Il cibo è buonissimo e il servizio eccellente
Home made pasta is the best kind!
Wonderful bartender who makes a mean margarita
Authentic family style Italian cuisine
The food here is top notch.
Mushroom ravioli is great!!!!
Best Italian in Baltimore!
Consistently delicious
Yum
Fresh ingredients, amazing sauce and friendly attentive staff.
Fabulous knowledgeable service, locally sourced fresh ingredients, great flavors. Lentil spinach soup was artfully seasoned and satisfying. Wild mushroom ravioli was earthy while not too heavy, lasagne benefited from fabulous tomatoes and pasta. Will return soon!
I had dinner her last night for the first time. It was amazing. Stephanie our server went above and beyond to make my first visit one to remember. The Mushroom Ravioli was one of the best things I have ever had.
Grano Emporio is an authentic Italian experience in every way, from the amazing food and beautiful decor to the presence of the simpatico Italian owner, Gino, and his lovely wife, Julie. The grilled calimari is exceptional, as is the Belgian chocolate flan, which they make daily. The wine selection is excellent too and reasonably priced. Adding to the fun is its location in the fun, hip neighborhood of Hampden. You can't go wrong!
Loved the atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious Italian meal. Not a Michelin star restaurant, but not trying to be. Nice for a date or family, we lived everything we ate. Desserts are not to be skipped.
Absolutely love that place. The interior is like in somebody’s home with many different rooms. Food is excellent so is the wine and waiters are always friendly and not in a rush. Feels like in an italian home. Get some Limoncello for dessert!!
Lovely Italian Restaurant. Has a nice older feel to it. Everything is individually made based on what is fresh that day. Food was excellent and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The best Italian food I've had in Baltimore. It's right in Hampden, so you have a bunch of shops close by to walk to after your meal. Parking can be a little tough, though.
The smells were amazing and the environment was cozy. I especially loved watching the matter mixologist fish or the best looking Maraschino cherry out of the jar. Nice personal touch.
Fresh and well-sourced, Gino, Julie and the crew know how to serve up an exceptional lunch, and dinner under a tiny terrace roofed with vines. Reminded me of across the Atlantic.
The food and the service were sublime. Never felt rushed and got our food in a timely manner. Can't wait to go back.
Little Italy in Hampden. Quality food and atmosphere. A must if you're dining in Hampden.
Best Italian meal I have eaten in a long time. They have a tiny room upstairs that is perfect for a quiet date night. The chocolate flan is to die for as is the lasagna and the meatballs. Wonderful and attentive service
The service was spot-on; attentive without being overbearing. The waiter was terrific with excellent recommendations, and all of the food was really wonderful! They now serve wine by the bottle. The waiter recommended a very good and reasonably priced Italian wine. I will be back as soon as I can!
Nice romantic dinner. A bit pricey
Solid, tasty, satisfying Italian food. Lovely patio for a warm night
Good atmosphere, authentic Italian food
We ate here and liked it so much we came back a few weeks later with a group of friends. We found the service very good and they were friendly and engaging. Between the two times we had several appetizers, but we liked two so much the first time that we ordered them again the second time. They were the Burrata mozzarella with mixed greens, tomatoes and a basil olive oil dressing. The other was a farro and lentil salad which also had red onion, olive oik, sea salt and lemon. For dinner I had the Pollo Marsala, which was chicken with Shitake and Crimini mushrooms, marsala and tomoatoes. There is an option for a few more dollars to get mushroom ravioli with it. Worth it, the ravioli is delicious. Great dish. I had it both times I liked it so much. You probably can't go wrong with any of the dishes but some of the other dishes that people had and enjoyed was the Ossobuco, the Cassoulet della Troia (a winter stew with wild boar, lamb and duck), and the shrimp and linguine. Many people have canolis, but the mini canolis for dessert I thought were some of the best I have had. The Belgian chocolate flan is no slouch either.
Every time I'm in Baltimore, I come here at least once, if not twice during a trade show. Always fantastic food! Veal Pizzaiolla was fantastic, as was the Limoncello cake!
Food was very fresh, small, intimate setting, and the buffalo mozzarella was delicious.
Went to this restaurant with a party of 7. The atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant was a house that was converted into a restaurant. We made reservations and when we arrived we didn’t have to wait at all. They brought us upstairs to our own room. Maybe one of the coolest places I’ve ever eaten. The food was good but not great. I ordered veal with risotto. The veal was delicious but the risotto was undercooked and kind of hard in the middle. If the risotto was cooked right I definitely would have given this place 5 stars.
awesome brews and cocktails
Reflecting on my meal last night, I must say I was disappointed with the overall experience. I try to be unbiased and forgiving when it comes to dining out and granted, last night was Valentines Day however, if anything that should spur a restaurant to show off, to put on its best performance which did not happen. The restaurant was full but not overcrowded yet, they only had one server working (unless I am mistaken). Our server was friendly enough but, did not seem to grasp the situation, spending a long time with a table of two while the rest of the diners were waiting around. She I.D.'d myself and my girlfriend who did not bring her ID so, she was unable to have a glass of wine (she is 23 but, rules are rules and I get that but, c'mon it is Valentines Day and you are an upscale Italian restaurant...). Plates were left uncleared for awhile and then, when we asked for the check, it took at least another 10 minutes to get that. When a restaurant is busy or in this case, understaffed, I would imagine the restaurant would want to turn tables over fast. Lastly the food, it was good not great. The lasagna was over-salted and missing that slight crisp that most have. My girlfriend's dish was good too but again, nothing to write home about. Even the bread that was given was good but, they give you plain olive oil to dip it in; not even a black pepper shaker or grinder on the table. For a special occasion and moderately priced meal, this was ultimately a let down.
The restaurant may be ok, I‘ve never been there, but the small Italian sister restaurant owned by Grano Emporio, on main street, lacks adequate seating arrangements and space. The evening I visited, I felt like I entered a sardine can. There was a person on eating at the bar and was so loud I could not help overhearing his conversation the whole time I was there. I ordered a special for $12.00, it was tasty but I was shocked when I ordered bread and the waiter added $2.50 to the tab for the three slices of Italian bread -- are you kidding me? What restaurant charges extra for bread?? I ordered two meatballs and each was $2.50. The bill came close to $20.00 for a bowl of spaghetti, two meatballs and several slices of bread? No drink. Way too expensive for a simple meal – the place lacks any sort of ambiance and proper space for patrons. Just another nonfood related problem, the waiter returned the checkbook without my credit card, it took some convincing to get him to agree to search for it – he returns it back 10 minutes later after I searched all that I owned that evening and apologized for dropping it on the floor. The whole fiasco with the credit card took 10 minutes. Not a happy experience, I will never return.
