Decided to give this place another try after being disappointed a few years back and i’m so glad I did. Daniella was our server and she was incredible! The sweetest server i’ve ever had, super attentive, and just on top of her game! She recommended a beef campfire to me and it was tender and seasoned very well. I will definitely be back to see her again!
Erica C, our waitress, was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. She was very patient while I figured out my order, checked on us often, refilled drinks quickly. Breakfast was delicious as always!
Great experience at Cracker Barrel! Seating & Service: The communication was excellent. We were told there would be a 15-minute wait but got seated in just 10—great job! Our server was amazing—attentive, quick, and friendly. Thank you! Food: Delicious as always! Payment Issue: The only issue was the app for paying. After finishing our meal, I tried using the QR code to pay and avoid the line. Everything worked fine until I selected GPay—then the site just lagged on loading. After about a minute, it reset back to the bill. I tried again, same issue. Unfortunately, we had to go stand in line to pay, which was frustrating. Would love to see the online payment feature fixed, but overall, great service and food!
I had a great time at this location and it was my first time at Cracker Barrel ! Food was great as well as the hospitality by Dina !! She was such a sweet kind soul
I enjoyed my healthy breakfast. Egg whites, beyond sausage, bowl of fruits, and two plain pancakes. There are options for those who have dietary restrictions. My family always enjoys the breakfast and we get generous portions for the price. I purchased some cute jewelry pieces from the store. I didn’t even know that you can accumulate points and redeem them. Great rewards system.
My server was amazing she went above and beyond for us. She had such a great attitude it made our dining experience so enjoyable! I don’t recall her name but I really appreciated her service.
My go-to place for comfort food...and I love the decor!
Our server was great and checked on our needs multiple times
To go food order was correct and ready on time. Pick up to go food orders at the front check out counter. Get there early and shop in their old country store for great items. The staff and customers do practice social distancing. Great location for breakfast, lunch, and or dinner.
My husband and I have stopped to eat at Cracker Barrel’s as we travel. We’ve been in too many to count. Today-was an extremely busy Sunday morning in Baytown, Tx. They were packed. I assumed we would have a long wait to be seated. Boy was I wrong. Less than 5 minutes, we were seated. This is why—every employee had a smile. Every employee was customer focused, a tabled emptied and a bus boy immediately cleared and reset, swept under table, ready for the next guests. They were promptly seated and the process continued in every portion of the restaurant. Orders were taken, the timing of checking with seated guests was timed perfectly. Manager was visible in the dining area… she came to our table to see if we had our drink orders taken (we had!). She was constantly watching to see if eyes turned looking for their server. She was there, filling the need. Food was served promptly, hot and delicious. Training, follow thru, and I imagine praise. They got it from us! TRACEY was our server -EXCELLENT! She checked all the boxes, as well. Superior job, Baytown. I hope you are recognized for a job well done. .
Our daughter was visiting from Calif and so we took her here for lunch. My husband and her had the Sunday Fried Chicken and I had the Southern Fried Chicken with biscuits, mashed potatoes w/ white gravy and green beans. It was delicious. Crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. Wow! I would give it 10 stars if I could. The waitress was very friendly and service was really fast. We love this place.
Food was decent but come here for the store that corrals lots of different interesting items that would make great gifts
Food was great as always. For it being just us and two other tables the service was slower than expected, but very friendly. The store is always a hit.
I give my experience a 10/10 of eating here. My server Daniela was excellent and attended to my needs the whole time and had the most brightest smile and gave me and my family compliments. Whoever is the manager needs to give this girl a raise.!!!!
I love this place the servers were friendly the service was fast & the Lemon Pepper Rainbow Trout was amazing! My daughter had chicken tenders and My Boo had the fried chicken. Everyone enjoyed the food and the bill was reasonable. Did i mention the biscuits & blackberry jam😋. I highly recommend Cracker Barrel .
Good ol country food.. love the grilled chicken tenders. Love Ashley ❤️ she is the bestest
By far the best experience all year!! My family and I came here on a Sunday expecting a long wait. We were told 15 mins but was seated in 2 mins. My waitress Omega was PHENOMENAL!! I loved her wonderful smile as well as her honesty and knowledge on the top best foods. Everyone at my table had no complaints on the food. Everything was freshly made, very juicey and tasty. With all the food received the price was so unexpectedly reasonable. I really enjoyed my visit and definitely loved Omega and the excellent customer service she provided us. We will be back. I highly recommend the Homestyle Chicken. Extremely juicey and flavorful.
A very family friendly atmosphere filled with old country things the Service was amazing the waiter was polite and professional the food was delicious made hot and fresh just for my belly 😋 don't forget to get those biscuits yummy and prices are affordable paying is made easy through the app keep up the awesome work Cracker Barrel 😎🤘🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Visited last night around 8pm! Got pancakes, and biscuits Benny, they were phenomenal! The pancakes were light fluffy, crispy edges cake like center and soaked up the syrup perfectly! They are a must try, apparently there is a new technique in their kitchen that's made these pancakes over the top good!!! Gwen was a great waitress as well! Jeffery was an excellent waiter!!! The hostess was very helpful and knew all the new specials and appetizers! Food was excellent and came out hot and fresh despite them being super busy!!!
Okay, so to be completely honest I was a bit hesitant to go to this place. I have lived in Baytown for years and have family there, yet have never been. Just gave off this kinda run down country vibe (all those rocking chairs tho?!) that I wasn’t feeling, and I figured it was similar to something like Denny’s. Running out of options for dinner on a Sunday night, my wife suggested we give Cracker Barrel a try with my son quickly following with a big sigh. Long story short- we truly enjoyed it, both the food and the environment. Yes, yes, it is country style but in a nice way with dim lighting and good home cookin’ style food. We all finished our plates and were pretty satisfied with the pricing (average) not to mention our waiter was pretty helpful and not bothersome. Of course my wife loved the store so we did a quick browse through that as well, pretty interesting stuff. Overall we left feeling satisfied and a little guilty for being so judgemental of this little country restaurant before giving it a shot. I’m sure we’ll eat there again.
This Cracker Barrel has to be one of the best that I've been to. Service is always awesome. Food is always hot and delicious. I recommend going before 9. The earliest as possible, to avoid the crowd. The name of my is "Grandma's Sampler." Eggs, loaded hashbrown casserole, and a bit of ham, bacon, sausage, and warm fluffy pancakes! (Sorry I dug into my food before taking pictures)
My family and I had an excellent lunch at this location. Ashly (spelling as per displayed on her apron) was our server and we found her kind, friendly, and personable, making us feel welcomed and valued. She was attentive, made appropriate and yet effective suggestions in regard to the customization of certain menu items, and was diligent in fulfilling our requests for substitutions etc. The food was very good and the overall meal experience pleasant. We plan to ask to be seated in Ashly's section during our next visit. If I had one constructive complaint, it is that the sounds of the seasonal Halloween decorations in the store - just inside the entrance - were very loud and disruptive to all conversation anywhere near the center of the room. We otherwise look forward to our next visit.
Very good service, casual ambiance and good food. Plenty of shopping. Great variety of items available.\nLove the coffee. Clean and quick service. I would come back again.

Food was good. Server was great. I came from out of town and stopped by and the service was top tier compared to other restaurants around. Will definitely be back.

I don't ever write reviews, but this Cracker Barrel visit was too good not to mention. The chicken tenders were absolutely amazing--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Comfort food done right!…
Great service! Coffee is delicious and food is fast served! The atmosphere is very welcoming. Recommend

Great as always!! Food excellent and hot. Service are usually in a rush but we understand its a busy restaurant. The ambiance was a little loud but ok.
The food was delicious, the service was outstanding. First time in a long time we were greeted with warm smiles. Nice and clean tables, and restrooms.
The food was amazing! The workers were on top of everything. They were very friendly! The rest rooms were very clean. The place just felt like home at granny’s on a Sunday afternoon.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is more than just a restaurant—it’s a nostalgic American experience wrapped in a cozy, rustic setting. Established in 1969 in Lebanon, Tennessee, it was designed to capture the charm of the old Southern country store, and to this day, it delivers on that vision with warmth, comfort, and a deep sense of tradition. Walking into Cracker Barrel feels like stepping back in time. The front porch lined with wooden rocking chairs sets the mood before you even open the door. Once inside, you’re greeted by a country store filled with everything from retro candy and toys to seasonal gifts, clothing, home decor, and old-fashioned sodas. It’s a treasure trove of Americana that immediately evokes a sense of nostalgia, even for those who never lived through the era it reflects. The dining area continues that old-time feel, decorated with antique tools, signs, and relics from decades past. The ambiance is quiet and homey, perfect for family gatherings, road trip pit stops, or just a relaxed meal. The staff often feels like extended family—friendly, patient, and genuinely kind, which adds a layer of comfort that can’t be easily found at chain restaurants. Now, the food: Cracker Barrel is famous for its homestyle Southern cooking. Their menu is loaded with hearty classics like Chicken n’ Dumplins, Country Fried Steak, Meatloaf, and Gravy-drenched Biscuits. The breakfast menu, served all day, is a fan favorite, offering generous portions of eggs, pancakes, bacon, grits, and their signature hashbrown casserole. Their cornbread and biscuits are warm, buttery, and served with every meal—pure comfort food. They cater to various tastes with healthier options and even a few vegetarian choices, but Cracker Barrel truly shines when you dive into the indulgent, soul-satisfying dishes that have made it a staple for decades. Seasonal items like pumpkin pie, country ham, and fried apples round out a menu that feels both timeless and inviting. Pricing is another reason people love it. Meals are reasonably priced and portions are generous, offering great value—especially for families or groups. It’s not fine dining, but it’s not trying to be. Cracker Barrel thrives on consistency and familiarity. In short, Cracker Barrel is a delightful blend of comfort food, Southern hospitality, and American nostalgia. Whether you’re craving a stack of pancakes at 3 PM or just want a relaxing stop during a long road trip, Cracker Barrel offers a warm welcome and a full belly. For many, it’s not just a meal—it’s a memory.
This location is consistently pleasing to pallete and wallet. The only disappointment was that we weren't offered the corn muffins or rolls which we love, but had already pretty much finished our meal before we realized that we hadn't asked about them, eiether. I do appreciate the rewards through the app, though.
Love Cracker Barrel although service was lacking yesterday we were served food with no utensil and she didn’t come back for about 5 - 10 min waitress took drink and food order from table next to us before going to go hunt down utensils Biscuit and corn bread were defiantly lacking dry and burned very sad
Excellent meal, and the place was not overcrowded like cracker barrel usually is. Our waiter Zachary was very attentive and professional. The food was fresh and tasted great, except for my mashed potatoes which where crusty and looked like they had been on my plate a lot longer than the rest of my food. If it weren't for mashedpotatogate, I would give 5 stars.
Haven't been to this location in a couple years. Came during Brunch/Lunch time. Had to wait almost 20 minutes for a Table . Finally got seated in an out of the way busy section but my waitress was nice. I got Granny's Sampler with Blueberry Pancakes & coffee. Also had some biscuits with butter & Jam. The biscuits were great , warm & fluffy. My food was very good the pancakes were delicious as always. I enjoyed my meal here even though the section I was seated in was a bit overwhelmed . I will definitely be back soon.
Great brunch. Short wait time on a Saturday. Very attentive and efficient waitress. Good selection and food arrived hot and tasty.
For the restaurant, I give it a 3. For the store, I'll give it a 4. Cracker Barrel Old Country was our go to "road trip" pit stop. This was when we were living in Nevada. At that time the experience felt like novelty. Like a step back in time. There's a cute selection of children's clothes in this store. I was just browsing. It also had a good selection of toys. The candy section will bring take you back to your childhood days. Ah, and the soda bottle collection would make you want to try them. The food in this particular was good. (I had a bad experience at the Houston location where the pork chop was pale, smelled a little and was tough). However, at all the locations these days, you have to ask for that Apple butter. They no longer serve it automatically with the corn bread and biscuits. For a chain, this is an interesting store, especially for the seasonal home items they have at the store.
Stopped in to Cracker Barrel on Saturday, August 30. We can in for a late breakfast and really enjoyed our visit. While there, there was a big group at one section and a manager with brownish hair and glasses came out as if she were yelling at the group. All she was going was bringing food. She could stand to tone it down a little as the entire room was looking at her and that is not what we want to hear while enjoying our visit. You could hear her yelling in the back before that and we were curious what was going on. Our server was great, our food was good. We really enjoyed the boho pancake meal special. The manager on duty was very kind, chatting with the tables and helpful in getting us some extra coffee as we knew the server was busy at the moment. Overall we had a great visit and plan to come back soon.
I had the chicken fried chicken. It was really good. Loved the white gravy. I appreciate the cleanliness of the woman's room.

To us Cracker Barrel is overrated. So last night, ordered the fried chicken. Not good. Was a little overcooked and was served barely warm. Partly my fault because it does say on menu that it is a time saver. Wife ordered catfish she did like that. Service was good.
Food did not taste fresh, except chicken breast, however that was overdone. Biscuits were flat and tasteless. I was sat on the wall that is opposite of cashiers and the two employees over in the gift shop were loud and spoke about personal conversation that I was able to overhear, drowning out the music. My server was lovely and efficient.
I’ve eaten at CB for years and seldom have I had such a bad experience. The food was cold, (breakfast) the server inattentive and the runner who brought out our plates was rude. The runner began setting down plates before we were given a chance to move our current plates of biscuits. She seemed rushed, impatient and overall impolite. The entire experience this go round was not good. Cold pancakes where the butter doesn’t melt is just not acceptable.
Good food but now they charge if want extra biscuits
The 1 star is for the curbside service. The food always tastes good; it’s constant. My last dine in experience was great. But, I can’t say the same for curbside service. I always wait 10-15 min past the expected “food will be ready” time. It’s a real bummer that some of my lunch time from work is spent waiting for my food.
My last CB visit was not great. The table that the hostess wanted to seat us in was wet so we moved to another table. The other table was next to a large table that had not been cleaned. It was dirty before and after we finished our meal. Our waitress was not helpful and never would look at us. Not sure what was going on with her. Crackerbarrell is usually great. They must have had an offday.
I was not impressed with this location, food was not up to par with other Cracker Barrels, tea was old tasting, mashed potatoes were very lumpy and cold. The biscuits however were AMAZING. Our waitress was not on top of her game, had to ask for everything we needed.
Gwen our waitress was very sweet. Gwen was just not attentive at all. I was very unhappy with Gwen's service. The food came out correct but slightly undercooked. Edible though. The coffee was watery. The hostess were very professional and helpful with great since of humor. I will return for the convenience of location and the love of Cracker Barrel. I won't let a couple bad experiences stop me from going knowing they have good servers and I have had majority good experiences. It's just a hit and miss sometimes.
We waited for over 20 minutes just to be able to place the order for something to drink. Then my drink was made incorrectly. She was like oh I think I was supposed to stir that and I was like OK. I guess I’ll stir it myself, but it wasn’t good. I was truly afraid to send it back because it may have taken even longer for me to get another drink. She was sweet as a button, but the service delay and everything was just slow. extremely slow.
Meatloaf was undercooked, very disappointed. Co worker had to send his pancakes back because very cold. This Cracker Barrel really isn't any different then others I have visted. Use to be one of our favorite places but not likely to eat at any of them anymore.
While the service wasn't as bad as yesterday in Beaumont, it was lacking. We waited 30 minutes before stopping someone to ask for biscuits and cornbread, then they agreed. When they brought it, it came along with an incorrect order. All of this still doesn't help the fact that I am extremely disappointed in Cracker Barrel in general. I used to love their fried chicken tenders because they tasted more like hand-battered than frozen. Today, the mac n cheese was tasteless and I got a plate of pilgrims pride tenders.
Orange cones should block the parking spots that are not under video camera surveillance. My children all cried upon discovering that our car was broken into as we dined. I am just grateful that we did not go to our car while the thieving thugs were inside it--who knows what could have occurred!
Been to this location many times in the past and had great food and service each and every time. UNTIL THIS VISIT. I had steak tips that were over cooked, scrambled eggs that were under cook and still runny. Also had baked apples that were hard and crunchy. Not sure what happened this time, weather it was new cooks or someone having a bad day, or possibly something else. One visit shouldn't deter me from coming back.
Ok I usually don’t write reviews like this, but we travel all over the US and my go to place for a home cooked meatloaf is cracker Barrel. Now with that being said our meal was great. Our waitress was amazing. What really upset myself n my husband was how dirty the floor was. Yes they had a huge party of 16 people. No biggie the girls waited on them hand n food n the other waitress were getting the other tables. What really frustrated us was the hostess was in this it’s not my job mood. They had tables that needed picked up n she wouldn’t do it. The waiters had to do it in between taking our orders n bring us our food. What really pushed us over the edge was one brought our creamer n they dropped it on the floor n a guy came around the corner n popped it open. He went n told the hostess what had happen. She went n looked at it n walked like she was going to say something but didn’t n walked back to the stand. In 45 minutes of sitting n watching this she passed it 8 times n looked right at it n never cleaned it up. The kids were running around it n slipping on it n she watched them n still did nothing to clean it up. It was just very disappointing to see the way she acted. All I can say is you need to do better training n get out of the it’s not my job attitude

I am sorry to say the hash browns were not even warm and the scrambled eggs the same thing. The decaffeinated coffee was excellent! The gravy and biscuits were delicious! The next time I will request they give me hot food, not food that has been sitting on the counter.
I cannot possibly understand why they only had 7 tables sat, 7 servers wandering around and we sat for 20 minutes straight without being spoken to. Even then the server said she would go ahead and take us, like it was a favor. The service here is just awful, its a shame cause my kids love it, but I just cant anymore...
I love this place but it has definitely gone down! The last two times I ordered Togo multiple items were missing which tells me you are not taking the time to read the tickets and never send my sauces.
We got our coffee in paper cups because there were no clean cups, our eggs were over cooked, didn’t have cinnamon rolls and we were sat in a corner table across from the sitting room. I guess your restaurant doesn’t have enough space for a party of 8. We were not satisfied with the service or the food, maybe because it was a Sunday, that shouldn’t be an excuse.
Possible new cook or just don’t care. Cold cheese was slapped on top of eggs and scrambled eggs were running all over my plate before even cutting into them. Overall, poor quality. Manager was informed of this and never came to speak to us, server was nice and apologetic
Cracker Barrel is focusing on design when they really should focus on the food! I have noticed recently a decline in the quality of their food. Yesterday, I ordered the Thursday Turkey and Dressing and turnip greens. Dry turkey, hard and flavorless dressing, and gelatinous non-flavored gravy. The turnip greens were also way under seasoned. I don't normally add salt at the table, but no amount of salt seemed to help. Wife's fried okra was stale and biscuits, as late as they were, here like hard tack. Inedible. I experienced this lack of quality at 2 other locations, so it seems to be a systemic problem. Sad to say, it's probably past time for this restaurant chain fade into the distance! I won't be back.
Went today, ordered the fresh berry French toasts, we waited 20 or so minutes just for them to tell us they don’t have the French toasts anymore so I got the pancakes instead with cheesecake filling. We waited for another 15 then the food came but it was cold, I asked for mayo and never got it, and one of the pancakes was burnt but hidden by all the cheesecake filling. Also, mid way we got another waitress, we didn’t even know, no one told us so we were confused on who to ask for service. Won’t be going for a while :(
I used to like the chicken and dumplings at cracker barrel years ago. Now the chicken tastes and feels like chicken flavored wood, the noodles are not fully cooked, and it looks and feels like they just poured chicken soup on it. No malt vinegar for the greens (thought I was in the south). No condiments besides salt and pepper on the table. Staff was very attentive and good. Volume was "I want ear plugs" loud. Wait was 25 minutes, but it was after-church rush, so they slide on that. Probably won't go back. Ever.
Gave them a second chance. They were not busy. Sat there for 10-15 minutes without any waitress even acknowledging us. Ten walked by avoiding eye contact. We finally left without getting food. It had…

The food quality has been suffering for years. Not paying premium prices for subpar food. The only thing that keeps this place alive is the gift shop. Go Woke Go Broke may also be a reason.

I visited the Baytown location Sat, 6/14/25 around 6pm, to place an order for biscuits and gravy to go. There was no one at the check in desk...2 employees at the checkout , neither acknowledged me…
The food is bland and mostly raw. Shame that they don't have more pride in their food. breakfast is still okay but the other meals are bad.
The service was great, waitress was awesome. Food was old and greasy very bland
Our family came here for breakfast, and unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst experience we’ve had dining out. Our order was incorrect, and the biscuits and gravy I ordered never arrived. We were repeatedly told they were “warming up,” but we saw other tables being served baskets of biscuits. Everyone at our table received their food—except me. What was meant to be a nice family breakfast ended with me eating alone. To be fair, our waiter was very kind and kept apologizing, but overall the service was disorganized and disappointing.
I've been to this Cracker Barrel many times over the years and its been good. But the last visit turned me off from ever returning. It took a good while just to get my drink. The biscuits were stale and hard and reheated from their freezer. The dumplins were congealed and lukewarm from sitting out too long. The carrots were just plain cold. The only thing hot was the steak. I won't bother returning to this Cracker Barrel.
Ordered some chk n dumplings with my chicken fried steak. Brought out the food with no chk dumplings. She told me they didn’t have any. Ok. No gravy on taters asked for brown. Taters were cold/ hard. Red raw meat liquid under chicken fried steak. Didn’t bring out any of the complimentary bread. Took about 30 minutes to get a sweet tea refill. Once she did it there was no ice so it was warm sweet tea. Son’s chicken tender meal came with hardly any fries and the broccoli tasted like bath water. Not very crowded . Kinda crazy how bad it was. I ain’t ever complaining about nothing but this was pretty wack, and expensive.
I ordered the chicken fried steak, definitely not scratch made it’s a frozen product. I’m not above eating a frozen fried steak but it was horrible. Couldn’t cut through it with my fork and it was cold. My wife got the new and better chicken strips also came out cold had a weird flavor and they were tiny. My mom got pot roast which was actually good but also cold. Oh and I almost forgot got the appetizers are a major ripoff. Order onion petals and it was maybe 8 in the order then my son got loaded tots and I think it was 6-7 tots with a lil cheddar on them and 1 strip of bacon that they just cut in 3 pcs. Last I ordered cheese curds and I got 6 pieces and most were tiny. Complete waist of about 25$. Last they really need to season the food very very under seasoned. Now the best part of our experience was our waiter Wade was very respectful and didn’t catch an attitude when I sent my fried steak back. Which I appreciate.
Biscuits tasted like they were from a couple of days old and they warmed up in microwave. The rest of food was cold and barely warm when brought out. We also waiting for 25 minutes after we ordered to get food. When we asked about biscuits they said they freeze the biscuits and then reheat in oven now.
I ordered two Mama's pancake breakfasts, one with crispy bacon, through Doordash. Unfortunately, both orders had uncooked bacon, which poses a health risk due to the possibility of food poisoning. Despite attempting to call the restaurant several times at 9:00 PM, no one answered the phone. As I ordered through Doordash, I am unable to return to the restaurant.
Food quality has been on the decline for years. Poor quality food will not bring back customers. Gift shops keep the little old lady’s coming back. This location is higher in crime so watch yourself. Keep head on a swivel.
Place is not clean you can see the big ball of dust next to the table and service was not good and food was well let’s just say I have had better I mean my fried pickles were burnt not a lot but a little non the less they were burnt My waitress was very…… well I felt like she was rushing me I had not even ate half my food and she was trying to pick it up and she asked me like a total of 6 times if I was done and there were other issues but needless to say my experience at this place was very UNPLEASANT
So I walk into Cracker Barrel approximately 8 p.m. and the hostess says you need a mask I said it didn't say that on the door oh yes it does she says to me here's a picture of their door and the two signs doesn't say I have to wear a mask now does it then I get served burnt food my service was good only good thing I can say about them
We have eaten at Cracker Barrels all over this country. Baytown was by far the worst. Ordered, waited about 20 minutes then waiter comes to say sorry that is no longer available. Order something.else. 30 minutes later he brings it but sorry one of the sides no longer available. Husband says just forget it. I ordered chicken and dumplings. Should have been named dumplings with chicken flavoring. Needless to say, we won't go back
We came in with a group of six and were immediately met with attitude from the hostesses. It genuinely felt like they were annoyed the moment we mentioned we had a party of six. Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and there were several open tables, we were told there would be a 45-minute wait. When we asked why, we were told that’s just what they automatically say to larger groups—no real explanation, just a dismissive tone. The hostess with dark-rimmed glasses and very short hair was especially rude—completely unwelcoming and impatient with us from the start. When they said our table was ready (around 10 minutes later), it hadn’t even been cleaned yet. We were left standing awkwardly in the middle of the dining room, in the way of staff and other guests, while they cleared it. I saw this same thing happen to 4 other groups of people. The whole experience felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. Hospitality matters, and this kind of treatment really sets the wrong tone for the meal.
I haven't eaten at cracker barrel in years because of the quality of the food had gone down but I decided to order dinner from here because I missed the biscuits. I ordered the crispy " home style" chicken with the steak fries and coleslaw and I ordered an extra order of biscuits. The whole meal was a complete Trainwreck, " home style" fried chicken? What a joke , it tasted like frozen chicken that chef microwave cooked to an inch of its life, the fries were cold and soggy with no salt and the coleslaw was sour. So I hoped the biscuits would have the day but alas they were the biggest let down, hockey pucks are softer then those things were. If I want precooked frozen food that reheated in the microwave I'll just go to Walmart and buy a frozen TV dinner. Do better Cracker Barrel !
Very filthy restaurant. Very poor service. We waited a long time for everything. They were very disorganized. I rate them a ZERO for service and atmosphere. The tables and floor stayed dirty while we ate. My husband spoke to the manager Xander at the register. He gave a brief apology and told us to ask for him on our next visit. He did not write our names down so we knew he was insincere. We WILL NOT return to this location.
Picked up promptly to take to hotel next door. Country fried steak was cold patty. Not real meat with about a tablespoon of gravy. Inedible and loaded potato was old and not loaded and looked like it was a reheat. Horrible experience. Then my peach cobbler was gone. Instead a piece of chocolate cake. I don't eat chocolate. So only thing decent was the sweet tea. Horrible experience with food that was trashed. Almost 30.00 to not eat.
No. Just no. The 1/2 of biscuit I did try was hard enough to fix potholes. Did the " country fried steak". Again just NO. Banquet TV dinners has the same patty at Sam's. The funny thing is, the fake processed 'meat' patty should have been greasy. But it was horribly microwaved and dried out. Microwaved dumplings and macaroni and cheese. Both were very greasy. How can you make Mac and cheese greasy? Overall I'd give it a 1 out of 10. Service was ok. Food NO. Cracker Barrel in Baytown should be ashamed. The absolutely worse part? The ONLY reason I went there was to get a back up coffee mug. And they had everything BUT the one I wanted. Even the rocking chairs are different. Cheap made and way overpriced. I have a Cracker Barrel rocker. Definitely not the same.
Wish We had a waitress that was more attentive and paid attention and not in such a rush. Ordered grilled catfish and sliced tomatoes...no tomatoes, just a fish. Tea with lemon...no lemon... after dinner asked for to-go box ...after waiting a while we just wrapped it in a napkin and left. I was really hoping for a good experience but left angry wif food in a soggy napkin.
I haven't been here in awhile and before i ordered my food i asked please can you make sure my eggs don't have shells in them as a few years back i had shells in my eggs they said no problem first bite i took shells all in my eggs. Also my wife ordered the country fried steak please beware they use what looks to be a cheap Salisbury steak dipped in flower then deep fried nasty. Ask to speak to a manger Eli the only resolution to fix my eggs where to give me fake eggs not interested this is a country breakfast correct. Next my wife said the country fried steak wasn’t good he said in the future order something else because thats how it is then he walked away. The waitress brings the check no discounts or correction imagine that another worthless manger so , go to check out and ask to see another manger no luck same manger . As stated before he didn't offer to fix anything and then he lied and said i never said any of that when everyone was watching now still no help had to pay full bill no exceptions thanks crackle barrel another place to avoid at all cost. I wanted to buy other cool stuff from store but i refuse to give this store any more $$$ sorry not sorry.
Wow. I can’t begin to express the disappointment in our experience today. The environment was chaotic, and it was clear we weren’t the only ones frustrated. It took 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, then nearly an hour to receive food that was brought out incorrectly. In that time, our server only checked on us once. We finally had to flag down another server just to get our check so we could leave. What made things worse was the manager, who had actually assisted us at check-in. Her tone was unprofessional and dismissive, and she carried herself in a way that made it obvious she should not be in a customer-facing role. With management like that, it’s no surprise the restaurant feels so mismanaged. If you’re reading this, save yourself the time and money, spend it elsewhere. We certainly will.
Ordered the biscuits and gravy. Was the worst I have ever had. Tasted like wall paper paste. We saying something to the manager about it all he could say that it was "Award Winning and must be my taste buds". That is how you loose a customer.
Have been to this Cracker Barrel before- service has always been good, food good. Went today and our waitress was nice, but half of our food never came out. Waited over 20 minutes and nothing, told our server 2 times about the rest of our food and it didn’t come out until we were ready to leave.. told management about it at the end, and learned she was a new server getting these large parties. Hopefully management does better when it comes to training new employees.
