decor is beautiful it transport you directly in the late 1800s. The place is huge and you have a ton of option for pastries. We got the carrot cake and strawberry cheese cake, both were excellent and fresh. The service was quick and good. We totally recommend this place if you are around.
Veniero’s is hands-down one of the best dessert spots in NYC. Every visit feels like stepping into a sweet little piece of history. Their Fruit Tart is an absolute showstopper. The buttery crust is perfectly crisp, the custard is silky smooth, and the fresh fruit on top is always vibrant and bursting with flavor. It’s as beautiful as it is delicious. But the real star for me was the Fruit Cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness, it strikes the perfect balance. The fresh fruit topping adds a refreshing, tangy contrast to the dense, luscious cheesecake base. It’s one of those desserts you dream about days later. Service is friendly, and the old-school charm of the place makes it feel warm and welcoming. This place is an East Village gem. Whether you're grabbing something to-go or sitting down for a coffee and dessert, you can't go wrong .
Ended up here walking by and got an incredible surprise! A piece of history and tradition!

The cakes are just great. I do orders twice or three times a year for myself and family. It usually involves a cannoli cake with rum, or a custard cake.
Been here many times if I am in the city. A large Choice of pastries to choose from. The service was great too.

The best Italian cookies in New York City. We've been going here for years and I often get several pounds of cookies to go. You might have to wait a few minutes in line. Good service.

waiting in line to get in always makes it more worth it. The pastries, cheese cakes and cookies are among the best in NYC. I can never stop coming here.
Like walking back in time - beautiful display of their pastries, very affordable, and you can tell the product is made with love and care. Wish there was a place to sit and enjoy these tasty treats
Sad to see fall be gone, wish fall weather could just stay forever. Venieros is a really great place for some Italian desserts. It is authentic and the pastries taste delicious! The pastries have a rich and authentic taste to it. It’s also not too expensive. They go by the pound, and you can try a variety of different pastries. The fruit tart, eclair, and cannoli came out to be $2 each, while the cheese cake was $6. The cheese cake and pastries tasted really good. Overall, the pastries were really authentic tasting and not artificial. It isn’t too crowded and it was a short 5-10 minute wait to get the pastries. The cashiers and workers were polite and fast. Overall, would recommend this place. It has an old school touch, vintage, cozy, and homey vibe to it. Price: $12.75💸 $6 cheesecake + $2 each for pastries Rating: 9/10📝

Stepping into Veniero's is like stepping back in time with its ornate counters & surrounds. All of their pastries are amazing but you definitely must try the original New York cheesecake - sublime …
We ordered the mini cannoli, a NY cheesecake, and a cappuccino. I wasn't entirely satisfied: the cheesecake was too crumbly and lacked creaminess, while the cannoli had clearly been filled a long time ago, making them soggy and dull in flavor. As for the cappuccino, it didn't even come close to the quality you'd expect from a real cup of coffee. Given that this is an Italian restaurant/patisserie, I expected a much higher standard. I’d suggest they take a trip back to the motherland to see what real desserts and coffee should taste like. On a positive note, the staff were friendly.
I used to come to Veniero’s all the time to pick up treats for family and friends. I came back today and the host said I had to wait for him to sit me because he’s busy. Another staff came by and sat me. Ordered what I wanted and waited for the bill…nothing. Went up to pay at the register and not a single word, just rung me up (the same host). Didn’t look at me, didn’t say anything. Only time he looked up was when I was inputting the tip. Sad to see what has happened to one of my favorite spots in NYC
Veniero's Pasicceria & caffe is a small, cozy Italian bakery with impressively efficient service. They offer a wide selection of pastries and cakes — some even sold by weight — which makes browsing the display case a real treat. We ordered the New York cheesecake and two different cannoli. It was my first time having a cannoli, and it did not disappoint. All the pastries held up beautifully during our two-hour trip from there to Connecticut, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. A wonderful stop for anyone who loves authentic pastries done right.
We were looking for some dessert for after dinner and this place was closed by. We had some apple mince pie, a slice of tart, a puff pastry with fresh cream and strawberries and affogato. I think some of the dessert like mince pie should be warm up for it to taste good. The Affogato was a bit small and the tart was extremely sweet with no other flavours to cut it. Overall, big place with many seats and a great varieties of dessert to choose from!

Somehow we'd missed this place, has been around since 1890 or so. Very good cheesecake, had Irish coffees with it. atmosphere reminds of Ferrera's in Little Italy.

I was here last November and it was excellent. I made a special effort to return on 24 June and the cafe was shut. What a waste of time. I won't bother again.
The service here is shockingly bad. The young staff at the to-go counter were friendly and helpful, but the dine-in experience was a disaster. After purchasing cakes, we tried to sit down and order coffee and gelato, only to be rudely turned away by an older male server, who refused to let us dine in at all. Another staff member at the dine-in register was equally cold and unwelcoming. No explanation, no basic courtesy. The Napoleon cake is fine for take-out, but the dine-in desserts are mediocre and absolutely not worth it. If you plan to sit down, avoid this place.
