Wanted to try a new place for Tuesday date night. We ended up here. Greeted immediately upon entering, we were asked if we had a reservation. We did not. We were seated promptly. Decor is clean and comforting. Nice looking dining area and bar. Waitress was very attentive. A gentleman was also training either her and he was also very attentive and friendly. Drinks were delicious, I highly recommend the Crownberry Mule. Spring rolls were tasty but for the price, portion should have been a bit bigger. Monte Cristo sandwich was very good. Perfect blend of sweet and salty. Meatloaf was good but priced a bit high. It says Waygu meatloaf but truly didn’t taste any different than a regular 80/20 beef. Sides were all good. We will be returning to try other meals. Both the manager and the bar tender checked in on us to make sure we were all set. That caught my attention since we were at a table not the bar. Great job to the bartender.
Very tasty, we had the Brie and bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer and they were very good. My wife had the steak salad and was very pleased the steak was perfectly cooked. I had the Monty Cristo and it was delicious…my wife really enjoyed the Dubai Chocolate martini, so much so that she ordered a second one. Our waitress Abby was very good and Joe the bartender was a pleasure to chat with…we will definitely be going back
We had a great meal. Everything was delicious. Our waiter Joe made it a great experience. From the rolls to the lollipop lamb chomps so good.
I had the pleasure of playing music as a Dj for a wonderful family yesterday at Murphy, as you may or may not know and have been in business since 1974 and am also a longtime reviewer on google and found this beautiful establishment with a beautiful large ballroom and wonderful staff and food to add to my list of referred venues , the staff very very accommodating, the food was excellent and the ballroom as I call it was expansive and just breathtaking please see the pics my congrats to Murphy on this beautiful well run venue!
First of all it's a convenient location, second of the venue is beautiful by itself. We hosted so many events there in the last three years. Great for celebrating birthdays, baby showers, fundraising and more. A lot of parking. The large room is beautiful and spacious. The menu is great, you have a lot of options of chicken, beef and lamb. Good selection of cocktails and beer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice lunch in the area or to celebrate the event.
We had an excellent early dinner at Murphy's. They were able to accommodate allergies for the lobster roll, which is very rare! Everything was tasty and fresh. The short rib was delicious and tender, fish and chips was flaky, perfectly cooked and huge. Crab cake was filled with crab and a huge portion. Server was very attentive and friendly. Martinis were lovely.
We had a fantastic time at Murphy's Taproom. Our server DAVID was super professional and a pleasure to chat with... he even helped us make some great food choices based on his personal knowledge of the menu items. The food was phenomenal and we practically licked the plates clean! Kudos to the chef! We were visiting from MA. for the night but will definitely be back if we're in the area!
If there were a Michelin Guide for service, David would have his own galaxy of stars. From the moment we sat down, David transformed our evening into an unforgettable culinary performance—think Broadway meets MasterChef. Not only did he possess an encyclopedic knowledge of every single dish (and we tested him—we asked about nearly all of them), but he delivered each answer with a level of passion, humor, and charisma that made us feel like VIPs at a private chef’s table. His professionalism was impeccable—attentive without hovering, polished without pretension. And yet, his energy? Electric. His timing with a joke? Impeccable. We didn't just dine—we laughed, we learned, and we left feeling like we'd just spent an evening with a longtime friend who also happens to be a five-star culinary guide. Now, the food? Yes, it was absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was a masterpiece. But the truth? We would come back even if they were only serving crackers—as long as David was our waiter. In fact, we’ll be making future reservations with one condition: David must be working that night. If he’s not available, we’ll happily reschedule. Because once you’ve had a “David dinner,” there’s simply no going back. Bravo, David. You are the soul of the dining experience.
Food was delicious. Service was great. I love the steak and cheese spring rolls but decided to try something else and it did not disappoint. So amazing! Love the Irish pub decor
Had a family dinner here, the food was amazing. Service was fantastic and we all had an amazing time. Bar is extensively stocked, something for everyone
I will be going back. Our office went here for lunch and I did not have the opportunity to take in everything. It was very comfortable seating for our group of nine and we were all able to talk with each other. The seats were placed on one side and a booth on the other side, both the chairs and booth were cushioned and comfortable. The space was open, airy, and fresh. The menu has a good selection. Plus fresh brewed ice tea.
We came for a rainy Saturday night and David D. was our server. Got the table in the nook which is a nice cozy corner. Food was good overall. Drinks were great. Server was top notch.
Friendly atmosphere, great food, and excellent service is why this place gets 5 stars. I've been here several times and it's just always excellent. Whether you are just trying to have a meal or have a entertaining night out this is a great place to be.
I really love this place. The food selection is really good and my family consistently can't decide on their meal. The outside patio in the summer is a real treat even with the traffic noise on 101. The beer list is pretty diverse and can find some good craft selection.
Great restaurant with fantastic food, service and value for money. Flexible menu options including a buffet option for family or corporate events ensure you will find everything you are looking for. A must try as part of any meal at Murphy's are the desert's, you won't be disappointed. Great service, ample seating, great decor and tons of parking.
I was here for our company Christmas luncheon. The food and service were fantastic! The place is beautiful, clean and huge! It is a great place to hold various types of venues!
Had the Mushroom Risotto flavor was on point and the bartender Serenity was Amazing very cheerful and bright. Would definitely come back just to see her and have a drink!
My experience at this place was great! We came for a surprise birthday dinner and Lauren was amazing the whole time! She made the celebration very memorable 🩷
We have a family get together every November to celebrate the holidays and birthdays (5 in November) For the past 3 years this get together has been at Murphy's in Bedford. This year there were 10 of us on Saturday, the waitress(forgot her name) was wonderful. The food, cobb salad, Onion soup, fish & chips, rueben sandwich and other items, the drinks and the atmosphere was wonderful. See you next November. (No food pics)
We braved the snow to get here but well worth it. It was a great place for our business dinner last night. Our server Lauren was excellent. Thank you.
Great place, great food, great service, great vibes. Live music was really great. Our server Tamera was a rockstar! I definitely recommend trying the Caribbean bowl!!!
Beautiful establishment with wonderful service by the bartender Serenity! Very attentive and always smiling. Food was great recommend the cheese steak spring rolls!
Tamra is an amazing server and the food/atmosphere is great. Love the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place for any special occasion
Great service with a lot of options. Bar, smaller tables, a side room with more privacy and a big event space as well. Many food options and great staff.
Food and atmosphere were great. Tamara was an excellent server and added to birthday luncheon
Lauren was a great server. She made our Valentine’s Day incredible!
Highly recommend this restaurant/bar/gathering place. First, the service was fantastic from the minute we reached out to them to say we were coming with a large group. Chris was so accommodating and the waitstaff, especially Joe, was pleasant, professional, competent and efficient. Happy hour on drinks and apps on the patio was fantastic. They bent over backwards to accommodate us. No laziness here. No extra charges. Great atmosphere and the food was good quality for a great value. Highly recommend.
Always a sure thing to grab a quick bite and cold drink. Our server Serenity was so polite and very quick.
I had a great experience with friends with Lauren as our server! Would highly recommend to others!
I had the pleasure of visiting Murphy’s Taproom & Carriage House recently, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and lively, setting the perfect tone for the evening. What really stood out was the fantastic service we received from Serenity, the bartender. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, and made sure our glasses were never empty. Her recommendations were spot on! The food was delicious, with every dish being flavorful and well-prepared. But the drinks were definitely the highlight—creative, refreshing, and perfectly crafted to complement our meal. We also appreciated the quick service—there was little to no wait time at all, which made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend Murphy’s Taproom & Carriage House for anyone looking for great food, amazing drinks, and top-tier service!
We stopped at Murphy's and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. The live music and food was really good. But the real standout was our server Tamra. She was just so attentive and friendly, and every single thing she suggested turned out exactly as she described. You don't find service like that very often. If you're in Bedford, definitely check this place out! Grab the wings and French onion soup, and ask for Tamra.
I was just up in New Hampshire visiting family when I stumbled upon Murphy’s. Our waitress Serenity was very bubbly and entertaining. We had great food and great drinks thanks to her. I would highly recommend to any of my family or friends that still live in the area to go see her again. Cheers EB
Murphy's Taproom and Carriage House did not disappoint! After hearing so much about it, my husband and I had to try it for ourselves. The food was fantastic—we over-ordered because everything looked so good, and the steak was perfection. Even as a homemade sangria snob, I loved their red sangria! Shoutout to our wonderful waitress (I'm kicking myself for forgetting her name! It was a unique name) who handled a busy room with such grace… attentive and everything she recommended was great. 10/10 recommend, and we will absolutely be back!
Food here is always great. The atmosphere is nice and Tamra, our server, is always great. She remembered us and our preferences and that's not something you can get everywhere. Will definitely be visiting again.
Murphys is great! I love the food and the prices are reasonable. The servers are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual. Sometimes they have live music. The restaurant is very clean and there is plenty of parking. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lauren was an amazing server!!! She made everything so comfortable for us, and she gave so much insight on recommendations for the food we ordered. She made everything sound so good, and she was correct with it all!!
Solid place, great bar and place for lunch and dinner. Service was great as well.
Great place for small get togethers as they have medium to smaller rooms you can use. Food is good and price is where you expect for the area. Only down side was the time between placing orders. As an example, when asked for a second drink we asked to place the order in about ten minutes, we were trying to time it with the desert. After about five minutes we placed the desert order, then an additional ten minutes and we were asked if we now wanted to order the drinks? So we ended up with the deserts then the drinks when we were expecting to do just the opposite. Once placed it did not take long though.
Good food and service. This was our first time at Murphy's. We had an appetizer, General Taos cauliflower. It was very good. We also had the Wild Mushroom Ravioli which was really good. Melissa was our server and she was excellent. I would recommend trying out this place.
The restaurant was comfortable, service was attentive and friendly, but the food was priced higher than the quality warranted. The food came out room temp and some was over cooked, some under cooked, so it was odd. Overall it was a positive experience, but definitely tough on the wallet for what we ate.
We had a late lunch yesterday. The place was quiet. Bartender, forgot his name, was really good. The food was good. She ordered Salmon, me meatloaf. She loved her meal, ate every bite of it. Meatloaf was good but I think I would have preferred without the bacon. The bacon was not cooked enough, at least for me. Well certainly go back again.
Good food, great service ... it was new years day so it was very quite, not able to judge how busy it really could be on a regular day.
The place was clean. The server was amazing, even though this was her first day on the job! She was the star, and the manager was also on point. However, we were sat with a party of 12 to 15, with 5 kids that were not supervised. Like to the level that 3 girls were in the ladies room looking under stalls. I know this because my nephews gf told me so. Upon then seeing their behavior in the room, running on the bench seats, yelling, etc... this was not a good experience. The parents even apologized upon leaving. Really? The food... well the appetizers were good. Nothing overly great but they tasted good. The sauce on the meatballs was good on the cheese. curds. The burnt end tacos were by far the best dish. Yummy. My burger delivered was the wrong Burger. No onion straws and no blue cheese, as pictured. I noticed it before even touching it, and the manager had the correct burger to me in 7 minutes. Replacement hot fries would have been nice to enjoy hot fries with my burger. Guess I expect too much. Now the large disappointment was the BBQ chicken pizza. We were told it was brick oven. It clearly was not. It almost seemed like it was on pre-made dough and was heated up. Wayyyy too chewy. I'm a visitor so I likely won't be back, but I did sign up my nephew to hopefully give this place a second chance.
I frequently go here. The food us usually top notch, one chef doesn't know how to make a French onion soup so that is hit or miss. Drinks have always been on point but last night I got what I could only consider a sample size of an old fashioned. Very sweet and pink, almost like the forgot the bourbon. Only us and 1 other couple on the whole place, things should be perfect when you're the only customer.
I recently went to an event at the Carriage House. Food was supposed to be out by 10:30 and food slowly started trickling out an hour later. It was supposed to be a brunch and everyone was starving. The couple throwing the event were NOT happy and embarrassed. The bar was left unattended for probably an hour. My water was gone and no one ever came to refill the glasses. It seems like there was a lot of confusion and no one knew what they were doing. I'm thinking they were short staffed but for how much they paid for this event there should have been more than two people assigned to this room. (For majority of the party there was literally no one around) The hot food was delicious when it finally came out after 2 hours. The staff was friendly... But the fact that you had dozens of hungry guests made this a less than stellar event. I really hope the couple throwing the event got a partial refund.
My son and now daughter in law had their wedding/reception on a beautiful day in September. The wedding coordinator Michelle was very responsive to my emails and questions leading up to the big day. She even let the bridal party arrive early on the day of to get ready and take pictures. I had met with Adam the assistant wedding coordinator at the rehersal.dinner and showed him the decorations, favors and items we needed set up that day. I fully expected to have to come in early and set up everything ourselves. However when we walked in the room was beautiful. Adam had even taken the time to set up the sweetheart table with flowers I had brought and even added some of his own personal.touches! It was beautiful! They had their ceremony outside on the patio and it was beautiful. We met with Michelle the day before for the rehersal so everyone felt comfortable. There was a little hiccup during the ceremony when my husband and I went to sit. We asked Michelle if she could put 10 chairs across the front row, but when my husband and I went up the aisle there was no place for us to sit. Luckily my sister and niece moved for us. Although Adam didnt have the timeline for the wedding from Michelle he was amazing! Throughout the day he and the other waitstaff checked with me about the timeline and guests who needed specific dietary meals if they werent clear from the notes they had. MIchelle had mentioned that a firepit could be brought out so we had made smores kits, however I dont think she passed along that message to her staff. Luckily Adan was amazing and quickly brought out the firepit and smores as soon as we noticed! The staff even quickly went to put the wedding cake topper on the cake as soon as we realized before the bride and groom cut the cake. Adam and all the the new young staff could not have worked harder to make this day special for my son and now daughter in law.
It's appealing from far. You drive by and that beautiful patio gleaming under the sunshine calls you. I would love to just get in, literally. The first few times we tried, we were turned away for no reservations. So, no problem. The last time I drove by and was drawn in, I called to make that reservation. When I called, it was almost as if the girl on the phone didn't want to take the reservation. She stated, well I can't guarantee you a table. My reply, we are usually turned away for not having reservations. Can we just eat? Great, she took my name. They had so much confusion about seating and tables when we arrived. Very unorganized in the front of house. We waited a good 15 minutes before being Sat at the bar outside which had no bartender even though we specified we would really like a patio table when we called. There were plenty of tables available and adequately spaced for safety, but they weren't getting sat. The glassware need some attention. The glassware I aquired had old stains on it and some residue. I don't know what from, old food maybe. I just figured alcohol will kill the germs. The food was ok. We waited for a few minite to grab someone's attention for some silverware and napkins. They were never offered, even after our food was delivered. I thought it was for a bland palette, and pricey for the quality. The gazpacho was a good portion for two to share, but lacked any sort of spice or flavor. The lobster roll had a lot of large unseasoned chunks, the bun was soft. I had it with drawn butter, the meat inside was served cold, no lemons. The onion rings are really good and fluffy. They were the best thing I ate that afternoon. Overall, it's an expensive patio that you have to beg to get in to sit down on. I can't get myself to do it again, not soon anyway.
Came Monday evening, November 3rd. My first time here and the service was awful. And I’ll preface this with I am a server so I fully understand how a restaurant works. Waited over 5 minutes up front for anyone to show up and seat us.Not the worst thing that can happen. It’s a server and she seats us in the other servers section and tells us she’ll be right over. More than 5 minutes go by and she comes back and tells us she can’t find her but offers us water and a drink. When my GF asks if a specific drink is a martini the girl says no…but yes it is. Ok, not a big deal. More than another 5 minutes goes by (so like 12 -15 total just waiting at the table) and our server (young girl) comes over and introduces herself like nothing has happened at all. Btw, the restaurant is empty except for 3 people at the bar. I get being distracted by side work or if you’re weeded but making a table sit there almost 15 minutes in an empty restaurant and not even offering an apology is just terrible service and screams I don’t care about my guests. I tipped almost 25% which is a far cry from the 50%+ I normally tip and it wasn’t deserved. But as a server it feels wrong to me to be cheap. So if you read this, DO BETTER. I’ll go back if my GF is in the mood for that place but bad service drives away guests. Very disappointed in the lack of caring and pride in the work.
This place is such a joke. We live close by and have tried to come here several times over the years in hopes that the experience would improve and have been proven wrong every time. You go there and there's never anyone there yet they act like they are way too busy to even acknowledge you exist. Just walked out to the patio on a beautiful friday night in August where there was no sign that said you couldn't seat yourself. There were 5 out of 25 tables with people and 3 servers walking around. We sat there for 20 minutes and watched all 3 servers walk by us without even acknowledging us and finally gave up. We said as we walked out that we would never try there again since its the same thing every time. Service is always awful, food is terrible, and its always a disappointment. Its amazing this place is still in business, only thing they have going is their location. Finally giving up on giving them more chances to be a disappointment.
Price vs food quality does not match. Everything seems to be straight from the us food or Sysco truck but marked way up and small portions. Ordered the cauliflower and portion size was humorous to say the least. Service is sporadic and from what I saw staff isn’t treated very well by management. Could hear yelling coming from somewhere pretty frequently which was odd. Try it and make up your own mind but don’t say you weren’t warned!
