Came in since there was no wait and quite frankly completely empty but we are so glad we did. We ended up staying for about 3 hours with tequila specialist Hannah helping us out. She was fantastic. I had the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. Best brunch I’ve had in a long time! Will definitely be back!!

This food was amazing! Service was also incredible. 10/10 would recommend the Carne Asada Fajitas. The chips and salsa were also unreal. Big win overall.

Stumbled upon this place on a late Saturday night where most other places required a reservation, Blue Agave did not. The restaurant was full & the crowd was diverse. The food was good & well prepared. The staff was friendly & made great recommendations. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Food was delicious, drinks were great, service was wonderful and it was all that expensive! Definitely going back

Went there for a random weekend and wanted mexican food. Google was very helpful to point me in the right direction. The quality of the food was perfect. The food was nice and hot and packing flavors. I also ordered the PAMA margarita 🍹 and it was made well. They were playing some music 🎶 and it made the ambient feel better. I definitely recommend this place overall.

We always have a good time. Good $5 mimosas and good service from the waitstaff and Hosts. The steak and eggs are good, so are the pancakes and wings. The Pambazo could use more meat and they should get more liqueurs like Midori. But those are small things, it’s wonderful other than that. We are going to make this a birthday tradition with our friends❤️

Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. We had apple cider margaritas, a fondue dip with crab to start. We had entrees of fish tacos, beef burrito and baked salmon with garlic, sweet potato and steamed garlic spinach. The drinks and food were flavorful and delicious. The bar side had great dance music playing. We ate on the restaurant side, so we were able to converse comfortably. I would definitely recommend it. #DivaSaidSo ❤️💛💚🍹🤤

Had a great time at Blue Agave. The service was great, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was also fresh and had flavor profile. I enjoyed trying the mushroom tacos and shrimp tacos they were very good! I also tried the fried avocado, but honestly, honestly, it was not my favorite. The meal came with complementary chips and salsa that were also very good. Enjoyed with a housemade sangria .I will definitely be back to visit for happy hour and recommend it to my friends. I also loved the Hispanic music that was playing. I wish they had a salsa or dance class available during the week. It was a really nice vibe and cute ambience.

Great food. The atmosphere was awesome. Got to eat out on the street side dinning. Wonderful experience. Will be back. Had the carne asada burrito 🌯. Delicious 😋.

Great happy hour tacos!! We shared a taco flight to sample all their happy hour tacos. My faves were the carne asada, chicken and shrimp. I got Mexican beer this time but I'll come back for the margaritas next time. Will be back for more!!

The place was great! It had a really big bar and seating all around it. The staff did a great job, they were polite and helpful. The food was beyond fabulous and the drinks were amazing! I went to the Sunday brunch and they had $5 mimosas that were so big! I’ve added a picture so you can see… I definitely would recommend this place if you’re in Maryland!

The food was delicious. The flank steak was tender, the shrimp was tasty, and the dessert was amazing. Everything was very good.

Mickie (sp) was our waitress. She did a great job of suggesting drinks and food. She extended excellent service. I didn't get pictures of the main dishes, but every thing was well seasoned and fabulous.

I wasn't sure what to expect upon arriving at this restaurant. I elected to sit outside, which was a great idea. It's right on the street so it has a kind of cool vibe. I had their flight Margaritas which I definitely recommend. It was a fun way of just experimenting with different flavors. My favorite was the house by far even though I followed up with a couple of Dos Equis Amber's afterwards. My fajitas were really good. All in all, really good dinner experience and I will definitely be back.

Blue Agave is an iconic Federal Hill hangout. 3 outside tables. Lots of inside seating. Bar and tables. Service is excellent. Food is good. Price is more expensive than other Mexican places. Free nachos and salsa (mostly mild but you can add some hot sauce). Street parking isn’t easy but isn’t impossible. Highly recommend.

Blue Agave Mexican Restaurant in Baltimore is a standout destination for those seeking an authentic and vibrant Mexican dining experience. The moment you step inside, the lively decor and warm atmosphere create an inviting setting that hints at the culinary delights to come. The menu features a delightful mix of traditional Mexican dishes with a modern twist, including savory tacos, enchiladas, hearty burritos, and flavorful fajitas. Each dish is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, ensuring a burst of flavor in every bite. The restaurant’s margaritas are a highlight, crafted with top-tier tequila and fresh ingredients, striking the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. Another must-try is the guacamole, which is prepared tableside, adding a personal touch to the experience. Service at Blue Agave is consistently excellent, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are eager to make your dining experience memorable. Whether you’re a fan of bold, spicy flavors or prefer something milder, the menu offers something to suit every palate. In summary, Blue Agave delivers a top-notch Mexican dining experience, combining delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot for both casual outings and special occasions, making it one of my favorites in Baltimore.

Blue Agave is a great neighborhood spot, especially during happy hour. The complimentary chips are fantastic. The salsas definitely require you to doctor them up with lots of hot sauce, but they taste amazing after you do. Happy hour tacos are served on flour tortillas not corn, but the amount of meat filling is very generous, and there is plenty of freshness to make the first bite as good as the last. The margaritas here are very solid as well. The fact that they have Modelo Negra on draft is 🤌💋. Very satisfied with the offerings as well as the vibe at the bar.

The food was the best I had in Baltimore. Blue Agave concluded my road trip perfectly. Try the food, stay and eat the food, pass out while getting taste overload with the food. Alyzae made sure we was taken care of, she was attentive and kind beyond words! Make sure you tip her well!! Thank you Blue...be back soon.

I was in town to visit and we came here fresh off the plane about 2 o'clock. Although this isn't true TexMex, the food was great. The beans could have been a bit more flavourful (as they were bland) but the quesadilla and taco were goo and full! They do not have a frozen margarita machine (they use a blender) which leaves the margarita it bit more liquid than expected. The service was great. I'd definitely go again.

My wife and I were traveling home from a long weekend with friends. After about 3 hours we wanted a nosh and at least a drink for her. We ended up downtown at the Blue Agave. Full disclosure, it wasn't our initial choice. The first was closed with no hot water,, and the second for some unknown reason. It happened to be across the street from BA, which looked the most inviting, especially for outside seating. Their tortilla chips were thin and crisp. Not hard like some and not fragile like others; a nice in between. They came with pico and 2 salsas: roasted and green. I liked all 3, and the roasted salsa was the better of the two in my opinion. Drinks came next. Since I was driving I had a negra Modelo. My wife had an el Jefe margarita. Margaritas can be very iffy, usually large with lots of mix and only a little tequila. This one was in a lowball glass (I just dated myself) but well crafted with Don Julio Anejo and Grand Marnier. She had a second. We shared the Agave Sampler with shrimp quesadilla, jalapeño relleno, guacamole, pico de gallo, a chorizo empenada and sopes topped with red chile sauce and lime crema. The hostess was friendly, as was our server. A very pleasant surprise.

We had a lovely time at Blue Agave! I dont get out to this area very often so, this was my first time visiting. The dining room was roomy and well decorated. The traditional chips and salsa (!!) were there and tasted great. 3 really good options in the salsas. We ordered a pitcher of skinny margaritas and the first pitcher was really good, so we ordered a second. It was NOT as good... for some reason it was really bitter. But, ultimately, we did not return it or anything. Everyone really enjoyed their dinners. We went with some of the house favorites including the chile relleno and the Alambre burrito. I had the burrito and a side of the AMAZING mashed sweet potatoes. After a bit of rest, dessert for all. Two shared the flaming Sundae en Fuego and I had the smaller single serve fried ice cream. A really wonderful and filling meal. I hope to come back soon.

Great Mexican food, great service. They give you chips and salsa every time you sit down. Cood beer, good prices. Been coming here for over 10 years.

K

The food was delicious and came out quickly! They have happy hours deals on select menu items. The tacos were $2.50 each and the small plates (which were more food / value than expected) were $3 - $6. It was a great way to try a couple items at a great price! The service was also great and the atmosphere was lively. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely go back!

I visited for the first time on a Saturday night with a party of 10 for my nieces birthday. The seating was perfect for our large group. Our Server was lex she was very bubbly patient and knowledgeable of the menu. We had a few people with food allergies in our party let and the Manager was great with ensuring there was no cross contamination. The Manager was a younger woman very energetic and approachable. She greeted me personally about my special food allergy and stated ahe didn't want me to leave hungry and would love to find something on the menu for me to eat. The restroom was very clean there's only one stall for woman and men. Service was fast receiving our food. The drinks were great not watered doen at all. I definitely will visit again.

LOVE!!! The place is super cute. Our server, Shay, was so attentive and had great recommendations. The chips and salsa were delicious (I loved the salsa verde) and the tacos were great too. We got the churros for dessert. Also had the horchata, a tequila and mezcal flight, and 2 margaritas. All delicious. Perfect, no notes.

Brought 12 of my business colleagues here last night after the Ravens game. Called a few minutes ahead of time and walked & our table was set up waiting for us. Queso & Guacomole were outstanding. Fayitas with shrimp and chicken were amazing! Shrimp were large and seasoned to perfection. Tess the manager was so attentive and accommodating. Herbie our waiter was the bomb! Another Best of Baltimore Treasure. Thank you Alliance Group!

The food was good the drinks were even better, most people got safe choices like street corn or a taco, they really enjoyed it. Thanks for everything Claudia. There's no parking infront of the restaurant but there is a near by garage.

Perfect little stop for a Cross Street Market area bar crawl. The Margaritas are fun and impactful. Staff and regulars make the experience memorable. Must try!

Went here for the first time on New Year's Eve 2023 with a couple of friends. I actually liked this place, but they weren't too crazy about it, and my friend said his fajita dish was dry and not seasoned properly. My Burrito was fresh and tasty, though it could've been a lot more food inside of the burrito, especially for how much they charge for it. $25 for a burrito is wild! Lol. But I did enjoy it, their service was good, and I really like the ambiance and setup. This place wouldn't be my first choice, but I would definitely come back here.

M
Michele Loving

I do like the fact the hostess when sitting you she asked are they any allergies. I said Dairy only. Their french toast was flat and eggy. But even when milk is not added, still make sure it's cooked evenly. I found out that they make their french toast drenched in condensed milk. So I will be making it a home for now. It was too hot to cook this morning. For brunch, $5 mimosas in a 32 oz plastic container. I had to ask for an orange juice back. There was no balance between the juice and wine ratio. Too strong.

M
Monica Denogean

The ambiance is great and a nice place to have drinks and dessert. My friend and I were not a fan of the mole enchiladas. The sauce was super sweet and we are used to the chocolatey smokey authentic flavor of Mexico. My friend ordered deep fried tequila bites since we'd neve heard of that. They were strong bites alright! See pictures.

Sam Beed

I had only been here for drinks but we checked it out for dinner and it was delicious! It was a busy Friday night but we were accommodated quickly. Starter chips and salsa are great. A few delicious margaritas later I had a taco salad with blackened shrimp. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection.

S
Siddhesh

Friday night and ofc bit crowded. The shrimps in the Camarones tacos were separately chopped and fried in spices which gave the tacos a really good flavor, but the tacos smelt like raw fish. They should stack double tortillas as a single gets wet & tears easily. I guess the server was overwhelmed with orders & it seemed she even had to make the drinks.

The food is great! The atmosphere is great! Nice place for a date night.

Eh, my breakfast burrito was really mediocre. For one, I was expecting to be able to hold the burrito and eat it, but it was covered in sauce and kinda soggy. Once I was finished in the dining room, I went and sat at the bar. This is the reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 3. Emily is one of the best bartenders I have ever come across. Her personality is infectious and you can tell she loves her job. She was also responsible for the 90s/00s playlist and had Sunday brunch hour lit. She is the only reason I will give this place another chance!

I tried this spot for the first time today after work about 4:45pm. I ordered the carne fajitas. I had a margarita while waiting. It was a really great atmosphere. The waiter was friendly. The music was pretty loud, but it was happy hour. Perfect time if you’re dining alone as I was. The margarita was perfect and well priced at six dollars. I took my fajitas to go, but they were delicious. I ate everything that came with them including the rice. It’s five fajitas which is a very nice portion. All in all, I would definitely go here again.

Took my parents for brunch and it was a decent spot. Our server was great and the manager was really nice making sure all tables were okay. They have some of the best chilaquiles I’ve had in the area! Love their green sauce and they’re so tasty and not spicy. I had their tres leches pancakes and they were delicious! My parents told me their meals were great so I guess we’ll be coming back!

L

Dropped in on a late night tip and it surprised us bc we didn’t expect much from this bar. The tacos were good. The carne asada was just a little on the salty side but good. The soup was really good!! I love a thick tomato based soup. Came back for more of the soup the same week. This is a very straight forward Mexican food joint. Great food for what it’s worth.

R

It was Father's day dinner. We chose to sit outside as the weather was pleasant. Loved the prompt service of nachos and the dips came with those. Our waitress was very nice and was patient with our orders. We tried Ceviche for the first time and loved it. Tamale and fajitas all were good except the beef one. The beef was chewy and did not taste good. Otherwise it was a beautiful experience.

Olivia was our waiter and she did a good job. Food was delicious, it just took awhile to come out. But worth the wait! The habanero wings crispy was to die for. Will definitely be back.

I had a decent experience at Blue Agave recently. Here is the breakdown: The Food: This was the highlight of the night. Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh, and packed with authentic flavor. I’d definitely come back just for the kitchen’s work. The Service: No complaints here! The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept the meal moving at a good pace. The Drinks: This is where things fell a bit short. The margaritas were just "okay"—they tasted quite sweet and had a more artificial, syrup-heavy flavor rather than fresh lime and agave. I will say we paid double tip because they automatically add 19% gratuity to the check.

N
Nikhil Timilsina (Hawadaari)

Overall not worth the hype and price you pay. The good: complementary chips and salsa Bbq wings The bad: $35 "premium" margarita pitcher was just a sweet lemonade. Had to buy extra drink (tequila shots) to mix on it. Pork Taco was dry. Outdoor seating is a tiny wobbly picnic bench.

C
Charles Davis

The pros of this place is has a cool atmosphere/vibe and the staff is friendly. Also the food comes out in a presentable appearance that looks appetizing. That’s the first part to enjoy any good meal after all appearances everything right or should I say just half the battle lol. Where they fall short is the taste. The food lacked any real soul or authentic flavor, palette of traditional Mexican cuisine. All of the dishes were rather bland, and the Carne Asada meat was not well trimmed as it had an unsettling amount of fat. Also, the drinks/cocktails were not even moderately strong. They had a very small amount of actual alcohol in them. All things considered this was my first and last time visiting this place. Hopefully someone else has a better experience.

C
Candi Coated Secrets

There is a 19% gratuity added to every check no matter those size of the party which I believe is why the Service was so poor. Our waitress seem to have an attitude every time we asked her for something and this was our first time ever going, we even had to get the guy who brought the food from the Back to the tables to go get some of our stuff cause she forgot like our drinks and stuff And the tacos weren’t really all that good but the chips and dip were pretty OK

L
Lyndsay Banks

The atmosphere isn’t enough to save this place. The food is terrible - nothing has any flavor, which is genuinely hard to do with Mexican food. We came for brunch - we sent the chilaquiles back because it was basically soup. The Mexican omelet was nothing special. The only thing you could taste in the breakfast burrito was the red salsa and it was overpowering. And the breakfast potatoes were the saddest potatoes I’ve ever seen. They were basically boiled, unseasoned potatoes. Yet, after adding salt and pepper, they were the only part of the meal that was edible. You can see from the photo how little we ate. For the price, the quality of the food is unacceptable

P
Pinky Adrien

Let me start by saying that the decor is great, rustic and true to the overall theme. The food was poorly prepared, even the salsa was gut wrenching and that was surprising being as though that is the easiest thing to make. I watched as some of the servers fraternized with one another behind the bar. This place can use better management and a solid chef, that knows how to make authentic Mexican dishes.

M
Mya c

Came in sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before being greeted by a bartender who came over from her conversation with a customer that lasted a while with an attitude, she didn’t have knowledge of out of state ID’s which is weird . We ordered a flight and she she didn’t explain which liquor was which . Gave us a shot glass of cranberry for a chaser lol . First time experience 0/10 .

L
Lauren Smith

The food here is okay, but not worth the price they charge. The portions are pretty small for the price you’re paying. They also automatically charge a 19% gratuity on every order. They say it’s to ensure their wait staff is properly compensated…. why rely on your customers to pay your staff a livable wage?? The service was poor. There’s no incentive if they know they’re going to be tipped well regardless of how they treat the customer. Never got drink refills or the to go box I asked for. Order came out wrong and had to correct it. It took a while to even have a server come take our order in the first place after we initially got our drinks. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, so I’m not sure why service was so slow. The atmosphere is nice, but we won’t be back.

K
Kim Bowen

Food was bland and flavorless. Food was extremely overpriced for the portion given. Portion sizes extremely small and prices extremely high, not worth it at all. Would’ve been better off going to Chipotle.

S
Serious User

Unsanitary conditions and terrible food! I can’t underscore how bad this “mexican” food is—flavorless, unseasoned and a waste of money! We had the quesadilla, tacos and the taco salad—we thought it was a joke how small the portions were, how cement like the beans were and how tough the taco filling was not to mention there was hardly any filling in the dishes. Employees play on their phones and then make your drinks touching fruit and adding it without cleaning their hands. This place is an embarrassment to Baltimore’s mexican food scene. Don’t come here for good mexican food—you will be disappointed.
