Love this place! ❤️ Lunch specials are always good and decently priced. They are always welcoming and attentive as if you are their only customer, even when it’s crowded. My new favorite dish is the Chicken Adriatic. So flavorful, and the chicken is so tender. If you even think you like artichokes, you will love this dish. Just remember to save room for dessert!

This is a wonderful gem of a restaurant if you’re looking for great Italian food! I have a food allergy (corn- which is in everything,) but I am able to eat everything they make. Home cooking at its best. My husband and I ordered us each a glass of wine - both different. The owner came over with a recommendation for us and a tasting. We quickly changed our selection and now have a new favorite restaurant and wine! If you are looking for great food, great atmosphere, and attentive staff take a drive out to Hondo - you won’t be disappointed.

Paps is an amazing place, and the food is out of this world!! Pap Jr. offered us a complimentary bottle of Merlot, and it really brought it all together. I'm so happy we found this gem. Even the take out pizza is seriously delicious, I love this place and order from here any chance I get

Best Italian restaurant in Bandera! We came in on a Thursday night for pizza and pasta and were very happy with the whole experience. There was no wait, plenty of seating, so we picked our table out and were quickly greeted by a friendly and quite funny server (I think his name was Beckham). After some banter, we ordered our food and opened the bottle of wine we brought (it's BYOB here as they do not have alcohol, but they will bring wine glasses and a bottle opener, no corkage fee). Our food arrived and the portions were gigantic! My companion got a heaping plate of spaghetti and meat sauce, while I got a 12" pizza (build your own.) It was all delicious and well more than we could finish in one sitting. There are plenty of other items on the menu including a lot of options for kids. Best of all, the prices are quite reasonable. We love coming to Bandera and eating at Pap’s Italian Grill. Everything we have tried is absolutely amazing. And they have great lunch specials. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent service, fabulous Family run restaurant. Loved the Family yelling at each other in Italian 😄 Got the Greek Salad - amazing balsamic vinaigrette dressing! Then did the Veal Parmesan, asked for meat sauce - inside of the marinara - they accommodated! Cannot beat the value!

Excellent service, great recommendations, even better food!! The food was delicious, fresh and oh so filling. The house dressing is a must try for your salad. If you want a treat after try the cannoli! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Even my picky child loved the food! We will definitely be back. The only thing I didn’t quite care for was the $2.68 service fee for credit card use, but I get it they gotta cover that cost somehow. The food is excellent well worth it!

Our party of four was satisfied with every dish. Pro tip—BYOB, as no alcohol is served on premises. The bread was a take on garlic knots. Very addictive. I didn’t want more than one, yet kept on eating. Fried calamari appetizer was pleasing. Breading was light, airy, not greasy and remained crispy until the last bite. The marinara was fresh and tasty. The stuffed mushrooms weren’t really stuffed, but awesome and the sauce was really good. We kept both sauces around to dip the bread in. Both appetizers and salads came out shockingly fast. Minutes later, our entrees were brought out by a delightful elderly man who was probably the cook, as well. My cheese ravioli did not disappoint. My friend said she really liked the eggplant Parmesan. The guys both had shrimp—one with veal and Marsala sauce. The other shrimp dish had salmon, capers, penne and the sauce was butter and white wine—was the winner. Our foodie in the group said the sauces were next level—all bright. Now, the strawberry cheesecake, I enjoyed, but everyone else said it was Sara Lee.

Wife and I stopped by this place on the way home from a trip to a local state park. It was a Sunday late afternoon, and it wasn’t super busy. We were greeted promptly and shown straight to a table. Our waiter came and took our drink order and delivered us a basket of delicious garlic knots. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, and green peppers. The pizza was not the best I’ve had, but it was very good. I would not hesitate to make a return visit. The only slight negative was that our waiter disappeared for what felt like a long stretch as we waited for our check and a togo box.

April 2019: A very good place to eat. The best pizza in town. They could, however, learn to fix a double pepperoni pizza the correct way. April 2022: Still a very good place to eat. The pasta sampler is more than enough. The pasta combo is also very good and very filling. A side salad? One cucumber slice and one slice of tomato? I also noticed they charged me a dollar and a half just to use a credit card. That being the case, I naturally reduced their tip by a dollar and a half.

Think olive garden married a diner with real Italian service. I only had the chicken parm and it was ok. Not great but it was cooked well, nice white meat. Served fast (surprisingly fast). The food appears to be quick vs quality. Pricing was reasonable as well. I suppose I was a little disappointed to see two italians preparing and serving food and then to receive what I would consider to be diner grade italian. My expectations were a little too high. Don't get me wrong. It was very good food and worth every dollar. I was just hoping for the authentic italian considering who it was served from.
