I would say this is probably the best food spot in town, for a balance between food quality and price point. We tried dinner first, dinner is always a light meal for us, so we shared a salad and an appetizer, the appetizer is absolutely delicious! So we came back for lunch the second day, each ordered an entree and both were tasty. I would skip the added sides such as the house bread or the Parmesan garlic fries, not bad but pretty bland to my taste. The waiters were very attentive, they tried to offer truffle salt to make the dishes better for me. I would say the food is above average, you can feel the efforts they put in. Service is 10/10, atmosphere is super cozy but not fancy. It gets very crowded at meal time so be prepared to wait. Also always remember you don’t need to order a full course, you can always pick a few dishes to share and that way you don’t break your bank and you don’t waste food. Merry Christmas!!
At the recommendation of the shuttle bus driver, we came off mountain and had lunch in the village. Considering the ski lodge food pricing, this was a great deal. We split a grilled salmon sandwich and soup of the day, which they divided into 2 bowls (large cups) for us. Food quality was excellent. Waiter kept our water filled. Gotta hydrate at altitude!
We had a great experience at the Golden Eagle Inn restaurant. The energy was welcoming from the moment we walked in, the service was prompt and attentive, and the food was thoroughly enjoyable. A special shoutout to the Black Walnut Old Fashioned—it was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. A wonderful place to relax, enjoy a great meal, and savor a well-crafted cocktail. We’ll definitely be back.
I was super impressed by this place. Everything we ate was so delicious! Our server, Silvio, was so kind and wonderful. Couldn't have picked a better place.
We ordered a salad and mushroom soup to start then chicken, the ribeye, and the trout. Everything was delicious. Our server was outstanding. The only issue wasn’t with the food, it was that it was 75 degrees in the restaurant. It was so uncomfortable. Our waiter was nice enough to open the back door which helped.
Golden Eagle Inn is a great spot for lunch and dinner. Every time we have been here the staff is super attentive and friendly and the food is always great. We loved the portion sizes for our dinner - usually at this price point the dishes are small but the apps and entrees were really filling. We got the pork and trout and recommend both. The tuna tacos to start are also great! 😊
We had the best night with amazing food. Started with bread, warm and fresh. Had pork belly for appetizer, plated on corn salpicon. Main courses were devoted and portioned just right. Rocky mountain elk loin, medium rare, with wild rice and brocolini. The Bison teres major wS also medium rare over polenta with haricots vents and sherry of Jerez. The finishing touch, lavender blueberry creme brulee and 20 year aged port. Service was kind and warm. We sat indoors where the atmosphere was peaceful and rich with art. Highly recommend.
Our reviews had over 56 million views in the last 12 months. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Golden Eagle Inn. Located just off the ice rink in central Beaver Creek this is a great high end restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Reasonable prices full bar with good drinks and GREAT FOOD. 1st you MUST get the Tuna Tacos. We had 3 and they were fantastic. The Crispy "Maple Leaf" Duck wings are also super good and a must have., Beef tartare is great as well if you like it, I personally love a good tartare and this one is awesome. For dinner we split a Pan Roasted Jidori Chicken which was big, juicy and full of flavor. Desserts are GREAT here. LOVED the apple strudel served hot with lots of ice cream. THE LAVANDER CREME BRULEE IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS YOU WILL EVER EAT!!!! Chocolate budino is also very good. Bread here is hot and homemade. The mushroom tarte is hot and out of this world good. See photos of all the food we had. Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. loved everything about our dinner here! The food was incredible!
The food, service, and value is impeccable. We’ve been coming here every December for years now. It’s consistently delicious. The elk chili, trout, elk loin were excellent. Elk and trout were perfectly cooked- trout was crispy and soft and the elk was cooked the perfect medium rare we asked for. The old fashion cocktail is well balanced. We’ve been here for lunch, apres, and dinner and the food and cocktails are always on point. Very reasonably priced especially considering the quality of the dishes and the location. The staff makes you feel very welcomed, especially David. It’s like visiting a good friend’s house. Our server, Alexander, was attentive and has great recommendations. David and Alexander really made our dining experience enjoyable and memorable. Don’t hesitate to eat here! We will be back
The trout was amazing. Even the asparagus was cooked to perfection. Great service and nice atmosphere
Don’t let this place fool you! Went twice during my stay. The lunch menu with half sandwich/soup was perfect. Did a grilled cheese with bacon and the soup of the day was tomato basil. Had a great old fashioned! The apres/happy hour menu is limited but really unique and good choices! I did the bruschetta (not your typical bruschetta but it was so good, it had dates on it instead of tomato) and the crispy tuna tacos were incredible! All servers and hostess were beyond friendly and personable! Will be back :)
Mike was our server and was truly the perfect amount of attentive and respectful of our dining experience. The "host" (maybe even manager?) Was also a delight -- so warm & welcoming. My husband and I love elk, so got everything we could: chili, tacos & meatloaf. The chili was absolutely the best I've ever had and the meatloaf -- there are no words. Highly recommended this establishment!
Fred was an amazing addition to a wonderful meal. I came in for the beer selection (thanks to David) and elk tacos. Looked like a good time on paper. Fred offered some suggestions based on our conversations, and I ended up with the elk patti melt and a paper airplane. Never been happier with a meal! I brought our entire ski troop back there for apres ski.
The food was very good, and they accommodated all of our food preferences, gf and vegan. Great service also!
I've started to make this place a regular visit every time I'm up in Beaver Creek. The service is good and the food is always consistently good. I get the trout and absolutely love it. The duck wings are to die for!
Had a very nice meal here during ski season, and then again during the summer. The Golden Eagle Inn has a high end pub type feel to the place, we love it there and definitely would highly recommend it!
Great food and atmosphere. First Chair Fred took care of us each day that we ate there - service and conversation was top notch.
Our waiter Paul was awesome. Food was delicious and portions were generous.
What a great lunch experience! Got to meet the owner and owners son who have owned GE for 30 years. The game burger was amazing and the staff was wonderful. Looking forward to more meals here!
Impressive fare, Americana without unnecessary or overdone cuisine touches. We sampled 4 entrees, 2 apps, many drinks and enjoyed it ALL. Excellent service and recommendations by the staff. Don't hesitate to make a reservation
Best restaurant in Beaver Creek. Only restaurant that had vegetables that were fresh and steamed. Must have appetizer is the Duck Wing Drummettes. Trout, Rack of Lamb and a Shank shown in photos.
This was the absolute perfect find after ice skating all day. The comfy cozy vibes of the restaurant and friendly staff made for such a relaxed environment after being in the cold. And the server was so excellent at her recommendations that I had one of the best meals I’ve had in a while!! I’m gf/veg and usually get sides or some boring veggie skillet … but I ordered the vegan /gf gnocchi’s w/ coconut creama and our waitress recommended the fingerling potatoes, and the peppermint candid Mojito to go with it, and it was all so delicious together!!!! I couldn’t remember her name, but I know that she said she was from Croatia and thank you so much for such a great meal and evening with my family. I hope you enjoyed the extra Christmas tip and kudos to the chef! :)
The Golden Eagle was recommended to us and was the first place we ate at on vacation. Absolutely amazing mixed meat burger! Very good meal! Can’t wait to go back!
We had such a wonderful experience at the Golden Eagle Inn, thanks to Alexandru! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and cared for. His warm attitude, great menu suggestions, and attention to detail made our meal truly enjoyable. He checked in at just the right times, made sure everything was perfect, and went above and beyond to make us feel like valued guests. We could tell he really takes pride in his work and enjoys what he does. We are very thankful for his excellent service and will definitely come back — and we’ll be recommending the Golden Eagle Inn to our friends and family because of Alexandru!
My husband and I had reservations at a nearby restaurant, but when we walked by the Golden Eagle Inn, it looked so welcoming and the menu looked wonderful! We cancelled our reservation at the other restaurant and headed on into Golden Eagle Inn. Our decision didn’t disappoint, from the moment we walked in, we were seated in a cozy booth, with a restaurant with great ambiance. My husband had a delicious espresso martini. We started with the Caesar Salad and soup of the day (potato leek!!) both were delicious and you could tell the Caesar dressing was made fresh - there was even an anchovies on top. For our entrees, our server recommended the rainbow trout and game meatloaf. Both were so good, we couldn’t decide what we liked better. When leaving the host was so kind and made sure we had a great evening . We couldn’t be happier with our decision to have dinner here, and we will be back again soon!
The trout for lunch was excellent, and the ratatouille sandwich was amazing!! Far surpassed our expectations.
Excellent food, delicious drinks. The Elk was amazing and Fred delivered outstanding service.
It's rare to be impressed by all three courses, but Golden Eagle Inn achieved it. The food and service were both excellent and exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be dining here again. I'm a bread pudding fan. This one had a bit of a twist - Coconut and Cherry Bread Pudding - Whipped Ricotta, Cherry Custard. While dubious, I tried it. Unequivocally the best bread pudding I've had in Colorado and arguably among the best bread puddings I've had outright (I've had bread puddings in Georgia, Louisiana and New York to name a few). If you like bread pudding or desserts in general, I highly recommend you try this before it's replaced with something else on the menu. I wanted to order a second one. I hope your experience is as good and memorable as mine was. Enjoy!
Perfect seating, exceptional conversation while waiting to be seated with a couple from Antigua. Food Service atmosphere phenomenal. Our server was quite a comedian. Had a wonderful Après-ski afternoon.
Great food and staff. Elk loin and duck wings are incredible!
I had the elk cheese steak. The sandwich was tasty and I really enjoyed the elk meat. I had the beet salad which was outside of my comfort zone but very good. The service was excellent and I had an opportunity to speak with the owner. He is very passionate about his restaurant. I will be back here for sure.
I chose this place specifically for gluten free options (I have Celiac, so I have to be careful of cross contamination) The menu had GF options labeled. The food was excellent! I had the pan fried Rocky Mountain Trout with asparagus. Delicious! And the staff was super friendly and fun to talk with. I also rated you in the “Find Me Gluten Free” restaurant app.
This is our second time dining at the Golden Eagle Inn and once again it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and in good sized portions. Our waitress Eva is a star: She is very attentive, gave good recommendations and never missed anything. We had a lovely evening and will return during our next visit to Beaver Creek.
By far the best service I have gotten in any restaurant in recent memory! The host and my waiter were top notch! Every request was immediately handled. My basic meal was superb. I was in the mood for comfort food and they provided. It was quiet being the off season, but the staff acted happy to see me and were so responsive and concientious! It was just such a nice reminder of what truly good service feels like!
A memorable and delicious dinner at this place. Our waiter was attentive, prompt, and informative. The highlight of our night though was the owner’s son David who is an expert in beer and bourbon. He helped me pick out the perfect bourbon with dinner, provided a sample based upon my personal tastes, and also gave me some tips for finding hard to get bourbon in town. Also, the Elk entree was excellent and perfectly cooked. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
We came here with a group of 9 with a reservation, and everything surpassed our expectations. Anna was our server and she was SO wonderful and recommended the most delicious Cosmo. The wine menu is great and the baked Brie appetizer was delicious. We had a very lovely time and I would very much recommend this place!
I frequently come to Beaver Creek for recreational and professional ski commitments, and The Golden Eagle is my go-to. The food is great and reasonably priced for the area. You can spend a lot more, and not realize a better meal. The service has always been superb with Dave and his crew consistently going out of the way to make our meals enjoyable.
Nicest waiters and waitresses in the village! Always nice and respectful. Make u feel welcome! And the food is also the best!!!!!! I’m not obsessed with the bread to be honest, but everything else is a ten!!!!
The restaurant was nice and the service was very good. There were six of us and five of us had different items. We had the rabbit special which my son said was excellent. I had the salmon which was good. My husband has the trout and he said it was good. The meatloaf was different and wasn’t our fav. One couple like their steak . I would say that it was good but not exceptional food. The service was really good though
Hubby and I had dinner at Golden Eagle Inn again during our ski trip this year in early March. Nothing fancy at this joint but food is decent, plus good and fast service. We ordered the Baked Brie for appetizer. Hubby had the Grilled Shrimp & Wild Mushroom Risotto which was very tasty and my Gnocchi of Sweet Potato was delicious. This is definitely a solid spot to dine in when visiting. With that said, we will be back next season!
I've eaten here twice and was seated quickly, even with the holiday crowd. I wish they offered their tomato soup regularly on the menu. Currently, they only have one soup option aside from their chili, and if the soup of the day is non-vegetarian, it's tough for vegetarians to find an option. Otherwise, food was decent. The service was quick and efficient.
Visited around 2:45PM as a party of 2 and were seated immediately. For drinks I ordered the River Queen and another I forget the name of. For food I ordered the beet salad. It tasted good but I think they either put salt and pepper on it or the dressing was salty. Nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas for shade.
An enjoyable evening with a fantastic waiter and good food. I ordered the pan fried trout. I would not recommend this dish as this technique left it dry to my my taste. However, when I mentioned this the waiter he directed me to the lamb and brought me a plate in minutes. Perfectly done and beautifully plated. Thanks Fred. While I did not have the elk, two in our party did. They said it was a bit gamey but a unique flavor.
My husband and I spent $100 no drinks no dessert. Everything on the menu looked delicious and they had several unique offerings. We split 2 dishes. There were a few times where our server disappeared for a bit. He had a good attitude and was a pleasant guy. The fish and asparagus was not room temp when it arrived at our table, but it wasn't served piping hot. The creamy lemon sauce was good but wasn't amazing (lemon sauces aren't my favorite - but my husband often gets them). The deconstructed chicken pot pie dish had incredible flavor built into the sauce. If we had room, we would have ordered another one! We nearly cancelled our reservations later in the week to come back for this dish. We would return again and check out the lunch menu.
Good food and interesting menu. Terrific table service, Fred is hilarious and both very attentive and fun! The overall experience does leave a bit to be desired, perhaps only because there is ambiance lacking. We did not have a reservation at first, but were permitted to put our name down and return an hour later. (Reservations highly recommended in advance and credit card may be required.) Overall, this was some of the better food we had in Beaver Creek, and the location in the village is great. I enjoyed the flavor of the Duck Wings as well as the Elk Meatloaf, so points for originality and taste. However, the restaurant itself isn't all that interesting to behold and perhaps a bit ordinary? Perhaps it's one of these age-old institutions, a place synonymous with its surroundings that everyone just knows. That was the feeling I got, if maybe just a little too dated for modern tastes.
The food was amazing! Service was not up par!! Had to ask for water. We were judged based on appearance! Never had a waiter say we don't have that. Literally had to look at the menu to confirm they did sell what I asked for!!
The food and atmosphere were excellent, and it’s clear the chef is highly skilled and takes pride in the craft. The host was very courteous and welcoming, which made a great first impression. However, the overall experience was impacted by very slow service. Additionally, we asked twice to use the Golden Eagle Wi-Fi and were declined, which was disappointing given that cellular service in the village was quite unreliable. With improvements to service speed and guest accommodations, this place has the potential to be outstanding.
Their “game meatloaf” is just - meatloaf- nothing special. The salmon- dry, too much dressing on the salad. The crème brûlée was watery. The prices not great- but maybe ok for a resort town.
We have eaten at this restaurant every year while visiting Beaver Creek. It’s usually good but this year we were very disappointed by the limited menu options. My daughter didn’t like the gnocchi and the salmon made me sick.
