We walked in by pure accident. No plans, no hype — just hungry. And let me tell you, sometimes that’s when you find the real deal. The borscht? Thick and honest. Not that watered-down tourist stuff. This one’s got body, flavor, and soul — the kind that slows you down after a long day. The dumplings were spot-on. Juicy, well-seasoned, good dough — nothing fancy, nothing fake. Just done right. And that shashlik… hot off the grill, smoky, tender. You can’t fake that kind of flavor. That’s hands-on cooking, plain and simple. What I liked most — they’re not tryin’ to impress you with trends or pretty plates. They’re here to feed people right. And these days, that means a lot. Sometimes the best places ain’t planned. You just follow your hunger — and it leads you somewhere good.
My family and I went there on 12/10 for my wife’s birthday. Everything about this place was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the owner takes a lot of pride in the restaurant. My wife is originally from Russia so she knows her Russian food. She loved having her birthday dinner there. We will definitely be going back, hopefully on a weekend, so that we can enjoy the live performances. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thanks, Eugene and the rest of the staff for a nice experience!
I love Tatiana! It has a large selection of delicious Russian food. I went there for lunch the other day and had Harcho, a Georgian lamb soup that was so tasty and unique. My second course was Siberian Pelmeni, boiled dumplings the size of a bottle cap filled with veal and pork which was a total treat. Since I have eaten there before I knew to bring home Salad Olivie a mixture of eggs, potatoes, chicken, celery and mayo garnished with petit peas and cocktail tomatoes. I have never seen it on any other menu. I also brought home the cold tongue Salad and two extra orders of the Harcho. The restaurant is on the Brighton Beach boardwalk and a short walk to Coney Island.
Amazing place with a real soul of Brighton Beach! I had the borscht here — rich, flavorful, and served perfectly with sour cream and dark bread. Sitting by the window with a view of the ocean made it even more special. You can feel that “old-school Tatiana” charm — calm music, sea breeze, and that warm nostalgic vibe. Definitely one of the best spots in Brooklyn to enjoy classic Eastern European food with a view! (Photo taken right at the table — that view says it all!)
I celebrated my 40th birthday at Tatiana’s and it was beyond anything I could have imagined. I grew up going to the original Tatiana’s as a kid, so returning decades later for this milestone felt really special and they absolutely delivered. The food was outstanding, the service was flawless, and the performances were unreal. Every detail was so thoughtfully executed. My guests and I were completely floored by the whole experience. Tatiana’s made my birthday unforgettable, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
This is one of the very few Russian restaurants left standing in nyc that has a 5 star experience each time you go. Ive been to two birthday parties here with the banquet inside with live shows. Each time I have been here the tables and decor is beautiful, the service has been outstanding and the food was excellent from start to finish. You will get the full russian experience of a five course meal with cold cut plates, pickled plates, elegant french salads, bread and butter baskets and then mains of kebabs with fried potatoes, short ribs, shrimps, paella style rice and lamb chops. I also love how you can BYOB which is a big part of the experience. The drinks keep flowing with unlimited pitchers of russian fruit punch and sodas. I love the entertainment here, they have really good russian dancers who do a global show of can can dancing, tango and flamenco, ballet, folk dancing and belly dancing. I also love the way they sing happy birthday for all guests, you can so a group photo and the mc calls your group to light your candles. I love how the dj and live singers keep the party going all night with the latest hits that are russian american latino and jewish too(they also take any requests). I have easily partied here both occasions until 2 am, they know how to engage with the crowd and please everyone . Dessert is also included in banquet with fresh fruit coffee tea and pastries. I have not been a fan of their pastries thus far, theyve been dry and lack luster. I hope they can invest in more options like cookies and baked goods , not just some sad dry napolean cakes. Otherwise everything else has been tasty thus far.
Great location for a restaurant in warm months. It has a bay view. Tables are right on the boardwalk. Breathing fresh bay breeze while enjoying your meal or just a cup of tea. That's exactly why we came for. We were looking for a place where we had tea with fresh black bread and butter, but couldn't find it, I believe they closed, so we stopped here. We had tea in a tea pot with fresh pastries (Medovik, which is Honey pastry, and Sirniki) . Everything was very delicious and very fresh. Just by drinking tea with the sweets, we got so full, didn't have a place for dinner. The service was fast. The waitress was very polite and nice. I love this restaurant and recommend it. Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, New York
Highly recommend! Far from your casual (or cheap) boardwalk takeout, this buttoned up boardwalk delight serves excellent food with great people watching. The servings are generous. The dishes are spot on and the service is efficient. Give the surprisingly delightful fresh vegetable salad a try. The red borsch is crisp and refreshing. Consider the black mussels. They have a delicious savory ocean brine to them. The homemade honey cake is a subtle treat. Enjoy!
This place has been a part of Brighton as far as I can remember. The food is very authentic, and so is the service :) Eating here looks and feels like I'm back in the USSR, take that as you will!

The lambs and beers were delicious. Excellent service, very friendly and attentive. It was my second time in Tatiana and also is in front of the beach.

A rare and different/delicious culinary experience! Try the braised short ribs which are sublime. The bartenders are great and even remembered my name. Worth the wait and expense!!
I love this place for good food and perfect location near ocean. My favorite when I’m here is pork kebab. Delicious! Thank you for Our server Angelina. She was very polite, fast and friendly. Also they made look better outside terrace But only one thing I don’t like here it is terrible restroom. Only one cabin “working” but even doesn’t close. Everything very old. Even roof in restroom looks like falling down.
For a prime outdoor seating experience on the Brighton Beach boardwalk, this is the place. You can enjoy a Baltika or cocktail with unobstructed beach views, a rarity in this neighborhood for dining al fresco. While Brighton offers a plethora of fantastic Russian and Uzbek culinary options, the real value of this establishment lies in its unique real estate. Yes, the service can be a bit lax, but everything slows down on the beach.
the last time I was here almost 15 years ago, this time I was pleasantly surprised by the second understanding of this word, I was shocked by the service, or rather, without service, there was no service, but I was pleasantly surprised, as always, delicious food, well, not very cozy, very loud music, but the show was wonderful, I give you a five, I will still give you a four, although you deserve a three, but thank you, well done, I hope to visit you soon after the renovation, which will be completed soon, see you soon thank you for your business you are cool even after so many years ;)
Great time! Try them on the weekend for their fun show. It’s a Vegas style show was very fun. They had singing, dancing acrobatics and more. I let felt like those tourist shows you go see when traveling to another country I really enjoyed it. Restaurant is situated on the boardwalk so there’s a lovely view in the back
So we had no idea we were gunna eat here. We wanted to go to the beach and came across this place and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The cheese in the adjaruli was so fresh and delicious! The mussels were yummy but they were quite salty, I would ask them to not add salt if you order them and the calamari were great! The owner came by our table to talk to us which was nice and he was happy we were there trying the place out! I think this’ll be even better in the summer!

Food is average, prices are high, gratuity was added to bill and service charge of 3% for credit cards. Applebees sounds wonderful in comparison.
With change of staff restaurant is much better. We lovef the shrimp scampi, bronzini and salad we had was overpriced for what you are getting.

Food was good. Could be better. Service was ok. My 2 dishes came way earlier than my friend’s plate. A $46 item was mistakenly added to the bill. Service charge was added. 15% service charge was also added without any disclosure. In top of that suggested tip was listed. Not nice…
Nice spot to have lunch or dinner. Service needs help, got cocktail before water... main dish came before appetizers and still no water... until we asked again. My partner dish was not completed.... but was good - Pelymenie. Overall, food is good, but not service. Wish the server was checking on us a little more. A little pricy for the experience. 3 stars because we liked the dish and dessert, and it was a nice spot on the beach.
The dishes were very well prepared, especially the shish kebab. Overall, the flavor combinations were thoughtfully put together. However, a major disappointment was that we had to wait over an hour for our food, and people who arrived after us somehow received their meals before we did - we watched it all happen. The waiter kept apologizing for the delay, although we didn’t order anything particularly complex, just kebabs and dumplings. I don’t believe those dishes take nearly an hour to prepare — maybe 20 to 30 minutes at most. It seemed to us they just forgot our order. It felt as if we had been forgotten by the staff, and we were hardly given any attention. I had to stop the waiter myself to ask when our food would be served. As for the atmosphere in the outdoor foyer, it didn’t feel very welcoming as there were piles of items stacked on top of each other, almost like a storage area, and that really ruined the overall look of the space. Other than that, everything else was fine.

The food was not great, no taste. We had banquet and realized that the portion is smaller than should be. They even forgot to bring some of the food which showed they are a completely unprofessional business. The short guy who apparently was watching how waitresses are working should learn by himself how to work. The show was nice but short probably 15 min. Gave 2 stars only for atmosphere. I will not recommend this place.

Unbelievable how terrible all the food we ordered was. The garnish on all the dishes was visibly old, dry, and wilted. The salo we ordered was pulled directly from the fridge and was horribly stuck together. The red caviar was of exceptionally poor quality. This place is an absolute scam. MAYBE they'd give you something good if you came in speaking Russian, but this place is just a disgusting trap riding on a name and history. If you absolutely must go here, get alcohol and NOTHING else.
I went to Tatiana for lunch and unfortunately had a very bad experience. I ordered the Pojarsky cutlet. At first, I was pleased with the presentation—the plate looked nice, and the portion size was generous. However, the moment I tasted it, I realized something was very wrong. The cutlet smelled like old lard(salo)and the inside seemed to be made of at least 80% bread and bread crumbs, with very little meat. I managed to eat only one of the two cutlets because I was hungry, but it was not good. The waiter was polite, but the payment process was very unprofessional. Instead of bringing me a bill, he asked me to look at the computer screen, requested I pay in cash, and automatically charged a 20% tip—then even asked for more. In the end, I gave 10% extra without really understanding why, since it all happened so quickly. The worst part came after I left. As soon as I got home, I developed severe diarrhea. The problem continued into the next day as well, which makes me suspect the food was not fresh or safe. ⚠️ My advice: Please avoid eating at this restaurant—or at least do not order the Pokarskiy cutlet.
Worst experience…they judge you how you look…your skin colour if you are different colour don’t go there…waste of money…the food is disgusting…we don’t even serve properly we waited 30 minutes then they came to take order…we spent $144 we can’t even eat the food…the manager named Isabella she refused to give us the receipt… we ordered seafood and there is a parasite on it…
First of all we had to wait 20 minutes just so they could ask for our drinks, then we had to wait 20 minutes just to get our drinks and 40 min to get our food, tell me why we had to wait almost an hour for chicken nuggets that they definitely bought?!!!!! Worst restaurant I’ve done in a while! If I could put 0 star I would unfortunately I can’t. Honestly McDonald’s is a better option.
