Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner on Sunday the place was packed.! We started off with the smokin tots which came out very fast and were very good our server was very nice and made sure everything was up to par for my meal I got the bayou chicken pasta it came out very hot and was full of flavor my girlfriend got the chicken burrata with fries the chicken was tender and the fries were hot and crispy a little too salty for my liking but nothing to complain about I highly recommend this spot

All of the staff were very friendly, including our server, Patrick! We both got the steak and avocado salad, the steak was cooked perfectly and it had the perfect amount of dressing. The rosemary parmesan fries had the perfect amount of seasoning.

The restaurant is in a vibrant location and has a fun atmosphere. The drink menu is creative and extensive. There are plenty of meal, bowl and sandwich choices. Try the Old Fashioned!

Caitlin was phenomenal. Attentive and took time to suggest her favorite food items to us. Food was delicious. Located central in Tuscan village with great views. The ambiance in the restaurant felt very welcoming. Overall a great experience.

Excellent Mother’s Day brunch! With a free app for nurses week & a little candle as a free gift for Mother’s Day. The staff was friendly & everything was quick.

Great food, even better vibes. Came here during the Christmas market was a really fun time and great spot to catch Saturday night football with a bunch of screens. For food we snacked on the pretzels and got the buffalo cauliflower. Both were very tasty and will have us coming back for more soon! If there are only 2 of you and it's a long wait definitely check the bar upstairs it has plenty of seating

We went to Tavern during Tuscan village fall festival. It was rainy and we were looking for a place to eat. We ordered tacos, burger and warm goat cheese with bread. Everything was good. This is our second time at Tavern and we like the views and ambience. A lot of people, even we were there earlier, around noon. The only thing - they don't have changing table in bathroom on second floor.

Alex, our server, was awesome during Sunday brunch. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich, order a side of ham and add it in, it takes it to the next level! Thank me later. We’ll definitely be back for brunch before Pats games. Great/fair prices too!

The food was great and so wasn’t the pricing. For atmosphere the only reason for 4 stars is it is very loud. Hard to talk to people at your table. Quick service!

We gathered to celebrate my niece’s 25th birthday, and our server, Ash, truly made the occasion special. She was not only friendly and fun but also incredibly attentive, enhancing our overall dining experience. The appetizers we selected were a highlight, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Our main courses were equally delicious, and the drinks we ordered perfectly complemented our meal. Ash’s warm and attentive service created a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made the celebration even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!!!

Went only a few days after they opened and they nailed it! The staff was wonderful (there were so many people running around, working hard), the food was fabulous and the atmosphere was great. We sat at the bar around 11:40AM and we were greeted by a male and a female, I forget their names I am sorry for that. They were attentive and kind, gave us plenty of time to just sit and relax and decide what we wanted for lunch. Two managers checked in and even apologized for the time it took for our lunch to come out (we didn’t notice a delay)…. They were supporting their staff and all worked great together. I got the steak crunch wrap and it was so good. Chicken tenders were the other order also 10/10. The female bar tender offered us a loyalty/rewards card and we happily accepted… I imagine it won’t be a regular visit for me because it is so busy and popular and the parking out there in Tuscan Village is slammed but I can’t wait to go back someday. I am pleased to see they are coming to Bedford, NH in 2025! Highly recommend and will tell my friends.

This newer location is great! View is great, easy parking. Staff are wonderful. The manager on duty today was walking around checking in on tables. That goes a long way! Food was super yummy! Definitely reserve a table on “OpenTable” app beforehand. This place gets busy.

This was my first time at the Tavern, and we went around 1 pm. The food was amazing. We got the pretzels with beer cheese, I am not a fan of beer cheese, but this was really good. The pretzels were hot and nice and soft. I highly recommend the blueberry/strawberry lemonade. It was the best. For entrees, we had the steak and cheese crunch wrap and steak tips. The steak tips were cooked perfectly, and the wrap was very flavorful. Even though they were really busy, everyone had a smile on their face! Our waitress was amazing and very attentive. A little pricey but worth every penny.

Great, casual and slightly upscale place for apps, sandwiches, and flatbreads. They have a unique drink menu, I got the cosmo spritz it was light, sweet and bubbly. I also got the chicken avocado club with the tots. The chicken was super fresh and cooked well. Sandwich had a great flavor. We went here with a big group for a birthday and they got us in which was great. Very busy spot. They have tables for larger groups but also a massive bar. I would recommend getting here close to when they open before it gets too packed. Food and drinks came out quickly and our server was friendly and attentive.

Excited to try out this newly added restaurant and it did not disappoint. Was able to make a reservation online with a breeze which is recommended as it was busy even for a Sunday afternoon. I prefer GF as I have a sensitivity. The crispy ranch chicken gf handheld sandwich that included bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, with scallion ranch was amazing! I ordered the parmesan rosemary garlic fries. Delicious! There are many GF options to try and we are looking forward to coming back.

Service at the bar was awesome. Our barmaid, forgive me if I mess up her name Maura. Was very pleasant and polite. The atmosphere is awesome and rustic. A little loud but bearable. The TV game play is great. We enjoyed everything and will be a regular customer. We're lucky it's only 15 minutes from home.

Love a Tavern in the Square. This one just opened up and I was impressed. The food was delicious and the staff was top tier. Finally a good sports bar, located in Tuscan Village! I will always recommend the chicken tenders. We tried the bang bang broccoli this time and it was great too!

First time visiting Tavern in the Square happened to be on NYE. We visited based on a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! Our party of 5 arrived around 9:30pm without a reservation and we were seated immediately. Our server, Maya, did a great job considering the crowded restaurant. We ordered the margarita tower and a few appetizers. The margarita tower isn’t cheap ($75) but it was arguably worth it because they made it strong. The tater tot appetizer and Nachos were both delicious. The bang bang broccoli was decent but too spicy to enjoy the flavor. Excited to return someday and try more of the food at (T)avern (I)n (T)he (S)quare

Had Renee for a waitress... talk about going above and beyond!!! Her smile! Her personality really helped after an argument with my husband on the way there. We are picky eaters. Renee made sure everything we wanted came to us perfectly! The food was excellent! But we will definitely be back to see Renee to get service like that is unheard of these days, we will definitely be recommending tavern to everyone. (Just ask for Renee) 😉

I go there almost everyday! The people that work there are aways so nice and awesome! The food is great. My favorite is the Barbecue Chicken pizza! Going there is like being "with family"!

Atmospherw, waitstaff, quality and quantity of food excellent. The best GF options I've had in awhile. I had a GF fried chicken sandwich and I was in HEAVEN. Thick, jucy and flavorful.

I visit tavern in the square in Tuscan village quite regularly, and I’ve never had a negative experience!! I can’t say enough about the food, environment, and lovely staff. Specifically Younique, she was great yesterday and I will definitely be coming back. I love tavern in the square!!

I absolutely love Tavern in the Square. I’m not sure what it is about the space, but the atmosphere is such a vibe every time I go. The giant bar right in the center of the first floor really sets the tone — it’s lively, energetic, and just a great place to hang out. The food never disappoints. I usually go with a few apps and a burger, and it always hits the spot. The drinks are great too, whether you’re grabbing a casual beer or something a little more crafted. The place is always bumpin’, which just adds to the overall experience. I also recently found out they take reservations, which is a game-changer considering how popular it is. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Salem!

First time at Tavern in the Square Salem, NH location. I met friends out of dinner and drinks on a Tuesday night. Made reservations for a high top table. It was comfortably warm inside considering the frigid weather we have been having. Our waitress was very attentive. Almost overly attentive. We all enjoyed our meals. I got the quinoa bowl which was excellent. I added chicken to it, which was not necessary. The bowl was large enough without a protein addition. I look forward to returning again. Five Stars!

My wife and I went there yesterday (09/20/2025) for the first time. We had some friends tell us about it a few weeks ago. We were welcomed when we arrived and I gave my name to wait for a table. We went upstairs to the bar to sit and wait to be called. Our bar tender was awesome. She was friendly and helpful. While at the bar, I noticed a manager walking by and asked if we could have a seat upstairs when our table was ready. He was so nice to speak with and within two minutes, we were seated upstairs in a perfect spot, with great sunshine and a soft breeze. Just when you thought it couldn't get better, our waiter, James came by to ask us what we needed. Again, a great experience with him. He was a great help after we let him know that this was our first time there. He made some great recommendations that we tried. James was very attentive considering how busy it was. The food was fantastic and staff made it more enjoyable. Thank you James and sorry to the bartender, that I didn't get her name. We will definitely return soon, Thank you all!

This was our second d time here. Our first time was New Year's Eve. It was excellent. Today was our daughter's 18th birthday and she chose TSQ. Raven was our server. That was the best service we have had in many year. She was outstanding!!! Thank you!

The food is good, very well prepared, and the portions are generous. The food also came out quickly, which was excellent. My only observation is that I saw the servers wrapping the silverware without wearing gloves 😬😬

Sat at the bar and ordered a banana foster old fashioned for a drink. For dinner I ordered their baked tortellini bolognese. The old fashioned was excellent and the tortellini was very good as well.

I visited Tavern in the Square at Tuscan Village last night at around 6pm, and it was a great experience overall. Even without a reservation, we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. We were sent to the second floor and seated in a booth, which is always my preferred choice so that was a great start! Our server was super friendly and attentive. For drinks, my friend had three "Boss Margaritas" (details in the picture), which speaks for itself, and I had two "Talk Tiki To Me" cocktails, which were just as impressive. Both were well-mixed, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering again, multiple times obviously!! We started with the Rosemary Parmesan Fries with garlic aioli sauce, and they did not disappoint. They were crispy, perfectly salted, and had just the right amount of rosemary. For entrées, we both ordered the Sesame Salmon Bowl, and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the mango salsa was top-notch. The portion size was generous without being overwhelming. To finish things off, we had the Warm Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie, which was easily one of the best I've had. It was crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and paired with delicious ice cream. A perfect way to end the meal. The atmosphere was lively, though at times it was difficult to hear my friend over the music and surrounding conversations. I also noticed a security guard present--not something I typically expect at a restaurant, but it didn't impact our experience (except when he awkwardly stared at us while we attempted to take a selfie). The bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. Parking, however, was a bit of a challenge, and with the cold weather, it made things slightly inconvenient. Despite those minor issues, we had a great time and would definitely return. If you're looking for good food, strong drinks, and a fun atmosphere, this spot is worth checking out!

Usually other Tavern in the Square locations are fairly consistent, but this one is a little off. Been to here and other locations 4-5 times in the past few months, and the food here just isn’t quite up to par with the others. But it’s also the busiest location it seems.

J
Jennifer

Meh. Honestly, it was overpriced. The atmosphere is nice (they dimmed the lights at a certain point and I couldn't see my food very well so there was that), the food was fine, but I was not blown away by either. I'd go again if someone I know wanted to go there, but I would definitely not go out of my way to go there. And I find the whole Tuscan Village thing a little weird. Upscale but... not? Trying too hard? Meh. None of it would be my first or even second choice.

I am updating my review as a result of a new experience 5-11-2025 ... it all derives from "training and company expectations". Lowering the " Star rating to 3" and below. I visited the Bar and it was less than half full, so it wasn't busy- no excuses. #1. The waitress took my order and never checked back for "anything" until it was time to go. She had plenty of time "NO excuses", even walked right by my seat a couple times, and never checked in. However, I chatted briefly with another waitress. #2. My entrée' was the "Stake Avocado Salad" the Salad portion seems to be SHRINKING DRAMATICALLY. I wasn't satisfied at all with the portion.. I have had it several times before. The Stake- tips were not tender at all, too chewy...almost shoe leather... Management needs to review the Kitchen, what the cooks are putting out. Management needs train their Waitress and Waiters to the "Company's expectations and standards"- do you have any?? The- Tavern should be mandating their expectations.. and not let the staff do it their way! If a waitress or waiter cant take care of their customer they shouldn't be employed here, plain and simple. The customer is the absolute MOST important thing. The wait-staff should be making every effort to be attentive to help and assist the customer. Not taking an order and be gone................................then serve the bill/check. She deserved nothing for a tip, because she did "nothing" .. I was too good! """"" NEVER """"" again will I tip for horrible service, and" I will confront the server"! This will never happen again... I have had some excellent entrees and service here, but this time the food content was marginal and the help was horrible.. __________ Previous review below... I've been here a few times. Its a casual environment and casual dress, not fancy... with booths, hi-top tables and a large bar and tv's making it convenient to watch some sporting events. Also there is a second floor, its a bit smaller. They offer a decent menu. I've had a couple items that were good, the "Avocado Stake Tip Salad" and "Baja Fish Tacos". The Tacos were good, and NOT a typical deep fried battered fish. So glad they had an option of something different than "deep fried battered". Service has typically been good and "some" of the bartenders have a great personality.

My friend had a lot of great things to say about Tavern in the Square, but my experience was pretty underwhelming. The atmosphere was nice and the view was beautiful. We sat at the bar, and while the bartender was fine, he gave off that “bartender who hates you for no reason” vibe. I ordered a fall sangria and couldn’t even drink it. Definitely not for me, and I didn’t mention it because I could tell he already wasn’t thrilled I was there. For dinner, I got the NY strip steak. I’m a big steak girl, and while it was cooked perfectly, it had no flavor. A little salt goes a long way! The green beans were underdone, and the fries came out cold. For $40, I left wishing I had gone to Texas Roadhouse instead. My friend tried the General Tso’s chicken and said it was dry and way too spicy. On the plus side, the ranch dip appetizer was good, but it came with literally two carrot sticks and two celery sticks, which felt like more of a garnish. The chips however, were pretty good. All in all, the view was great, but it didn’t make up for the mid-level food and lackluster service.

The place was extremely busy! The food was ok! Our waiter was on point checking in and very polite. I would definitely recommend the chicken dumplings amazing!! The buffalo cauliflower was not crispy! Bummer! Will come back for their salted caramel martini!!! It was amazing!!

I have been to Tavern a few times with my family. I’ve never been disappointed with the food. My daughter loves their food so it was the obvious choice for her 18th birthday lunch. I do not recommend going to celebrate a birthday. The host and server forgot (yes forgot) so I mentioned it again. I was left waiting for the “birthday cake with ice cream and a candle” that never came. I asked for the bill and had to wait for a cookie skillet to be taken off the bill that we never ordered. As we were getting ready to just walk out my daughter was brought out a cookie skillet with less enthusiasm than they give when serving your food. So much for a special moment huh?!

I stopped in tonight after work for dinner and drinks, and this was my first visit. Our waitress was excellent—friendly, attentive, and quick. The food was solid; the burgers, fries, and fried pickles were good. Unfortunately, the cocktail I ordered was a major disappointment. I ordered a Grey Goose martini with a splash of olive juice, a drink I’ve had countless times at other restaurants. What I received tasted watered down, more like water with a hint of olive juice than an actual martini. This is not a drink that’s hard to make or easy to mess up. Grey goose, vermouth, splash of olive juice- shake- pour. The only way this could be diluted from ice is if the liquid was warm or hot.. it was clear that what I was served was not Grey Goose. I know how I feel after drinking a martini and this was not that.. It left me with the impression that either lower-quality vodka was substituted while charging a premium price, or the drink was intentionally watered down to make an extra buck.. I can’t say for sure because I didn’t think I needed to watch them make my drink but it’s important to know- in New Hampshire substituting brands without telling the customer, and refilling bottles is illegal ( Statutes 179:40). Either way, it felt like profit was being placed above customer experience. For that reason, I won’t be returning. I planned to spend a few hours there and have more cocktails, dessert etc. But because of this I closed out and went to Copper door for dessert and drinks. There are places across the street who have a consistently excellent dinner and cocktail experience. While this may seem like a bit much over a cocktail… it’s an expensive world and not a difficult ask.

We recently tried this place for the first time with our family and, unfortunately, it just wasn’t for us. A few of us ordered the Korean chicken sandwich, and after one bite, I knew it wasn’t something I enjoyed. The other two people who ordered the same didn’t like it neither. My daughter had the chicken club, which she found pretty plain and lacking flavor. My sons ordered the Tavern burgers, and while they were okay, they weren’t anything special. The one standout for us was the sweet potato fries — those were really good. I also want to mention that our waiter was very sweet and did a great job. The service was excellent. Overall, while the staff was wonderful, the food just didn’t meet our expectations

S
Steven diciaccio

Our waitress was excellent. I ordered Bud Light draft. Each time the beer was warm in a room temperature glass. The restaurant was approximately 82°. So uncomfortable. The waitress told us we know you feel. We are running around the restaurant so we feel it more than you do. When we asked to turn down the heat we were told they can’t turn it down because if they did the heating system would go down to 40°. Some of us walked outside in only our shirts to cool off in the 25° weather

B
Brandon Fish

The male bartender with all the tattoos was so rude. We asked for many requests and there ended up being a a foreign object in our friend’s drink. This man needs to be fired immediately if you want this bar to survive. Worst service I’ve received in my life

J
J Jimenez

So once again, I love their food, but their service sucks right on more than one occasion I get there around 10:30 PM to place an order trying to figure out how to place the order through the DoorDash app and they closed the kitchen on me right which is super super irritating and then she’s like all right. I can just do the order here in the house OK which is fine it’s not an issue but the reason why I’m using the DoorDash app because I deliver with DoorDash so I’m able to use coupons and get the food at a discounted price so I’m sitting there waiting for five minutes for this lady to take my order she’s just looking at her screen and then I’m just like you know what never mind the ladies have a good night or you don’t want the food anymore. Of course I don’t you look alone you guys are taking just to take my order there’s nobody in the damn store. I’m the only one in here. I don’t know you guys the food is great but don’t go there. Don’t visit there. I feel like they really don’t like to accommodate to people or at least not to me. I had to transfer money from my bank account to my Apple Pay to place the order and now that I can’t place the order how am I gonna transfer the money back from my Apple Pay to my bank account without getting charged a fee . I hate poor service. I despise it and that to me was poor service. I don’t care how good the food is in that place. I won’t put a dollar in that establishment’s pockets ever.

Sat at the bar and the service was nonexistent. The bartenders were rude when we asked for well pretty much anything. It was as if we were putting them out. They never actually approached us, we had to get their attention anytime we wanted anything. I’m not sure how the service is on the floor but if it’s a busy night don’t bother sitting at the bar. Disappointing… when we said something to one of the bartenders Joey, who actually did approach us as we were wrapping up and getting dessert he offered to buy our dessert. So if you do sit at the bar make sure you get Joey.

I stopped in for dinner on Saturday 12/20/25. I used to visit this location frequently and always opt to sit at the rooftop bar. Unfortunately, the experience has declined significantly. Starting with service: guests now wait 20 minutes or more only to receive oddly tasting cocktails. While it was nice not being charged for the drinks, I would much rather pay for a properly made cocktail than be served something of questionable quality. The bartenders now, disappear after you find a seat or seem unsure how to assist guests even with simple requests, questions, etc. Moving on to the food: in past visits, the food was always appetizing, fresh, and cooked to proper safety standards. Now, the food matches the service—subpar at best. My chicken was severely undercooked and inedible. Although the rest of my meal was fine, I strongly recommend skipping the food entirely. If you choose to visit, your best option is to go to the first floor for a drink and dine at one of the surrounding restaurants instead. As a disclaimer, this is strictly my honest review of the Salem location. I have had no prior issues at other Tavern in the Square locations. My experience may not have been the same as others and I’d like to remind everyone my opinion is not the only one out there. Best of luck to the Tavern in the Square Salem.

So, you know how the staff at Chic Fil A are always smiling and saying, “My pleasure”? Well, forget all that. It was a long day for me and I just wanted to unwind with my husband in a fun atmosphere. We went directly upstairs to the host station and asked how long the wait was “up here”. The visibly annoyed hostess replied, “The same as it is downstairs”, assuming we were trying to outsmart the system. Fast forward to this evening’s highlight when I received my go-to gluten free meal with pasta instead of rice. I asked the bartender about the pasta and she sharply stated, “You said gluten free”. I politely (for real) let her know rice is gluten free and she summoned my plate with her hand saying they’d remake it. My husband was done with his meal before mine came back and there was never an apology or a check back. My meal was dry and had to have been sitting for a while. The manager came out with a second meal, accidentally, and HE apologized, which was nice but somehow I felt like he thought I was the ‘Karen’ of this scenario. This was the second time we sat at the bar and had a miserable bartender! It just sucks that the staff are allowed to behave this way and ruin my favorite place.

J

I really enjoy the food here, but unfortunately, I’ve had three disappointing experiences in a row. My most recent visit was particularly frustrating. I placed a takeout order an hour in advance and still waited about 20 minutes after arriving, which I completely understand—restaurants get busy. However, I later found out that my order had been mistakenly given to another customer, and no one informed me until I asked about the status. When the issue was finally addressed, the host attempted to give me the same order that had already left the restaurant that the other customer returned in which this customer had my order for about 20 minutes before realizing the mistake. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I know that’s a serious food safety concern—once an order leaves the premises, it should never be taken back let alone served to another customer. When I asked for a manager, the response I received was dismissive and lacked professionalism. What should have been a quick pickup turned into an hour-long ordeal. Additionally, the restaurant frequently turns off mobile ordering without notice and doesn’t accept call-in orders, even during online-only promotions. It makes planning ahead very inconvenient. I recommend visiting the Lowell location instead—they’re consistently more accommodating and professional, and the experience better matches the quality of the food.
