my experience was excellent, the food was great and fresh, friendly and great atmosphere and theme of the restaurant, great value and will come back again to enjoy it all again
Very good food and service
Food is always great. I've been eating there since I came here to work on STP. But I don't think it opened till the 80's. Just ate there day before yesterday.
The best crawfish in town. Its cooked perfectly everytime! The staff are really great and the wait time for food is relatively short. I love this place.
Las fuentes is the BEST place to dine at if u want authentic mexican food, I have eaten here several times and it has been excellent! They have the BEST CRAWFISH in town in my opinion, and I have no complaints with the service here, they have always been great! Awesome job! 👍
Food is delicious and plenty.,employees are very friendly. Can't waite to go back and eat some menudo hear they have the best.
Great place good service.
Great little place had the asada street tacos best flavor and full of meat only wish I ordered more of them Tuesdays and Thursdays only a buck each great bargain
First time coming to bay city so we were looking for a place to eat, we chose this place because of the reviews and wow such great food and great staff highly recommend
A wonderful little not so little Mexican Cafe. The breakfast is fresh and out of this world delicious. Once I discovered this place I can't get enough.... and the Menudo is Bueno!
Great food and drinks, friendly people, great customer service, love the atmosphere. Prices are decent, and it's always a great place to eat! Authentic food! Not showy, or loud, great meals, great owners, great waitresses!! Highly recommended
Service was excellent, very attentive, chips and salsa was delicious, food was excellent also. If you looking for some good authentic Mexican food then this is your place!
It was a very hot day, so while it wasn't pleasant, it was understandable that the AC system was not keeping up and it was quite warm in the restaurant. The food was very good and the waitress was helpful.
Great service and good food . Not as authentic as some here in houston ,but definitely worth the stop to eat. Reastraunt was clean and they had a nice full bar .
Very very friendly staff I must say prices were wonderful something that everyone can afford hospitality was amazing very cozy atmosphere
It was my birthday and we ate. Afterwards the waitress brought me fried cinnamon tortilla with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Quite a nice surprise.
The food is served at a good temperature that mexican food should be served the quality and quantity is good the waitresses are very courteous there are 2 things that I wish would be worked on that they would keep the restrooms cleaner and would be nice if it were open on Sundays would be great to have somewhere good to have breakfast other than that it's a great restaurant the cost is good I would recommend this restaurant.
Greatest breakfast in town. Wide variety of plates and tacos. Salsa bar with an awesome green salsa. Great staff. Can't go wrong.
We had fast and friendly service. I had a margarita and the #1 taco plate with 2 tacos, (3 tacos is an option as well) with carne asada. It was delicious and I would definitely stop here again when I am in the Bay City area.
I got the mole beef enchiladas and so much meat was included and the mole is perfect. We ate inside and got great service from all the wait staff. I left the cashier a Cayman Islands $1 bill with Queen Elizabeth face.
This is our go-to for breakfast when we are in the area. Very laid back and we love their breakfast and the prices are really good too. One of us gets the pancakes, eggs and sausage. The other gets eggs, ham, pancakes, beans, flour or corn tortillas, and hash browns (we swap the hash browns for Spanish rice😍). The portions are good.
Establishment is very clean! Wait staff is very friendly! Food is delicious! I love their chicken chimicanga. The owner is very friendly and will stop by your table to make sure everything is to your liking! They have great deals every day too!
We stopped in here on a our way home from camping, it was a Sunday (Mother's Day I believe). They were about an hour and a half from closing. We had our kids and their friends, we were all wore out and starving. Our waitress was amazing, and the food was too. Everyone with us loved their food (not only because we've had camping food for a few days.) It was delicious, I had the quesadillas, my son had cheese enchiladas, my wife fajita taco, and one kid had crunchy tacos, that's all I can remember. We will definitely find our way back here again sometime in the near future!
Awesome food, Fajitas Monterrey, yum, nice portion size, I had chicken. Chips and salsa were excellent! Cold beer and fast friendly service. What's not to like?
Image Bearers Ladies Ministry of High Five Church had our breakfast here today pancakes were delicious. The service was excellent. Our server took very good care of us. Thank you La Fuentes!
This place is a hidden gem. The fragrance is just Heavenly. The food is super fresh, homemade and mouth-watering. The prices are so unbelievably low. The service is excellent. And the aesthetic is very pleasing. I cannot brag on this place enough. 10/10
I had spinach enchiladas. They were very cheesy and delicious! New waitress did a great job!
We always love sneaking away to get breakfast here. The staff are friendly and attentive. The menudo and barbacoa are delicious. Tortillas are authentic as well. Lunch is good. Enchiladas and fajitas are our normal go to for lunch or dinner here. Definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants in Bay City, TX.
Best restaurant I've been to. It's all authentic, the place has a warm environment. The staff are warm and lovely. And the food is amazing with so much variety. Not just burritos and tacos, real Mexican food. And the drink specials are top tier. Mucho gracias por la experiensa
I was taken by surprise by the pricing of this restaurant. I only ordered 2 chicken fajita tacos a small side of charro beans and chips and salsa...it was almost $18.00, They charge $4.99 per taco! It looked to be a store made type tortilla that all a person needs to do it cook them. The chicken fajita was chopped up to make it look like there was more meat in it, but in total, maybe 2 -3 strips of fajita inside...of course, it is covered with lettuce and tomato...so you don't notice it right away. I WILL NEVER EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN.
The food was awesome! Service was great! The chili dip was absolutely amazing!! Yall should definitely keep that on the menu with the chips!!
I had went and picked up 3 orders to go. All 3 tamale plates for myself and momma and and momma cookie. We all absolutely loved our meal. I added a salad to two of the meals an a beefvtaco with picó de falloto mine. Had chips and salsa that came free with the meals. 51$ for 3 people. And it was every bite worth it tobus. While i waited for my meal to be prepared to bring back home to the moms. I had a small margarita sublime! Great service friendly atmosphere. All around pleasant experience. 5 stars. Plus two thumbs up asks 8 fingers too.
We are from out of town and came here because this place had the most cars outside, we said "that must be where the best breakfast is!" The food here was amazing. I haven't had authentic Mexican food this good in a while. I had the barbaco breakfast, it wasn't greasy, the meat was perfect and the tortillas made fresh and perfect! will most likely be back for dinner. The staff was so nice and the restaurant is very clean We will always eat here when visiting.
Food was excellent I had the green chicken enchiladas with rice, beans, small salad with avocado and a dollop of sour cream. My compliments to the cook!
Decided to wait out the bad weather so stopped at restaurant, great choice. Food was very good, received it fast...staff is friendly, courteous. Would return next time we're back this way.
The food is really good! Got a plate to go and they included complimentary chips and salsa! I'm pretty picky about my menudo also and it was up to par. Delicious! Plus the people were very friendly when I picked up my food.
Las Fuentes is hands down my favorite Mexican food restuarant in Bay City. The food is delicious. Chips are fresh. Great variety on their menu. Try the Becky's Dinner - yum! Service is great. The food is delivered quickly. The margaritas as also very tasty!
Everything was good most definitely will be back!
Just go there and get the Gorda platter for breakfast. It's a couple tacos with steak and the salsa's phenomenal as are the beans
The food here was amazing. The beef and chicken was so tender I will come back here 10/10
I’ve had breakfast here 3 times now, and I always get the migas. They are the best I’ve ever eaten. They come with a small helping of refried beans which were also the best I’ve ever eaten. Flour tortillas were excellent, as were the salsa and coffee. If I lived in Bay City, this would be my go-to breakfast place.
Fuentes is like going to eat at your Tia's. You will be treated like family. The food is delicious, service is second to none, and the prices are very reasonable. Las Fuentes is our go to restaurant in Bay City!
Arguably, the best breakfast in Bay City. My go to is the migas, plus I add an over easy egg on top. Service is typically good.
This is the second time we stop to eat here. I had to write a review. This place has amazing authentic mexican food and great service. Menudo is excellent! It's not spicy, but the flavor is original and authentic. The barbacoa with homemade corn tortillas was perfectly lean. The tripas were made to my order. I can go on and on. Service was courteous. The place is spacious with enough seating. This is our favorite place to ear when passing through Bay City.
The Mexican Tostados are SO GOOD here.....as is all the food here!! Nice helpful wait staff and great food!! Priced reasonably!! We will go back again!! :)
Greatest for breakfast. Best menudo ever. Do not like their cheese for evening meals.
Breakfast tacos were good. I would give a 5 star if they would have given me hot sauce in my bag of tacos.
The food is great woukd reccomend that to anyone but the service sucks some kind of bad..... I go in there three times s week and never once I have a received any good service :(
Small to mid sized Mexican food restaurant. Good Mexican food. Friendly atmosphere with a small bar. Waitresses are friendly and helpful.Remember with the Covid scare they use plastic utensils and have to ask for spices and extra napkins. I would recommend this place for some good Mexican food and drink. Also the owner boils crawfish on the weekends.
This place is wonderful, with great service and great staff. Food is very good, also portions are generous and prices are good. Total quality in my opinion.
The food was amazing! The service was great and our waitress was awesome! I'm not a fan of the salsa being warm but this was good and had some spice to it which made it even better. We are different from most, we like our salsa very spicy lol
The food was very good but I was disappointed at the prices for breakfast to pay almost $100 I think it's a little ridiculous
We enjoyed our breakfast. Bean and cheese tacos, bean, potato, and chorizo burrito, hash browns, and chilaquiles. The hash browns were mediocre and my husband's horchata was just okay but everything else was really good. Our waitress was a sweetheart.
The dinner itself was delicious. However I ordered a top shelf margarita on the rocks with no salt. Not only did it take quite some time (about 10 minutes) to get my drink, it was covered with salt and was clearly not top shelf tequila. It also came with a side shot of what I later found out was Sauza tequila. Clearly not top shelf!!! It also cost me about $17 for the drink!!! I won't drink there again. The food is on point but I wouldn't suggest a drink other than a cold beer!
Pretty tasty food I must say. Large portions on every plate. Make sure you have an appetite when you visit. I didn’t give it a higher star because it’s time for some renovations in the dining area. It doesn’t look inviting with all of the Sheetrock separating at the seams. It’s time to invest some of the money back into the place. Sorry the food was excellent but you want to be able to enjoy the food without seeing wall separation.
Excellent food with actual flavor. Front of house slow to take order, did not know the menu, and did not check back during the meal. Servers busy chatting instead of checking on customers. Place is clean. Bathroom was clean but it has hand-touch everything: sink knobs, twisting door handle, manual paper towel dispenser. Wish I could provide some FOH training for customer service.
Waiter didn't place the order correct in the system but they didn't enter the extra food we ordered didn't get served until we told them. tortillas seem not homemade
Girls were sweet ..very attentive .,but the food wasn't bad but it def could have been better...
Food was ok, but not great. The coffee, I have to admit, was aweful. Coffee was brewed with faucet water which gave it a copper pipe taste. They need to invest in a good water filter. Service was excellent.
The restaurant was hot...had to ask staff to turn on ceiling fans...service was good, and aside from watery salsa, the food was good.
The food was okay, but waitress didnt take care of us that well at the table, she forgot our silverware, she didnt check to see if we were okay or if we needed anything, we needed another drink and we had to haller at another waitress, we waited along time to get the ticket, and they were rude at the cash register. They need to have limits of how many tiles to wait on and make sure the staff can handle a big restaurant, it was a mad house in the restaurant, they need to know how to wait on the tables and make sure the customers are satisfied
My family has been frequenting Las Fuentes for some time now, and I want to make it clear that we ONLY go here because of the food - and even that is unreliable. The service is terrible, the waitresses seem to forget you're there and flagging them down is impossible. Menu clearly states what certain plates contain, but when they arrive, items are missing and staff claims the dishes don't come with the missing items. Sometimes a certain dip is provided at the table complimentary, but when it's not, they claim not to serve it on that day. What?? We always come on the same day! Management could really win people over by training better staff. Whenever we bring guests, I find myself constantly apologizing for poor service.
I ordered the burrito supreme expecting the “supreme” but was half of a burrito . I was just telling my husband this was a great place and is just the waitress that took our order completely forgot about us then took our drinks I ordered a Tea and my tea tasted sour So also work in the food industry so I know it was last nights tea maybe our waitress made our experience less than expected I didn’t ask her name I know it might be rude but she was limping not trying to say that was a reason I just didn’t ask her name
Foods good. Normally i have a good experience but tonight wasnt the greatest. Drinks got messed up. Food got messed up. Sizes was wrong from what was ordered. Ordered chimichonga with no beans at all i made sure they understood no beans they tend to hurt my stomach. Only ate the rice and some soup brought the rest home. Cut open the chimichonga at home to find beans. Thank goodness i wasnt allergic. Normally they are pretty great but today was off i guess.
The fajita tacos are full of fat and gristle and tough. Everything else was okay enough to be at or below average. Service was sporadic and the food took A LOT longer than expected for the few people that were in there.
I don’t how they won an award for breakfast i food was mediocre and they sure spread your food so it can look like they gave you a lot won’t be back
The service was slow, they took a long time as there is only one waitress. The food was okay. What wasn't good was the chocolate milk or the lemonade(tasted like tap water)
We went to this restaurant for breakfast because it was recommended to us by the hotel. The food was good but the service was bad. She took a long, long time to give us the bill (I had to go find her to ask for it), and then she charged us more tip than what I left. I always keep my receipts, and disputed the charge with CitiCard. They gave me an instant credit for the amount in dispute. If you go to this place, pay cash.
Honestly, I'm going to withhold judgment and try again. My coworker said this place had better Birria than Tacos pleiy so I came by to check it out. First, they don't have Birria tacos? That's odd. So I tried the burrito. Don't try the burrito. It's got par-cooked French fries in it and falls apart when trying to dunk. The consumé tasted like straight dollar store beef broth. I don't recommend drinking. Had a sour, turned taste to it. I'd almost swear it wasn't cooked and was just thrown together and microwave. BUT! My coworker swears they have Birria tacos and I must have been there on an off day. So maybe I'll eventually go back and give them another shot. You get a decent helping of food for the price and the staff were great.
My food was fine. But my husband ordered the 3 taco plate with ground beef they were swimming in grease he couldn't even pick last 2 off his plate. He held the first one while eating lt so it wouldn't keep swimming. Bet we don't go back.
It's mostly good, but I can never get a full bag of chips. I'm not sure why. Bean and cheese taco greasy. Otherwise, friendly service.
We didnt get to taste the food. At 6:57 I ordered. Was passed off between 2 employees. The 2nd , a male, took my order and spoke perfect english. Stated it would take 15 min. My husband shows up to pick it up figured it wasnt ready, had a beer to wait, only to have them say I never ordered. The younger male who answered the phone, when I called after at 741 was not completely rude. Yet was trying to push me off. Stating that order was never taken, most of his people dont speak English, well my other half was waiting to have a beer so he could have waited for the food, they were very busy, and then when I called back was very patronizing stating that someone was going to get fired. I know that's not true. All he could have said was "we are very sorry, what is your name, we will make sure that ya'll are taken care of the next time." Yet because of the way I was placated because he didnt want to actually listen and fix, I will not be returning again. I'm sure they have plenty of customers. Yet I just hope they learn the right way to treat situations like this.
Two star, the waitress was very nice. Maybe I didn't order a tasty lunch, I had the chicken flautas, all it was, was dried chicken wrapped in a flour shell with unmelted cheese on top, very dry! I just couldn't eat the flautas, something didn't smell right as I tried to eat. The rice and beans were great! I've never had watery guacamole, too much cilantro? Hmmm, didn't taste like guacamole to me, and I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants!!! So my first impression, not going to go back. Sorry guys, no offense, just not my kind of Mexican food. So off to another Mexican restaurant.
The chips were stale. The waitress kept coming every 5 minutes. And it was pretty annoying. The food was so tiny for its price. And the soda there didn't taste very fresh. I rarely go out to eat. And this was a very disappointing visit. Hopefully they can improve on the food. But this is my third time there and it's always the same. So I will not be going back no more.
I used to love coming here. But it seems like they've made some changes and not for the better. I had the Enchiladas Triples that I used to always get. The enchilada sauce no longer has the homemade flavor. It tastes canned. The cheese in the enchilada wasn't good at all. It tasted like and had the texture of microwaved cheese sticks. The chicken in the chicken enchilada tasted like it had had been stored with fish. So it had a very fishy flavor. The beef enchilada had no flavor at all. It was just unseasoned beef. The waitress ignored or forgot that we had ordered an appetizer with our drinks. Our drinks had to be remade twice because it was just syrup (no carbonation). I ended up asking her for an unsweetened tea and she misunderstood and confirmed sweet tea before rushing off. I asked another waitress to chase her and make sure I received unsweet tea. When she brought it to the table, she made a comment about me having changed my mind. I understand that Mother's day was chaotic, but I've come to expect much better from Las Fuentes. It's highly unlikely that I will continue to refer hotel guests here.
First time trying this place.. was expecting more this place fell flat on its face. Food was delicious but my order was brought wrong twice oder the chiken enchiladas got fajita enchiladas Also had asked if I could get 4 enchiladas instead of 3 was told yes but was going be extra charge which I said yes..still got 3 enchiladas only good thing they didn't charge extra. Also, the wife asked for corn tortillas with her order, but instead, we got flour tortillas.. had asked for the correct ones again. Service wasn't great. Most likely, I will not try again any time soon. When I come back in town
Portion was extremely small ( $10 for a $4 portion) Asked for refill only filled it 3/4 of the glass. Good for an expensive appetizer, then you have to go get something to eat.
This was my favorite place until they messed up my order and I went back to get it corrected, I told them I wanted a fresh chalupa/tostados and they gave me one they made before I got there and told them to give me to fresh ones and they left the old one on the bottom and put any one on top, you never put a tostados on top of another one, but I don’t know that, 💯😂
Poor quality food, bland and lacking of flavor. When we got to the restaurant there was just two more people besides us, waited for our food like 30 min and it wasnt even hot.
Horrible experience last 2 times we have been there. First one. My husband orders menudo and they bring it, it is cold like if they only took it out the freezer and put in the bowl. Ask for it to be heated and the waitress takes it back and brings it and its still cold. 2nd time my hsuband ordered gorditas and gave me a bite to my suprise i was chewing on a twiat amd tie. Told the waitress and she goes and talks to her manager named Vero and she asks if we want another one? Umm am i suppose to eat another one after i fpund this on our food. She didnt even give a discount or anything. Wont be going there again.
My experience at this restaurant was less than agreeable....ordering food that should have tortillas included and told I need order separate...why? For the price you are charging they should be included in the meal. I do not know where you get your knowledge for Mexican food but you need reschooling in the culture. Learn what it is before offering menus to the public and calling yourself a Mexican restaurant.
Ate there for the first time last night. I ate chips and salsa and thought hhhm good but then when they brought us another batch it tasted different. Like they were ranzid. I thought maybe it’s me. My niece said eww these taste funny and I said so it’s not just me. We asked for another batch those were good. I ordered a Gordita with fajitas and rice and beans. I started with the rice it was hard. I said the rice is not cooked all the way but then my sister said no it’s dry and taste old. I started to eat the Gordita and it was good till I got to the fajita. The fajitas tasted sour and smelled sour. We told the lady in charged. She had an attitude. She said no one has ever complained before. Took my plate and never came out the kitchen. They did not offer us anything else. From my experience I will never eat there again and I am not a picky person.
Just left from eating here. I left my whole plate of food on the table. I ordered the chimichanga and it was too gross to eat. My husband tasted it and agreed it was too gross to eat. I’m so hungry. Gotta find something else to eat. I just paid and left. Never going back
Best example of bad customer service can be seen after a visit to Las Fuentes restaurant in bay city Texas. For starters you get a waitress so is disheveled and uninterested in her job. Dirty tables, no greeting, long wait, chips and salsa come to your table. Salsa container looks as it was reused from the previous patron without being wash. Waitress attitude was as if we were a bother to her. It took forty minutes from being seated to being served our meal. The management should heed customers and their experiences. This is coming from someone who owns and runs a restaurant.
We pass by the restaurant at lunch time. They were pack. So we did our errands came after lunch. A few people were there. The waitress came dump the salsa dip on the table. It look like she dunk the bowl in the salsa container. Didn't ever WIPE IT. After waiting about 15 minutes, she took our order. Our food came. Nachos SHOULD Be MORE Than 4 Corn TORTILLAS Cut IN half. I read the reviews. I don't know how you guys got 4.5. If I could give a point of the star I would. My husband said I am no longer allow to pick the restaurant :(
Owner is very rude my bacon was cooked so hard couldn't break it. Charge me for it anyway.
They should pay my gas. I literally could of drove to heb came back home and made them faster than the wait .I wasted 8th of a tank of fuel sitting in like for more than an hour for 3 normal tacos... La Palmita is still #1
OMG, never will I, nor my ppl that visited on July 30th, go back to this place. We were ripped off by $75, they claimed someone in our party, party of about 20, had not paid! They waited till the end , that was us,, Was still owing .. what happened was the waitress made numerous mistakes, On top of being rude and inexperienced, brought out food and would take it back, so we were charged for it! I would not have paid an extra penny, we should've called police. But, to avoid the problem, they, our ppl, went ahead and paid, they are money hungry and thieves.. Besides all this,, The food was not anything to brag about. 👎
Well to start off the waitress brought us very greasy salsa. The order took thirty minutes to come out. We should have known that if the salsa was greasy everything else would be. I ordered a hamburger and it came with diced tomatoes on it that kept falling out so I only took two bites and gave up. We should have gone to A&A BBQ the food there is great
This place needs alot of work with staff, food prep, and parking. When i arrived i seen a hit and run in the parking lot. The waitress could not remember food orders. And lied to say that I never paid my bill,as she was charging me for my meal. Impossible!!
Found hair in my food charged us for two drinks after we ordered one Worst EVER
Wort restaurant I’ve been to here in bay city. Terrible service my partner ordered the street tacos and I ordered the mole. Food took forever to get out once the food came out the waitress only brought my partners taco out and I didn’t think anything of it I thought maybe my food would come out after. Waited another 30min because the 2 waitress that were there wouldn’t even come by the table. When I decided to go look for 1 of the waitresses to ask about my food they were both sitting on the booth and said that we had just ordered the street tacos. I specifically told the waitress to even give me more time to order because I was still looking at the menu then she came back and I ordered. How can she tell me I didn’t order anything. The waitresses never came to refill to even ask for a refill my partner had already finished his drink and the food wasn’t even out and when they brought his food she didn’t even bother to ask him for a refill until she had to tell her.
