I have never ever tasted such wonderful food until I came here! Everything was magnificent, staff was amazing, even the drinks was out of this world! I went for Mothersday and their was a specific menu but I would go here everyday if I could. A little expensive but it's well worth it and more!

Took my mom for her 55th birthday before a show at the Hippodrome. Conveniently located in Harbor East. We valet parked. Note doesn't start till 5pm. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and made her special night perfect. And the food and drinks were worth the price.

Very attentive service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. Had the lobster bisque and the swordfish topped with crab. We were so full that table of 4 couldn't even finish the key lime tart that we got to share. Everything was well-cooked, deliciously seasoned, and well plated. The coffee was smooth and robust.

One of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore to have a special dinner with family. We started with the signature Mai Tai, one of the best I’ve had. The Canoe for Two appetizer featured Szechuan ribs, spicy tuna roll, lobster potstickers and crispy chicken spring rolls. The lobster potstickers were so delicious my 5 year old son begged to have an order as his entree (he’s an evolving foodie). The lobster bisque was superb. My husband and I shared the butter seared scallops which they divided for us - the creamy coconut black rice served on the side was delicious as well. Our older son had the Classic Four, which is a nice sample of four popular entrees (when you cannot decide): hibachi grilled salmon, butter fish, ahi and coconut crusted Mahi Mahi. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with the pineapple upside down cake. Service, as always, was impeccable.

My waiter was very helpful and attentive. The food was amazing! I was seated in under a minute. My first course was lobster potstickers that were amazing my date ordered the szeuchuan ribs which he loved. Second course i ordered the wedge salad my partner got the miso soup. Main course i ordered the ny strip steak with lobster mac n cheese while my partner ordered the surf and turf and surf. Oh and the rye me a river drink was A-mazingg.

The food was delicious! Worth every penny! I had shrimp and it was great! The absolute best for me because I love dessert was the chocolate lava cake! It was delicious!

I had a great time here. I call this the Ruth’s Chris of seafood. The atmosphere is wonderful, fairly upscale. The server was pretty attentive until the end and he provided good recommendations. We had the classic four which is a sampling of four popular fish entrees. The mahi mahi was my favorite of the four. I had the poke bowl which was fairly small portion but light. We had the soufflé for dessert which was awesome - highly recommended. Overall very good and I recommend this for date nights.

Charm'tastic Mile

I went to Roy's Harbor East on The Charm'tastic Mile for lunch and had their signature Wagyu Burger. I have to say it was special. On a previous lunch their I enjoyed the Short Rib. They have a wonderful Aloha Hour (Happy-Hour) the G.M Ryan & Exec. Chef Matthew run a 1st class establishment.

Excellent. Lobster tail and filets delicious. Got the canoe for 4, all very tasty. Wonderful birthday with family. Chocolate souflee for dessert.

The mango mojito and the Lobster Potstickers were an amazing afternoon, pre-dinner drinks and appetizers.

First time at Roy’s was for Baltimore Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. Location is in harbor east right on Aliceanna Street. Valet is available for dinner. ($9 with validation). The restaurant itself is nice on the inside and has a warm ambience that sets it apart from most places. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a few drinks and the restaurant week special which included three courses for $35, a great deal for this type of higher end cuisine. Everything from the crab Ran-goons, to the lamb shanks, to the chocolate torte was cooked perfectly and the flavors were so rich and decadent. I will definitely be coming back to sample the full menu.

I rated Roy's last year with 5 stars and it is still an amazing 5 star review. I go every year with my husband for our anniversary. This year, due to COVID, we did carry out. I was slightly concerned about doing carry out. My concern was not necessary, because everything was amazing. The food was well prepared, the sauces were on the side so nothing became soggy, and the curbside pickup service was excellent. As always a great experience (even if most of it was at home) with amazing food.

Really enjoyed every facet of this dining experience. Quite relaxing, and David was a superb waiter. Although I dined alone, I received very attentive service. I chose one of the specials for the evening, Roy's Trio, with salmon, butterfish, etc., beautifully presented and the quality and taste of the food was extraordinary.

Sorry, the company of the bartender (Ms. Mo) and the amazing drinks made me forget to take pictures before I ate. We stopped by because we were hungry and waiting on our movie to start. It happened to be restaurant week too...You won't be disappointed. The food, folks atmosphere is positively amazing!!!!!!!! If you are in the area is a must visit.

Overall my entire experience was wonderful. I went for happy hour with coworkers and had been there once before, but was pleasantly surprised by the service and food/drinks. They have a great $7 happy hour menu, and I highly recommend the 1988 cocktail (although I wouldn't drive if you have more than one!). The lobster pot stickers and calamari were delicious, and the tuna was very high quality. I absolutely recommend Roy's as a place for happy hour or dinner, you can tell is it a hub in Harbor East!

One of the best experiences I had while in Baltimore. Everyone there was extremely attentive and informative about the menu items. They treated us like Kings and Queens and the food was amazing. The portions are not the largest but that seems typical of places of this caliber. Pretty pricey, but well worth it, dropped $110 on an appetizer, two meals, and a couple of drinks, and I would do it all over again.

We ordered several appetizers, sushi and a single entree. We did not like the shrimp tempura. The sauce was overpowering and very salty. But everything else was so good with amazing service that they are still 5 stars

Came here for takeout, was not disappointed! I got the pork ribs and asparagus and on the recommendation of the awesome waitress, I also got the mashed potatoes and gravy. Ribs were meltingly good, asparagus was garlicky, mash was buttery but the gravy was the game changer, lovely umami flavours with nice little chunks of mushrooms - heavenly! I love it when the staff know and love their menu, can't wait to come back and try more next time I'm in charm city.

This restaurant was awesome! We came on a night when it was not busy. We were on a timeline to get to the theater but I wish we had not been in a hurry. The server was attentive. The food was great, from the potstickers to the pineapple upside down cake. Yum!! I had the jumbo prawns. A little overcooked but prawns are difficult to get just right. My date had the salmon. It was great! The manager came by and was super friendly and accommodating! Overall a great visit. I will go back!!!

We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary. The sushi was superb. The other dishes were also very tasty. I sampled the braised beef and it was my favorite dish of the 6 entrees we ordered. Our waitress Traci took a photo of our group as a memento and we received 2 complimentary souffles. I would recommended that maybe they use a cell phone in lieu of a point and shoot camera because our photo was dark and grainy.

The staff was unbelievably pleasant and attentive. The food was top notch. By far my favorite was the side dis Lump Crab Meat Fried Rice. I could order just a plate of this and be content. Food was a bit pricey, but thought the quality more than made up for it.

Absolutely amazing food. I don't even understand how they make it taste and look so good. Good drinks too. Never had a bad experience there. It's our favorite place to go for a special occasion.

The food was seriously so delicious we couldn't stop eating. We loved everything, the amazing service and the fun experience we had tonight! We had the edamame starter, then both had the 3-course world tour meal. He had the dumplings, which he loved and I had the calamari salad. I would probably eat the calamari salad every day if it could, it was that good. For mains, we both had the 48 hour slow roasted short rib, which was so tender you didn't need a knife to cut it

Had dinner at Roy's with another couple. Nice looking place. The main room is quite noisy. Fortunately, we were seated in the back room which is less noisy. Roy's is billed as a fusion between European and Hawaiian cuisines. I expected this place to offer food that was amazingly delicious. We were seated promptly, and the service was excellent. We split two appetizers. The calimari had a coating of crushed peanuts in a piquant sauce. It was excellent. The other appetizer had raw tuna. I avoid raw fish. I was told that it was delicious. We split two entrees. The New York strip steak was very good and was cooked medium rare as ordered. It was very good, but not great. The other entrée, the Mahi Mahi, was thought to be excellent according to the women. I was not impressed. Getting the car back from the valet took a bit longer than I thought it would. We tried to get our server to give our ticket to the valet before presenting our bill, but, apparently, that's not the way they do things at Roy's.

We went to this Roy's in the very new and upscale Harbor East section of Baltimore for lunch during Trawler Fest in late September. My wife had been there before. The menu ...well it was a bit more cosmopolitan than what I'm used to...and that was part of the adventure! Excellent waiter and the general manager/partner came by our table..chatted and inquired if all was well. It certainly was! Glad my bride suggested this elegant restaurant!

Love love love their cuisine. Definitely my first time trying Hawaiian delicacy! Would recommend just that i believe they shut this location at downtown Baltimore down.

T

Over priced. They changed to this family friendly environment so kids were everywhere which we didn't expect. The server had a strong cologne on, which I thought was unprofessional at a high end restaurant like this. Food was above average, servers were kind. The restaurant was clean.

Roy's has an incredibly diverse menu that presents some tough choices. We enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet mignon with crab rice and green beans, along with a juicy salmon and rice with a side of grilled mushrooms. The food was quick and service prompt. We will definitely be back to try the sushi!

G
Gwen Wild

Roy's it's not the same as it used to be... The atmosphere was kind of dead. We had one drink at the bar and we left. The drink was good the bartender said it was peach but clearly it was Lychee. We had a kick out of it it made our night.

L
Liz Sheffield Arey

The food was delicious as always, the one exception being that the dumplings and spring rolls are premade and as such a member of our party with a pepper allergy couldn't enjoy them.

Really delightful high end chain restaurant. We've had many good meals here, and the wait staff and the manager know and remember us, which is nice. Good portions, attention to detail, and creativity. I will say the wine dinners often aren't up to par - we stopped going because the food just wasn't as good and the vineyard hosts just talked far too much.

A
Alina McGilloway

The food was delicious! My only issue was that the entree portion for the scallop dinner I ordered was way too small, it was more the size of a small appetizer. However, the entrees and apps everyone else preferred seemed generous, especially the ribs. Their pineapple specialty dessert was very rich and decadent #LetsGuide

Very proper atmosphere, the food was very good. I loved the crab cakes and mahi tuna. But over all definitely a place you should dress up a little more and maybe make a reservation for so they can be prepare for you coming. Waitress gave off an awkward vibe to me and my family because we were not dress "appropriate" enough at least I felt that way. But overall would have they're food again, just when I have the money because they not cheap.

Great food. Had a Poke bowl, prime rib, and wedge salad instead of dessert. On Sunday and Monday evenings at this location you can choose an appetizer, entree and dessert for a fixed price. Our waiter was fantastic. Unfortunately he was the only one there.

Food is just okay — for the price, I expected it to be better. I got the Butter Seared Georges Bank Sea Scallops, which was somewhat bland. My boyfriend got the Classic Four — I tried some of it and only liked one of the four (I think the butterfish). We shared the lime tart for dessert, which was also nothing special. Atmosphere was good, although I expected it to be a bit more upscale for the price — there were plenty of people in jeans and t-shirt for Saturday night dinner. Servers were nice. I went for my anniversary with my boyfriend and they had put a happy anniversary card with flowers on the table when we arrived, which was sweet.

Superb service. Food came out hot and presentation was nice but noodles were cooked 2 long. As for the mojitos....they were terrible. Not many choices for desserts either.

K

Food is absolutely wonderful!!! Compliments to the Chef/s. Service was terrible.... like you could get better service at Applebees. The bus girl was the most attentive person in there; kept my water filled, and had to tell the waiter to bring us plates for our starters.

I think it is the atmosphere here that really stands out. Lobster potstickers and lobster Mac n cheese has bits of lobster, not big like Capital Grill. My friend, liked the salmon, my beef short ribs were tender. Food was good. Portion sizes allow room for dessert if you don't go for starters and sides. The food by itself wouldn't get me back again. The service and romantic ambience were great if you are out on a date night or special occasion though . Valet cost a reasonable $9.

Went for happy hour - only seating was at the bar which made it hard to do with a group. We ordered all the items on the Aloha Happy Hour menu to share. Most of it was underwhelming - ribs were too salty, fried rice was tasteless, egg roll was honestly just weird. Lobster pot stickers, Mac and cheese and sliders were all good but not spectacular. The only redeeming factor was the cocktails which were delicious and packed a good punch with the booze level.

I wasn't impressed by the service nor the food. The only enjoyable aspect of this visit was meeting up and spending time with my friends. It was a beautiful atmosphere however. Very pricey for the quality and quantity of food. I ordered one of the leies that were advertised, as a gift for the birthday girl and the waiter had no clue why I was asking for one. They were all wearing them but he didn't seem to understand what I was talking about. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend.

Food was not worth the price. Did not taste much different than something you would get at a lesser star resturant. Many of the items were heavily salted. The most memorable item was the short rib from the "canoe for two." The hoisen sause was perfect and they were very tender. The jumbo tiger prawns were over cooked. The sauce was reminiscent of kikkoman teriyaki sauce and over powered the dish. It made it taste cheap and salty. There were also way more edamame and bell peppers than udon. The roasted chicken was cooked well but flavorless. The "gravy" was good but there was not enough to cover all of the under seasoned meat. The worse part of the evening was the other patrons. There was a large party that was loud and disruptive. A few members of the party loudly made noises that mimicked them vomiting. They did this over and over throughout our meal. Nothing was said to them by management. I do not recommend this place.

Some dozen or so years ago I had dined at Roy’s Restaurant on Oahu, then the food and the experience too were memorably good. This Sunday evening's first visit to Roy’s in Baltimore was memorable, but only for making me appreciate how much better I had it in Hawaii. I went to dine at Roy’s restaurant of Baltimore on a Sunday. Their address is 720 Aliceanna Street, so I parked in the PMI parking lot near the prominent sign “720 Aliceanna”; this is important to note for later. The restaurant was lightly populated by customers, our wait staff seemed young and eager to please. We ordered drinks and appetizers including their Calamari. My Piña colada was just OK, in all respects - I was expecting something that put my mind back on a beach somewhere. Later as the waiter set the Calamari before me he suggested caution as the plate would be hot; yes the plate was hot - the Calamari was just lukewarm and nothing special. I mentioned this to others served at the table, they similarly concluded their food was warm though their plates were hot. The menu mentioned their Calamari is accompanied by Ketchup that is made there but had been forgot by the waiter, I asked for it and after it arrived to me it tasted like the Del Monte store brand. For my main course I ordered Indian style pork ribs. Later the waiter returned to explain some issue with that, so instead I ordered the BBQ style pork ribs. He pointed out that was only available as an appetizer, I agreed to the smaller portion - saving some calories. For a side dish I ordered French Fries. My pork was fine, tasty and tender. Though again the plate and bowl of the foods were hot, he french fries were lukewarm and when served as so they lose a lot; I recall joking to my comrades how Wendy’s seemed to have much better French Fries. When ordering dinner we were informed by the waiter that some desserts are best when ordered about the time the meal was served, so there would be time to prepare these desserts. This left the thought of a fresh baked dessert tempting my mind. So when the time came I ordered the Pineapple Upside Down Cake. On arrival it presented nicely, a smallish portion about the size and form of a cup cake, bordered by a scoop of Coconut ice cream. The the cake had an occasional hint of a piece of pineapple, but it was so dry and bland that I was happy the ice cream was there to help it down. The cake seemed a waste of calories as I had bought more tender, moist, and flavorful Pineapple Upside Down Cake from store bakeries. Overall I sensed there could be better satisfying foods elsewhere, and costing far less. Maybe we had the ‘C’ team cooking and serving? The final downer: the street address for Roy’s is 720 Aliceanna Street. I parked in the PMI parking lot entry under a prominent sign “720 Aliceanna”. Finally as the check arrived, I asked the waiter to validate my PMI parking ticket. He later returned and apologizing explained “we do not validate for Four Seasons parking”. I did not understand why or how I had ended up in the wrong parking lot, but being unfamiliar with this newer (and pricier) part of Baltimore I accepted his explanation. I paid the $15.00 to PMI as I drove away from 720 Aliceanna, likely not needing to ever again recall this address.

I made a reservation directly with the Roy's advising the hostess that I would be celebrating my 1 year wedding anniversary. When I arrived 10 minutes early the restaurant was in chaos. It reminded me of and overbooked Mothers Day. The hostess told me that I would have to wait. I asked her how long and she said that it would be a few minutes. After waiting for 20 minutes and my husband arriving, he already knew what I was thinking. He walked over to the hostess, and asked her again how long before we are sat, once again she said a few minutes. So he cancelled our reservation, because waiting 30 minutes for a table is ridiculous. There was nowhere at all to sit and a seat at the bar wasn't even offered. I was told this was a nice restaurant. But nice to me means being seated in an appropriate time.

L
Lucy Robins

Very disappointing. Have enjoyed eating here before, but this time there were problems: VERY long wait between starters and main course, and this when the restaurant wasn't at all busy. Coffee at dessert was not hot, took > 5 minutes to get some hot. And finally, the pan fried scallops I enjoyed later made me very ill. Emailed company about our experience, but so far haven't heard a peep. ETA Since posting this review I have heard from the manager, and they will be providing us with a dining card for a new meal. Will report back after our next visit.

First time at this Roy’s. My family and I were trying to recreate our Honolulu experience and this fell VERY short. Granted it was “Valentine’s day” weekend but we had to wait 20 min to be seated despite our reservation. Service was very slow and appetizers came out over an HOUR after we were seated. Waters weren’t refilled. They forgot the bread we ordered. We then waited for another 45 minutes for our main meal (which came out cold). The manager came over and apologized and offered 2 free desserts which was nice and the only thing keeping this from being a one star review. We walked in at 7:30pm and didn’t leave til 10pm. Wouldn’t expect this for a $300+ dinner experience.

C
Cathy

Service was way below acceptable. We waited about 30 min for our reservation. And once seated we waited 15 or more minutes for waters and childrens drinks. This was then followed by an incredibly unacceptable wait for each course of our meal. Two in our party had the 3 course meal but due to the extensive waiting for our main course we chose to take the desserts to go and were tomd they would even be an additional 15 minutes. The manager comped us about a 1/3 of our bill when we should have been comped the entire bill once our meals were delayed by 30 min. Will not return.
