Opinions de Madam Mam's Thai Cuisine Bee Cave
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Madam Mam's Thai Cuisine, and it was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression. The food was simply fantastic, with each dish bursting with authentic Thai flavors. From the aromatic curries to the savory stir-fries, Madam Mam's Thai Cuisine truly knows how to deliver a solid dining experience. The presentation of the dishes was equally good. One aspect that made my dining experience (might be a little silly) at Madam Mam's truly unique was the seating arrangement. Instead of traditional benches, the restaurant offered benches with giant pillows as cushions. This unconventional seating option added a cozy and relaxed vibe to the atmosphere, as opposed to some places have bench seating with table legs smashing into your knees or having relatively no space between the bench seating to table, etc. The combination of the comfortable seating and the warm ambiance created the perfect setting for enjoying the delicious Thai cuisine. The pricing was fair and reasonable.
Madam Mam’s Thai Cuisine West at Bee Cave Galleria is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with friendly service and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is attentive, kind, and always happy to help with recommendations or spice-level preferences. The food is consistently outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we’ve tried has been full of authentic Thai flavors, from perfectly balanced curries to savory noodles and delicious appetizers. You can really taste the care and quality that goes into each meal. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner with family and friends, Madam Mam’s never disappoints. It’s our go-to spot for Thai food in the Bee Cave area, and we always leave satisfied and excited to come back. Highly recommended!
Honestly a great Thai place. Forest of the service was really good, nice people, good vibes. Atmosphere was chill for a Wednesday night. Not too many people, no wait. Food itself was delicious, tried variety of dishes including pad see ew, 2 curries, chicken dish and it was all really good. Would definitely recommend!
Love this little spot in the hill country for Thai food! Very great service and a huge menu! I highly recommend the Pad Sea-Ew and it was cooked to perfection! I don’t really care for spice but I got it mild and it was the perfect level. The only small issue was how hot the restaurant was! Made the spicy food more intense! Other than that it was a great meal! Very authentic! Ohh and the mango sticky rice is some of the best I’ve ever had!
I will eat here every single time I'm even near Bee Cave! I might even make a special trip when I'm not near Bee Cave! The street pad thai is probably the best pad thai I've ever had! It's so delicious! It's probably a good thing I live far away because I'd be eating here every other day! Definite recommend!
Very good food, the waiters are always nice and the atmosphere is always lively! I suggest getting the spicy edimames as an appetizer, and then I typically keep the sauce and put it in my chicken fried rice and it always tastes amazing! Me and my family always come here to eat and for birthdays and they never disappoint. I also recommend the masuman(idk how to spell) curry with chicken, I've personally never had it but my dad and brother always get it.
✅ Delicious pineapple fried rice! I haven’t had one this good in many years. They used high quality ingredients which made the dish wholesome. The sweet and spicy chicken wings/ thighs are also a must-try! ✅ Swift, friendly and attentive service! ✅ I love the high ceiling and windows which creates a spacious and tranquil atmosphere. ❎ I didn’t like the noodles of the Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao). It didn’t taste fresh and soft. I’ve had much better quality noodles specific to Pad Kee Mao.
Decent place with good vegetarian options. The iced tea was little less sweet for our taste and the lychee fizzy drink has no lychee flavor. Tofu satay was little salty but when eating with the peanut and sweet sauce it tasted good. Pineapple fried rice was average Wife loved the khoi soi which was spicy for me. Mango sticky rice was also middle of the pack. Have had many which were better from other places
Madam Mam's dinning room is nicely decorated. The Dday I visited was not busy, but the appetizers took more than 25mins to come. Otherwise I will give it a higher rating. May be they have too many take out orders. I am also surprised that the pineapple fry rice is served in a plate instead of in a 🍍 . One bonus is their Thai tea is tasty and sweet. A must try item if like sweet. .
We’ve been to Madam Mam’s numerous times. The one we went to is in the Bee Cave Hill Country Galleria, so there’s plenty of parking. The wait for the check is a little slow, but they are short staffed, so go when you know you don’t have to rush. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the P3 Garee Yellow Curry with Chicken, my favorite (not pictured). We tried the Pad Woon Sen with Chicken (pictured). I enjoyed it, my daughter thought it was slightly “dry”, but I disagree. Honestly, I don’t know what it is supposed to taste like, but I thought it was tasty. Paired it with an Iced Thai Milk Green Tea. Yummy. We will definitely be back.
Green curry was 10/10. The noodle dishes were 7/10. The satay was 7/10. If you're looking for the best thai food/ take your breath away I can say the flavor of the curry was spot on. The other dishes may underwhelm but by no means as terrible like some reviews have stated. The portion sizes were fine for us.
This was our first time here. It wasn't too crowded for lunch on a Friday so we were seated right away. The food was fantastic and fresh and tasted really good! The waitress was very busy but she served us well. My dish was not too spicy and not too salty either. I ordered Street fried rice which was supposed to have broccoli, but I only found one tiny broccoli head and the rest appeared to be sliced broccoli stalk. Next time I will stick to regular fried rice.
Madam Mam's has been a go-to for solid Thai food in Austin for good reason — the flavors are on point, the curries are well-balanced, and the pad thai hits the spot. This location is convenient, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is casual enough for a quick weeknight dinner. The one thing I keep noticing, though, is that the portions seem to be shrinking visit by visit. What used to feel like a generous plate that could carry you through the evening now barely qualifies as a full meal. I'm not sure if it's a cost-cutting measure or just inconsistency in the kitchen, but it's hard to ignore when you're leaving a Thai restaurant still hungry. The food quality is still there — I just wish the quantity matched the price. For now, I'd suggest skipping the appetizer budget and putting it toward a second entrée, because you might need it. Worth visiting, but temper your expectations on the portion front.
Overall average and not a place I would go to regularly. This is our second time going and I'm not sure we would go back. It's a large restaurant and both times, we didn't have a problem getting a table when we just walked in. The menu is full of the typical dishes you would expect from a Thai restaurant. We started off with some fresh spring rolls; we had an order of shrimp and one order with tofu. The tofu wasn't fried and while the are fresh, they are lacking of any cabbage, there was the slightest hint of mint, no cilantro and just a sliver of carrot. And the peanut sauce was nothing to rave about. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and I can just say what I received looked absolutely nothing like the photo in the menu. It made me wonder if the photo they use in their menu is taken from some other restaurant. The menu advertises noodles with egg, bean sprouts and broccoli or Bok Choy. So, mine came with noodles and the meat. There was absolutely no bean sprouts or broccoli (or Bok Choy). The photo in the menu shows a heap of bean sprouts to the side of the Pad Thai and the Pad Thai was topped with broccoli. I just received noodles that were drowned in sauce. The chicken in the Pad Thai was fine but overall, not as advertised and not what I would expect of Pad Thai (if you are familiar with this dish). The service is less than expected. They are very nice... but you can sit there for a long time before someone will come to your table sometimes. We had finished our meals; there was even a person who came and cleared our table but it seemed to take a long time to flag someone down to get our bill. Again, we have been twice and just not a fan.
High quality food. Rice and noodle dishes were unusually spicy. This surprised my pregnant wife and child but it was our first time. Regular pad Thai and fried rice isn't usually spicy. But this is great for date night and work lunches. The staff was professional. Meats is tender and tasty. I recommend this Thai place.
I ordered the madam rolls and Thai basil fried rice as an introduction to this establishment base of taste, the quality of food, and the portion value. The madam rolls are miniature fried vietnamese egg rolls. Although decent it was less than expected for the price and I wanted more. For example, the usual fried egg roll, 1, would be larger than the 2 madam eggrolls received. They are better with the sauce then without it. The basil fried rice was ordered with chicken as the main protein and an extra portion of squid as the second protein. The rice was well cooked, had a bit too many large slices of white onion and green beans as a substitute for the carrots generally used in a fried rice. The flavors/textures incorporated worked well although the chicken and squid were a bit sparse throughout. They do a combination of small sized peices and slivers/slices of chicken. The extra squid was around 4-5 peices for an additional $3.00. Was it worth $17 for the basil fried rice? No. You will enjoy the rice/vegetables while missing the protein that you're expecting and paid for. The serving size is enough for 1 person, but not really filling enough to justify the price. For this price I have always had leftovers, at least half, for a late snack encounter. The madam rolls were good, but not memorable enough at the price of $4/5 per order of two. This experience had me wanting more and left me getting high off the memory of other Thai food experiences. I had something to eat, and it was decent, but I am not full after spending $25. The service was a bit backed up and delayed. I was offered condiments, but utensils were not included and I prefer using chopsticks when eating asian cuisine. Thankfully I had extra from traveling or I would have had to eat with my hands. Nonetheless, it was a decent snack, but left little desire to return overall in a myriad of ways. ~ Josie
I’m a big fan of Thai cuisine. Of all the Thai restaurants Ive been to, I can’t name one that is worse than this. It’s like the cook heard about someone described Thai food, but never seen or taste one. The food here may even look somewhat like Thai-ish dishes, but the taste is quite indescribably far off. Proportions are huge, but don’t make up for quality. Waitresses were quite rude and unhelpful also. It’s the first time I walked out of a restaurant without eating much at all (and paid a full price). I’ll pass.
This is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life… Staff is extremely rude and always looking at you as if you are bothering them. The food is the opposite of authentic, there is a lack of authentic Thai dishes on the menu. The actual dishes are disgusting and do not match the images at all. The ingredients are not fresh, and are either frozen or have been sitting out for days. The flavor is basic and bland. It’s a shame that the decoration is so nice, it makes you think it’s a nice restaurant when it is quite the opposite. I have also noticed several HEALTH AND HYGIENE ISSUES like HAIR AND ROACHES in food. Not sure how this place isn’t closed yet.
