Love buying food from this spot when I lived in Hempstead. Now I’m in West Islip I still drive all the way to this location for my favorite jerk chicken with vegetables & rice/peas. They also have yummy stew oxtails & crispy fried chicken. Will keep coming back!

Wrong order again I do not live out here I travel 1 hour to get this food yet it’s wrong again an the young lady they have she seems new she do not write down what the order is white meat or dark meat but today it was a guy got it wrong 2 times in they got my order wrong please train your staff am a food critic I am not going to write a review on my blog yet but it’s going to happen an about that lady who serves she has an attitude she needs training u don’t know who comes in your for food n I can write a review that will mess up your business fix this the girl who had the baby need to come back the other people are not good at the front counter an the girl with braces is great also other staff need training

This is the third time this place has completely messed up my order, and at this point it’s beyond careless, it’s just plain lazy. The worker asked exactly what I wanted, repeated it back, and immediately packed the bag, so there was zero reason to expect anything was wrong, yet here we are again. Once the food was handed over, it felt like the only goal was collecting the money and rushing you out, not actually serving customers. This place clearly does not care about accuracy, quality, or customer experience, and it shows. Read the reviews and believe every negative word they’re not exaggerations, they’re warnings. Do yourself a favor and check everything before you leave, or better yet, don’t put yourself in the position to be disappointed at all.

I’ve finally decided to review this restaurant after multiple purchases over a period of years. I find their food is good ie. the oxtail platter. However, if you get there by 4-5 pm they usually run out of it and do not make any more for the day. Today, I purchased the stew peas with beef and found their soup thin, watery with little flavor, no peas, no potatoes, and few dumplings. It had what looked like one piece of cassava that looked cooked down in something else and the meat extremely fatty and tough. Let me be clear, their platters are generally good but oxtail will not be available after a reasonable certain hour. The soups are highly questionable now since I called back to inform them of my dissatisfaction and was told there was a change in the staff that made the soup. She stood by and defended the current quality of the soup after refusing to taste the soup as asked. Think twice about purchasing soups there, due to inconsistencies.

Food is amazing as always but the staff just work so slow sometimes youll sit and wait 35 min for a small rice and chicken Thats unacceptable 2 times i went on my work break and i could not eat the food because i took to long to recieve it and i had to get back to work staff has to move a little faster

MY FATHER ORDERED A JERK CHICKEN PAN DAYS BEFORE FOR A FAMILY GET TOGETHER .WHEN HE WENT TO PICK IT UP THE ORDER MY DAD CAME HOME FURIOUSLY SAYING THE FOOD WAS NEVER PREPARED OR IN THE MAKING. WHAT DID YOU BELIEVE THAT NO ONE WAS COMING TO PICK UP FOR THE ORDER? OR DID YOUR INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES FORGET? WHICH I DOUBT FOR SUCH A BIG ORDER YOU WOULDN'T FORGET SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THIS LOCATION IS NOT READY TO OPEN FOR CATERING. PLUS I SUGGEST YOU TO TRY OUT UNIONDALE LOCATION. I DO HOPE THE CHICKEN IS NOT DRY JUST AS MY LAST ORDER FROM THIS PLACE HAS BEEN. BUT I DOUBT IT BECAUSE OF SUCH A RUSH I HOPE THE CHICKEN ISN'T UNDERCOOKED?

Service is really disappointing.. hasn’t changed over the past several years. I don’t understand why it takes 10 minutes to answer a phone then hang up, to place an order. No hospitality, and then people wonder why mom and pop shops like this close 👎🏼

I got 2 orders of jerk chicken with rice and peas medium at $30. The rice and sweet sauce is really good. The chicken is ULTRA dry and hard. Doesn’t taste like real jerk chicken either. It’s giving stew chicken not REAL jerk cooked on a bbq grill. Also 1st Jamaican restaurant I been to where they give a bunch of breast pieces and NO thighs. And yes breast are dry in general but legs shouldn’t be soo hard and dry. Def NOT worth the price. Keep looking

I live in the community and go to this restaurant for convenience because I know good Jamaican food as a Jamaican native & this place isn’t it. Everyone is so rude at this establishment. Every time my husband orders jerk chicken rice & peas they pile up the rice more than the chicken. The jerk chicken is so dry make sure you have water to wash it down. Please do better taxes are really high in the area and the community deserves good Jamaican cuisine.

Bought half of Jerk Chicken and this is what was placed in the box! Definitely got the extra sauce I wanted but where is the 1/2 chicken! Definitely not worth $10.

The jerk chicken was extremely dry and over cooked. I could not eat it. I have ordered here before and have raved about the freshness and taste of their jerk chicken but not today. I cannot believe what they gave me. I brought three dinner for family members and I hope their chicken was better. I should walk there and get another serving. Look at this chicken.

I have gotten jerk chicken here before and it has been delicious, moist and fresh. Well today, I got the bad batch. Very dry, overcooked…not edible at all. Don’t know what happened. Just look at this chicken. I should walked there and get a replacement.
