Los Panchos is an excellent Mexican restaurant that has an excellent Sunday buffet. This buffet was what we experienced. Several Mexican food staples were present - Steak for tacos, Chiles Relleno individually made. Excellent rice and beans. Mimosa’s came in several varieties. The original tasted the best. Consider this place for a sit down Mexican restaurant that executes the staples well without a lot of pretentious fluff. Might be a bit understated for date night, but the food was delicious.

The interior might be outdated, but it was clean. The service was friendly, fast and professional. The food tasty. We had carnitas plate, shrimp cocktail and carne asada taco plate. The rice and beans were flavorful but not as salty as I like them, an easy fix( my doctor might have liked if I left as is) the meat was well seasoned and perfectly cooked! My lunch buddy enjoyed a margarita!

A great atmosphere with wonderful staff and excellent food. The entire time we were treated with near royalty service and impeccable hospitality. My drink was never empty and salsa and chips were plentiful. I had the veggie fajitas and they did not disappoint! Quite flavorful and crisp, fresh vegetables sauteed in a perfect blend of seasonings. My father had the carne asada fajitas which came out sizzling filling the air with the great aroma of the skillet. Altogether an amazing place to have a delicious meal!⁶

My experiences with Los Panchos have been amazing the staff are wonderful they're helpful kind they have personality the owner is friendly he often chats with customers when they walk in they have the best fajitas and menudo in all of Bakersfield the atmosphere here is inviting warm and captivating the atmosphere draws you in and you got so immersed in your food that you forget all about everything outside of that restaurant even time itself you savor every bite you hang on to each moment of bliss that the wonderful taste gives you all in all this is my favorite Mexican restaurant ever

I went on a Saturday it was pretty lonely but the food was great I got the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Had to get some of the chiles torreados for some extra spicy flavor and they were delicious. Also got a patron margarita which was very good and stronger than any other bar I’ve been to which was Great !

DOS: 2/2/2022 Food: ordered the chili verde enchiladas, rice, beans, flour tortillas. I think the staple of any good Mexican restaurant is their beans and rice. Let me tell you, this place has theeee best beans. Remind me of the way my mom made them! The rice was just meh for me. The chili verde is not spicy, which is good for me because I can't handle too spicy. Overall, I thought the food was really good AND the tortillas are made there and very tasty! Drinks: They serve coke products and I got the Diet Coke. I did not care for their drinks as they reminded me of the taste of hospital water if that makes sense. My sister got the ice tea and she said it was good. Service: Pancho was not here on this date, but he is soooo friendly and would get 10 stars. The older lady that works there and has helped us both times we've been there is not nearly as friendly. In fact, I would give her just 2 stars. Though she did seem to be in a better mood the 2nd time we were there. Overall I would recommend this place, I go for the beans and tortillas alone 😄

I had the Menudo and it was delicious. The tripe was tender, clean, and filled with flavor. The guacamole was spicy, they ask if you would like to add Jalepeno to it...of course I did.

The chips were warm and any restaurant that has black and white old time photos on the wall means you are going to get excellent food and service. The owner came by and was very nice. My first time being to Los Ponchos and the food and service was AMAZING 10/10 the Waiter Carlos was attentive and kind. Refilled my drink whenever it was low and was here with fresh chips whenever we were low. The prices are amazing for the amount and quality of the food. I even ordered take out for my brother. 10/10 would come again.

Stopped here on a trip from Vegas to San Fran. Had tacos, chips and salsa and a margarita. All were very good, especially the salsa. The service was excellent as well. The woman serving us was very sweet. Really glad to have stopped here instead of in-n-out which was the original destination.

Fastest service and friendly staff with amazing authentic mexican food that comes in huge portions! Definitely come hungry or plan for left overs! Being a Federal Holiday, I stopped to spend time with family and take them out to eat. Los Panchos is a favorite spot for my family. Staff, atmosphere, food, cleanliness, speed of service are all a 5 star from the 1st time visiting to the visit the other night. The food's flavor is delicious! Food is reasonably priced. Cooks always do an awesome job for us. People should stop here to try it for the first time or return to revisit a great place. Keep up the great job!

Still good food but tbe owners have changed. Like everybody else the prices are getting higher each time we go. 16.99 for a 2 item plate is alot. But as I said these prices are about the same as everyone's!!! As long as the did stays consistent we will be back

The food is great and so is the service. We tried the camarones rancheras, coctel de camaron and the menudo. All were good. They serve roasted chile salsa with the chips, very tasty. Tried a couple of different drinks from the bar and they were all great tasting. They have a separate full size bar. The establishment is very clean. I understand they have a facebook page. I will be back.

usually the food is better, but i dont know what was going on that night. i recommend staying with the enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, etc.. what i got was a tostada salad and it was literally just the shredded meat and shredded lettuce 😐 felt like wet cat food in my mouth. i asked for a side of rice and beans as well and it was obviously old. could have been better.

Service was great. People are super friendly and nice. Take care of you when it comes to refilling your drinks. I got to say this food is not authentic mexican. Is white wash food. Salsa verde enchilada was salty dry. Chile relleno taste so bad i didnt even finish my food. The only thing i liked was their salsa that they bring with the chips. My bf got a coctel. That was not your authentic coctel de camaron had so much juice he had to fish the veggies and shrimp out of that. Sorry but i will never go back. One family in the entire restaurant on an extremely hot evening where everyone is out to eat. So, why aren’t they here? Something is definitely sketchy and off. The restaurant was super dark, outdated, dirty, and depressing. There wasn’t one light on in the bar area. Service was fine, food was just ok… they didn’t have any avocados for guacamole which I’ve never heard of for a dinner service. Public Health department grade sign was nowhere to be found- nowhere posted near the front entrance. Will not ever return as a first time customer.

Pretty sure this place is a front for laundering money, because it's always a ghost town in there and it closes so early. I've been there twice, and the first time was just ok, I got a burrito to go, and drank a beer while I waited. The second time, I went with my friend. We walked straight into the bar area, and sat down at the bar. The bartender looked at us like we didn't belong there. He asked what we would have and I asked for a big plate of tacos. Bartender said that I couldn't afford to eat there because the tacos were $5 a piece. I asked "what should I order then?" He handed us menus and said "look at the menu and choose something, tell me what you want. That's how it works" I looked at all their expensive prices, decided that I would just drink a beer. I looked up and said "2 beers please". He's still looking at us like we didn't belong. I turned to my friend, and struck up a conversation. After about 5 minutes, I looked up, and the bartender was no where to be found. Ghost town. I guess he was right, that place was obvs too expensive for us, so we left.
