Great cafe, excellent service. Typically packed to the brim with no availability on Saturday nights. Get there early. Some of the best hookah in the city. The staff and door men are very friendly and helpful. If they can't seat you they will recommend an alternative location. The cafe also serves great food. Belly Dancer fills the evening nights through the end of the week.

I had a birthday party over the weekend at this place and I had a fantastic time. I had a party of 18 people and the service was impeccable. Hookahs are top notch and taste delicious. The food was great (lamb kabob, chicken kabob, various salads) and the presentation was fantastic. I thought I would have a problem with the drinks, but it turned out that they were very strong having been made with Korean Vodka. My only gripe is finding parking in the location took a lot of my party members an average of 25 minutes so get there early. I will def. return to this place for dinner and hookah again. The belly dancing show was pretty fun as well.

The experience at Horus Cafe was literally exceptional! But that is mainly because of our server Youssef. He was amazing. Anybody who goes here, make sure you request for him. He was extremely attentive. Whatever you need, he would be right there making sure that you are receiving great customer service. We literally didn’t even have to struggle getting a drink. And whatever the request, he would quickly provide. I want to thank him and the owner for providing us with a memorable experience. I’ve now become a loyal and constant customer. You won’t regret your visit, here at Horus Cafe on Avenue B!

No one enjoys a disappointing meal, no matter how good the service or atmosphere. I chose the AveB locatiion for the space. We came from CT..to spend an eventful day in the city. We have enjoyed many meals of this cuisine and this has been The Best . I became a fan of Babargobush right here! . It was much more refined and elegante in taste and this is an appetizer. The triangles of pita was hot and satisfying. My companion had the Lamb kebobs andI had the Beef Kofta.. severed on a sizzling ornate drums, with rice, salad and tahini . Trust me, we wanted to order alot more. Everything served well and with our perfect host. They also have Hookas here so the air will be aromantic and lively. We were at the end of our visit and too stuffed for dessert.. It was a great visit. Oh the drinks we had was a lemonade mint .. not much mint and not tall enough for the 9$ price. Ask for water if you desire.. its not customary it appears. No room on the tables. Our meal was able to use the tables next to us, Staff are very accomdating and geniune here. You can get the true Egyptian platters. We're looking forward to it .

I had such a great time here and can't wait to come back! There was a live DJ who was playing a little bit of everything. I loved the vibe. The hookah was good. The french fries were delicious. Most importantly, the staff was accommodating, very friendly and attentive.

A bunch of our friends came to this lounge/restaurant last night and we had a GREAT time. The food was excellent- I ordered the Macarona Bechemel. The staff and servers were extremely warm and friendly. The hookah was amazing- we had grape with mint. The music and belly dancer was INCREDIBLE and so fun. Definitely a 5 star experience and I will be back.

Amazing little hidden gem in Manhattan! Loved the Egyptian food experiences. Their three appetizer platter was fantastic. Try the fava beans- I loved it! Hummus was perfect and the moussaka - delicious with a kick! Also tried the Egyptian national dish - Koshari. Such a fulfilling meal :) made me feel like a warm hug. Extra kudos to the manager lady! Incredibly nice and great service. Seems like I missed the Egyptian tea this time around but will be there soon again.

We had a really good time at Horus. The atmosphere was super chill laidback vibes. Customer service was on point for the most part; it started out really good but as the night went on we started seeing our server less and less frequently. (For perspective: a couple sat next us and left after 30 mins of just sitting there and not having their order taken.) It took us 20 minutes to get our server's attention to close out the tab. I understand he got busy and seemed somewhat flustered. I share all this to say I’d definitely go back. The atmosphere, DJ, and hookah (which came out with 10 minutes ordering) make this spot definitely worth tapping into if you’re just tryin to cool out.

Horus Cafe on avenue B has great belly dancing and dj nights on Friday and Saturday! Open and serving drinks, food, hookah with a side of beautiful smiles all night long. Not only do me and my friends love coming here but it is our go-to spot on weekends and weekdays to relax. With warm weather open seating outside as well.

The food was affordable, very tasty and flavorful, with their steak and eggs being one of the best I've had in NYC. They also offer a bottomless brunch option of $40 with the purchase of a brunch item, which the choice from a wide variety of flavored mimosas, bellini and sangria.

The first time I went we were told that there's a 25$ minimum per person before midnight. I don't think that rule actually exists but it's what the bouncer told us. The hookah is delicious; served in a pineapple! The belly dancing is awesome and the drinks are great. It's easy to blow a lot of money here for the hookah, drinks, and entertainment but it's definitely going to be a good time

This place is great for dates or groups. Hookah is standard, nothing special but the servers check up on your hookah regularly. The neighborhood has a chill vibe and it's easy to hop around from place to place. Depending on the bartender drinks are watered down or just right. They also play a variety of music and have a belly dancer!

Great to visit especially if you are looking for Arabic and Halal food in NYC, the food taste is average but compared to the others in the city it's considered delicious, recommended if you don't have kids as they are not allowed inside, the outside area was cool but now its summer and weather were very hot, prices are a bit higher than the others around the city, I tried the mix grill, Mulukhiyah which was great, but the cream caramel and the cheesecake weren't good at all, they do also have Hookah, in general, it was a good experience.

What a cool place! We stumbled upon Horus Cafe during the last night of my bachelorette party. I called them ahead of time to see if they were packed since I had so many girls with me and I asked the person on the phone what the vibes were like. He told me that people were dancing, there was a DJ, and it was good vibes. I was a little worried cause most hookah places with a DJ are always super loud and clubby and that was just not what we were trying to do but we decided to give it a shot and I was so pleasantly surprised!! The vibes were good! Everyone was just hanging out in their respective areas smoking hookah and having drinks. Their menu was a little pricey so beware but overall, it was worth it. There was even a DJ playing amazing arabic music, american pop, and even bollywood music. People were dancing but some were just sitting vibing. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. I was seriously so happy and could not have asked for a better end to my bachelorette night.

Great Egyptian Place. The appetizer mezze platter is very good. Get the sheesha with the ice hose. Worth the extra $10. The sheesha is excellent. Food is made fresh so be patient. Love DJ Mina when he’s there. Make sure you give the belly dancer a tip or she will harass you and keep reaching her hand to you for money even if she sees you getting your wallet out. Lmao. Never again for the belly dancer.

Good spot! Decent Turkish Coffees, good hookah (w/ice straw). Just a little bit expensive. And when we ordered drinks they kept bringing 2 of each that was ordered in the hope to overcharge us.

We got some appetizers and one entree (veggie kabobs) Nothing great or nothing bad about this place, food, drinks and service. We haven’t tried the hookah but it looked fun. A one time try.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been back here and I was a little disappointed. The food & service were okay, a bit pricy. I got mint tea, veggie quesadilla and hummus & it was close to $60, w/tip $70+ . I notice the deterioration of the interior. There were holes in the seat cushions, the decor was dated & the floor was sticky… every time you took a step your shoes stuck. My feedback to the owners would be to update a bit.

Outdoor dining setup was great, private booth with heaters, call buttons given to get the attention of a waiter, and mask up when they come in to the booth. 🍾 choice was La Luca which was nice. Food - NYE Fixed menu: Apps included Dolma (warm and nice spice flavour), Baba ghanoush, Humus and some really good Falafel served with Tahini and warm pita bread. Main course was slightly disappointing - mixed grill - the meats were over cooked, so was dry and the side of rice was unimpressive for a Mediterranean spot. The Veg option came with just additional zucchini and mushrooms grilled. The salad was probably lazily put together unfortunately - cut up romaine with a few cucumber and tomato slices. Tabouleh would have been a nice option to say the least. Dessert - now Bakhlava is a fine art, and we are a gard crowd to please when it comes to desserts we grew up eating. So, I'd give it 5/10 for effort, was just a little something sweet-ish to end the night with. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - Thank you!

I was at this place multiple times and I know the price for hookah. I gust giving two stars, not one Star because they have a good hookah. The place do a tricky business. By the end of the night they put out menu with a hookah price and bring the bill with a different price My bill was $50 for hookah which normally cost $35 (I’ve ordered one flavor on pineapple head) I’ve payed total $77 for one hookah and two glass of tea I’m ok to pay this price for a good quality. I gust hate to be cheated

My husband and I had iced tea there today. The restrooms were clean and we were not rushed to finish. We were very surprised at the high price for iced tea - $8.50 each. There was nothing special about it. We had delicious iced tea on Broadway in a lovely atmosphere yesterday for half the price.

After having a wonderful experience at another Horus lounge, we decided to try this one. While the hookah was excellent, the service from our waitress was NOT. She was rude from the moment we came in, charged us for incorrect items, slammed drinks on our table and snatched our menus. The guy working there has great service on the contrary. Maybe she was having a bad day… but girl… take a break. The attitude was unnecessary and made me uncomfortable. Food was ok! She’s the main reason for the 2 stars. DJ was great in the beginning as well. Nice environment and fun crowd! Where I come from… you give a tip for standard service and excellent service. Therefore, we did not leave a tip. We were accosted at the door to be told that we did not leave a tip… We know. It was intentional. The service from our waitress sucked. Possibly because we were black. The other ethnicity’s in the building received good service🤷🏽‍♀️ Sorry… we deserve good service as well. There’s a tip for you… give good service to everyone!!

Great hookah. Ambiance is beautiful. Staff was decent… I’ve only been here twice. However, I was there for 30 minutes and saw a cockroach the length of a hookah tip. Very disappointing because I really did like it here for the most part. Now I’m scared to return and left immediately after bringing it to the server’s attention… there was no compensation and I did not get to enjoy my hookah.

I’d give 0 stars if I could... My friends and I called in advance to make reservations, and upon arrival they forced us to sit outside. We politely asked if we could move inside several times and were told that they were at full capacity. 1. If you are at full capacity; why would you allow for us to reserve a table? 2. What’s the point of making a reservation if we are forced to sit outside? 3. We walked inside several times to use the bathroom and saw at least 5 tables open. I’ve never been treated this poorly in my dining experience.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Came here for a friend's birthday only to be greeted by the waitress with a terrible attitude. She constantly rolls eyes while taking your order or abruptly leaves before you could get your order in. After our first round of drinks, our entire group expressed dissatisfaction. This woman's reply was that "it's been on the table too long so I can't take it back." We explained that we had 1 sip of it and if she hadn't taken so long to come back and see if our order was okay, that's not our fault 'how long they were sitting on the table.' We asked for the manager but he/she never came. Several orders later and this woman took forever to bring our orders or she would simply forget our new drinks. She did not come around and we had to keep flagging down other waiters/waitresses. At one point, this woman came to the table to tell us "everything will be on one bill because I'm getting confused." We asked her if she's getting confused why not just write down the orders? She again replied "I'm just telling you, I just work here, I don't make the rules." I again asked for a manager but no one ever came. Get it together lady! If your attitude is that sour, maybe you shouldn't work in an environment with people where you need to wait on them and take their orders! To top it off, they charged me a $20 service fee for holding a cake I personally brought in for my friend’s birthday. I was told they would bring it out, serve it with sparklers, and write her name on the cake board. I brought in stickers and asked them if they would be able to apply the stickers to spell out Happy Birthday and I was told there was no need as they write it in icing. Fast forward to the cake..when I had enough of this place and asked for the cake to be brought out I was told I had to wait... and finally when it was brought out.. my friend was given 2 sparklers to hold in her HANDS and there was no writing on the cake whatsoever. Finally, the “manager,” who never once introduced himself when we asked for management, CHASED after us to say how appalled he was that we only gave a $10 tip for a $300 tab!!!! In my opinion, $10 was way too generous and he should be grateful they even got that much!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Food was okey, hookah was good , place was cosy to chill and manager was very nice but chubby waitress was the worst of all times. This place needs to get rid of her otherwise this place will go bankrupt soon. I am not coming back there until she leaves! Also couch we were sitting was kind a broken and very uncomfortable.

Agatha was our server- the seats were horrible at 9 PM. The place was not packed but we couldn't sit in any of the good seats because all 4 sections were "reserved". We came with a group of 6 people ready to eat and drink. They couldn't arrange better seats. Our backs were killing us. They said 1 minimum drink per person after they made us order a hookah. Then they said 1 drink per person. Yeah. I had to order a ginger ale since their service sucks. Thanks, but no thanks. They won't get my $ again

Shisha, hookah and food was good. The manager was our waiter which he deserves 5 stars HOWEVER The other waitress (chubby one) when bringing out the food, came and bumped and hit my shoulder HARD, (didnt even say excuse me) We asked our waiter/manager to move because the couch was uncomfortable. 3 minutes later she comes with ATTITUDE saying who let you move there. She wasnt even our server…. She runs around like a maniac just disturbing the vibe and honestly looking at the reviews made me realize this problem has been going on for over 5 months now

Came here on my date night because it has a “higher review” than our regular spot. We got there they were at maybe 5%-10% capacity, we asked to sit outside since it’s a beautiful evening. We asked for one of the larger tables since there was only one other one occupied out of 10 others and the waitress told us we had to order a lot of food to sit there. We graciously sat at the smaller table and waited at least 15 minutes to which the waitress never came back and we see her smoking hookah and tending to people inside. We eventually got up and left since we had been waiting 15+ mins and never got to put in an order. Just really poor service, especially for our first visit.

When we arrived, she looked at us with an attitude. the menu, that's no way to respond I wanted to order some chicken tacos she answered the same thing where she had come before and they had served me the chicken tacos she was never able to return to the table and ask if she was okay we tried to call her and she just ignored us I think she shouldn't be in a place like that if she doesn't like dealing with people I would love to go back to the place but without being served by her the worst waitress I've ever seen but everything super good I think her name is MIMI

We called them at 3am and they told us to come in. We got there and ordered our drinks and hookah and paid right away. They literally grabbed the hookah out of my friend’s hands as he was smoking it, BEFORE 4am. That is THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Without any warning, they just take away hookah and drinks that we paid for. That doesn’t make any sense. Before letting people into your establishment, let them know that you’re going to confiscate the things they paid for and also include gratuity in the bill. A 5 or 10 minute warning would be nice. I work in the service industry and we would never EVER do that because we know how to treat our guests, especially when they paid a good price. HORRIBLE SERVICE. They do not care about you after you’ve given them your hard earned money. You’re better off going home and going to bed than coming here.

This was hands down one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve never been treated with such blatant disrespect and rudeness in a place where I’m paying to be served. First off, the waiter had an unbelievably arrogant and dismissive attitude from the moment we sat down. As he was putting the food on the table, my butter knife fell on the floor. When I politely asked for a new one, he literally walked away mid-sentence with a hand gesture that said “whatever.” We had to ask two more times. His response? “You won’t need it, you ordered rice.” Excuse me? I don’t need a lecture, I need basic utensils. When I asked again, he didn’t even bother bringing a clean napkin or knife, he just grabbed the napkin from my friend across the table and handed it to me. When she asked for a replacement, he said, “She doesn’t need it because she got a shawarma wrap” and walked off like we didn’t matter. It was absolutely shocking behavior. The food: mediocre at best, exorbitantly priced for its poor quality. The atmosphere: Uncomfortable, awkward, and cold. There was zero sense of hospitality; I genuinely felt unwelcome the entire time. Then came the final straw: after we paid, we asked for boxes to take our leftover food. We were ignored the first time. I had to ask three times before someone finally brought them. And the second they handed us the boxes, they immediately started clearing the table while we were still putting food away, as if they were trying to kick us out. It was aggressive, rude, and completely uncalled for. This place doesn’t deserve anyone’s time or money. I left angry, insulted, and completely disappointed. If you care at all about being treated with basic human decency while dining out DO yourself a favor and stay far away from this restaurant.

ordered takeout and they refused to take off a 20% gratuity not honest people. bad vibe all around
