Opinions de Hole in the Wall Beaumont
Atmosphere is subjective. This is a small "Hole in the Wall". But, the food? Ab Fab would be a great description. I've been eating there since their opening, and honestly I generally get their Sesame Chicken. The sauce is the best I've had in Beaumont. I'm not a fan of overly sweet sauce on this dish like many places do to please the American public. Also, the 10 PC Pepper Fried Fish is another outstanding dish. It may take a pinch of salt for some tastebuds, as mine required. That's a good thing though, as I've had fried dishes overly salty and, as we know, it can't be removed. There is only seating outside, for anyone still dining at the restaurant these days. Friendly, competent staff as well.
For a small business, I would call this a hidden gem because I have never acquired a taste so addicting like their shrimp lo mein. Let me put you on this, it’s literally so good that you’re drinking the sauce out of the first bag it’s wrapped in. Mind you, I said, first bag, they double wrap the stuff because it’s so freaking good and savory that all of the delicious juices seep out of the to go box. I rate them 10 out of 10, and if I had lived in any other state, I would literally drive all the way to Beaumont, Texas of all places just to come to this specific establishment. I love how Real employees are. They they’re not copy and paste like Chick-fil-A. Some of my best conversations are with the workers there and I will forever be a loyal customer
We ordered broccoli and chicken and also shrimp fried rice. Delicious. Best in Beaumont hands down.
They go over and beyond. The cajun fried rice has massive shrimp and it has sausage and crawfish as well. It’s amazing and they give you more than enough to eat a couple of time or feed a family of 4 multiple times. And the prices aren’t bad.. very sweet people and very helpful. The place is located near the Calder location Raos on the opposite side of the road. Very cute out door seating!
The name of the restaurant says it all about atmosphere. The food on the other hand is great! Not that blah Asian food, offered by all the other Asian restaurants in the area This food, if described in the menu as spicy has some KICK. Not burn your face off, just that" sweat a little while taking the next bite" Large portions, hard working staff, really kicking place to go for " Dang , need some Asian food craving" Strong recommendation on Mongolian Beef and General Tsao's. Garlic sauce noodles with pineapple chicken is a different flavor burst. Call ahead for faster service.
Had a variety of dishes from Hole in the Wall. They were all amazing. I specifically enjoyed the salt and pepper shrimp, any of the fried rice, and boudin balls. Great portions and fast service.
Called in General Tso Chicken. Was hot and ready when I arrived. Best and sweetest service in town. Food is really good here and portions are bigger than you should eat.
Not often i find great food, glad I tried a literal hole in the wall. Ordered Orange Chicken, was great! Egg rolls were great as well. Definitely will be going back again.
Fantastic food and even better service. These ladies are amazing.
Very sketchy to eat at the site it’s really a hole in the wall. But I’m still thinking of the vacation fried rice with shrimp.
Did was amazing, staff was even better. It was worth the 30 minute drive. Will most definitely be back.
Excellent service and food. I was skeptical at first, but don’t jibe a book by its cover. The young man at the window was very helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed everything, and we bought several things to try. Lo mein, salt and pepper fish and shrimp, egg rolls, Mongolian beef...will definitely return. Staff was nice, only outside seating available. But it was a nice breeze and they have fans. 9.5/10
Owners are very sweet AND THE FOOD THE MOST AMAZING. Portions are huge and right on point with taste. GREAT JOB GUYS !!
Hole in the Wall is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Beaumont and honestly, probably my favorite Asian spot anywhere. Their unique Cajun-Asian fusion is absolutely killer. Plenty of places try to copy that style, but nothing comes close Hole in the Wall is still the undisputed champion. The staff is genuinely warm, personable, and always greets you with a real smile. And the food? Straight-up to die for the best you’ll find in Beaumont, no question. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on something special.
It's a great place to get delicious Cajun/Asian dishes, and the service is excellent! My favorites are the Salt & Pepper Wings, Cajun Fried Rice, Bourbon Chicken and Rice, General Tao Chicken, and the Pineapple Chicken over Garlic Noodles, so far. Don't let the roughness of the exterior keep you away! Update: Sometimes the phones are out of order, and you have to be there to place your order instead of being able to call it in.🤷
So I am trying this restaurant today because everyone said it was good and no lie this place definitely knocked my socks off. I order the Cajun fried rice and salt& pepper catfish and yummy is a understatement. Yes the place was packed and I did have a lil long wait but it was totally worth it!!!! The customer service was amazing and yes I tried to call in a order but I see why no answer it was packed but we all left happy and now I’m fat full definitely will be back
I usually don't review places, but WOW. We cannot wait to go back ASAP. The variety on the menu, the flavors, quality, everything. We got the salt and pepper catfish strips with fried rice, and an order of the Chinese egg rolls. Fresh, flavorful, such a perfect meal and first impression. Beaumont has a gem of a restaurant on it's hands! Wishing nothing but the best for this amazing restaurant!
We ordered several items being that it was our first time. Let's start with the amount of food that is given us extremely generous. We did pick up and our order was ready when we arrived. Food was good and fresh. Orange chicken sauce is the best I've had in the area, has the perfect kick. Boudain balls, Chinese and Vietnamese egg rolls were all good and crispy.
It's a beautiful place to stop and dine... It really felt good outside today...
This is a great place! You order at the outside window...they cook your food fresh as you wait. It is cooked in traditional oriental cooking style. The portions are big and satisfying. Great place to check out!
The manager Ms. Ann is the absolute sweetest. I went once last week and met her, she remembered what my friend and I ordered and my name. The food is awesome. The shaken beef keeps me coming back and the lo meins are the best I've ever had. I'm a chunky girl so believe me I've had many lo meins. This establishment deserves the praise it receives. Y'all give it a try! ::update:: it's been a while and the food is still superior to anything else around. Ms. Ann is still amazing!
It's so good I have to stop myself from going there every day! Call in your order, they get busy so you'll have to wait a while if you order at the window
I called in my order. The lady was patient and answered all my questions. Enjoyed my meals. I will be back. Garlic noodles 🍜 & Bourbon Chicken 🐔 w/ fried rice 🍚 no veggies.
We had our grandsons 16th birthday party on the outside patio. Ann, Diane , Andrew and Robert were fantastic. Memorable evening with scrumptious food and the plenty of it! Pineapple chicken on skewers, lo mein, egg rolls, Mongolian beef, so much we couldn’t eat it all. The decorations were provided by Diane and Ann.

The food was amazing, I had the magnolia beef and my friend had the bourbon chicken. The woman at the window had an amazing personality and does her job perfectly! I will be back!
Bruh!!!! Im trying to eat healthy and this place did not disappoint it’s chicken with vegetables hit the spot this place lives up to it’s name; best food comes from a hole in the wall place! FYI they got white rice if you are picking a healthy option.
So much food for what you pay for and it’s fresh and GOOD!!!! The people that run it are also the sweetest and most kind, if you’re looking for a new place to try with a large menu with a lot of options this needs to be your next visit!
My boyfriend and I travel for work so we were just passing through and stumbled upon this place. I ordered the bourbon chicken & fried rice & my bf ordered the fried catfish & shrimp plate with fries. Everything was SO DELICIOUS!! We ate on their patio that had a nice little garden vibe. The wait was very reasonable and everything came out hot & fresh. We could hardly wait to scarf everything down. The portions were generous so we still have leftovers for dinner later. If we are ever back in Beaumont we are definitely coming back.
Holy cow this was amazing. The garlic noodles with pineapple chicken was so good. My girlfriend got the cashew chicken and it too was amazing. Aunthetic. Would recommend.

Driving through and saw a tiktok about this place. Got the garlic shrimp noodles and the cajun fried rice. Garlic noodles were pretty good, a little much from me, but that cajun fries rice! Lemme tell you Absolutely SLAPPED!
This place has wonderful menu choices and you get a lot for your money. The Manager saw my Puppies in the car and came out to play with me. I'm glad I found this place on Google. I've tried 3 different dishes over a 2-week period.

Food is fantastic. Pineapple chicken is delicious. No interior seating but has a covered patio area.
The name says it all. It's a walk up window to place your order off of the menu in the window. Server was very helpful in navigating the menu. We had the 2 pc catfish and 6 battered shrimp with a side of stir fry rice. Also a side order of shrimp rolls (3). The catfish and shrimp were perfectly done and flavorful. The rice was pretty standard for a basic stir-fry. The shrimp rolls were interesting but not heavy on flavor. Prices are as reasonable as anyone else today. Dining is in the outdoor patio. One big table that can sit up to 12 people. Overall I will definitely go back for the catfish and shrimp.

Normally really good, but yesterday it was just good. I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and Vietnamese egg rolls. The egg rolls were great and I will order them again. However, the orange chicken was overcooked and so was the fried rice. The fried rice was hard or it wasn't fresh.
I heard a lot about The Hole in the wall so I had to try it..the cashier was really nice.I ordered shrimp fried rice and pepper steak off the posted menu, but she said I couldn't order pepper steak due to the chef/cook not being there so I went with just the shrimp fried rice. The shrimp fried rice was mediocre it lacked seasoning. It definitely wasn't the experience I have read about on social media....
Grease was old.. girl at the front rude & very argumentative..looks good but must Change grease
I ate the cajun rice. Its was very delicious but it gave me food poisoning
This is my first time eating here and I will never come back. The girl who took our order was nice , but that was it. We thought it was a good place because of the amount of people who are here. We ordered the spare ribs, fried rice and lo mein. For two people, it was $40!!!! We got our food and it wasn't what we thought it would be. The ribs were deep fried and my son hated the taste. I opened the box for the rice which was packed so tight that it spilled all over the table. Nothing tasted good. There was so much salt that I couldn't get any other flavor. All this because I didn't want to drive across town to General Wok. Big waste of time and money. We couldn't finish our food. We wrapped it up and on our way out, I told them how bad it was and a woman in line walked away as well. The lady inside, got upset with us. I was being honest with her about how awful everything was. Now it will become dog food. Or just garbage. I'm so upset.
Idk why they have all of these good reviews but, the food was disgusting. The lady taking orders was very nice but, the guys making the food were very rude. The place is filthy although u can’t come inside u can see in through the window. There’s built up dust, cob webs, dirty floors, dirty walls, dirty counter dirty register. Everything looks gross. I ordered what was supposed to be chicken with veggies. All of the veggies tasted freezer burnt and the chicken I’m not even sure if it was chicken. It so slimy and texture just wasn’t quite right and my eggrolls were still frozen in the middle. Long story sort of short I will never be back again.
We spent $70 on this day & ordered CATFISH dinner, PORK CHOP dinner, Salt & pepper shrimp & EXTRA fried rice & the only thing that was 1/2 way palatable was the pork chops! We were very disappointed w/ the rest!! 😡
The food here is delicious! But if you order and pay for extra , the extra should be packaged separately for transparency. Even though I've asked repeatedly for transparency and detailed out the request for my order each time, they still refuse to be transparent and deliver the order as requested. They tell me it's already in the order even though it looks exactly the same as a regular order without any extras added. Many failed attempts makes me wary of their service of serving food to our community to a high standard. I'm paying for trust and transparency as well as my order.
